Summoner 101: Lesson 25

Even though they are called demons, the entities from the demon world are not all necessarily evil. Their rationality depends mostly on the control of their summoners or on the control of the demon itself.

Insanity.

He wasn't mad.

Akashi stared at the demon laying at his feet. It was a young one. He knelt beside the body, noting that it was still shaking. Akashi extended a hand to touch the demon. But as his fingers ghosted over the skin of the other, the demon shook violently. Demon power coursed through the small body as the said power escaped Akashi's body without him noticing, fizzling with what looked like sparks of electricity.

And then the small body stopped moving completely.

Akashi almost recoiled in fear. It wasn't the first time that he had seen death, but he never liked death in the first place.

A yell caught his attention. He turned at the source of the voice only to see another shaking and very wide-eyed demon.

"M-Murderer...!" the demon said as he pointed towards Akashi.

"Wait, let me explain..."

"A-A mad demon!" the demon yelled, running away from Akashi and towards the direction of the nearest den of a clan of demons.

He wasn't mad.

He was merely trying to help the little demon.

"Mad demon!"

It was what they called him.

He wasn't mad, he said.

He tried to explain. But they didn't listen.

He waved his hands to try to calm them down. But as his power unconsciously slipped from him, they disintegrated to pieces.

They died.

With that, even Reo and the others considered him a threat.

He wasn't mad.

But they considered him insane anyway.

"I'll kill you all."

Aomine, Hyuuga, Kagami, Aida, Kise, Kasamatsu, Midorima, Takao, Murasakibara and Nijimura all turned as they heard Mayuzumi yell. All of his shadow ropes snapped as the grey-eyed demon fell towards the ground, clutching on his right eye.

The hands that were holding over one of his eyes were unable to cover all of the golden light that his eye produces.

"Mayuzumi!" Midorima and his co-familiars ran towards the shadow demon, instantly cutting their connections to the magic users. Kagami stood beside Aida protectively, watching the gold light with hostility.

Kagami still had his teeth gritted. "Mad Demon..."

"Eh?" Aida reacted as he heard what her familiar just uttered. "What are you talking about, Kagami-kun?"

"It's the power of the Mad Demon," Kagami explained, still watching the gold light with hate in his eyes. He turned slightly towards Aida. "Though I don't look like it, I'm a demon that had lived since the era of chaos. It was the time when the Mad Demon still lived."

"I'm guessing this mad demon is a bad demon...?" Aida slowly said. Hyuuga, Kasamatsu, Takao and Nijimura also moved closer to the demon with weird eyebrows to listen.

"He's a murderer," Kagami said. "The Mad Demon killed thousands of demons, even more demons when he was being suppressed. He was very powerful. No one could stop him, even get close to him. The Crusade of Chaos, a group formed to be able to kill the Mad Demon, was annihilated even if there were thousands of them..."

Aida and the others listened with disbelief.

"So where is this mad demon now?" Hyuuga asked.

Kagami was still frowning. "He's killed by five demons. This five demons are the ruling individuals of the demon world, called the Demon Elders. Though there are rumors that the Mad Demon was not killed but his eyes, the source of his powers, were sealed instead. And that sealed Mad Demon was also said to be made the first Demon King because of his relations to the Demon Elders, but that's just a rumor..."

"Then Mayuzumi-kun is... the Mad Demon?"

Kagami shook his head.

"I don't think so," he said. "My master back in the demon world told me a story once,... told me that the Mad Demon was never a demon in the first place."

Mayuzumi yelled once again. Blood, as well as the gold sheen, was escaping through the gaps between his fingers. Aida tried to get to the suffering demon in order to help, but Kagami and the others stopped her.

"It is apparent that Mayuzumi Chihiro is of the clan of shadow demons," Kagami said, holding on his summoner gently and protectively. "But the 'Mad Demon' is not a demon, according to my master in the demon world. Instead, the Mad Demon is also called the Origin."

Aida and the others turned to Kagami curiously. Even Midorima and his co-familiars turned to listen, most of which had looks of disbelief and surprise on their faces.

Kagami took a breath before explaining. "He's the Origin. In other words, he's the being who created the demon world."

A/N:

Hmm, if Akashi's the Origin, then he's the Mad Demon, who was later the First Demon King, and later the First Summoner, huh? So what now? Akashi is... EVERYBODY?!

EDIT: Kagami mentions a 'master' who told him about the origin, but Aida is also his master (because she is his summoner). Changed a few things to lessen confusion.
