Alright everyone! Here is the new chapter for Frozen Roses. I own nothing pertaining to the movie, but I do own the OC characters so please don't steal!
I will estimate maybe another 1-3 chapters more of this story before it is complete! I hope all of you are enjoying it! R&R!
"Well, well," Pitch said, staring down at them with a proud smile. As if he believe he had already won this battle. "The gangs all here,"
North stepped forward, taking charge. "This will end in the same way it did before."
"And you think you can win against us?" Max said, crossing his arms and glaring down at the group, eyes roaming over them before locking onto Crystal and holding.
Crystal glared right back, stepping next to North this time, facing her own fears. "I know we will. As long as children out there believe, we survive."
"Once we destroy you, they will no longer believe." Gothel scoffed, angry that such a small brat like Crystal would talk back.
Jack chuckled and stood on top of his staff, making it look as if this was another game for him. "If you can destroy us that is. From what I can tell, you're nowhere close."
"Oh really?" Pitch asked, his smile growing wider as his eyes pierced them coldly.
Crystal felt a shiver go down her spine and an ominous feeling show up behind her. She turned on her heel quickly looking over at Jack and her eyes widened. "Jack! Jump!"
He did just that without hesitation, narrowly missing the bite Dragoon was aiming for his staff and legs. Sandy waved his hand and slammed his sand into Dragoon, flinging him to the side and away from Jack as he landed. A shiver ran down Crystal spine again as she felt something wrap around her ankle, before pulling her up into the sky and flinging her upwards.
She spun in the air, trying to get a bearing for where the ground was before she completely lost her hold on reality. She closed her eyes, gathering the winds around her. She had it reverse the way she was spinning, catching her mid air and hovering her in the air for a moment as she looked down. It was as if that attack broke it all loose. Hiccup climbed onto Toothless, ready to come up after her and get her down. Pitch and his team rushed after the guardians and Rapunzel, Merida, and Sera rushed behind the guardians to help. Toothless flew past her as Hiccup grabbed her waist and pulled her onto the dragon behind him.
"You okay?" Hiccup asked, looking back at her carefully.
"Fine," She said, staring down at the field still.
Rapunzel flung her hair at Bor'du, wrapping it around his leg and pulling at the same moment Merida shot an arrow and narrowly missed Max. A pounding force slammed into the side of Crystal, making her fly off of Toothless, and making Hiccup and Toothless spin out of control from the force. Dragoon and Toothless locked claws as Hiccup and her fell quickly towards the ground.
"Hiccup!" She shouted through the rushing air that was splitting her ear drums. She reached her hand out towards him, desperately trying to reach him before they impacted. Their hands locked and she twisted her body, waving her hand as she urged the flowers to grow incredibly tall and soften their impact.
"Close call," Hiccup sighed, sitting up and rubbing his back.
"Quickly!" She said, sliding off the flower and running towards the others. She couldn't take the chance of wasting a moment to check over herself or worry at the moment.
Bunny threw his boomerang over her head, hitting a nightmare that was charging at her. She stopped and stared, before turning to Bunny and nodding a quick thanks. She ran forward once again, sliding underneath Tooth who was fighting another nightmare horse and getting back up again. The tension was everywhere as she glanced around. She didn't know who to go to first, it was everywhere, and yet she wasn't fearful for any of them.
She crouched down, slamming her hands to the ground, before lifting them up into the air and making vines fly out erratically, hitting the nearby nightmares that were causing problems for them. She moved her arms to the right, making the vines wrap around Sera and fling her towards Pitch.
"Sera! Stop him!" She commanded her, knowing it was a risk, but also feeling like Pitch wouldn't do anything to hurt his daughter.
Sera let out a feral yell as she let the momentum of Crystal's throw, rocket her towards Pitch. Pitch looked up with a glare, before deflating and dropping his hands in disbelief. Sera clapped her hands in front of her forcefully, letting a powerful, tsunami level, gust of wind to whiplash towards him. Pitch raised his arms and at the last moment put up a wall of dark sand to stop the wind. Sera dropped in front of him, her hands clenching in her inner turmoil of fighting her father.
"Seraphina, my dear daughter," Pitch said, eyes saddened by her traitorous act. "Please, don't do this."
Sera unclenched her hands, letting the hurt in her fathers eyes defeat her momentarily, before clenching them again and putting up a stubborn act. "No. I cannot let you hurt people father! It's not right to harm others, especially children!"
Toothless slammed to the ground as Hiccup rushed to his side, grabbing an eel out of his vest and throwing it at Dragoon who backed up hissing, as if it were a poison. Bunny was backing up Tooth as the nightmares Crystal could reach were surrounding them, reappearing as fast as they made them disappear. Sandy touched Nightmare after Nightmare, turning them into his yellow sand and changing them to good.
Max worked with North as they collided with swords, hacking at each other and blocking, making the sound of metal clash through the air and ring in everyone's ears. Merida and Rapunzel were fighting Gothel as she slashed at them with a knife, trying to cut Rapunzel's hair, or staying to close in range for Merida to shoot well. Crystal narrowed her eyes, watching as Merida shot an arrow and nicked Gothel's cheek slightly. Gothel's cheek healed instantly, as if she had just used Rapunzel's hair.
"Merida! The necklace!" She shouted to the red head, seeing the necklace's glow die down after the wound was healed completely.
Merida caught on quickly as she pointed an arrow at Gothel, but she wasn't the only one who heard, Gothel also heard and instantly began blocking the necklace any way she could, not giving the archer a chance. Bor'du slammed through nightmare's as he charged towards Merida, ready to take revenge for what she did to him last time. Crystal looked closer and saw it once again, the same necklace on Bor'du as Gothel.
It was a small jewel ball that was the size of a quarter on the chain, and it was black until it glowed, then it almost shined like metal. Crystal shifted her feet, letting the vines grow underneath her this time, launching her into the air and towards Bor'du.
Crystal let out a yell as she kicked Bor'du in the head, temporarily shocking him and knocking him slightly to the side. She grabbed the necklace, trying to tear it away from him forcefully. Her muscles tensed as an electrical shock ran through her arm and down her body, paralyzing it quickly. Darkness wrapped around her arm, crawling its way up to her in a spiral. Her heart beat quickly in fear as she watched it, unable to move.
Bor'du whipped his neck around, flinging her free from his necklace and to the ground. She skidded across the floor, before Jack landed behind her and stopped her from going any further.
"You okay?" He asked worriedly, seeing her arms shake as she sat up.
"It won't be so easy to grab the necklaces." She said, glaring at the necklace and Bor'du who was now staring her down in anger. She looked around and found Max as he fought North. The same gleam came from around his neck as he slashed and twisted with North against the swords. "Can you take the bear for a bit?" She asked Jack, not glancing away from the necklace on Max.
"Yeah," He nodded, throwing up an ice wall, making Bor'du slam into it with his head. "I got it,"
Crystal nodded and pushed off the balls of her feet, launching her forward towards Max and North. Her mind whirled quickly as she thought about when she fought with Tyler. It was the same dark feeling she had against him as she touched the necklace. If she could just bring that same power of light to stop the necklace just enough for her to break it from them, it could help them win.
She ducked under their swords before standing up completely with her arms out. It took all her strength to keep the fear away from her muscles and override her brain that was telling her to fall to the ground in avoiding the sharp edges.
"You want to die?" North shouted, stopping his blades and jumping backwards from her.
Crystal stood her ground as she stared intensely at her uncle, watching the blades come towards her in slow motion before stopping just before her neck. The hairs on her neck stood on end as electricity soared between her and the sword from the fear she was radiating.
Her uncle smiled wickedly, watching her with pride at the thought of ending her. "Giving up so soon? I didn't think you'd be one to just give up your life."
Crystal swallowed and put her arms down, taking victory in her first step already. Now that she knew his weakness, she could use it against him. "Then kill me," She told him stubbornly, stepping forward and letting the sword slice her neck slightly, causing blood to slip down onto the blade.
He jerked away, not expecting her to be so forward. He stopped and hardened his glare, putting the sword back to her neck. "You think that'll stop me? A little blood?"
"No, but this will," She said, grabbing his hand with the sword and aiming it down towards her chest.
Her uncle widened his eyes, not expecting the sudden attack that would end with her life. He jerked his arm from her hold, his hand loosing it's hold on the hilt of the blade and letting it fly. Crystal clenched her teeth and flung her arm up towards his neck, grabbing hold of the ball in her hand. A zap of electricity flew through her, stronger than with Bor'du, causing her whole body to jerk and fold in on itself in pain.
"Come on," She hissed through her teeth, feeling the light building up in her chest before she concentrated it to her hand.
The light exploded from her, stopping the electrical shock, and letting her rip the necklace from him, the chain breaking from the sudden force against it. The explosion of light against dark knocked her backwards, and sent Max away from her as both flew away from each other like to same magnets not meant to stick.
"Woah!" North said, catching her as she ran into his stomach. "What was that?"
Crystal smiled as she glanced up at him, breath already heavy as she held up the necklace for him to see. "One of our victories for winning this battle," She told him proudly. She stood on her feet shakily, knowing this was going to be a hard battle if she was already this tired. "I need you to go help Sera," She said, looking at the father and daughter who were at an odds against each other and what to do to attack.
Crystal walked over carefully to Max who was groaning as he sat up on his hands. He froze as he watched Crystal stop in front of him.
"What? Come to finish me off?" He asked begrudgingly.
Crystal found it ironic that all the years she grew up, she was terrified of this man, and was always the one on the ground looking up at him in fear, and now the tables were turned and he was the one watching her in fear. She snapped her fingers, letting the vines grow underneath him and lift him up.
"You need to get away from the fight," She told him, and gave him no time to answer before she had the vines stretch out and place him back at the top of the mountain where no one's attacks were going towards. She looked up and saw her uncle look down at her in disbelief; he couldn't believe she'd help him after all he's done.
Jack cried out as Bor'du slashed him with his claws, sending him skidding across the ground, and this time Crystal stopped him from going any further.
"Sorry that took a bit," She said, helping him sit up and putting a hand on his back. "I'm ready now."
"What are you going to do?" Jack asked, watching her stand up proudly.
"We need to get that necklace off of him. It's the source of their powers here. We take that necklace, we take the win." She told him, pointing out the gleam of the necklace as Bor'du scrapped his paw on the ground warningly.
Jack nodded his head, holding his staff in front of him and pointed it at Bor'du. An arrow lodged itself into Bor'dus arm, making the bear growl in pain as he stood up on his back paws, tearing the arrow out in anger, before slamming back down on his front paws and glaring at Merida.
"Crystal!" Merida shouted, tossing the necklace to Crystal that she shot off of Gothel.
Crystal caught it quickly and tied it to the other one. She put both on her wrist, hoping the two dark necklaces will help fight against the one on Bor'du. She ran towards the bear as his attention was on Merida, barely dodging as Merida shot an arrow and it whizzed past Crystal.
"Yah!" Crystal shouted, jumping onto Bor'du's back, crawling up it quickly to get to the necklace.
Bor'du screamed as he jumped around and jerked his head and body, trying to detach her from his back in any way he could. Crystal dug her nails into his skin and fur, gripping it for dear life as her brain rattled around inside of her head. Jack held up his staff aiming for Bor'dus back feet, and freezing them to the ground quickly.
Bor'du stared back in confusion at his frozen feet that were unable to move. He glanced at Merida who was pointing an arrow at him, and at Jack who was training his staff from the other side. Crystal took his confusion as the time to reach for the necklace. She gripped onto it, feeling the electric shock and then the darkness creep up quickly on her arm. It was cold and it hurt; like her whole body was burning up and freezing into an ice cube at the same time. The two necklaces on her arm lite up, making the darkness recede from her arm and the electricity to calm down.
"It worked!" She whispered happily, pulling her arm back from Bor'du and straining against the necklace.
An arrow went into Bor'du's should, making him stand up with his belly to Jack as he howled in pain and tried to look at the arrow. Jack shot out ice quickly, taking the chance to knock the bear down and make it easier. Bor'du turned towards the arrow in his shoulder, glaring at it with a sneer. He whipped his paw backwards, knocking it into Crystal and making her slide around to his side. Her head spun from the massive hit and didn't register the warning shout until the ice had knocked right into her, flinging her off of Bor'du.
Her grip on the necklace didn't let up as she flew off, snapping the chain and flying with her until she hit the ground. She cracked her eyes open, wondering what had happened. Her mind couldn't keep up with what had just happened and she was wondering how she was on the ground now instead of on Bor'du. Her breath came out in a frosty puff, making her finally feel the cold that was climbing up her body. She could feel it climbing from her side to around her stomach and up to her chest. She tried to sit up and move her legs, but her muscles in her legs were already freezing, and the shock from the hit to her head was making her body and brain connect become interrupted.
"Crystal!" Someone shouted through the battle field.
It was as if the whole place was quiet to her, there wasn't a single noise passing to her in field. She watched as Gothel began to wither and twist from the age hitting her all at once, and the wounds appearing on her flesh as if they were made all just then. She crumbled into a pile of dust, the wind scooping her up and flying her through the air until you could no longer see her. Bor'du shrank progressively as he changed into a man, one who was watching her in confusion and worry.
"Crystal!" Merida shouted, at her side as she placed a hand on her shoulder.
Crystal smiled up to her victoriously, opening her hand and showing the necklace sitting there peacefully. "I got it. Another victory for us!" She laughed quietly.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" Jack repeated, flying over to her and looking down in fear and worry. He knew this was going to happen, something bad had to happen! It was a gut feeling he had and it came true!
"Sera!" Rapunzel shouted, looking for the girl who helped last time Crystal was badly frozen like this.
Seraphina looked over her shoulder at who had called her, paling as she spotted Crystal on the floor with ice slowly covering her body and the ground.
"Go!" North told her quickly, know she had to go over. "I got him!"
Seraphina didn't wait another second before making the wind instantly transport her over to Crystal, putting her hands carefully on Crystal's side and shoulder. Her face paled moreso as she felt how cold the light spirit was on the ground. Crystal had a smile on her face though as she looked up at Sera, trying to calm her down and reassure her of her own condition.
"I'm fine," Crystal shook out, the shivering taking over her muscles now, which was one of the worst signs for a spirit who was supposed to constantly be in warmth.
"Jack! We have to get the ice off of her!" Sera shouted at him, panic flooding her senses, making him panic also at the situation.
"I don't know how!" He shouted back. "I can't just make the ice go away!"
"If we can warm her insides we can defrost the ice!" Sera explained, looking over Crystal and knowing there was no way for Crystal to defrost herself at this moment in time. "She can't do it herself. We'll have to find a way to do it."
"Hiya!" Pitch shouted, throwing a flood of dark sand at the small group hovering around Crystal.
Jack grabbed onto Crystal, covering her with his body from the sand, not wanting to let any more harm come to her.
"Jack," She whispered, feeling it seep into her bones now, unable to hardly keep her eyes open.
Jack put a hand to her cheek, looking over her frantically, trying to find some way to take the ice away. He clenched his teeth, thinking of a plan that may work, but it was taking a risk on helping her or making it worse. Either way he had to take it.
Jack leaned down over her, placing his lips over hers, feeling how cold they were now and how icy her breath was. He made her open her mouth with his own as he sucked in a breath, drawing the frost and ice towards him as powerful as he could. He leaned back and let the air out before doing it all over again, almost as if he were doing CPR on her and bringing her back to life.
Crystal's hand twitched as she moved her fingers before raising her arm and putting it to Jack's shoulder. Even as she just moved her arm, it was as if a flood of warmth was coming over her. She could feel her heart beating warm blood through her veins once again, and her breath was no longer visible.
"Crystal?" He asked worriedly as she sat up and put a hand to her head.
She dropped her hand, warm eyes gazing up at him. She smiled at him warmly and easily showing him she was fine and back to normal. "I'm fine. Thank you Jack," She told him, leaning forward and wrapping her arms around his neck lovingly.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into him as his worry subsided a bit finally and relief replaced it quickly. That was a panic he didn't want to go through again. The sinking feeling in his stomach was reversed as his heart soared and he felt as if he could do anything now.
"We don't have time to dwell," She said, pushing him back from her. "We still need the necklace on Dragoon."
Jack offered her a hand as she linked her fingers with his and they looked up at Hiccup and Toothless flying and whizzing around in the air, trying to get Dragoon's weakness.
"Wind," Crystal said, feeling the wind wrap around her and hover her slightly off the ground. She looked at Jack and smiled, watching as he lifted his staff and hovered with her.
They let the winds carry them up into the sky, soaring next to the dragons as they fought. Crystal pushed from Jack and reached behind Dragoon, catching ahold of his tail as he flew towards Toothless. He looked back and growled, baring his teeth at Crystal menacingly. She smiled and let go just as he went to attack her, giving her the advantage point of grabbing the chain and yanking it off, not even bothering with the shock that hit her.
Dragoon dropped from the sky like a rock as Toothless flew down and caught him barely before the ground. Crystal smiled at Toothless' kindness, but them shook her head as Toothless stomped on him and crushed him to the ground in retaliation.
"NO!" Pitch shouted, sending a wave of darkness towards everyone.
"That's enough Pitch," Crystal said, floating down with Jack linking with her hand. She landed next to Bunny who was holding his arm from one of the nightmares attacking him. "It's over."
"It's not over, til I say it's over!" He shouted angrily, stubbornness pushing him forward now and nothing else.
Crystal narrowed her eyes, stepping forward in front of everyone and staring him down. Her white wings exploded from her back as Pitch froze. "It's over," She repeated.
