A/N: Hello again readers. I know you've all been eagerly awaiting this chapter. I'm sorry it's taken so long. Please post any comments, reviews, or suggestions you have.
"Go Infernape!" I yelled. "Use fire spin!"
My trusted partner shot out a spiraling vortex of flames from its palm, engulfing Riley's Steelix. The Iron Snake pokemon cried out in pain from the attack. "Finish it with mega punch!" Infernape's fist became veiled in a bright light as it punched through the flames it created and sent its opponent flying back. Steelix hit the ground with a thud, having no more HP left. It automatically returned to its pokeball.
"Steelix is unable to battle!" the referee NPC declared. "The winner of the match is Ren!"
The crowd roared in applause for my victory. Fighting against Riley was anything but easy. His team of powerhouses and tanks really put up a fight. Riley walked over towards me with a satisfied smile on his face. "That was a great battle Ren. Good luck in the semi-finals."
"Thanks" I replied. "I'll make sure to win."
I walked out of the main stadium and into the lobby. Clair was already there waiting for me. "That was an awesome win, big brother!" Clair exclaimed. "You're gonna win this thing for sure."
"Thanks sis, but I doubt it's gonna be that easy." I smiled as I playfully rubbed her hair. Suddenly I noticed someone was missing. "Where's Misaki?"
"Oh she's outside by the training field." Clair answered. "Something about last minute training."
'She's really motivated for this fight' I thought to myself. 'She must want to win badly'
I walked outside with Clair following right behind me. The two of us headed over to the training field. Just as Clair had said, Misaki was busy training. She currently had her Empoleon out.
"Empoleon, use hydro cannon!" Misaki called out. The water type formed the attack in-between its two fins and threw it at the ground. The attack exploded and left a massive crater in its place.
"Woah!" Clair exclaimed. "That was awesome!"
Misaki turned around towards us at the sound of Clair's voice. "Hey guys" she greeted. "Sorry I didn't come to watch your match Ren. Did you win?"
"Yeah" I nodded. "You all ready for your match?"
Misaki quietly nodded in response. "Yeah. I'm gonna make sure I beat Ryota."
"Your match is in thirty minutes right?" I asked. "You should probably get your team healed."
"Yeah, you're probably right." Misaki agreed. She started to sprint towards the main building where the pokemon center was located. "Wish me luck you guys!" she called out to us as she waved goodbye.
Clair and I headed towards the stadium to get good seats for the match. When the time came for the battle, the place was packed and the crowd was roaring with excitement.
"Trainers, are you ready?!" the announcer yelled out to the crowd. "It's time for the third match of the top eight to begin!"

'Breath' I told myself. 'Just relax' I had done this thing plenty of times already. This time was no different.
'Except this time my opponent is Ryota'
I gave myself a quick slap on the face. Getting nervous wouldn't do me any good here. I just had to go out there, do my best, and win. As I gave myself a pep talk, the doors to the battlefield opened.
"First up, we have the hot-headed female trainer! Here's Misaki!"
'Who are you calling hot-headed?' I silently asked. I walked out onto the battlefield and the crowd roared with excitement. To be honest though, I couldn't notice. I was only focused on the person walking out on the other side of the field.
"And here's her opponent, the skilled trainer that doesn't know the word mercy! Give it up for Ryota!" Once again, the crowd roared with excitement. The time had finally come for the two of us to settle this.
"Alright, let the battle begin!"
XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Clair and I sat in the stands and watched as Ryota and Misaki threw out their first pokemon. On Misaki's side was her Raichu. Ryota's choice was a Luxray.
"It's an electric type showdown for the first fight!" the announcer yelled out into the crowd. "Time to get the action underway!"
Misaki didn't even give her opponent a chance to make a move before calling out her first command. "Raichu, use attract!" The electric mouse gave an appealing wink and sent a flurry of hearts towards Luxray. The attack circled its opponent and were about to take effect until Ryota countered with a move of his own.
"Discharge." Ryota calmly ordered. Electricity cloaked the Gleam Eyes pokemon and spread out around it, colliding with the hearts and shattering them. He quickly followed up with another attack. "Iron tail."
"Counter it with your own iron tail!" Misaki called out. Both pokemon's tails lit up with a metallic glow as they sped at each other. The two tails collided with incredible power. Luxray wouldn't let it end in a tie though as it swung its tail a second time, knocking Raichu back.
"Don't give up, Raichu!" Misaki yelled. "Use dig!" Raichu buried itself underground, waiting to attack Luxray from anywhere. It finally showed up, ramming into its opponent's stomach. Luxray was sent upward into the air.
"Finish it with focus punch!" Misaki ordered. Raichu jumped straight up and its fist became veiled in a shining aura. Ryota however, wasn't willing to let it end so easily.
"Fire fang!" Ryota commanded. Luxray maneuvered its body midair and barely avoided the focus punch attack. Its fangs became cloaked with flames and it bit down on Raichu's tail. The electric mouse cried out in pain from the attack. Luxray swung Raichu down as they neared the ground and made the electric mouse crash into the ground with tremendous force. Luxray leaped back, leaving an unconscious Raichu with no health left. The defeated electric mouse returned to its pokeball. One of the three pokeball's on Misaki's side of the main screen became shaded.
"What's the matter Misaki? I thought you were going to show me how strong you were." Ryota smirked confidently. "You're gonna have to do better than that if you want to beat me."
Misaki grabbed her next pokeball, shaking with rage. She wasn't going to let it end like this. "Ryota, there's no way you're coming out of this the winner." The lack haired female threw her next pokemon out. "Let's do this Dusknoir!" The ghost type pokemon Misaki had gotten from Dahlia appeared and let out a cry. "Use shadow ball!"
Dusknoir formed a shadowy orb with its hands and fired it at Luxray. The electric type quickly jumped and dodged it, but Dusknoir fired another one and hit it while it was midair. "Follow up with ice punch!" Misaki commanded. Dusknoir quickly hovered over towards Luxray to deal the finishing blow.
"Use fire fang!" Ryota countered. As Dusknoir swung its fist at Luxray, the electric type attacked with its ignited fangs. The two attacks connected simultaneously, but the weakened Luxray was the only one to lose the rest of its health. The electric type automatically returned to its pokeball and a pokeball shaded on Ryota's side this time. He grabbed another pokeball and tossed it out, this time revealing a Garchomp.
"Let's go! Use focus blast!" Misaki commanded. Dusknoir charged up a massive shining orb using the mouth on its stomach. It then fired the powerful attack at Garchomp.
"Use dragon claw!" Ryota countered. The two blades on the Mach pokemon's arms lit up and the dragon type swung its arm at the blast, knocking the attack aside. When the blast was knocked aside however, Garchomp was surprised to see Dusknoir was right in front of it.
"Use ice punch!" Misaki ordered. The ghost type's fist became veiled in a snowy cloak as it swung a punch at its opponent. Garchomp was sent flying back, severely damaged by the attack. The female trainer cracked a grin. "How's that Ryota? Not as weak as you thought am I?"
"I'll admit, you're a bit stronger than I thought." Ryota shrugged. "But you still can't beat me."
"Then I'm just gonna have to prove you wrong, you pompous jerk." Misaki said. "Dusknoir, ice punch again!" Dusknoir repeated the attack it had just used and prepared to take out another large chunk of Garchomp's health.
"Don't think the same attack will work on us twice." Ryota smirked. Garchomp ducked under the punch and prepared to attack the vulnerable ghost type. "Use dragon claw!" Garchomp's claws lit up once again as it delivered two blows to Dusknoir's chest. The ghost type was sent flying back.
"Focus blast!" Misaki called out. Dusknoir fired one last attack before crashing into the side wall. The ghost type lost the rest of its HP and returned to its pokeball. It didn't go down alone however, as the focus blast it fired made contact with its opponent and took it out as well.
"Both trainers are down to their last pokemon! This is where things get interesting!" the announcer yelled with excitement. "This battle could go either way!"
Ryota and Misaki each grabbed their last pokeball and held it tightly. Everything would be decided with this last battle. The two of them tossed their pokeballs into the air at the same time. The two capsule devices opened up and the last two pokemon appeared. Ryota's Torterra and Misaki's Empoleon.
"Go Empoleon! Use ice beam!" Misaki commanded.
"Torterra, use stone edge!" Ryota ordered.
Several stones manifested around Torterra and then sped towards Empoleon, while Empoleon fired its attack at Torterra. The two attacks collided and cancelled each other out.
"Follow up with metal claw!" Misaki called out. Empoleon's fins lit up with a metallic glow as it sped towards its grass type opponent.
"Frenzy plant!" Ryota yelled. Long thick vines emerged from the ground and charged towards the Emperor pokemon. Empoleon was unwilling to back down however, cutting down the incoming vines with its metallic fins, and following up by attacking its opponent. Torterra was all but helpless to the seemingly endless barrage of the metal claw attack.
"Keep it up Empoleon!" Misaki cheered. "Take it down!"
"Don't give in Torterra!" Ryota called to his partner. "Use crunch!" The grass type bit down on Empoleon's fin as it approached, making the water type cry out in pain. "Now use earthquake!"
"Get out of there Empoleon!" Misaki warned. "Hurry!"
Empoleon was too late however as the ground around Torterra and Empoleon shook violently. The Emperor pokemon finally broke free, only to get hit by the powerful attack full force. Misaki's partner's HP shot down into the red area.
"Empoleon, are you alright?" Misaki asked. The black haired girl's partner gave a weak but unyielding nod. It knew how she felt. This was one battle she wasn't willing to lose. No matter what, they would never give up.
"It's time to end this Misaki." Ryota confidently smirked. "I'll end it right here."
"Don't be so sure Ryota." Misaki grinned.
The crowd all sat on edge. This next moment would decide the battle. Misaki and Ryota each called out one last attack.
"Hyper beam!"
"Hydro cannon!"
The two pokemon fired their attacks at each other. The two moves clashed violently, with neither one of the two pokemon willing to back down.
"This is insane folks!" the announcer yelled. "This battle will be decided right here! In this dramatic clash, only one will be left standing! The suspense is so thick I can reach out and grab it!"
Finally, an end to the clash was seen. One move pushed a little harder. It continued moving on towards its target. The move hit with a violent bang and its target fell down with no more stamina left.
"That's it everyone!" the announcer cried out. "This insane, suspenseful, action packed battle has come to an end. The winner is…"
A/N: So who won the match? You'll just have to wait for next chapter to find out. I hope you're looking forward to it.
