Annebeth
They had completely seized control of everything about. Olympus had been won over.
The only thing that remained was the fight between annebeth and Gaea.
"no matter how many times you knock us down, we will get up!" Annebeth yelled as she ran towards Gaea with her sword drawn.
Gaea let her into her area.
Annebeth swung her sword accross Gaea's Torso but to her Earth like skin didn't even have scratch marks. Gaea extented her left hand to Annebeth's head. time slowed down for Annebeth.
this is probably a punch. If I dodge the right direction, she will have her right hand ready with a reinforcement punch. but if I bend leftwards, she will not be able to hit me easily and I can drive my sword into her and wound her before she can hit me. I will have to inflict as much damage as possible.
Annebeth dodged leftwards. but she extended out he middle finger and flicked it into the air. Annebth thought she was nuts and was about to attack when a huge rock at her feet moved forward knocking her down at her feet. That was when she stomped her feet and a block of Earth emerged from the Earth lifting Annebeth up.
Gaea just gently pushed it with her finger and the block moved forward taking annebeth with it.
because of the momentum, Annebeth luckily fell off the block. She sat up catching her breath but before that could happen, another block came following up. it hit her pushing her forward and she collided with the previous block which had stopped moving. She was stuck between the two blocks. The blocks kept coming closer and started crushing her bones.
The pain was excruciating.
Out of nowhere there was a golden flash in front of her and there stood Athena in full battle armour.
She fought Gaea head to head. Easily being able to predict and dodge all her moves. She countered them with unbelievable strength.
the blows that she inflicted on Gaea were deep and clearly visible. Although annebeth couldn't focus on the battle because of the pain that the block of Earth which crushed her entire body leaving her head. Annebeth kept trying to stay conscious because she knew what would happen if she fainted.
Her breathing got Heavy. She remembered the underwater kiss she had with Percy after the Titan war.
"I only remembered one word-Annebeth" Percy had said when she had found him in camp Jupiter.
When she had outwitted Arachne, she was so happy and not so while later, her being in percy's arms.
Nothing like that mattered now. She would die now and not even end up in elysium because she didn't deserve it, that's where Percy belonged.
They said that Demigods die young. So this was it for her.
She lost conciousness. Her eyes opened in a dark place.
She was in line of souls, It just kept going on and on.
Although, the line moved at a fast pace, it was still an eternity before she reached the god of judgement. Cerebrus bent next to her expecting her to throw a ball.
"Sorry Cerebrus, I can't do that now" she said.
"Annebeth chase" the god of Judgement said "let's see here. hmm... a demigod of Athena. Outwitted most of her cabin mates. Defeated arachne, pretty amazing. Crossed tarturus, very impressive. Died fighting Gaea. Very brave. Elysium it is"
"But I-"
"You have a problem with that?" he asked.
"No" she said.
She was about to move forward towards Elysium when a force pulled her back.
"Seems like it is not your time yet" said The god of Judgement.
She flew back to the start of the line, across the river styx and finally into the light.
She opened her eyes to see Percy looking back.
"Everything is ok now" he said.
She sat up to see the whole battlefield seemed calm. In fact there were only demigods and gods.
"Athena and I defeated Gaea" Percy said "She was pretty easy to defeat"
Annebeth looked next to her, it was Athena fainted.
"Did she tire herself out, fighting?" asked Annebeth.
"No, I don't know how to say this but" Percy sighed "she died trying to revive you, you are now immortal and have similar powers to hers"
"How-how can this be?" Annebeth asked suddenly having her daughterly love being awakened.
"Apparently all gods can do this" said Percy "poseidon did the same for me. When I asked her why would she give up her life for you, she replied that you were the demigod that she had awaited all her life, someone as wise and strong as you. she said that you were worthy of becoming the next Athena"
Annebeth couldn't believe that this happened so suddenly. Annebeth let her tears loose.
Percy hugged her.
They were gods now, the thing that they fear most had come to pass. Eventually, a thousand or two years later, they might become like the other gods but that transition will be painful.
