Hey everyone, Kittyjen here for a brand new episode of SkyShorts!
Finally, I shall now introduce Yogscast! However, while I did my research, I noticed a lot of members on Yogscast. It was a bit overwhelming, so it is with a heavy heart that I must say not all of the members of Yogscast will be introduced in this episode. I looked through several stories about Yogscast and the final results are presented above this note. So, if you are upset that you didn't see your favorite Yogscast member or if I get something wrong about the characters mentioned, I apologize in advance. Enjoy!
Talents are what makes us different and unique from each other. Most of us have already found our talents while others still seek to find theirs. However, there is always a person who thinks that they have a talent, but they aren't very good at it. And learning to be honest with them can be hard. And when Sky is faced with a problem with another god, can he find a way to be truthfully with him without hurting him?
As summer nears closer and closer to the bustling land of Minecraftia, more wildlife appear in the long plains and grasses. At the Butter Craft Airship, recruits padded along the hallways of the 2-meter long aircraft.
In the Team Crafted meeting room, the members and several friends are discussing with each other, settled around the table. Then, all talking ceases when Adam enters the room and sits on the chair in the end of the table. "Hello, everyone. Now the reason I called you all in here today is because I have some exciting news", Adam stated.
Brotato, who is seated next to Bonkers, stands up from his seat and asks "We're all getting laid?!" Bonks grabs the edges of her chair and scoots an inch away from the slightly delusional man. Adam stays silent for a moment, then replies "Not even close, Tyler". Then, he looks back towards the table and resumes "Now, as I was saying, I have some great news. I just got off the phone by Lewis Brindley".
"The guy from the Yogscast Team?!", Bash exclaimed, letting himself off his seat as far as he could and leans against the table. Then, beneath him, PewFace sarcastically remarks "No, the guy from the basketball team. Yes, the guy from the Yogscast team!"
Adam interrupts with"Anyway!...For those of you who don't know, him and the rest of the Yogscast crew are the producers and directors for Minecraftia's popular talent show "Minecraftia's Got Talent". He discussed with me that the usual studio that they use to film the series is condemned right now, and he asked me if he and the crew can use the party room we have as their temporary studio until their's is up and running again".
"So...what's the exciting part?", Jerome questioned.
Adam replies with "He said that since the episode he and the others are gonna film is the season 2's finale episode, he announced that any of us can enter and show off our skills in either talents or singing". Everyone around the table exclaim in surprise and excitingly discuss their new plans to enter the show either solo or with someone.
"Awesome! Finally, I see a true purpose to go show off my skills with my guitar", Tyler said, reaching beneath the table and pulls out an acoustic guitar.
"Do you always carry with that with you?", Mitch asked, never seeing Brotato carrying around his instrument. Tyler replies "Nope, but I had a feeling that today would be different. So, enjoy the music provided by me".
Tyler clears his throat for a moment, strums a couple of strings to get them in tune for a bit, then takes in a deep breathe. A few awkward-feeling moments later, Brotato plays a row of notes by running his hand down once on the strings, each of them vibrate rapidly and create a series of sounds that fill the air. The man freezes as the strings begin to cease vibrations and the notes played begin to disappear.
"...That's it?", Jason asked, tilting his helmet a bit to the right.
"Oh, no. That was just my warm-up song. Here's the real song", Tyler explained. He clears his throat again, and starts playing a soft country-like song on his guitar. He expertly runs his fingers across the strings, creating sounds that match each other in tune and make a beautiful sound that everyone around the table enjoy and listen intently...until Tyler begins singing.
-Brotato: My balls are tiny...
My dick is small...
I saw my uncle...
but I wish I didn't at all...
He plays a last set of notes before stopping. Once the song ceases, he looks up as he sees everyone staring at him.
Tyler scoffs in agitation before saying "That's the same reaction that I received when I played this song in front of my 2nd grade class in elementary. Everyone's a critic".
"Moving on...", Sky said, shaking his head slightly to move the conservation away from what just happened to what he was previously talking about.
"If any of you want to join the talent show, just meet up with Hannah and Martyn in the audition room near the party room and show them your talent. They'll judge whether or not you have talent to express on live television...or you don't. Only rules, though, is no lip-syncing when you're singing a song, and definitely NO songs about your genitalia. Not because I added it, but because it's actually enlisted in Yogscast's rules", Adam exclaimed, casting an annoyed look at Brotato.
Tyler gets steamed and exclaims out "I'm just trying to be a star, Dad! Do you love me yet?!" The Minecrafter sighs sadly as he leans back in his seat, then he grabs his guitar from the table. He turns it completely around and takes a bite out of the round end of the stringed instrument, causing a distort of sounds to erupt from the strings. Bonks, who is seated next to him, asks with no emotion at all "Did you just take a bite out of your guitar?"
"...Yeah. I was hungry, and the rounded end smells like marble syrup", Tyler simply replied with his mouth full, then swallows the chewed-up wood with no trouble at all.
Then, he stands up from his seat and says "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom and scream like someone in labor for a couple of hours...or more". Tyler moves away from the table and towards the doors, exiting through them and leaves the entire team and their friends in an awkward silence for a moment.
Then, the silence is broken when PewFace questions out loud "Seriously, am I the only sane one in this crazy world of blocky, cube-shaped people?!"
Some hours later, in the party room, recruits bustle wildly as they dash across the floor quickly with tasks needed to be done. Among the slight chaos that was alive in the room, a man with brown hair and facial hair appears on the stage with a clipboard, dressed in a maroon outfit, dark pants, and gray shoes. He glances around as he sees everyone at work.
Then, he looks upward near the right side of the stage and spots one of the many Yogscast members standing on top of a catwalk and adjusting a spotlight. A male with an orange beard, a dark-gray hat covering his head, a strap that cross over his chest, dark gray gloves and pants, and gray shoes.
"Hey Honeydew, are all the lights pointed at the right angle?", the man asked with a British accent. Honeydew moves away from the spotlight, leans over the railing, and replies with a British accent "Adjusted and ready to go, Lewis!" Then, Honeydew looks towards the end of the catwalk and spots a stray rope dangling a few blocks away from him. He takes a few steps near the edge and sees that the rope can be caught with just a jump and a catch.
"Hey Lewis, I bet I can reach this rope from here!", Honeydew exclaimed, looking down at the man a couple of feet below him. However, this concerned Lewis immediately and he states "Uh, I don't think that's such a good idea, Honeydew! I don't know if that rope is attached to anything or not!"
"Well, there's only one way to find out", Honeydew simply said, readying himself in a jumping position. Lewis winces slightly as he covers his mouth with the clipboard and whispers to himself "Oh dear, this isn't going to end well..."
The man watches as Honeydew leaps from the edge and grasps the rope tightly. The rope drops for a moment, then at a medium speed, begin to go down with Honeydew holding on the end of it tightly. In the back of the stage, two men are seen near a sandbag tied up with a rope. The first man, named Sjin, has straight brown hair, blue eyes, a mustache, and dressed in a pale-blue and yellow suit with dark gloves and shoes. The other man, named Sips, has palish-gray skin, dark hair, dark eyes, and dressed in a pale-blue and light-blue outfit with dark-gray gloves and shoes. Sjin grabs the rope tied to the bag and tugs at it for a moment.
"Are you positively sure that this rope is secured?", Sjin asked, sporting a British accent in his voice. Sips replies a bit annoyed "God damn it. Must I repeat myself?! Yes, the rope is secure!"
Suddenly, Sjin is yanked from the floor and the Minecrafter yells out in panic as he is pulled towards the ceiling with the bag held in his hand. Sips watches from below as he sees the man pulled higher and higher, away from him. "See ya!", Sips shouted from below.
Back in front of the stage, Honeydew lands gently on the floor with his feet, the rope still clutched in his hand. Lewis watches in shock as the man seemed unharmed from the rather fast descend to the floor. "See? I told you I could make it", Honeydew said, then loosens his grip on the rope. Backstage, Sips watches as Sjin quickly descends back towards the floor.
"Sips, catch me!", Sjin cried out.
"Okay", Sips simply replied. Then, he steps out of the way as Sjin lands face-first onto the floor, the bag still held with his head. The rest of the rope comes rolling out from on top of the stage and coils on top of Sjin's body before it finally ceases. "Why didn't you catch me?", Sjin questioned painfully a moment later, his voice muffled due to having his face pinned against the floor.
"Oh, catch you? I thought you said fetch you. Well, I'll just go ahead and fetch you a doctor...see what I did there?", Sips joked.
"Oh, Ha Ha! You are freakin' funny! But seriously, go get help 'cause I think I lost all feeling in my face", Sjin remarked, letting his hand go from the bag and rests it on top of his head.
Meanwhile, a short distance away from the party room and in the audition room, Martyn and a woman with blond hair, a owl-themed hat and dressed in a dark-blue shirt with brown pants and dark shoes, watch in a recording studio in awe and surprise as Caveman serenades into the microphone in the recording room. Behind the judges, Sky, the rest of Team Crafted, and a few friends watch with interest as they had never heard Dan sing before. In the room, Caveman sings with great emotion into the microphone as he vocalizes the final verses of the song he is singing
Caveman:...Here I stand...in the light of day. Let the storm rage on...the cold never bothered me, anyway...
When the song comes to a complete halt as Caveman vocalizes the final word to a whisper, Martyn and Hannah applaud greatly for the Minecrafter's performance.
Martyn exclaims "Wow, Caveman! That was remarkable! It was...stupendous! I mean...there are no words right now from me to describe how incredibly amazing your singing was!"
Then, Hannah states "Well Dan, it is with great honor that since your performance was quite a jaw-dropper for me and Martyn, you have gain a part in tonight's "Minecraftia's Got Talent" finale episode! Congratulations!"
Dan smiles in excitement as he takes a breathe before saying "Wow, thank you so much!" The judges nod once to confirm that Dan can go now. Once Dan is out of the room and leaves the recording studio, Hannah and Martyn look over their clipboards and scan through the several names marked or with a check mark or an 'X'.
"So, is that everybody?", Martyn questioned, looking carefully over the list of people. Hannah replies "Hm...looks like it. Well, if there isn't any late entries, then I guess-"
"WAIT!", a voice suddenly cried out. The door to the studio burst open and a figure falls over on the floor. It's Noah, who lifts his head up and groans slightly from the impact of practically slamming his body against the door. Adam asks in surprise from the Nether god's arrival "Noah? What on Earth are you doing here?"
Noah replies "Auditioning for the finale episode of "Minecraftia's Got Talent". I never personally watched the show, but upon hearing the news from Rythian about 5 minutes ago, I'd feature I can show off my awesome singing skills to the world on live TV".
Jason exclaims "Wow...I didn't know you can sing".
"Well, I never really got to express my singing 'cause...well...pretty much whenever I sing, people around me just seem to run away", Noah admitted, rubbing the back of his head as he ascends to his feet. Bash explains "They probably ran away 'cause they didn't want their brains to explode from how awesome your singing is gonna be!"
Noah lets out a chuckle before saying "Thanks, Bash. This opportunity for me to sing to everyone around the globe is great and I'm taking it!" Martyn states "Well, Noah, if you can so kindly step into the room before us, Hannah and I will judge whether or not you will be eligible to sing on "Minecraftia's Got Talent" finale episode".
"Alright, then", Noah replies. The god spreads his arms out quickly before disappearing in front of everyone's eyes. He appears again inside the recording room in front of the microphone. Hannah and Martyn avert their eyes towards the room in shock.
"Man, I wish I could do that", Martyn exclaimed to himself. Then, Hannah asks the Nether God "So, Noah, what will you be singing for us?"
"Raise Your Sword and Fight", Noah announced, his head held high in confidence. Hannah, seated in front of a recording setup, presses a couple of buttons and types down some words. "Okay, then. Whenever you're ready, the song shall begin...now!"
Hannah quickly presses a button. A inspirational, rock song begins to play into the room. Noah taps his foot in time for the rhythm as he quickly clears his throat. When the instrumental part starts to play in, his singing...well...that's another story.
Noah: (Off-key) Across the land, into the sky
A warrior, I shall stand.
Into the light of day, there's nothing I would say
To change who I am to be grand!
As Noah continues to sing, the smiles that once were pasted on Martyn and Hannah's faces slowly begin to dip into shocked frowns. Everyone behind the judges lose their contented smiles as well. Jerome and Mitch glance at each other awkwardly, Blue Monkey winces slightly as WeedLion groans to himself and covers his ears with his paws.
Noah: (Off-key) Raise your sword and fight,
for what you think is right!
Don't let the mobs take the night.
The gleaming sunlight,
shines upon your might,
and let your wings expand into flight!
Noah vocalizes the last word pitchy, raising from high to low to high again. In the recording studio, among the Minecrafters covering their ears, Bash grasps the sides of his head, unable to take the terrible singing. Then, he starts screaming wildly and stumbles around the room, knocking a few armor pieces off of the shelves before falling onto his side and begins running in circles on the floor.
"My reaction exactly!", Ian exclaimed towards Ty.
After Noah sings a couple of more verses, the song finally comes to an end. Noah take a quick breathe before smiling excitingly. Hannah and Martyn, still holding their shocked expressions, exchange glances with each other before looking back at the Nether god. "So...how'd I do?", Noah asked, eagerly smiling for the result he anxiously awaited for.
Hannah and Martyn look at each other once more, biting their bottom lips as they know that as a judge, they must be completely honest with each performance they see. Sometimes the performance is good, sometimes...not so much, and Noah's singing act fell in one of those categories. The judges look back at the god, Hannah takes a deep breathe in.
She states "Noah...um...I'm gonna be completely honest here, for the sake of me and Martyn. Your performance was probably one of the most ter-" she gets cut-off when she feels something poke her leg. Without moving her head, Hannah glances beneath the recording set and sees Sky. He frantically waves his hand across his neck, signaling to her about something urgent. Hannah looks back up and asks Noah "Um, can you excuse us for a moment, Noah?"
"Sure. I've got time", Noah replied nonchalantly. Martyn presses a button that mutes all the sound coming through the studio and into the room. Hannah quickly gets up, pads over to some blinds hanging over the window of the room, and yanks the strings attached to it a few times before the blinds descend downward. The judges turn towards the team as Sky crawls out from under the recording set and faces the judges.
"Listen, you guys have got to say that he did great and should be in the episode", Adam gasped out.
Martyn explains "Look, Adam, as hard as it is for both us and the performer, we have to honest with their acts when they're bad, and Noah's singing performance was as horrible as Justin Bieber's album "New World". Plus, look at what his singing did to the talking melon!"
Everyone glances towards the floor as Bashur is rocking back and forth near a corner of the room and muttering "Find my happy place, find my happy place, where the Nether is my happy place when I need it!?"
Brotato looks away from the melon and replies "He's always been like that. But he was more worse than that about a week ago when he consumed cocaine after he mistook it for sugar. I tell ya, I've never seen anyone bounce off walls that high until that week".
Hannah shakes her head quickly to get the conversation back to the main topic and exclaims "Anyway, the point we're trying to make is that we have to tell Noah he didn't get the part". However, Sky argues "You two don't understand. Noah is the new god of the Nether, and I would know what would happen if he got upset. He could wreak rampage upon the stage and people would get hurt".
Martyn adds in "But...if we let Noah perform on that stage tonight and he makes a fool out of himself, he'll be a laughingstock to the entire world and he'll never be able to show his face ever again without getting laughed at because of his terrible singing. Besides, I don't even think he knows that he sings badly".
Adam sighs deeply, then he mentally gets an idea. He states the judges "Look, just let him know that he got in. I've got a plan to make him sing better than he did just now".
However, Hannah remarks questioningly "You do know that the show won't start within a few hours? How are you gonna help him sing better until 9 o'clock?"
Adam replies confidently "Hey, I'm the God of Minecraftia. I can do anything, and helping Noah sing better won't be much of a problem. Just trust me, I can help him". Martyn and Hannah look at each other. "The god has a point, Hannah", Martyn admitted. The blond-haired woman sighs deeply, then gazes at the Butter God and says "I hope you know what you're doing".
Adam nods curtly. Hannah turns and heads back to the blinds, tugging at the ropes before the blinds go up, revealing the Nether God still within the room. Martyn moves back into his seat and presses the same button, enabling sound through the rooms again. "Well?", Noah questioned.
Hannah smiles nervously as she says "Well, Noah, after a discussion with Martyn and some of your friends, I must say that your performance was probably one of the most terri-...terrific and outstanding singing act I've ever heard".
Noah smiles with glee as Martyn states "Yeah, it was definitely much better than the last acts where Hannah and I had to watch a guy juggle chainsaws while saying a poem or the last guy who sang a song on his guitar about his...private parts".
"Hey! I made up that song from my heart", Brotato exclaimed, sounding offended. Jerome states "More like from your crotch". Several Team Crafted members desperately try and stifle their laughter, Tyler groans in annoyance as he leans back against his seat. Then, Martyn nervously announces "So...after much thought of what we saw...Noah...you will be performing on the finale episode of "Minecraftia's Got Talent!"
"Yes! Oh, my god! Thank you all so much! You have no idea how much this means to me!", the Nether god exclaimed, so thrilled that he finally got the chance to express his skills upon the stage. In a fit of happiness, Noah exits from the room and dashes out of the recording studio and into the hallway. In the room, Hannah loses her fake smile and sighs as she gets up from her seat and pads out of the room with her clipboard that held the results of the performers. As Martyn begins to follow her out, he glances at Sky and says "I believe in you, Adam. I know that you have what it takes to prevent Noah from getting his feelings hurt. I'll be waiting to see what happens on that stage tonight".
The Britain pads out of the room as Sky states "Don't worry! He'll be singing like a pro before he gets on stage! It will...all be better when I go through with my plan..."
"...You don't even have a plan, do you?", Bodil questioned, raising one of his eyebrows.
"Of course I...don't", Adam sadly admitted, but he perks up immediately as he says "But I'm sure there's a faster way to get him to singing performance before the finale begins. Seto?" The sorcerer conjures up his book of spells in one of his hands. He opens it up and begins rapidly flipping through the pages, scanning through each page quickly before moving on to the other.
However, his determined look slowly begins to diminish into a worried look as he approaches the remaining pages towards the end. Seto ceases flipping the pages before looking up and says "I've got bad news. I can't seem to find a spell that can enable the vocal cords in someone to produce a better singing voice".
"But...the good news...?", Dawn asked. Seto answers "No, that's just it. That's the bad news. There isn't any good news that I know of at the moment".
"Oh...fuck me", Adam whined, trudging up to the window of the recording room and gently hits his head against the glass. Seto turns one more page over, then his eyes widen in surprise upon seeing the words written within the page. "Wait...I think I found something!"
Adam immediately turns away from the window and grasps Seto's arms tightly. "Tell me!", the Butter God exclaimed. "Uh...can you loosen the grip you have on my arms?", Seto asked gently. Sky lets his hands go from the sorcerer's arms and backs away slightly.
"So, I may not have found a spell to make someone sound better, but I found a spell that can change someone's voice to sound like someone else's voice. Do any of you know someone who has a great singing voice?", Seto asked, glancing around the room. Everyone, including Bashur, shift all of their gazes towards Adam. The Butter God glances around the room and sees everyone looking at him.
"Ugh, why must I be so good at singing and dashingly handsome at the same time?!", Sky asked himself, letting his arms droop slightly. Seto states "Sky, you made a promise that you would help Noah".
"I know...and I have to keep that promise", Sky said, determination rising in his voice. Then, he says "Okay, so now that we found a way to protect Noah from getting embarrassed, I think I may have a plan on how we can make the audience seem that Noah is singing amazingly, when it is actually coming from me".
Hours pass by, and eventually, the time comes for finale episode to begin. Beyond the shining light-covered stage, thousands of Minecrafters fill up the seats set up in front of the platform. A short distance away from the stage, a long glass table is settled in front of the audience and the entire Yogscast crew is seated facing the stage. Honeydew and Lewis are currently talking as a cameraman holds a camera in front of the crew as they wait patiently for the show to begin.
"So, Honeydew, what do you think is in store for the finale episode of 'Minecraftia's Got Talent!'?", Lewis questioned. Honeydew replies "I think this finale episode is gonna go off with a bang. You know, just as long as the performers don't lose their cool, mess up their act, and get laughed at by a thousand audiences members here".
"I'm just here because I don't want to go through the madness back at our own studio", said a man with pale-purple eyes, a black outfit, black bands around the middle part of his arms, a black bandana covering his mouth, an Enderman sketch on the back of his outfit, and slightly torn dark pants. He props his feet on top of the table.
"Rythian, dude, you gotta chill out and enjoy the acts about to be performed in front of us", another man said, his tone radiating a British accent. He has blond hair with a pair of goggles perched on top of his head, a white coat, gray gloves, and palish-brown pants. Rythian replies to the man "Duncan, you and me both know that this finale episode isn't that big of a deal. It's pretty watching the same acts again and then, waiting for several months before we start the third season".
"Who knows? Maybe one of the performers will blow us away", Duncan exclaimed. Rythian replies "If that's the case, then I'll be grasping the table until then".
Meanwhile, as the crew discuss the event with each other, behind the stage, the performers chat amongst themselves as they await for the announcement for the beginning of the show. Noah peers from behind the curtain and gasps when he sees the amount of Minecrafters within the audience.
"Oh, geez...that sure is a huge crowd", Noah thought to himself, nervously shifting his gaze side to side. He back away from the curtains after having an eyeful. Then, he glances over and spots Sky walking up to him.
"Hey Adam. Did you try out for the show?", Noah asked in curiosity. Adam quickly replies "Oh, uh...no. 'Cause I have...uh...stage fright! Yeah, that's it!"
"Oh, that sucks", Noah said.
"Yeah, it does", Adam replied, lowering his head slightly. Then, he looks up at Noah and questions "So...how are you feeling about this?"
"I don't know. Kinda nervous about performing in front of a crowd that large, but I can't back down", Noah replied, feeling bravery within his veins again. The Nether god walks away from the curtain. Sky frowns slightly as he looks out and can faintly see the large audience in front of the stage. Anxiety begins to flow through the Butter God's wings, and he quickly ducks away, taking a couple of breathes to calm himself.
"Adam!", a faint voice whispered. Sky gazes over his shoulder and sees Seto, waving his hand while the other clutched a bottle filled with a bluish liquid. Adam quickly makes his way over to the sorcerer and once he gets there, he asks "Is the potion ready?"
"Yeah. This potion is guaranteed to make your voice sound exactly like Noah's", Seto explained, eyeing the bottled potion in his hand carefully. He hands the potion to Adam.
Sky looks closely at the potion, but couldn't help but have second thoughts about the whole plan to protect Noah's reputation. With his unusually heighten abilities, Seto could sense a tension radiating around the god's aura. "Are you okay, Sky?", Seto asked in worry.
"Oh...uh...yeah, I'm fine. It's just...if Noah were to find out that I did this, he'll probably never forgive me", Sky explained.
"Well, it will hurt him even more if he gets embarrassed on TV. Besides, it's only gonna be one performance. Once it's over, Noah will get his chance under the spotlight, no one will get laugh at, and everything will be back the way it was", Seto implied. Sky ponders about what the sorcerer had said, then he gives a smile and says "Alright, Seto. I'll do it because Noah is my friend, and I hate to see my friends being teased on just because they aren't good at something".
"Very well. Once Noah is ready to go, I'll give you the signal to drink the potion and-", Seto stops as he lifts up his hand and uses his telekinesis and brings within his grasp a headset with a microphone attached to it. "to wear this. This headset is actually connected to the one Noah is currently wearing. When Noah begins to sing, your voice will be come out and Noah will believe that it's his own voice, but in reality, it's coming from you. It took a bit of tweaking and re-wiring, but I finally got it connected".
"Wow...you're a sneaky sorcerer", Adam said, taking the headset from Seto and places it over his head, adjusting the microphone piece near his mouth. "Alright. I'll wait for the signal". Seto nods and quickly makes his way out of the stage area.
Sky leans against the wall as he looks out from the safety behind the curtains and watches a male performer acting out magical tricks by making birds appear out of scarves.
Some performances later, as multiple competitors wait eagerly for their turn, Jerome and Mitch stand a short distance away from each other as they hold 2 pairs of axes in their hands. "Ready, biggums?", Jerome asked, moving two of the axes to his other hand. Mitch replies "Ready. And remember, just like we practiced". Mitch swings one of the axes back and forth, ready to toss it to Jerome. But then, a voice cries out "Hey guys!" Mitch loses his grip and watches as the axe twirls in the air skyward and gets stuck on the ceiling.
"Dang it, Bash!", Mitch said, turning around upon recognizing the high-pitched voice. Bash takes a step back and states "Oops, sorry guys. I'm just on my way onto the stage. My performance is next!"
"Really? What are you gonna do?", Jerome asked in curiosity. However, the melon replies "It's a surprise. And it's gonna blow everyone away! So...wish me luck!"
Bash excitingly resumes padding through the backstage part and pushes through the curtains.
Appearing backstage moments later is PewFace, who has rather an unamused smile on his face. "Heh...this is gonna be good", the dog remarked sarcastically, taking a few steps near the curtains and sits down. "I don't see what kind of act my owner can possibly pull up".
"Well...how bad can it be?", Jerome asked.
25 minutes later...
Jerome and Mitch stare with wincing expressions as they watch Bashur face-down on the floor, muffled sobs and weeps emit from the melon. PewFace just stares at his owner with a bored look.
"I don't get it", Jerome said, scratching his head in confusion. "How on Earth does someone score a negative zero point five on a talent act?!"
"I'm pretty sure trying to turn yourself inside out and show everyone your insides doesn't count as an talent act, more or less is kinda something out of a horror movie", Mitch said, shifting his gaze towards the Bacca. Jerome looks back down at the melon and kneels over, gently patting the melon's back as he says "Well, don't worry, Bash. Maybe...better luck next time?"
"DON'T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MY LIFE!", Bash cried out dramatically, lifting his head up. He quickly gets to his feet and runs out of the backstage, sobbing uncontrollably as he darts away as fast as he could.
Jerome and Mitch stare in silence for a moment, then PewFace states "Eh, he'll be fine. I'd figure that that comment Lewis made about Bash sounding like a 16 year-old fangirl screaming about their favorite pop star is what drove him to tears onstage".
"Man, how knew judges could be so ruthless?", Jerome questioned, looking through the curtains and spots the Yogscast crew talking amongst themselves about the previous act that Bashur had try to perform. "Anyway, who's next on stage?", Jerome asked, looking back at his friend.
"I believe it is...Noah", Mitch replied, speaking the last word in realization. The two PVP warriors make their way to the edge of the curtain and peer out to see Noah taking the stage, the spotlight shines down upon the Nether god's appearance. "Oh man, I hope Sky kept his promise about keeping Noah from embarrassing himself", Jerome gulped, watching as the judges begin asking Noah what his act will be and what he will be singing.
On the other side of the curtain-covered backstage, Sky looks frantically around as he awaits his cue for the plan to be put into action. When he glances above himself, he gapes when he sees Seto standing right above him on top of a catwalk. Seto gives him a thumbs-up, giving him the signal.
Adam nods as he gets the signal and quickly uncorks the potion, gulping every drop of it afterwards as fast as he could. He grimaces when he tastes the foul pungent flavor. But nonetheless, he shakes off the taste and peers out of the curtain while keeping out of sight. He can hear Lewis saying "Well, Noah, whenever you're ready, the song will begin".
Sky sees Noah nod quickly and steps into the center of the stage, staring out into the audience. The god hears the same song Noah sang begin to start, the music blasts through speakers around the stage. Adam eyes Noah carefully as he clears his throat. At the same moment, when the instrumental lyrics begin, both gods take one deep breathe in.
-Sky: (in Noah's voice, in-tune) Across the land, into the sky.
A warrior, I shall stand.
Adam's eyes widen in surprise when he hears Noah's voice come out of his mouth instead of his own voice, but other than be surprised by it, he continues to follow the lip movements from Noah as the Nether god continues to sing into his headset, unaware that it is actually connected to Sky's headset.
-Sky: Into the light of day, there's nothing I would say
To change who I am to be grand!
Raise your sword and fight,
for what you think right!
Don't let the mobs take the night!
The gleaming sunlight,
shines upon your might
and let your wings expand into flight!
Adam vocalizes the last word beautifully, perfectly following the movement of Noah's mouth. Meanwhile, the Yogscast crew stare in surprise as they listen to the Nether god's assumed voice. The audience stare in complete awe while some of the audience cheer loudly and applaud, Adam raises and lowers his voice quickly to make the word flow amazingly before stopping and moves to the next verses to the song.
-Sky: From creepers to zombies, the fight in me will rage!
And one day, I'll be gone and my legacy is in a page!
As the sun comes up, the mobs will go and flee.
And once evil is gone, we'll all be finally free!
Raise your sword and fight,
for what you think is right!
Don't let the mobs take the night!
The gleaming sunlight,
shines upon your might
and let your wings expand into flight!
The song comes to a guitar solo as Noah begins walking around the stage, smiling proudly as he hears the millions of cheers and shouts for him. Backstage, Mitch and Jerome join the cheering as well. And with the other waiting competitors watching on a TV in the waiting room, Brotato stares with a slightly angered look as Shelby screams in glee and faints.
"My act was better", Tyler muttered to himself, holding his guitar tightly in his arms.
Back onstage, Sky grins as he sees Noah in complete happiness. He felt good about this because he knew that Noah was finally getting appreciated by the Minecrafters that once feared him. However, he couldn't help but feel a tug of guilt pull at his heart. But he shakes off the feelings as he resumes singing the final verses.
-Sky: (proudly) Raise your sword and fight
Yeah, for what you think is right!
Don't let those mobs take the night...oh yeah!
The gleaming, shining sunlight
shines upon my holy might
and let your wings expand...into flight!
Adam holds out the final word, still keeping watch of Noah's mouth movements. When Noah shuts his mouth, he cuts-off the word. The song comes to a brilliant end, and every audience member rise from their seats, applauding and cheering madly for the god. Noah smiles as he bows for the audience. Even the Yogscast team join in the cheering.
After a couple of minutes, the cheering begins to subside as the team look at each other and nod eagerly at each other. One by one, they each raise up a small sign that said "10". The last person on the end of the table is a man with brown hair, dark-green eyes, palish-brown glasses, and dressed in a pale-brown suit with a green tie, brown belt, and dark pants and shoes. When he holds up his sign, the numbers appear as "01".
"Nilesy, you're holding it wrong!", Rythian exclaimed, looking over and sees the man holding the sign upside down. Nilesy looks at his sign, quickly realizes his mistake, and quickly turns the sign to the correct position. "Oops, my bad", Nilesy said with a light Scottish accent. Rythian just roll his eyes before looking back at Noah.
Moments later, Noah enters backstage, and is greeted by the waiting contestants, who cheer out for him. Jerome and Mitch walk up to the god, and Jerome says "Noah, that was amazing! Your singing was just about as great as Adam's singing!" Noah replies "Thanks! I'm actually shocked that this is happening. I mean, when I sing, people around me just run away. But now, people are applauding and cheering for me, and it feels awesome! I totally lived my dream up on that stage!"
"Well, keep that dream alive, Noah! One day, you'll be world-famous by your unabashed singing", Mitch suggested. Noah nods quickly, then glances over his shoulder and asks "By the way, have you seen Sky? I wanted to see if he saw my performance". When the god looks towards a nearby door, he sees Sky sneaking his way towards it.
"Hey Sky!", Noah exclaimed. The commander freezes up and rapidly looks over to spot the Nether god. When Noah approaches him, he asks him "Did you see my performance?"
Sky was at a loss of words...literally. He couldn't say anything because Noah will be so confused as to why he had his voice at that moment, and probably cause some suspicion within the god from the fiery dimension. So, straightening himself, he sighs silently to himself and just nods, answering Noah's question.
"Sweet. How'd I do?", Noah asked again. Behind his sunglasses, Sky nervously shifts his gaze around as Noah and everyone in the room wait for a reply from him. So, Sky just nods again and gives the god a thumbs-up. Noah lowers an eyebrow, slightly bewildered by Sky's lack of conversation.
"You okay, Adam? You're awfully quiet after my performance", Noah wondered out loud. Sky's jaw drops slightly, unable to reply to the question. But then, Seto appears backstage and runs up to the commander, wrapping an arm around his shoulder as he states for him to Noah "Sky is just fine. He just...he is just so amazed by your singing act, he can't even express his amazement through his words. But I will tell you that he thinks you did great!"
"Thanks! Well, I better get ready. After one more performance, they're gonna announce who won!", Noah expressed. The god walks out of the room and once he is completely out of sight and out of the room, Adam takes a deep breathe of relief.
"Thanks for covering me, Seto", Sky stated, his voice still carrying Noah's voice. Seto replies "No problem, No- I mean...Sky! Sorry, it's just that with you having that voice, it seems a bit out of place". Then, walking up to the men is Mitch and Jerome, who push their way through the contestants and up to Adam and Seto.
Jerome questions "Wait...this is the plan you had to save Noah from embarrassing himself?! Make yourself sound exactly like him and sing so the audience thinks that he sounds great, but it's really coming from you?"
"Pretty much sums it up, yeah", Sky answered.
"I don't know, doods", Mitch said. "He will be pissed when he knows that his singing actually came from you. Maybe you should just tell him the truth".
Sky is shocked by this statement and replies "No way! And besides, did you see how elated he was? Noah finally lived his dream and now, it's over once the show is done. I'll change my voice back, and everything will be back to the way it was".
"I hope so", Mitch replied with a sigh.
An hour later, all the contestants are lined up onstage. All the spotlights are pointed down towards the competitors as they wait for the result of who won. Lewis walks onto the stage with a microphone held in his hand as he addresses the audience "Ladies and gentlemen, the finale episode of "Minecraftia's Got Talent" has come to a conclusion and now, it is time to see which of these participators has won".
Lewis turns towards the line up of humans or hybrids and states "You all have displayed such a unique array of different talents. Some of them were amazing, others...eh...they could have been better and slightly less disturbing". Within the line, Bash looks down in disappointment as he shifts his legs around.
"However, only one of you has won the finale episode, as well as a secret prize along with it. So, without further ado, the winner of the finale episode is...", Lewis paused for dramatic effect as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a golden-tinted envelope, containing the result of the winner. He opens it up and once he gets a gander of the result, he states into the microphone "Noah!"
The Nether god smiles in surprise and excitement as he approaches out of the line, Hannah appears onstage moments later and presents Noah with a golden medal. She places it over his neck and Noah looks out into the audience and waves, resulting in more cheering with a combination of shouts and whistles.
However, some of the praising cuts-off when Tyler steps out of the line of competitors and marches up to the trio in front of the stage. "Wait a second!", Tyler shouted in an obvious enraged tone. "My singing act was way more invigorating and inspiring than that god's song was!"
"Tyler, your singing was "The Assumption Song" uncensored by you and because of that, it caused a lot of anger uproar by the parent viewers", Hannah explained as best as she could. However, Tyler argues "Hey, it isn't my fault parents are more aware of what their kids are watching! Besides, this show has a lot more immature and weird stuff as on the Cube-Factor!"
"Okay, can someone please take him off the stage?", Lewis called out, glancing out towards the audience in a lazy gaze.
Then, two recruits, Alix and Aver, approach onto the stage and grasp Tyler by his arms. Tyler desperately tries to free himself from their hold, but it does nothing.
"Let go of me! You're gonna hear from my lawyer!", Brotato exclaimed.
Alix questions "What lawyer would work for you? Tyler thinks about the question for a moment, then states "Then, you're gonna hear from my accountant".
"An account is someone who handles your money, genius", Aver said. Tyler sighs in defeat as he lets himself be carried off stage. Then, Lewis resumes with "Sorry about that, audience. As I was saying, Noah has won the finale episode of "Minecraftia's Got Talent", and the secret prize that he has won...is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the most famous cities in Minecraftia and perform at the most fanciest clubs in existence".
The audience erupt in a loud roar of cheers and applause as Noah grins even bigger from this exhilarating piece of news that has been given to him. Meanwhile, backstage, Sky and Seto watch in shock as they sees this event unfolding on the TV screen above them. The commander and the sorcerer exchange a glance with each other, knowing what the future will have in store for them.
"Oh...", Sky begins.
"Crap", Seto finished.
The show comes to a close. Many of the Minecrafters depart from the ship and return back to their homes while recruits exit from the party room or stay behind to clean up. In the TC meeting room, Sky walks around the room in nervously as everyone look at the commander.
"What the Nether am I gonna do? Noah won that trip, but I can't possibly be there to cover for him", Sky exclaimed, his voice back to its normal tone. WeedLion suggests "It's easy, Sky. Just tell him that his singing sounds like cowshit." James glares annoyingly at him, the feline looks over and sees the primate looking at him with a stern look.
"What? I'm just trying to contribute to the team", WeedLion tried to explain himself. James sighs before looking up at Sky and says "Look, Adam, as hard as it is to protect a friend from being hurt by public criticism, you're hurting him even more by not telling him the truth".
"But I don't want Noah to hate me for making him think that he could sing like a pro", Sky argued. James replies "Listen, when you tell someone the truth, there's always that small moment where they hate you, but they'll forgive you for being honest to them".
"I'm sorry, James, but I can't. I don't want Noah to get publicly humiliated. He's been through a lot in his life, and this new experience is brightening up his spirits", Sky pointed out.
"So...how are you gonna cover for him?", Ian asked, wondering how Sky was going to deal with Noah and his newly won trip. Sky ponders for a couple of seconds, then gets an idea. "I got it. When Noah leaves for the trip tomorrow, there'll be a bus to come pick him up. Seto and I will sneak onto the bus and every city he goes to, Seto will provide me with potions to disguise my voice as Noah's and once the trip is done, Noah will be content and all of this will be in the past".
"But...what if someone finds out that you're the one covering for Noah's singing?", Jason wondered.
"I've got invisibility potions on me, just in case", Seto said, moving one of the flaps of his his purple cloak and reveals rows of potions held in pockets. He hides the potions away as he continues "Although, I want to save the potions for when Adam and I really need it, I have no idea how we're gonna sneak onto the bus without getting caught".
The Next Day...
Seto and Sky are clinging to one of the metal parts beneath the bus as they wait anxiously for Noah to aboard it and leave.
"This was your best hiding spot?", Seto grunted out, adjusting his grip on the steel part he is holding on to. Adam holds himself up even closer as he says "Well, we couldn't exactly hide on top of the bus because of the recording equipment Yogscast has. But don't worry. I'm sure it won't be a long trip to the first city".
Then, Sky shuts his mouth quickly when he hears footsteps approaching the bus. Sky peers towards the bottom of the bus and sees two pairs of feet standing near the bus as another pair comes into view soon after.
"Hey Noah. You ready for your trip?", a voice was heard, Adam recognizes the tone and accent as Lewis's voice. Then, another voice is heard saying "Yep. I can't wait to go to all these famous cities. I've always wanted to travel to them".
"Well, the first city we're going to is gonna take probably until tonight to reach so you can do your performance", Lewis answered. Sky's jaw drops again upon hearing how long it will take to reach one of the cities.
"Well, let's get going while we still have daylight", Lewis stated, then boards the bus, Noah follows inside moments later. The engine of the bus roar out loudly as the vehicle turns over. Sky shuts his eyes tightly as he grips the part he is holding on even more. Beside him, Seto just looks ahead as he tightens the grip he has on the metal part. He and Sky suddenly jerk up quickly when they feel the bus push forward.
The tires start to roll, and the vehicle turns completely around before it starts to gain speed and go faster. Sky takes a quick glance beneath him and sees the grassy ground beneath him roll by fast. He looks away in avoid getting himself filled with anxiety, his hair is tossed around in all directions. He can only hope he can avoid the sight beneath him once the journey to the famous cities is over.
Hours later, night comes about, and the bus holding the Nether god had finally reached its destination. Sky, who is still clinging onto the metal part, is fast asleep and unconsciously, his arms manage to hold on for the entire trip. Seto, who is just at the brink of falling asleep, is suddenly awaken when the bus comes a completely stop. The sorcerer looks beneath the bus and watches silently as two pairs of feet exit from the bus and begin to make their way to what appear to be a pair of glass doors.
Seto quickly turns to Sky and states to him in a hushed tone "Adam, wake up! We're here!"
"Huh? What?", Sky mumbled, sleepily opening his eyes and looks over to Seto. Then, he notices right away that the bus has stopped moving.
"Oh, okay. Come on, Seto. Let's get on with it", Adam said, then loses his grip on the metal part he had clung to and falls flat on his back on the pavement, groaning in tiredness soon after. Seto lets himself go as well, but carefully crawls under the bus and appears at the end of the vehicle. Seto takes a look around, making sure that no one is nearby to spot them. Sky appears moments later, grunting as he drags himself from under the bus and stumbles to his feet.
"Come on, let's sneak into the building using that ladder", Seto stated, pointing towards the building as a row of ladders ascend to the flat rooftop. Sky nods curtly as he slowly makes his way across the sidewalk and to the ladder, Seto follows close behind him and still keeps a sharp eye out. Sky grasps the wooden bars that make up the ladder and starts climbing to the very top, Seto follows right behind him.
Once the two reach the very top of the building, Sky looks around the roof for a way in, but he doesn't spot anything that would indicate a way inside. "How can we get inside without being noticed?", Sky asked out loud, scanning the rooftop for a bit.
"We could go through that air vent", Seto suggested, pointing to the right. Sky glances over and spots a large opening in a metal pipe pasted within the roof top. Sky sighs in annoyance, knowing what he and Seto must do.
Moments later, large thudding and banging noises can be heard throughout the pipes of the air vent, along with a series of yelps and shouts. They descend downward, then move along the side-shaped length of one of the pipes, then goes downward again. At the very end where the pipe ends, falling out of the hole is Sky. He slams face-first into the wooden floor, dust covering parts of his outfit.
Then, moments later, Seto appears out of nowhere next to the commander, purple particles float around him for a split second before disappearing. Sky lifts his head up and sees Seto completely fine.
"Did you just teleport down here?", Sky asked in shock.
"Of course. I wasn't gonna go down that dusty pipe and get my cloak all dirty", Seto replied, wiping the left sleeve of his purple cloak. Sky glares as he glances down at the floor and blows away a cloud of dust from his mouth. Then, he heaves his body off of the floor and gets to his feet, shaking all of the dust off himself.
"Well, it looks like we're backstage. I'll go and re-wire Noah's headset. Here", Seto said, reaching into his cloak and pulls out the same potion that Sky consumed to change his voice into Noah's. Sky looks down at the bottle for a moment, then grasps it from the sorcerer. Seto turns as his eyes glow blue and he teleports away moments later. Once Seto is gone, Adam looks down at the bottle in his hand. He couldn't help but remember what James had said to him back in the TC meeting room. He knew that if Noah got embarrassed by his horrible singing, he would never be the same again, but what would hurt Noah even more is that if he were to find out that Sky had lied to him around singing great. But Adam knows in his heart, he has to continue with making everyone think that Noah can sing, when it is really coming from him.
Sky grabs the cork and pulls it out of the bottle, gulping the entire contents of the bottle as quickly as he could, to just avoid tasting its foul taste. He shudders for a moment before tossing the bottle aside, then waits patiently for Seto to arrive back with the headset. Then, seconds later, Adam hears the applause of the audience from the other side of the red curtains. The god sneaks to one of the sides of the curtain and peers out while still in hiding.
He spots a large audience before him, more than a thousand infected the rows of seats and the balcony was filled to the brim as well. Sky quickly hides away as he feels his heart pounding a million miles per hour. He grasps his chest, then comes to a realization. When he first told Noah that he had stage fright and couldn't perform, he was lying. But now, Adam begins to think that he really has stage fright.
Then, he quickly raises his head when he hears Lewis's voice announce "Ladies and gentleman, tonight's performance will be performed by our luckiest winner of the finale episode of "Minecraftia's Got Talent", Noah!" Adam gasps silently as he peers out and sees Noah ascending up the steps from the other side of the stage and pad to the center of the stage, the audience applause endlessly for the winner of the talent-skills show.
"Oh crap! Where the Nether is Seto?!", Adam panicked in his mind, moving away from the curtains and starts pacing nervously around backstage. Then, appearing right in front of him and startling him is Seto, within his hands is a headset with a microphone.
"Ah! Notch, Seto!", Sky exclaimed in Noah's voice, barely managing to hold on to his balance.
"Sorry. I had some difficult trying to find a headset without being spotted, and I had even more trouble messing with the wiring, but it is done", Seto stated, handing the wired headset to Adam. He settled the headset onto his head and adjusts the microphone near his mouth.
Watching Sky adjust the mouthpiece, Seto couldn't help but bring up the situation that he and Sky are in. He asks him "Adam, are you sure you want to keep doing this? Maybe James was right. You should just tell Noah the truth and keep this situation from getting out of hand".
"And risk my friendship and his reputation to the whole world?! No way, and besides, I'm just doing my part as a friend since he is my friend", Adam replies in defense.
"Adam, the part of being a friend is to be honest with the person. If you keep lying, it's gonna all come crashing down on you and him eventually", Seto explained, trying to get through with the general of the Sky Army.
"But...I don't want to hurt him. I don't want to hurt anyone", Sky argued back, starting to feel defeated by Seto's arguments about everything that has happened.
"Well, the truth hurts, but it's the right thing to do", Seto remarked.
But then, the duo look up when they hear Lewis's voice again. "Noah will be singing "Raise Your Sword and Fight!" Enjoy the performance!" Seto moves his gazes towards Sky, who gives him a pained smile. "I'd better go get ready to sing over him. But as soon as this tour is over, everything will be fine".
Seto sighs as he gazes down at the floor and answers back "It better". Sky quickly turns and pads quietly to the edge of the curtain as he hears the song come on. Seto looks up as moments later, he hears Adam singing the song. Onstage, Noah sings loudly into his headset as the audience stare in amazement of his brilliant singing, completely unaware that Sky is the one who is singing.
Half an hour later after the show is over, Noah approaches the tour bus and is greeted by Lewis. "Hey Noah, great performance tonight", Lewis praised.
"Thanks. So how many shows do I have to do until the tour's over?", Noah questioned in curiosity. Lewis takes a glance down at his clipboard, then looks up and answers "Well, if all goes according to plan, you should perform at 7 different cities located across Minecraftia. And for the last location, you shall sing at Yogscast Studios, since it is no longer infested by rabbits".
"Rabbits?", Noah questioned in confusion.
Lewis winces slightly before saying "Yeah, don't ask me how they got inside. All I knew is that they were cute, cuddly, but bloody hell, they were vicious biters. One of our camera crew members even got bit in the no-no square".
Noah winces as he clutches his hands tightly from the last part.
"Well, we should get going while the night's still young", Lewis stated, then walks up the steps and enters the bus. Noah enters the vehicle soon after, and the doors slowly close up and the bus begins to take off from the building and to its next location.
Meanwhile, standing near the edge of the building where Noah had performed, Sky and Seto stand in complete silence. They glance at each other in worry, but Sky is still determined to go through with his plan. The general leaps off of the building, extending his wings out and starts gliding through the air. Seto follows behind him, activating his levitation powers and jumps off the building, soaring through the air as he leaves behind a trail of blueish particles.
As the tour bus traveled to each of its destinations, each visit to every famous music building or club, Noah stood upon every stage and sang out loud towards the audience, completely unaware that behind every backstage, standing above the stage on the catwalk, or hidden within every empty hallway, Sky was there and every song he sang, Sky sang over him and completely cuts-out Noah's not-so-perfect singing.
With each performance, word about Noah's talented singing spread from every community, town, or city like wildfire. Minecrafters of different kinds, from humans to humanoid hybrids, flocked to every show to see the singing Nether god.
However, as a result of each show in different locations, Sky's vocal cords slowly started to become strained from the constant singing and only given a break for a short time before having to be used again.
At a few moments, Sky felt that his voice was about to give out and everything will fall apart. However, he forced himself to push on, assisted by Seto with his potions to disguise his voice into Noah's and hacking into the headsets or microphones that Noah used to sing the songs.
Finally, after 3 days of traveling, the tour had finally come to an end. The final performance that Noah will perform is at Yogscast Studios tomorrow. Seto was relieved, but at the same time, was worried about the welfare for Sky. As soon as the tour was over, Seto and Sky returned back to the Butter Craft Airship.
Hours after they had arrived back, Seto pads through the hallways, searching for Sky to make sure he is alright. When he arrives near the clinic, his heighten senses alerted to him that Sky is behind the doors.
Acting quickly, the sorcerer pushes his way through the doors and enters the waiting room. He looks through some rooms before finding Oceanus, who was gazing closely into Sky's mouth with a laryngoscope. Seto pads into the room, Oceanus hears the footsteps into the patient room and moves the medical tool away from Sky and looks over his shoulder.
"Adam, are you okay?", Seto asked in worry. Sky doesn't do anything, only staring at the sorcerer with a sadden expression and doesn't give out a reply. Oceanus sighs as he turns completely around and explains "I'm afraid he isn't dandy, Seto. Due to the long periods of time where Adam had to stress his vocal cords out for singing, it's caused him a painful sore throat. He can't barely speak out without coughing".
"It's fine", Adam manages to speak out, but it results in him turning slightly and coughs for a couple of moments before regaining his breathe. Seto states "Dang it! I knew we should have not gone through with protecting Noah. Sky, you can't sing out at that last performance that Noah has".
"I have to", Adam whispered out, massaging his throat to lessen the strain on his throat, but it does little effect other than cause him some pain. "I can't abandon my promise".
"Sky, your promise has gotten out of control", Seto argued at him, but Sky retaliates by saying "It's just one last performance. Once it's done, everything will be done". Seto lowers his head as he ponders about it. He knew he had to convince Adam to just speak the truth, but after seeing what Adam had done to keep Noah's reputation in check, he felt a bit of sympathy for the general of the Sky Army, and especially after all of the trouble he has gone through for Noah.
After thinking hard about the situation, Seto sighs in defeat as he looks up and replies "Alright, Adam. But the next time something similar like this happens, you better not get involved".
"Promise", Sky answered, crossing his arm over his chest. Seto reaches into his cloak and pulls out two potions, one gleaming with a bluish-color while the other is glowing with a red-pink color. "Here, drink this healing potion first. It should get rid of your sore throat".
Adam grasps the healing potion from the sorcerer and starts drinking up the liquid inside. Immediately, he starts to feel relief on his strained throat and the pain diminishes soon after. Seto hands him the voice-changing potion. Adam grasps the bottle and starts drinking up the blue liquid. He gags when he accidentally taste the liquid along with the taste from the healing potion.
"Ugh, god, I'm always gonna get sick from drinking this", Sky whined in Noah's voice, moving the empty potion bottle away from his mouth. "Anyway, let's get going to Yogscast Studios".
Half an hour later, Sky and Seto had arrived at the Yogscast building. A large audience sat beyond the large, light-filled stage, along with some of Minecrafters from the Butter Craft Airship. And after Lewis announces the restoration of their building and the new season of "Minecraftia's Got Talent" starting a bit earlier than usual, he finishes off by introducing the first act for the first episode.
Stepping onto the stage is Noah, a microphone held tightly in his hand as he excitingly gets ready for the final act, already having plans to pursue his singing talent even more. Right behind the curtains, Sky stands with a mic also in his grasp. For some reason, he was also feeling excited as well.
And as soon as the song starts to play, Adam decides quickly to add a bit of emotion and loudness into the song. And as soon as the lyrical part begins, he sings out loud into the mic.
-Sky: (proudly) ACROSS the land, into the sky, yeah!
A warrior, I SHALL STAND!
Onstage, Noah nervously looks around as he shouts into the microphone, wondering how he could sing that loud and still sound great. The audience, meanwhile, stare in a bit of wonder and surprise, but don't question Noah's loud singing.
-Sky: INTO the light of DAY, there's nothing I would SAY,
to change WHO I am to be GRAND!
Sky sings loudly as his wings start to flutter and brings him into the air.
Meanwhile, within the large audience in the building, Tyler stares in anger as he watches the Nether god singing on stage, seething as he had wanted to be the one singing on the stage, but never got the chance.
"Stupid Noah and his no-good, surprisingly good singing", Tyler muttered to himself, crossing his arms over his chest. Shelby, who is sitting right besides him, gently rubs his arm as he tries to explain "Tyler, it's okay. You'll get your chance to sing one day".
"It isn't okay, Shelby", Tyler exclaimed, looking towards his girlfriend. "I should be the one singing up there. Everyone here is praising him not because he can sing, but because he's a god! He wouldn't know how to sing if it came and hit him on the face! In fact,". Tyler reaches into his pocket and pulls out an apple. He stands up from his seat and aims the apple for the singing god on the stage.
"Wait, Tyler! Let's not something we might regret", Shelby exclaimed, trying to keep Brotato from doing something that might hurt someone. Tyler replies to her "The only thing that will be regretted is the judges picking Noah over ME!" The man throws the apple with unexpected perfect accuracy and powerful speed.
The food item flies over the crowd, who glances up and watch the fruit fly over their heads. Noah continues to sing into the mic, but can only glance slightly to the left as he sees an apple zooming right for him. He gapes for a moment, then is knocked backwards as the apple strikes him in the head.
He loses his balance as he falls backwards, but sees the curtains and grabs onto the soft red fabric. One of the hooks holding to the curtain snaps, as well as the other hook holding the other end. Noah looks up before disappearing as the large red curtain falls over him. Strangely, Noah's voice can still be heard singing the song.
Moments later, Noah emerges from the fallen red curtains with a confused look as he looks at the microphone still clutched in his hand. He shakes it for a second, then looks upward and behind him and gapes as he sees Adam flying in mid-air while still singing in his voice, completely unaware of what has happened.
-Sky: YEAH, RAISE your sword and FIGHT! Yeah!
For what you think is RIGHT, YEAH!
Then, the song comes to a stop, but Sky still continues to yell out the lyrics. And slowly, he glances over his shoulder and ceases his singing.
-Sky: Don't let the mobs...take...the...night?
The Butter God gapes in shock as he sees all of the spotlights pointed down on him, an empty stage, and crowds of people stare in confusion and shock as what has unfolded in front of them. He looks around frantically as he tries to state an explanation, but he is filled with panicked feelings and anxiety as he quickly realizes his stage fright is taking over.
Then, without thinking, Adam flies across the air, away from the stage, and bursts his way through the double doors. Once he is gone, the audience starts to mutter and discuss what happened in front of them. Meanwhile, Noah sits himself up as he glances into the mic in his hand and questions to himself "What the Nether just happened?"
A few hours later, back at the Butter Craft Airship, the whole team and a couple of friends, including Tyler, are gathered in the lounge room, some of them glance at each other worryingly as they had heard what had took place back at Yogscast Studios. Then, they all turn towards the doorway as Noah pushes the door open and glances across the room, seeing some of the members staring at him and Mitch and Jerome sitting on a couch, though the cushions that they were sitting in on looks slightly bigger.
"Okay, where's Sky?", Noah exclaimed on slight anger as he steps further into the room.
"Uh...you mean the guy who likes butter?", Mitch questioned, leaning back onto the couch and tries to look as calm and relaxed as possible.
"No, the guy made out of melons- YES, the guy who likes butter!", Noah remarked sarcastically.
Tyler replies nervously "Uh, haven't seen him. I think he might be near the ocean about miles away from the ship, trying to kill squids. You better go check over there while we just sit on this couch, which definitely isn't hiding Sky". Noah cross his arms over his chest and lifts an eyebrow. Mitch glares at the man, who just glances defeated at him.
"Nice one, Brotato", Mitch commented. Noah sighs in agitation as he walks over to the couch and states "Sky, get out from under the cushions, Mitch, and Jerome!"
"NO! YOU'RE GONNA YELL AT ME!", Sky cried out, his voice is normal again as his cry is slightly muffled from the cushions.
"You're damn right I'm gonna yell at you! Have you been singing over me at every performance I've performed at?!", Noah questioned, gaining over anger each second.
Sky sighs in defeat as he responses "Okay, yes! Alright? But I had a good reason to, but I can't tell you 'cause I don't want to hurt your feelings". Noah backs away as he is taken back from what Sky had said, then replies "Sky, you can tell me anything. Just...tell me why you did this". A few quiet moments pass by, then Sky pokes his head out of a small space from the cushions.
He explains "Okay, the truth is...is..."- he stutters over his words for a moment, then takes a deep breathe as he must go through with what he has to say.
He glances up at the Nether god and states "The truth is...the truth is that Seto and I followed you around in the tour you were taking, and Seto provided me with potions to make my voice sound like yours so I could sing over the songs you sang 'cause...you're a not a very great singer".
"What do you mean? The judges told me that I sounded great", Noah stated, feeling more confused than before. Sky replies "I made them tell you a lie 'cause...I didn't want to see you get hurt and make you feel like you have no talent. And I did it because I wanted to protect you from getting embarrassed on stage when you sang".
"HA! I frickin' knew it!", Tyler exclaimed. He looks around as he sees everyone glaring annoyed at him. He chuckles weakly as he says "Heh...I should probably shut up...now".
Noah's body sinks slightly as he takes a step back. Unshed tears begin to form in his non-existent pupils, but he shakes them away as he gives a sad smile and says "Oh...that's okay. Yeah...um...if anyone needs me, I'll be going back to the Nether and spending the rest of my life there with no ambitions to look forward to now".
He barely manages to hold back a sob, then the Nether god quickly turns away and rockets out of the room. Everyone in the room looks away in guilt, lowering their gaze to the floor. Seto glances over Sky, who manages to pick his head up to meet his gaze.
"Sky...go find him and get things sorted out", Seto said, moving his head slightly towards the open door. Sky nods once, then Mitch and Jerome move off of the couch as Adam squeezes out of the cushions and gets to his feet. He glides out of the room, his butterfly wings fluttering as fast as he could move them.
Moments later, Noah lights up a Nether portal using flint 'n' steel. The purple swirls appears in the rectangular-shaped obsidian-made portal. He sighs as he is just about to step through the portal when he hears someone cry out "Noah!" The Nether god looks over his shoulder as Sky skids to a stop and looks up at him.
"Look, I'm sorry...for everything, Noah", Sky said, panting slightly from the run away from the ship and to where Noah is. Noah replies sadly "Adam, it's okay. It isn't your fault".
"No, it is. I'm the one who lied to you about everything. I knew I should have told the truth 'cause it's what a friend is supposed to do, but I completely swerved away from that", Sky admitted. Then he continues with "But just because you can't sing doesn't mean you don't have any talent. It will come to you eventually, but...I just wanted to apologize for lying and I hope you can forgive me". Noah looks towards the ground as he ponders for a moment, then looks up with a smile.
"I forgive you, Sky. Just next time, if you need to tell me something, don't be afraid to. It's hard to tell the truth about something to a friend and be afraid that you're gonna hurt their feelings, but it's necessary to avoid getting them into a situation", Noah said. Sky smiles in relief, so glad that everything in the end had worked out.
Then, Noah admits "And besides, being famous isn't all cracked up to be for me. I just want to remain the ruler of the Nether. But the time I spent with Yogscast was great. Those guys were pretty awesome to work with. But now, they're gonna have to find more contestants for their third season. Well, I better be heading back. Adam...thanks for protecting me and I'm sorry I had to put you through all that trouble".
"It's okay, Noah", Sky replied.
"Well...I'll see you later", Noah said and with that, the Nether god turns back around and heads through the portal, purplish fragments of magic swirl out of the portal. Sky takes a deep breathe, but feels content after what he did. It is hard to be honest to a friend, but it will save you from getting hurt, as well as the other person. And it proves that you're a real friend when you're honest.
I hope you guys enjoyed this long chapter of SkyShorts. I deeply apologize for the wait, as projects in school and work time prevented me from working on this chapter. And I also apologize in advance if the chapter felt rushed, but I just wanted to get a chapter in as soon as possible.
At the moment, I kinda don't have any hashtags right now, but I would really appreciate if you guys left feedback at the chapter. Hopefully, once summer FINALLY arrives, I can have more free time and work on these chapters and eventually, continue on The Rise of Enderlox.
So with that, I will see you awesome friends later :)
