Jade and Stone

"Yoruichi-san, you're looking well, especially for someone with teen-aged children." Urahara hid his smile behind his fan.

"I am going to let that slide today. I am in a good mood. Today is dairy delivery day. Unlike, you Sesshomaru keeps the fridge stocked with milk and cream.

"Sounds like things are going great."

"The kids are great. Ai is really fast. She'll carry on the title of Goddess of Flash when I am gone. Boa and Hina are just fun. They make me laugh. Cahya is a little sweetheart and kido prodigy. He even impressed Tessai. Ami is coming around. He trained with me and Ai the past two days."

"What about daddy demon?"

"Sesshomaru is avoiding me like the plague. I've been there almost a month and we've probably spent less than three hours together without the children. Enough about life at the castle, were you able to find anything on the Rose Stone?"

"I haven't found anything on the Rose Stone or a case remotely similar to yours. It has to be a demon thing. I wish could test the actual stone. I even ran it by Mayuri under the guise of something else. Don't worry he has no clue about you and your family. I am surprised he hasn't discovered the barrier around Sesshomaru's castle. Anyway Mayuri said it wasn't possible for someone to be born twice."

"If you've been in communication with Mayuri I know it wasn't just about the Rose Stone."

"A battle is inevitable and the time is growing near."

Stone

Sesshomaru gazed over his property from his bedroom balcony. It was a habit he'd formed while searching for Yoruichi. He'd stare out at nothing and at everything hoping to get a glimpse of Yoruichi. She's back but still lost. I don't know where to look to find her. The stone maker said the Rose Stone was unique. He could duplicate it but it would take at least 500 years. Yoruichi wanted to take the stone to her friend Urahara to test it in hopes that knowing how it works will help us return her memory. Sesshomaru closed his eyes. He opened his eyes and saw a little black cat on his shoulder.

"Long time no see, Sesshomaru. How was your trip?"

It was the first time he heard Yoruichi's voice in her cat form. He raised his eyebrow. "Yoruichi, what's wrong with you voice?"

"This how I always talk in my cat form I didn't sound like this before."

"You didn't speak you only meowed. I must say the meowing fits you better."

"Oh really" Yoruichi made herself comfortable. She curled up. "Your fur is amazingly soft. Who knew you were such a softy." Yoruichi closed her eyes.

Sesshomaru heard her soft purrs. He knew she'd fallen asleep. He stared at her for a while. It had been centuries since he'd carried her on his shoulder. He'd forgotten how relaxing her purring made him feel.

A little over an hour later Yoruichi felt the warm sun on her fur. She felt battling auras and clashing spiritual pressure. The feeling disturbed her forcing her from her slumber. She quickly scanned the battle field. She saw two 7 foot demon dogs with black fur and glowing red eyes. Cahya rode on the back of one of the demon dogs. Ai stood close to Cahya and the demon dog. On the opposite side stood Ami next the second demon dog.

Yoruichi glanced from the battle field to Sesshomaru. So Sesshomaru Hina and Boa inherited a demon dog form from you. At least they inherited my black fur.

The demon dogs growled at each other. Miasma dripped from their lips. Ami dig his heel into the ground. His began to glow red. He flashed stepped to Ai. Ami tried to kick her with a round house kick. She easily blocked it. Ami flipped back the other side. Ai pursued. Hina clawed at Ai shredding the sleeve of black top. Boa rushed Hina. She knocked Hina down. Boa was ready to pounce on Hina. She jumped. Ami grabbed Boa by the tail. She hit the ground face first.

"Bakudo No. 4". A bolt of lightning fired from Cahya's finger.

Ami barely dodged it. He wasn't able to dodge a kick from his twin. Ami fell to one knee. Ai came down him with a swooping kick. Ami recovered in time to block the kick. The twins continued to fight and so did the younger siblings.

A knot of worry formed in Yoruichi's stomach. They're good but with each passing moment I feel their spiritual pressure rise. The part that has me worried is how much their demonic aura has risen in the past few moments. "Sesshomaru, that's enough".

Sesshomaru turned to Yoruichi. She placed her paw on the crescent moon on his forehead. He could help but stare at her. It had been ages since she touched him like that.

"Sesshomaru"

Yoruichi's male voice broke him out his trance. "Yes."

"I think they should stop. The Gotei has sent spies to Karaurka Town. It'll only take a tiny leak of demonic aura through the barrier to draw their attention."

"Very well," Sesshomaru turned from Yoruichi "enough".

The children stopped immediately. They ran and lined up in front of Sesshomaru and Yoruichi. Boa and Hina transformed into their humanlike forms. Yoruichi could tell they were waiting for instructions or comments.

Yoruichi leaped down from Sesshomaru's shoulder. She sat in front of the children and twitched her tail. "I can tell you all have been training hard." The children stared blankly at her. "I guess you were expecting me to meow." The children shook their heads indicating yes in unison. "I normally talk like this in my cat form."

Ai scooped Yoruichi. "You're so cute." She gave Yoruichi a squeeze.

"I wanna hold her." Boa took Yoruichi from Ai. She nuzzled Yoruichi.

"My turn," Hina took Yoruichi. She kissed Yoruichi on the fore head.

"Me, me, I wanna hold her." Hina passed Yoruichi to Cahya. She filled Cahya's arms. He smiled at her.

"You held her longer, than I did"

"I wanna hold her again."

Ami took Yoruichi from Cahya. He held Yoruichi above his siblings' reach. He pulled Yoruichi down close to him once everyone stopped reaching for her. He held Yoruichi like a baby. "She's not a pet."

"No she's not." Sesshomaru took Yoruichi and placed her back on his shoulder.

"Father's right" Ai bowed "we apologize. We heard stories, but it's just we've never seen you in your cat form."

"It's ok. I'm surprised you never saw me in my cat form."

"Children, I need to speak to Yoruichi in private." Sesshomaru waited until children left. "You could not transform after we used the Rose Stone."

"Oh. Speaking of the Rose Stone, how'd it go with the stone maker? Urahara said he needs to test it. "

"He said he duplicate the stone in 500 years."

"I don't want to wait 500 years. I've been thinking, if the Rose Stone is a gem of some kind maybe it's still here. My body is buried in the rose garden right. We should dig it up and check."

"No"

"What do you mean no? It's not there or you don't want to dig me up."

"We, we shouldn't disturb your burial ground." Sesshomaru turned away from Yoruichi.

"I give you my permission. C'mon Sesshomaru you have big paws. I am sure you'd be able to do it a few seconds.

"Are you hungry? You're usually hungry after a nap."

"Hungry," wait the children said Sesshomaru never goes to the rose garden, "I guess you do know me. I'm famished".

Can You Dig It

Sesshomaru's mother arrived just as Sesshomaru and Yoruichi reached the castle. The sight of InuKimi brought a smile to Yoruichi's furry face. Sesshomaru saw the smile out of corner of his eye an uneasy feeling fell over him. "Mother what are you doing here?"

"I came to visit of course. Is Yoruichi trapped in the body of a cat again?"

"No, I just felt like a change."

All emotion fell from InuKimi's face. "From your voice I can tell it was a dramatic change."

"Mother"

"Sesshomaru will you be a dear and find me something to eat".

"What you like?"

"I want something wild." She leaped from Sesshomaru's shoulder. "I heard you're a great hunter."

Sesshomaru's eyes shifted from Yoruichi to his mother than back again. He slanted his eyes. "You're up to something."

"Yes, I am trying to trick you," she twitched her tail, "into catching a wild boar. I haven't had it in ages."

"Hmm, I'll take Ai and Ami with me. " Sesshomaru walked by Yoruichi and his mother. "I'll be back soon."

"Fine, I am going to get ready." Yoruichi flashed stepped away. She did not make another appearance until after Sesshomaru and the twins left the castle grounds. She found InuKimi in Sesshomaru's office.

InuKimi was staring at Yoruichi's portrait. "Yoruichi, you haven't lost your charm or your hold on my son," she turned and faced Yoruichi. "He does what you ask even when he knows he's being tricked." She looked Yoruichi up and down from her shoes to her purple ponytail. "I guess the change wasn't as dramatic as I thought."

"InuKimi I need your help. I need you to dig up my grave."

"So that's why you sent Sesshomaru away. Why do you want me to dig up your grave?"

"I want to retrieve the Rose Stone. I think it's still there. When I was knocked unconscious by elixir I had one dream. I dreamt I was on a beautiful tropical island. I climb to the top of a waterfall where a green tiger gave me a rose that looked like it was made from pink crystal. I woke when I pricked my finger on one of the rose's thorns. I was going to tell Sesshomaru about the dream today, but he changed the subject."

"We'll then we'd better hurry. Sesshomaru will be back soon.

InuKimi and Yoruichi walked to Yoruichi's rose garden. "It's really beautiful". Yoruichi looked from rose bush to rose bush. Every bush was perfectly pruned. "This garden is even more beautiful than my grandmother's garden."

In the middle of the garden was a fountain designed to look like small waterfall. The faux waterfall had five flat stones placed in harmony between the regular rocks. Each of the stones had something about Yoruichi carved into them.

"So this is where am I buried."

"Yes, you're under the waterfall. The children wrote the messages for the stones. Each stone represents each child. I'll have to dig it all up. I'll dig as fast as I can. We wouldn't want those intuitive human's seeing me. "

"Wait", Yoruichi pulled each of the stones the children created. She clutched the stones to her heart. "Dig me up."

InuKimi transformed. She took her massive paw and dig up the grave in one swipe. She returned to her human like form. InuKimi did everything in the less than 10 seconds, but that was not quick enough. Sesshomaru had been watching from afar. He'd sent the twins to find Yoruichi's boar. He teleported back to the castle. Sesshomaru arrived just as Yoruichi was about to open her coffin.

"Stop, Yoruichi, you don't want to do that."

"Sorry Sesshomaru I have to do this." Yoruichi took a deep breath. She pulled back the ragged led of the coffin. "It's okay it's empty except for the Rose Stone. It's a beautiful just like I dreamed it would be." It had bloomed into a beautiful pink jeweled rose with blood stained petals. Yoruichi picked up the rose colored jewel. The petals pierced her skin. Her grip tightened as thousands of memories flashed in her mind. The memories were vivid but brief. Most of the memories lasted less than a second.

Sesshomaru preyed the Rose Stone from Yoruichi's hand. Her eyes opened after he began to bandage her hand. "Are you okay, Yoruichi?" He caressed her cheek with the back of his hand.

She took her hand in his. "Yes". Yoruichi realized he was in Sesshomaru's bed. "How come every time I pass out I end up in your bed?"

"You're making jokes you must be feeling better". Sesshomaru started pulling his hand away. Yoruichi held on to it tighter. "What's wrong?"

Yoruichi heard the worry in his voice. It was the same worry she heard in several of the memories that played in her mind. "No need to worry Sesshomaru." A soft smile lit up her face. "Sesshomaru, when I held the Rose Stone, I saw it."

"What?"

"Everything, I saw everything. I saw my life with you. It was like I was watching a move on fast forward, but I could see every frame clearly."

"You remember." Sesshomaru smile for the first time in ages.

Her smile fell and his soon followed. "Sesshomaru, I saw it but it was like looking at a movie of someone else's life." Yoruichi read the sadness in his eyes. It pained her. He had the same look in his eyes she told him the Rose Stone was blooming. "Sesshomaru this is good news. We're closer to getting my memory back all we need is a big green tiger." She jokingly asked, "Do you have one?"

"No, but you do."

"My memories came in bits and pieces but don't remember seeing a green tiger."

"The dragon gave you a jade tiger. Do you remember what he said?"

"I saw the dragon and the jade tiger, I just remember him saying, "Fare thee well.""

"Before that he said, "The jade tiger is yours, your responsibility and must remain in your family line. It will bring goodness to your children." The waterfall version of you said everything I needed to find you was in these walls. I know having you back is what the children want most of all."

"Where's the jade tiger?"

"I'll get it." Sesshomaru walked over to Yoruichi's closet. He moved several boxes before finding the locked box that contained the jade tiger. The tiger became restless the closer Sesshomaru got to Yoruichi. The tiger calmed down as soon as Yoruichi placed her hand on the box.

"I think it likes me." She took the box and the key from Sesshomaru. She slowly turned the key. The tiger roared as soon as the box opened. Yoruichi and Sesshomaru noticed the Rose Stone and the jade tiger started to glow. Yoruichi placed one hand on the tiger and one the rose.

Her mind flooded with memories. Not as many memories filled her mind this time. These memories were complete. Each memory included the emotions associated with that memory. The memories were more vivid. Yoruichi lived each memory in her mind. She experienced the sights, smells, sounds, touch, and taste associated with the memories. When it was all over Yoruichi was exhausted. She fell asleep.

Midnight

Yoruichi woke at midnight. The first sight she saw was Sesshomaru. His face was illuminated by the full moon. The sight of him made her remember their first kiss under the full moon. An unbelievable sensation rushed through her body. The thoughts of his touches tinged her skin. She could taste his kiss. Everything came back passion, pain, joy, and love. The rush took her breath away.

Sesshomaru brought her closer. She felt is heartbeat quickened. The beat of his heart was all should could at first. Soon the sound her name cut through the beat. Her eyes opened once more.

"Yoruichi are you"

She stole his words with a soft kiss. The kiss awakened all the passion Yoruichi had locked inside. The kiss became more passionate. She sucked his bottom lip. The act sent a bolt of desire through Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru told Yoruichi how much he missed her with kisses. She told him how she felt through her touches. They reconnected with each other and continued relearning each other until Yoruichi fell asleep in his arms.

Sesshomaru watched Yoruichi sleeping. Every move she made put him on alert. He worried that she'd wake-up without her memory again. Sesshomaru also worried he was the one dreaming. It felt like a dream. He and Yoruichi were together again. Every once and awhile Sesshomaru dreamt he and Yoruichi were together. It all seemed so real. Then he'd wake up alone. He'd felt the same emptiness he felt the day Yoruichi died.

"This has to be real", he mumbled. Sesshomaru watched as the sun crept into the room. "It's a new day, a new day with Yoruichi." Sesshomaru didn't' want to wake her. He waited for the sun to vanquish the darkness. Sesshomaru watched Yoruichi's face as the light hit her. She began to stir. His body stiffened slightly.

Her eyes opened. She stared at him. Her expression held no joy. Sesshomaru sighed. Her eyes shifted away from him for a moment.

Sesshomaru read the seriousness in her eyes when their eyes locked. "Sesshomaru, I want you to take the children a leave."

"You want use to leave."

"It's for the best Sesshomaru. I've got a bad feeling. I wrestled with it most of the night. When I got my memories back it was like a missing part of my life being woven into my mind. I remember events starting from the day I joined with the Rose Stone. Everything about my past with you lives in me. Every feeling I had for you and our family beats in my heart. I won't let anything happen to you all."

"Yoruichi, nothing is going to happen. I'll make sure of that. I, Sesshomaru"

Yourichi placed her finger on Sesshomaru's lips. "You promised me. You said you'd take the children away when I told you to. I'm telling you to take them away Sesshomaru. Soon it'll be too dangerous for you all to stay. Sesshomaru you're too powerful. Central 46 will see you as a threat. The Gotei 13 will attack and even with our friends we would lose the battle versus the Gotei 13."

"Yoruichi, I just got you back I don't want to leave you. The children and I have waited so long." He cupped Yoruichi's cheek. "Don't send us away so soon."

"We'll be together again".

"You never spoke of your battle with Aizen. You'll be unprepared. How can you expect me to sit back and do nothing?"

"You'll be protecting our children, Sesshomaru, that's something. It's what I want. It's something only you can do". She took his hand. "We'll stay together for the rest of the week then you'll take them away. Promise"

Sesshomaru read Yoruichi's eyes. He knew he was not going to win this battle. "I…" his lips met hers.

"I'm going to take that as a yes."

"You can take it". He stole another kiss.

"Sesshomaru, we should stop"

"Why?"

"Because the children are on the other side door, they're burning incense to cover up their scents but they can't hide their spiritual pressure".

Sesshomaru sighed. He used his demon powers to form his armor as soon as he stepped of bed. A few seconds later he opened the door. Sesshomaru's glare pierced the children.

His children stared at him frozen in embarrassment. They did not know what to do. Luckily InuKimi arrived to rescue them.

"Good morning children. Run along children I am sure your father and mother have a lot to discuss." Inukimi lowered her voice. "Hurry along I want that sixth grandchild before I am old and gray".

Sesshomaru shut the door. He could still hear the children talking as they walked down the hall. He knew were happy without understanding what they were saying. Then he turned and saw Yoruichi waiting for him bed. "It's real" he whispered. Yoruichi saw him smile. She smiled in return. Sesshomaru was back in bed with Yoruichi before she could speak. He pulled her close him. He nuzzled her ear. "Welcome back, Yoruichi".
