Chapter 25

Over the following week Naruto barely let Nao out of his sight. Nao was utterly sick of it. Her clingy brother was getting on her last nerve.

Naruto was worried that this was all some sort of dream and she was still missing. Therefore he had to have physical evidence that she was indeed standing next to him.

Sasuke and Gaara were both in agreement with Nao. Naruto's obsessive behavior with his sister was extremely excessive.

Exactly two weeks later at lunch, Nao had had enough. "Naruto! If you do not back off and give me a little space, I am going to hurt you."

Naruto didn't think she actually would hurt him. "Nao, I am just making sure you are ok,," he said innocently.

"I am FINE!"

"She's right Naruto. You have been extremely clingy lately," Hinata commented as she sat down next to Gaara. Naruto was on one side of Nao and Gaara was on the other. "Are you sure you are alright?"

"I am fine."

"You do not act like it," Choji said from his seat next to Hinata.

"What about Sasuke? You have barely said two words to the guy," Hinata commented.

"He's fine," Naruto said.

"Then why is he chatting with Sai," Gaara asked. Naruto looked towards Sasuke. Sasuke was at the table with Kiba, Kankuro, Neji and Tenten. Sasuke was talking to a boy their age that had short, straight black hair and dark eyes. His skin was pale.

"Who is that guy," Naruto asked.

"He is in most all our classes and from the rumors he is gay and Very interested in Sasuke," Gaara answered him. Naruto did not like the looks of this 'new' guy. Naruto got up and went over to sit in the empty seat next to Sasuke. Sai looked down at him with a frown.

"You are a genius, Gaara. Thank you," Nao said as she laid her head on his shoulder.

"He is being ridiculous," Gaara replied.

"Naruto has been spending way too much time with his sister and not enough time with me," Sasuke thought as he watched Naruto cling to his sister. While Naruto was with his sister, Sasuke was stuck with Kiba and Kankuro. They both had no idea how to deal with Sasuke's mounting anger at their blond headed friend. Unfortunately Sai had decided to intervene. The straight faced devil was completely and obviously into Sasuke. Sasuke did his best not to notice the boy, but Sai was being obnoxiously persistent.

A few moments later, Kiba watched as Naruto got up from his seat next to Nao. With an impressively pissed off expression on his face, Naruto came over to their table and sat in the unoccupied seat next to Sasuke. Kiba watched as Sai, who was leaning on the end of the table next to the seat Naruto just took, gave the blond an irritated look.

"And who might you be," Sai asked Naruto. sai's tone clearly stated that the blond was not welcome.

Sasuke saw the opportunity to get the creep away from him so he said, "this is my boyfriend." Naruto smiled and Sai gasped almost inaudibly.

"That's right," Naruto said. "So you had better keep on stepping."

"If you are his boyfriend, then why have you left him all to himself for the past two weeks. I would never be able to let him out of my sight, the delicious looking thing," Sai purred seductively.

"You see that girl over there," Naruto asked. "The one that looks just like me?"

Sai looked. "So? What about her?"

"That's my twin sister," Naruto said as if that explained everything.

"And." Sai was not impressed.

"She just got out of jail for killing the last person who tried to take my boyfriend from me," Naruto lied. Sai took a step back then looked over at Nao again. Nao smiled evilly at him and he gulped. "Why don't you save us a whole lot of aggravation and go someplace else." Sai nodded his head and left them.

"Nice of you to notice," Sasuke said.

"Notice what," Naruto asked.

"That if you had not come over here when you did, I would have been the one in jail." Sasuke place his arm around Naruto's shoulder.

"Why would you have gone to jail?"

"Because I was inches away from killing him," Sasuke answered.

"Oh... Well I am glad I got here in time then."

"Just kiss him already, Sasuke," Kankuro said. Sasuke smirked.

"Mind your own business, Kankuro," Sasuke growled. "I am not kissing this idiot."

"Why not," Naruto asked.

"Come talk to me when you figure that out," Sasuke said as he got up just as the bell to end lunch rang. Sasuke ignored Naruto for the rest of the day.
