A.N Sorry for the spelling mistakes my glasses are broken and my new ones won't come in for another few days. And I realized I made a mistake about Kida's age. She is Asgardian and was born at the same time as Thor and Loki and was a childhood friend. Since she was in ice for thousands of years she looks like she's sixteen like Steve still looks like he's in his 20's even though he served in WWII. But Steve and Kida won't have a relationship yet and that will be explained in the next chapter or two. Also I apologize for the were and where mistakes. But I hope you enjoy this next chapter please review with your thoughts and/or opinions.
Hours later,
It took a few minutes for Tony to arrive, as he was talking to a doctor a nurse put an IV in her arm and she stopped convulsing. When everything calmed down Natasha ran down the hallway.
"Rogers what the hell happened?" Natasha asked
"She walked to the lab and collapsed, she had a fever that kept escalating." Steve explained with a lump in his throat "Then she started convulsing, but she stopped."
Steve looked up to see Tony sitting next to her bed holding her hand as she slept as Bruce looked at a tablet behind Tony. Phil walked towards them after talking to the doctor.
"Her blood pressure is normal, there are no signs of cancer, a stroke, or a tumor." He stated "She doesn't even have a cold."
"But there is something," Bruce said as he walked out into the hall
"What?" Steve asked
"I've detected strange energy patterns from her necklace, when she put it on the huge amount of energy made her sick. But now her body is getting used to it."
"Is there any way to take the necklace off?" Natasha asked
"No, whatever it is it's not found on the periodic table. I've used the sharpest tools in there and barely made a scratch."
"She's waking up" Steve was about to run in but Natasha stopped him
"Let Tony talk to her first, we don't want to overfill the room." She said and he nodded
Kida's P.O.V
I slowly opened my eyes to see a white room; I blinked my eyes and saw my dad's face.
"Kida can you hear me?" He asked
"Daddy" I said
He smiled and quickly jumped from his seat and hugged me; he kissed the side of my head and held my face in his hands.
"Thank god you're better" I could see tears in his eyes "I was so scared I thought I lost you"
"I'm feeling fine dad, just thirsty"
"I'll go get you some water"
Before I could say anything he jumped up and ran out the room to find some water. Then Steve ran in and closed the door behind him as Natasha, Bruce, and Phil talked.
"Hey" I said smiling
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he sat down on the side of the bed
"Fine" I said softly "how's everyone else?"
"Worried but relieved you're ok"
"Good"
"Kida, where did you get that necklace?" Steve asked
I opened my mouth to answer but I couldn't, this sudden feeling of fear washed over me leaving me speechless and paralyzed. I closed my eyes and put my hand on my neck where Loki almost strangled me.
"Kida please"
"Loki" I said with a shaky voice "I woke up this morning and he was there and he put this necklace on me. It's taking my powers, and I don't know how to make it stop."
I felt a lump in my throat; I closed my mouth and looked down. I felt weak and vulnerable; when I was younger I would've dreamed of having no powers. To be normal, but now with Loki trying to take over the world, I needed them more than ever. I heard shouting down the hall and Thor barged in.
"Kida" He ran to the bed and hugged me "Son the Coul told me what happened."
"Where's Loki?" Steve asked
"In his cell, did he do this?" I simply nodded my head
"We need to take that necklace off" Steve said "it's what's making you sick and taking your powers."
"Why isn't it off yet?" I asked
"There's no clip and the tools we have barely made a scratch." Steve said
"What if we try and convince him to take it off?" I suggested
"We could send in Natasha to talk to him" Steve said "I'll tell her"
Steve got up and kissed the side of my head before walking out of the room. Thor watched him leave and turned to me.
"It seems as though the captain has feelings for you"
"What?" I scoffed "I have no idea what you mean"
"Do you have feelings for the captain?" He asked
I looked away from him and looked back, I didn't know how to put it into words. Ever since I met Steve, whenever I was with him, everything seemed better. There was nothing bad or wrong, I felt like I could be myself around him.
"Thor I"
"It's ok Kida I understand, but that won't change Odin's decision. You have to tell the others, or I will."
With that he left, I covered my face with my hands, why is this happening to me? I wanted to stay on Earth while I still could, as long as no one knows my true parentage. My dad walked in and handed me my water,
"I've talked to Bruce, while we're looking for the cube we'll try to find a way to get that thing off." I took a few small sips. "I need you to stay here while Natasha tries to get Loki to take it off."
"But dad I-"
"No buts, I almost lost you today I won't let that happen again."
He kissed the side of my head and left with Bruce, I looked up to see no one in the hallway. I was alone; I wasn't going to stand around like a sitting duck. I wanted my powers back and I wanted them back now. I pulled the IV out of my arm and jumped out of the bed, I opened the door and looked down the hallways to find it empty. I ran down the hallway and asked some agents where Natasha was until I made my way to the cell. I turned around a corner to see her walk out of the room. I jumped back and hid,
"Crap" I thought
I ran down the hall into another corner and hid behind a pile of boxes. I heard her footsteps fallow me and held my breath. I watched through a small space between the boxes, she looked around the room with her gun on her hip. Then she turned around and left, I stood up and walked back to the cell. There was a large man with a key card hanging off of his belt, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the pepper spray Phil gave me.
"You can't be down here," He said
I sprayed the pepper spray into his eyes and he screamed in pain, he stepped back and tripped over a ledge. He slammed onto the ground and knocked himself unconscious.
"Sorry" I said
I grabbed his key card and opened the door, I stepped inside and it slid behind me. I walked up the metal steps until I stood in front of the glass cage. Loki stood in the center of the cell with his back to me.
"I didn't expect you to visit me so early" He said
"You know why I'm here, I want you to get this necklace off me."
"Why would I do that?" He turned around to face me "It suits you"
"I want it off now"
"Ooh, why do you want it off so badly?" He walked closer to me "Does it remind you of Luke?"
I felt my heart stop; I tried my hardest to keep my face stoic. Make it look like it didn't affect me, but it did.
"Do you still hope he'll come back?" He asked his tone changing "That he'll love you again?"
"Luke is dead to me" I said "how did you know about him?"
"Because Kida" There was a flash of green light "I am Luke"
When the light died down, I felt like I was going to be sick, standing in the middle of the cell was Luke. He looked the same way he did when he left; I covered my mouth with my hands and shook my head.
"Oh yes what will your friends think when they realize you dated the god who will rule your planet?" He said "What will they think when they discover your true parentage?"
"Shut up!" I screamed and ran to the door but it wouldn't open
"You can't hide from what you are Kida!" He screamed, he smiled as he watched me try to leave "They now know what you are. And you cannot escape from it."
"You're a monster," I said with a shaky voice
The doors opened and I ran outside and the door closed behind me. I ran down the halls with tears in my eyes. I ran as fast as I could to the labs, I found my dad with everyone else watching the security camera. He turned around to face me,
"Kida what was he talking about?"
"Dad I-" I swallowed the lump in my throat "I need to explain"
"You better explain" He said raising his voice "I told you to stay put and you go running to that psycho that almost killed you this morning! You lied to me Kida. What else have you lied about?"
Everyone turned and stared at me confused and waiting for me to speak, it was so quiet I could hear my heart pounding in my chest.
"They have to know Kida" Thor said
"What is Thor talking about?" Steve asked
"When I went to New Mexico, I said I didn't find anything about my parents." I took in a deep breath "I lied, Thor knew my parents."
"What?" My dad said "Kida that makes no sense"
"Dad, I'm asgardian" I blurted out loudly, everything was quiet "my birth mother sent me to Earth thousands of years ago to try and save me. Thor's dad tried to find me but couldn't, until a couple months ago."
"And that's why the All-Father has ordered me to take Kida home, to Asgard, after the battle is done." Thor said
"You planned on leaving" Steve said
"He didn't tell me until last night" I said "it's not my choice"
"Why didn't you tell us?" My dad asked, "Why didn't you tell me or Pepper? Or Rhodes?"
"Because" I stepped back as my dad yelled louder
"Because what Kida?" He yelled
"BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID!" I screamed "I was afraid you would lock me into some kind of asylum thinking I was crazy. Or throw me into a lab to study me because I am so far from human. I just wanted to be your daughter just a little while longer. I wanted to be human just a little while longer."
He just looked at me, it looked like he had pity in his eyes. He was sad, for me, I stepped closer with open arms but he turned around and ran his hand through his hair and down his face. I turned to Steve, who looked down confused.
"Steve I"
"Kida, you dated Loki" He raised his head and looked into my eyes "why?"
"I didn't know it was him, he tricked me, if I knew I would've never talked to him please you have to believe me." I said
"I'm going to go clear my head" He said before walking out of the room, feeling desperate I turned to my dad.
"Daddy" I said "please say something"
"I'm working Kida" He said with his back to me, he didn't even look at the reflection or me "go to your room"
My mouth clamped shut but my lips started to tremble, I ran past Thor and Natasha to the hallway. I ran to my room and slammed the door shut. I cried, and cried, letting out ugly cries and feeling my throat clench. My body shook with each cry that escaped my trembling lips I was a complete mess. I wanted to scream but I was too busy sobbing, I knew I looked weak and broken. Because I was, now that they know what could be keep me here? There's nothing left for me to lose. There was a knock on my door.
"Go away!" I cried out
"Kida, we need to talk now," Natasha said
"What do you want?"
"I need to talk to you now please let me in" I stopped crying,
I stood up and opened the door a little bit, she was alone so I stepped back and let her in. I closed the door and I sat on the edge of my bed and she sat on a chair in front of me.
"Kida I know you're going through a tough time right now"
"A tough time" I interrupted "my dad can't look at me in the eyes anymore. The guy I'm starting to like can't even be near me. They think I'm a freak"
"No they don't"
"Yes they do Natasha, I'm not even human"
"Do you want to know who you are Kida?" She said and I nodded my head yes "You are the strongest, bravest, and toughest girl I've ever met. You are just as human as anyone else on this ship. You decide who you want to be. Don't let your parentage decide what kind of person you are. And asgardian or not, you are still Kida Stark to us, and that's all that matters."
The tears slowly stopped rolling down my cheeks; in one swift movement I wrapped my arms around her and buried my face into her shoulder.
"Thank you Natasha, but how will my dad and I get along now?" I asked "Or Steve?
"I know Stark, and he loves you there's nothing that can change that." She said "He just needs some time to process this new information. Then he'll be back to normal."
"What about Steve?"
"That's your responsibility, if you really do like him then you'll fight to get him back."
"Thanks Natasha" I smiled and wiped the wet trail of tears off my face
"It's no trouble Kida," She hugged me one more time and walked to the door "and also Phil wants to see you. He's downstairs in room 52-L."
"Ok"
She walked out and I wiped the remaining tears away, my eyes turned back into their normal white color and I left. I walked to the lowly lit room and saw Phil standing at a table.
"Hey Phil" I said closing the door behind me "Natasha told me you wanted to talk to me."
"I did, there's something that I've hidden from you Kida." He didn't turn around to face me "Now that Loki might take over, there's no need to hide it anymore."
"Phil, what are you talking about?"
He turned around and walked to a screen on the wall, it lit up and he pulled up documents and pictures.
"Almost seventeen years ago, I was sent to investigate a strange energy source in a mountain in Norway. I sent seven men into a cave where the energy was coming from, they all died. When I walked into that cave I saw what they discovered." He stepped back from the screen and I walked to it, it showed a woman the same one from my dreams and a strange round egg shaped object next to her. She was completely frozen in ice. "She was still alive, when she thawed out she killed the men in order to protect the craft."
"Phil" I swallowed the lump in my throat "what was in the craft?"
"A baby girl" He said as I stared at the picture of the frozen woman. "She was still alive, so I took the baby to a SHIELD base. There Romanoff, Barton, and I all took care of the baby. Until one day when there was an ambush when Romanoff was taking the child from one base to a SHIELD aircraft carrier. That's when we decided to take her to a foster home, were we hoped she would have a safe and normal life. That child was you Kida."
"You knew who my mother and you kept it from me." I turned around to face him "How could you?"
"We were trying to protect you"
"Protect me? For years I was chasing ghosts! I believed my parents were out there alive when really they were already dead." Anger flowed through me; I walked past him to leave
"Kida wait"
In one quick moment, I turned around using my momentum to slap my hand as hard as I could onto his cheek.
"Don't ever talk to me again Agent" I hissed
"Kida please stay," He said as I walked into the hallway
"Don't talk to me like I'm some sort of dog" I said "The second the tesseract is found I'm gone"
