The Wedding

DISCLAIMER AND CHARACTER OWNERSHIP: same as always

"Kensi! Kensi! Wake up! I swear I will dump a bucket of cold water on your head. Don't think I won't." Katie yelled in Kensi's ear, munching on a waffle in her favorite pink t-shirt and purple sweatpants.

"Katie, why are you in my house? And where is Deeks?" Kensi mumbled as she attempted to shield her face with a pillow against the bright rays of the rising sun.

"The groom can't see the bride before the wedding, don't you know that? It's common sense. Anyway, you have to get up and shower because we all have to get our nails and hair done. I've been up since 6am, even had time for a workout." Katie said quickly, now trying to tug the pillow out of Kensi's grasp.

"God you're so annoying when you want to be. You're like Deeks but worse because you're younger, have more energy and talk at lightning spends. I'm up!" Kensi snapped as Katie threw the pillow down and ran out of the room, grinning like mad.

Kensi made her way to the bathroom, effectively locking the door behind her to avoid a worked up Katie. Turning on the warm water, she stood under the soothing spray and smiled broadly. Today was the day. She could not believe that she was getting married to the man of her dreams. Deeks was kind, loyal, funny, optimistic, everything and more that she could want. Her dress was beautiful; the floral arrangements that Robert up together were exquisite; and the caterer promised a reception dinner that would be one for the ages. But, there was one thing missing: her father. Donald would have loved Deeks; there was no question about that. Deeks would have been the son that Donald never had, and that fact broke Kensi's heart. He was her best friend, and sadly, her best friend would not see her get married. Sobbing slightly, she doused her hair in vanilla-smelling conditioner and closed her eyes, memories of her father filling her mind: fixing cars, playing baseball, and going on ice-creams runs. After what felt like hours, Kensi finally stepped out of the shower. Pulling herself together, she took a deep breath, reminding herself that her father would be at her wedding, spiritually at least.

"Deeks, your tie is straight, relax man!" Eric told the detective for seemingly the hundredth time.

"Seriously Deeks, no one will be looking at you man. It's all about Kensi." Sam commented, drinking his brandy while lounging in the hotel room.

"So I spent over an hour grooming my hair for nothing? This is the best work I've ever done, even better than Katie's grade 4 picture day pigtails. Those were the bomb, I'm telling you. She looked adorable, now look what happened." Deeks grinned, fixing his tie unconsciously.

"Dude, that's my girlfriend, lay off." Wyatt stated, standing up for Katie's honor.

"Dude," Deeks mimicked, "that's my kid sister. And you're lucky you're still alive after that little stunt you pull at the Pier."

"Can't argue with that logic little brother." Eric agreed, getting up to go the bathroom and promptly smacking Wyatt upside the head on his way there.

"So is Kensi taking your last name?" Callen inquired, at a complete loss over the quarrels that erupted before him.

"I don't think so. Frankly, it's not something I'm concerned about. As long as she's my wife, I'm happy." Deeks said, smiling from ear to ear.

"This is getting to be too mushy, too quickly." Sam muttered, opening another brandy and pouring himself a generous glass.

"Kensi, you look absolutely beautiful. Doesn't she look like a movie star?" Julia said, rounding on the wedding party with a 'don't you dare question me' look on her face.

"Without a doubt, Julia. Kensi looks incredible." Nell agreed, smiling in Kensi's direction.

Blushing slightly, Kensi turned towards the mirror and gazed at her reflection. Her dark brown her was half up and half down with her tiara fixed on the back of her head, with a subtle amount of make-up highlighting her features. Her wedding dress was tailored perfectly to her body and she fixed the belt unconsciously.

"Kensi, the belt is fine. You're like Marty whenever he wears ties. Azure, please stay still for just one minute, I want to fix the rings to your collar." Katie sighed, trying to maintain some composure she struggled controlling the puppy.

"That's what you get for waking me up at the crack of dawn." Kensi smirked at Katie.

"It wasn't the crack of dawn, let's not over-exaggerate." Katie retorted, finally securing the rings and hugging the little dog.

"Yes, let us be calm and collected on this special day." Hetty declared, as she walked into the hotel suite. "It is after all, Oscar Wilde who stated that a life without love is like a sunless garden, where all the flowers are dead."

"That's pretty intense Hetty." Kensi commented as she sat down and sipped on a flute of champagne.

"It's the truth, Miss Blye. You and Mr. Deeks have been given a gift. A love like yours should not be taken lightly. True, pure, unconditional love is something that people only dream of. Treasure it well, Kensi." Hetty said, uncharacteristically wrapping Kensi into a firm hug. "Congratulations."

Deeks was sure that he knew what beauty meant: a brilliant sunset, a smiling child, or a carefree young couple in love. But he was wrong, completely, without a doubt, wrong. Beauty was standing right before him in the form of Kensi: her beauty both inside and out. In a signal moment, Deeks was struck by the notion that this vision of beauty was his, forever. Getting slightly misty eyed, he moved his focus to the priest, who was diligently going through the marriage ceremony. A beaming Katie caught his eye and he smiled back. What seemed like minutes later, he was saying his 'I do's', along with Kensi's confirmation, he was placing the ring on her finger, he was pulling her into their first kiss as husband and wife.

"I love you Kensi, more then you'll ever know. I can't wait to start our lives together." Deeks murmured in her ear as they walked down the aisle together.

"Thank you for loving me Deeks, with all my quirks, insecurities, everything. You're my Prince Charming, my forever." Kensi replied, stopping their walk and firmly kissing him in front of the entire congregation.

"I think you're holding everyone up, Angelfish." Deeks muttered, not pulling away from his wife in the slightest.

"They can wait." Kensi replied, wrapping her arms around him, ignoring Callen clearing his throat behind him.

"But can Dorothy's Royal Chocolate Cake wait that long?" Deeks questioned, leaving a shocked Kensi pulling away from him.

"Royal Chocolate Cake?" Kensi repeated, looking towards Carlo and Dorothy who grinned back from their seats.

"Freshly made, just for us." Deeks affirmed, as Kensi began to pick up the pace towards their limo.

"Us. I like the sound of that." Kensi mused as they sat down onto the leather seats, driving off towards the reception, with Deeks pressing a kiss into her temple.
