Thank you for reading chapter 24 and welcome chapter 25 of "Kagome's Deepest Wish." I have noticed that not a lot of people have voted on my poll about who Kagome should end up with…I am not making that choice…all the readers are. So please vote or Kagome is going to end up very lonely and sad…not to mention all of her suitors. Poor things! The poll is on my profile…but enough about that and let's get to want everyone really wants…chapter 25.
*I do not own InuYasha or any of its characters…now give me back the special order blow up doll that looks like Koga…I paid a lot of money for that.*
Explaining and Huh?:
Kagome was bored… ever since she became to Southern Lady all she has done is fill out papers and meet with the subjects that had problems… she would love to get out there and help all the injured villagers but Jinenji had that covered and there was nothing for her to do. The villages were being rebuilt, all the children that had been left without parents where living on the palace grounds until new parents could be found. However, all the children including her Shippo were all in classes… so Kagome was really bored. Just as Kagome was trying to figure out a way to escape her guards and maybe go work out in the dojo the loud booming voice of her butler fill the greeting chamber.
"Now announcing Lady Kagetsu, Daughter of Amaterasu, Great Traveler, and Defender of Demons, along with her traveling companions, Lady Nobara, second princess of the Western Wolf Demon Tribe of Egypt, and Shikaku, white witch of Russia, Seer of senses." The butler yelled.
Kagome stood to her feet maybe she could find out what had happened Akaru-Hime. It would be nice to find out what had happened to the only person that had not wanted anything from her. Kagome danced on the balls of her feet waiting impatiently for them to enter.
Kagetsu walked into the room never taking her eyes from the Chosen One…Kagome. With measured step she made her way gracefully into the room until she was standing no more than ten feet away from Kagome. With a flick of her wrist she motioned for her companions to walk forth, never looking back.
Kagome stared at the goddess that had walked in… she had never seen someone so graceful and elegant. She reminded her of a female version on Sesshomaru. With snow colored hair and violet blue eyes…she really stood out. As she was staring at the goddess she noticed small lines of different colors in her hair reflecting off the candles that surrounded the room… for a brief moment Kagome was jealous.
Nobara walked into the room following behind her friend with open curiosity she stared at each person she passed. With each step she could only think that Kagome had surrounded herself with weak fools. It was small wonder that the south had not fallen long ago. Nobara lifted her nose in the air she would make sure that the people of Japan knew the might of the Western Wolf Demon Tribe of Egypt.
Kagome looked at the wolf demon as she walked into the room…had the goddess decided to surround herself with nothing but beautiful people? The wolf princess had such dark hair but as she passed the candles Kagome could see that her hair was a dark purple rather than a black. And her eyes reminded her of the green spearmint candy her mom bought for her every Christmas. However, Kagome could clearly see that the wolf princess was cocky and headstrong. Kagome giggled to herself…it was Koga in a skirt.
Behind Nobara walked in the white witch of Russia… Shikaku. With her eyes closed she allowed her other senses to guild her to her friends. As she passed each guard, she let her magic do what it wanted…and in seconds she knew the personality of each of them. Some made her smile, others made her mad and a few made her want to cry.
Kagome watched as a petit woman walked in following Kagetsu and Nobara. Kagome shook her head…yep beautiful. Kagome tried to remember the last named called and after several seconds it popped into her head, her name was Shikaku. Shikaku had dark blue hair almost like the sky at night…however Kagome could not see the color of her eyes…she had them closed. It was not until Shikaku was standing beside the wolf princess she open them…they were the same shade of blue as her hair.
Kagetsu bowed her head giving Kagome the respect she deserved as the chosen one.
Kagome returned the bow and waited for someone to say something…anything.
Nobara decided since Kagetsu was just staring at Kagome that it would be best if she explained why they were there. Knowing Kagetsu…she would stare at Kagome until Kagome fainted from exhaustion…she was so stubborn like that.
"Alright let's make this quick I have a demon to beat up and Kagetsu will not let me do that until finish our mission." Nobara said breaking the painful silent.
Kagome broke the staring contest with Kagetsu and turned to Nobara. "Umm, well then please tell why you are here."
"To put it simply…Akaru-Hime has been punished for helping you." Kagetsu said in a monotone voice.
Kagome turned back to the goddess with shock and a little bit of laughter…yep female Sesshomaru. Then once more waited for someone to explain things to her.
"She has broken a lot rules to make you happy." Nobara said smirking.
"Nobara hush! This is not your tale to tell." Kagetsu said allowing a hint of anger into her voice.
Nobara let her smirk fall and let out a small whimper…she really hoped that Kagome did not have any trees nearby.
Once Kagetsu was happy that Nobara would speak no more she continued. "Akaru-Hime has suffered a harsh punishment for changing the course of your destiny. By doing what she has done, you will not die a horrible death leading all the demons and humans to seek out justice on your behalf. The demon leader would hunt down the one that killed you and for the first time in five centuries peace would be possible. I do not believe that she should be punished when the course you have been set upon will also lead to peace." Kagetsu said. "I do not know what Akaru-Hime has seen in you to risk herself that way, so I have come to find out."
Kagome let the tears she had been holding back, fall down her face. She could not believe that her friend had been punished for her. It was horrible and it made Kagome feel terrible.
"How was she punished?" Kagome asked trying not to sob.
"All I can say is that the Akaru-Hime has been returned to her previous punishment, however it will be harder for her to gain her freedom this time around." Kagetsu replied never taking her eyes from Kagome.
"How is it possible that the gods can punish a god?" Kagome asked.
"Akaru-Hime was not a born goddess but a created goddess. Her powers are nowhere near as strong as many of the gods and goddesses. She relied on spells and borrowed power to do what she had done for you. The spell she used to bind you and your son was one that had been outlawed many centuries ago. She knew this and yet she still used it…I want to know what makes you so special that she would risk it." Kagetsu said trying to make Kagome understand that Akaru-Hime had no true power of her own. While trying to force Kagome to realize that some of the punishment Akaru-Hime suffered should also be on her shoulders. It made Kagetsu make some connects she had not before…
Nobara watched the interaction between her friend and Kagome; she could see that each word Kagetsu spoke broke a little more of Kagome's heart. What she did not know was why Kagetsu was making it harder for Kagome…had Kagome done something to Kagetsu to make her angry?
After standing there for several minutes Kagome invited them to stay for the night and in the morning was willing to give them some provisions for their travels…and with those words spoken Kagome headed back to her chambers to let herself cry.
Miharu stood in front of the front gates of the Southern palace, bored…completely bored. Ever since the great Lady Kagome became the new ruler, nothing ever seemed to happen. It almost felt like people were afraid to anger her in some way. Everyone spoke of Lady Kagome with nothing but respect…do not misunderstand Miharu loved his mistress as much as anyone but being a guard under her care was just no fun. While thoughts swirled around his mind, he felt some very powerful demonic auras coming swiftly towards him…finally some action! Miharu got into fighting position after sending out an alert to all the other guards…then he waited. It was not long before Miharu saw a whirl wind of sand and dust heading his direction, there also seemed to be flashes of red that would pass into his vision and then seemly disappear into nothing. As he was getting ready to pull out his sword to defend his Lady Kagome, the whirl winded stopped within a foot of him. After the dust cleared he could see a very dirty wolf demon standing in front of him. The wolf demon smirked at Miharu before speaking…
"Hey…lookin for my woman…you seen her?" The wolf demon asked Miharu.
Miharu was highly confused…just who the hell was this wolf and who would want to be the woman of someone with no manners? (I would! Eclipse we get it…you want to screw Koga's brains out…sheesh.)
"You seen her or not?" The manner less wolf demon asked Miharu.
"If I knew whom you spoke of…I could answer." Miharu said looking down his nose at the filthy wolf vermin. (Sorry hold on…need to tie up Eclipse before she hurts the guard… oops almost forgot about the gag!)
"I'm talking about Kagome…you know my woman." The wolf replied trying to make Miharu look like an idiot.
"If you are speaking of My Lady Kagome, Ruler of the Southern Lands then yes I have seen her." Miharu said crossing his arms in front of himself…there was no way in hell he was going to let this wolf get near his Lady.
"Well, then I Koga, Leader of the Eastern Wolf Tribe would like to see her." The self-proclaimed Wolf Leader said copying the guard's stance.
Miharu's mouth fell to the ground, he had never met the Leader of the Eastern Wolf Tribe but the wolf standing before him was nothing like the stories had made him out to be… As Miharu debated on letting the cocky wolf in he heard another voice.
"Yo, Koga what the hell are you doing here?" Said another male's voice.
Miharu looked behind the Koga wannabe and notice a half-demon clad in red robs. In an instant Miharu knew who he was…it was InuYasha the savior of many in the lands of Japan!
"Hey Mutt-face! Thought Kagome finally got rid of your ass." Koga said glaring at the half-demon.
"Indeed she did Koga, however we are here because we had hear that she had become the new ruler." A man wearing monk's robs said to the wannabe Koga.
Miharu knew who this young man was as well; they called him the biggest pervert in Japan. He also traveled with his Lady Kagome. Well if they both called the wolf Koga then he must have been speaking the truth. Miharu turned to face Koga once more and then spoke…
"I will tell Kinkaku that you are here and if he says that Lady Kagome is willing to see you then I will escort you to the meeting chambers." Miharu said then pushed open the gate all the while yelling out orders to the other guards about keeping an eye on their guests.
After speaking briefly to Kinkaku, Miharu headed back to the gates, it was not until he stepped out that he noticed several more individuals now standing next to the previous three.
"And just who might you three be?" Miharu said eyeballing the three women that seemed to appear out of nowhere.
"Well I am the demon slayer Sango…" Sango said trying to explain why she was here…
"No need to say more I have heard about you from our little Lord Shippo." Miharu said then he turned to the other two.
"Hey all we want is to see the priestess…that's it." A wind demon said glaring at the guard… she pulled out a fan…
The littlest person there stepped in front of the wind demon "I am Kanna and this is my sister Kagura we would like to see Kagome."
The group in front of the gates stared at Kanna in horror. They had never heard the young void demon speak so many words before…it kind of scared them.
"Fine let me speak to Kinkaku and I will let you know." Miharu said then turned back to the palace. He stopped and talked to some of the guards telling them to guard the palace as well as the guests…it seemed to him that there was an underlining of hatred throughout all of them. Once more Miharu spoke to Kinkaku, after talking for a while Miharu once again headed to the gates it was then that he heard what seemed to be yelling and screaming…Miharu took off, running as fast as he could to the gates. What he saw almost made him cry…every single one of his guards was no longer at their posts. Instead were standing in groups… it took in a moment to realized that at least ten guards were surrounded one person…what the hell?
"What is going on here?" Miharu demanded
"Well sir two men showed up after you had left and the fighting began…we know Lady Kagome's rules on fighting, so we decided to make sure they could not fight." One of the many guards explained.
"Thank you, My Lady Kagome hates fighting. So if you want to see her, you will not fight. In fact you will give me each and every one of your weapons to me for safe keeping." Miharu said in a stern voice allowing no room for arguments.
One by one Miharu walked to each group taking any possible weapon. He took swords, he took staffs, he took a giant boomerang and he took fans. He even took a strange looking pink jewel from the dark half-demon who called himself Naraku as well as pieces of glass from Koga. Once he was sure that he had taken everything he could possibly take he led each one inside the palace making sure they knew that if they even got into a little pissing contest they would be quickly removed from the palace. Once his job had been done he took all the weapons to a special vault that had been built when Lady Kagome had moved in…he placed all the weapons in the vault and headed back to the gates…maybe being a guard to Lady Kagome was not as boring as he thought!
Kinkaku the butler and personal body guard of Lady Kagome stood in the meeting chambers. He knew his job and he would do it without causing hardship to His Lady. He was a proud man and even more proud to be servicing someone like His Lady. So after telling His Lady's personal maids to help her dress he grabbed some drinks and waited for the guests to arrive. He did not have long to wait. There were so many… He stared at all the people asking for an audience. He made each of them take a seat and then explained that Lady Kagome would be arriving shortly, and then he stood at the door waiting. Suddenly there was a knock at the door, almost at a speed so quick you could not see it, Kinkaku opened the doors and raised his arm. A hand laid itself upon Kinkaku and then the walk began. Kinkaku walked His Lady to the throne chair and helped herself to sit and then stood next to her.
"Presenting Lady Kagome, mother too little Lord Shippo, Priestess of the Shikon, and Ruler of the Southern Lands. As I say each name please step forward." Kinkaku said then he began his presentation.
"Lord Koga, Leader of the Eastern Wolf Demon Tribe." Koga stood up, walked forward and bowed deeply to Kagome. After standing straight once more Koga headed back to his seat…how he hated these formal things.
"InuYasha, son of Inu no Taishō." InuYasha stood to his feet making sure to follow exactly what Koga had done…he did not want to screw up now.
"The Monk Miroku." Miroku stood up as well and once more did what he had been told by the butler before Kagome's arrival.
"The Demon Slayer Sango." Sango stood and smiled at Kagome before she sat back in her chair…sometimes it was nice being a girl.
"The wind demon Kagura with her sister the void demon Kanna." Kagura sneered why the hell did they have to do all this? Kanna stared blankly ahead of her…
"Bankotsu, Leader of the band of Seven." Bankotsu stood and walked to Kagome…wow she sure has gotten hotter… after several moments of drooling Bankotsu headed back to his seat.
"Lastly Lord Naraku Ruler of the Northern Lands." Naraku stood and gracefully walked to Kagome, bowed then turned back to head to his seat, making sure that there was a little more sway in his step…he wanted to make sure Kagome got some eye candy.
Kagome could not believe what she was seeing… it was unreal; there was no way that all these people were in the same room and not killing each other. It was unnerving! Kagome tried not to say something about it and break the peace but that brought her mind to why were they all here. Kagome stood to her feet and made her way down to the group of individuals and then she ran quickly and threw herself into Sango's arms.
"Oh Sango I am so happy to see you again." Kagome said trying not to cry in relief at seeing her friend once more.
Sango wrapped her arms around Kagome and smiled. Today was a good day…even if she had not gotten to kill Naraku.
Kagome and Sango chatted for a while, completely ignoring the others in the room. Kagome explained to Sango how she had become the Southern Lady and how she had ended up being able to beat him when there came a loud bang on the door and in walked someone Kagome never thought that she would see…
Sesshomaru stood outside the gates of the Southern Palace gracefully making his way to the guard stationed outside. Without even glancing at the guard Sesshomaru just walked right passed him and right into the palace area. Taking notes that he could tell Kagome where her guards were neglectful… it would not do for Kagome to not be protected…when he was not around that is. As he walked each guard turned and quickly dropped their eyes to the ground. Sesshomaru then concluded that they had not only heard of him but they also respected him…as they should…he was the great Lord Sesshomaru after all. Once he had gotten to the front doors of the palace they instantly opened…hmm interesting. Sesshomaru was then led through the palace until they reached what Sesshomaru believed was the meeting chambers. The guards in front of it banged on the door and then opened it…Sesshomaru was slightly taken back by all the people that were in the room but he maintained his straight face and walked in…he looked around until he spotted his sole reason for being there…Kagome. Sesshomaru walked towards her; never taking his eyes away from her…she had gotten even more beautiful than he had remembered.
Kagome watched as the Lord of the Western lands walked towards her, his eyes never leaving hers. What did he want? Had he come to see how a powerless human female became the Southern Ruler? The questions passed through her mind but it was not until Lord Sesshomaru was only a few feet away did she notice that he was carrying something. Whatever could it be?
(Author's Corner)
