Hey I'm back after a few weeks, but I did manage. This would have been uploaded on Christmas if my family didn't have opening day on Christmas Eve this year and then the dinner the up coming Friday, but that's just them.
Also one more thing to announce. We finally made it to 10,000 views and I never thought that this day would arrive. Please R&R and enjoy.
Chapter 24: To the Death
"mu!...emu!...Atemu! Snap out of it already!"
Atemu's body stopped struggling in Malik and Ryo's grip. Blinking Atemu looking around the area, seeing no hunter alive around them. The vampire's all looked surprised as blood and water ran down their faces. A thought ran through his head, forgetting what was going on around him and remembered that Yugi and Ann had gone through a black hole to some unknown place. Atemu slipped out of his friends grip as he slumped to the ground.
The sun was just about to go down when Curt, Brandon, Rose, Joshua and Coco emerged from the trees, feeling relieved that they had found the others and not more hunters.
Malik scanned the area looking for Joey "Guys, have you seen Joey anywhere?" He questioned knowing that Joey's battle had to be over with by now, it was just the matter of who won it.
Ryo sighed "I'll go search for him, he shouldn't be too hard to find." Ryo said running off.
Rose didn't have to ask what was wrong with Atemu from the vampires worrying about Emperor Yugi and being gone. They just didn't know what to do without him. Sighing Rose sat down besides Atemu, waiting for him to say what he was thinking.
Atemu had become nerve wrecked, still not believing that Yugi was gone. Tears worked their way into Atemu's eye's, but he quickly whipped them away only inviting more in "I was right there. So why did this happen...I couldn't do anything yet, he smiled?"
Raising a brow Rose repeated "Smiled?"
Malik nodded in agreement "Yeah he did, but he was only looking at Atemu when he did it."
"It must mean something?" Rose remarked rubbing her head in confusion.
Brandon limped over, kneeling in front of Atemu "Lord Atemu, even though Emperor Yugi is gone at the time, we still need orders to finish up around here. We need your help in doing that." Brandon said.
Rose placed a hand on Atemu's shoulder, slowly standing up herself "Come on Atemu. If you are not sure what his smile meant, then don't think about it and carry on. Who knows, maybe it meant that he would be back sooner than your doubts could retch your self conscious."
Atemu re-whipped his face as it stayed dry this time "Maybe so, but where did they go to. I mean, there isn't that many places that you could be taken to with a black hole." He questioned, then clearing his throat "Brandon, take half of the warriors and continue searching for hunters that may be hiding. Curt, you take the other half and find Isis. Try helping them out as best you can."
"Yes my lord." Said both the council members before leaving to do what they were told.
Rose chuckled lightly "Don't worry Atemu, Yugi is not weak. He can handle himself just fine."
"I know, I wish I could have at least helped Yugi from getting thrown into that black hole, but I guess things will never change. He always runs off and disappears." Atemu remarked.
Rose nodded "Yup, that's Yugi for you. Also something you might want to know." She said turning towards Atemu as he looked back "Who's going to tell Yami the bad news."
Atemu cringed as well as Malik. Both Rose and Malik ran away, leaving Atemu still standing there going pale. 'Oh man, I completely forgot about Yami. He's going to kill someone when he finds out.' Atemu thought slowly staggering away.
~Yugi~
Yugi woke up in a dark and mysterious place, but then he remembered what had happened with Ann pushing him into this strange place. Getting up Yugi couldn't see anything, the whole area was black, almost as if he was in a black florescent light-bulb. Mentally sighing Yugi heard a chuckle echo through the darkness.
"You are confused aren't you." Ann said while appearing before him.
Veins had appeared on Yugi's forehead "Where the hell did you take me, and why!" Yugi snapped still having veins pulsing.
Ann snickered, resting both hands on her waist "You see, this is the world that connects Immorus with Ancient magic. Just like the shadow realm does on Earth, but there is a difference with the both of them. The realm of Ancient magic is separate from what each individual would use on the everyday basis. For example, what Hunters are known for when fighting against Vampires. Anyways that realm is split in half from the good Ancient magic to the bad Ancient magic."
Yugi calmed down a bit "What are you getting at?" Yugi questioned.
Ann rubbed her head "It's hard to explain since very few have done any real investigation on it. All I know from my ancestors theories is that it will only allow two people in at a time."
"Why's that!?"
Shrugging "Who knows really? Some say that the bad Ancient magic is weaker than the good side since all of Immorus uses it. Others think that it is so strong that Immor decided not to give the darker magic to anyone, and whoever did receive it had gotten removed. Who really knows what the real reason is without asking Immor himself. Anyways, I brought you here of the reason that only two people can enter this place at a time. Continuing on from that, this place will not let anyone leave until there is one person standing."
"Basically the door will be open once one of us is dead, and the other standing victor over the other. Fine by me." Yugi stated.
"You are right, but another little side effect to this is the darkness that is surrounding us acts like a projector with our memories of when we were young of the bad memories, so it's quit difficult to fight unless you already know what happened during that time. I for one, already know everything, but the question is, do you?" Ann remarked with a small grin.
Yugi growled lowly and thought 'She's right, I don't even know how grandma had died in the house fire when I was only a year and three months or how that school fire started in the first place. The fire for one was mostly my doing since I woke up in the room where it had started before running out and into the gym area.'
Ann continued smirking and gripped her weapon before charging forward, lashing out.
Yugi caught Ann's weapon and lit it on fire, beginning to melt the gold. Both dropped the weapon to the ground when all of a sudden the darkness began encasing the fire, putting out the light source.
Yugi stared in disbelief while Ann commented "Oops, did I forget to tell you that your fire won't work here, cause the darkness will be after you." Ann chuckled "But be my guest if you don't want to believe me." Ann said and lunged back at Yugi with a different weapon this time.
Yugi blocked her attack with his own weapon, thankful that the darkness didn't go after it after lowering the flame at the top.
~Earth~
The game shop was in full silence. Amara and Aknamkanon had fully recovered from their wounds and were currently sitting at the table.
Senna, Tyro and Solomon slept in their normal rooms as well as Yami. Heba had joined Yami in his room while Seto was borrowing Atemu's room. Marik and Bakura used the spare room where Rose and Amelia stayed in that time.
Amara yawned a bit while stretching "What time is it?"
Aknamkanon looked to his wrist then stretched himself "Almost 3Am."
Nodding Amara stood up, going over to the window and looked out "It should be over pretty soon." Amara commented.
"Yeah, it was part way over when we left." Aknamkanon agreed before a portal opened up in the small hallway. Standing up Aknamkanon saw Atemu exit the portal and exhaled from holding his breath in.
Atemu closed the portal, stopping his movement after he stepped foot into the house. After sorting out what he would say he went over and sat down at the table, asking for the two in the room to also sit down so he could catch them up on what they missed and where Yugi had gone off to.
After a few hours of explaining Atemu finished as it turned six-thirty and Solomon joining them minutes later, not knowing why Atemu was in the house. Seven had hit the clock next and then Senna along with Tyro joined the group. Awhile later Seto, Marik, Bakura and Heba wondered down from upstairs, also wondering why Atemu was there, but that was mostly their drowsiness speaking.
Yami woke a little bit later on in the day. He went downstairs, seeing Atemu in the room with everybody else who all held an astonished expression.
Atemu reverted Yami gaze, not wanting to get him worked up over something that may not be true.
Curt appeared holding papers and most likely a clipboard. Curt froze once he saw Yami standing in the room.
Atemu hesitantly took the papers from Curt before he instantly left yet again, not wanting to get in the middle of a hormonal pregnant vampire.
Atemu handed the clipboard over to Seto, dropping the other papers onto the kitchen table before he himself sat down.
"What's going on here? Is it over?" Yami questioned in confusion.
Atemu continued staring at the floor, replying with a flat "Sort of." Before Yami could find out some answers Seto stood up, dropping the clipboard in the recliner where he sat and exited out the front door.
"He's taking it hard." Bakura pondered thoughtfully.
Amara and Aknamkanon nodded in agreement.
"What do you mean by sort of."
Atemu tangled his fingers in his bangs and steadily replied "The war is almost over. Everybody else is finished fighting off the hunters that were following Ann in battle for the past week, but-" Atemu stopped to gaze up at Yami, eye's trying to hold back his tears "Ann pushed Yugi and herself into a strange portal and both haven't returned."
Yami could only hold a shocked expression, not wanting to believe what might be a possible choice if Yugi doesn't come back from who knows where.
~Yugi~
Both leaders clashed before their weapons went flying in each direction. Clattering to the ground, both didn't go for their weapon, instead they eyed each other down until Yugi appeared behind Ann with leg extended.
Ann blocked the kick that Yugi would have landed to her side. Kicking back Ann landed not to far away from where she stood before charging back at Yugi with a chain weight spinning behind her. Ann wrapped the weight end around Yugi's ankle, pulling Yugi down when she herself dropped into the darkness even more.
Yugi continued to fall into the darkness until he stopped on his own, but not until Ann was above him with yet another weapon, this time being a long sword. Waiting Yugi rolled to the side once Ann was close enough and broke the chain off from his ankle, pulling the broken end of the chain towards him while pulling Ann with it as well. Summoning his scythe Yugi prepared to cut her, but found a foot slamming into his back side and sending him deeper into the darkness.
The farther they went down the farther their memories would show them.
Yugi stopped and dodged another swipe, trying not to see what happened to him in the past.
/Memory/
A one and three month year old Yugi was crawling around in the living room, minding his own business when a small threatening shout was heard from the kitchen. Yugi being curious, crawled his way into the kitchen without being seen by Senna and Solomon's wife.
"I've never liked you from the moment that my son brought you into this family. There was this odd feeling about you that I couldn't quite understand myself, but now that I've gotten adapted of being around you I've figured out one possible reasoning for this feeling of mine." The grandmother sneered in discuss while cutting vegetables.
Senna raised a brow, kind of knowing what she was getting at "What do you mean, I'm not a super-hero. I can't do any fancy tricks the way I am." Senna said referring to herself being six months pregnant with her second child.
The grandmother stopped her cutting and tilted her head to the side, eyeing Senna with hatred before turning back to what she was doing.
/Memory pause/
A cut to Yugi's back snapped him out of that memory. Kicking out Yugi landed a clean sweep to Ann's stomach, sending her flipping backwards into more darkness. Both stopped, stood still on an invisible floor with a slight tiredly slouch etched into their backs, both panting and sweating from their continuous fight, blood running out from their wounds, stinging from the salted sweat getting into the open wounds.
A bit after the two leaders straightened up and charged at each other, clashing with everything that they had.
Ann remembered something as she clashed with her enemy. Jumping behind Yugi she slashed at him yet again, dodging the scythe incoming slash "One more thing that I forgot to mention." Ann pointed out, making Yugi halt in place, waiting for Ann to say what was on her mind.
"A full day here equals to a full month back on Immorus." Ann stated causing Yugi to go wide eyed "So the longer we fight here the days fly by faster for our followers, wondering where we could have gone." Ann smirked deviously. A ball of fire was thrown at Ann, but the darkness wouldn't have it and captured the light source just as quick.
"Don't let your frustration out to quick my dear Emperor, this has only just begun." Ann smirked yet again, this time with a bit of care in her eyes.
~Immorus~
A week after Atemu had went to Earth to tell Yami and the others had passed by like nothing had happened. Before this had happened everybody had to wait two Earth days to return back to Immorus so the Warriors could scout the territory for hunters, while the Healers went around burning the dead hunter corpses along with carrying vampire corpses back to the palace. All the injured vampires were being taken care of already in the healing chambers.
Going forwards a week, the vampires who had been injured were back on their feet and ready to go. Curt talked with Atemu on what they were going to do with rebuilding the palace. Atemu remembered that Yugi was planning on changing the entire layout of the palace and the town after the war had been over, but since he wasn't here at the time Atemu would have to start with the remodeling until Yugi had gotten back. Atemu retrieved the blue prints from Yugi's hiding spot, which was buried underneath tones of ruble and gave them to Kate once meet up with her.
Seto was obviously sitting besides his unconscious idiot mate. The battle with Wheeler had put Joey in a deep slumber. He was still pretty banged up with broken rubs and a right arm. On his left the slash wound that Wheeler made was slowly healing little by little.
Marik and Bakura helped out in town with cleaning up and building homes where they were needed.
A large tent was placed on the main battlefield, holding Yami, Heba, Amara and Aknamkanon inside at the time. Yami had been gripping the necklace hanging from his neck. The tent was silent, only the sound of hammers hitting wood and bricks being stacked up and cemented together.
The tents flaps open as Kate had entered, scanning around and looking for a certain someone. Her eyes brightened, finding Heba and dragged him by the arm without question out of the tent.
Aknamkanon and Amara blinked in wonder to why Kate needed Heba.
"Where are you taking me!" Heba shouted still being pulled.
"Lord Atemu has ask for your help!" Kate replied.
Rose, Joshua and Coco cleared the area around the middle tower while finding documents and books scattered around everywhere. Coco picked up a few books after Rose and Joshua moved part of the fallen wall. A glisten caught her eye, retching down and grabbing what had shinned.
Rose had placed her side down, noticing what Coco was holding in the palm of her hand. "Is that what I think it is." Rose asked walking over.
Coco handed the ruby red and sapphire blue stone over to Rose "Yeah, it is. You might want to hold onto that just encase the Emperor doesn't come back."
Nodding "He'll come back, if he doesn't I'll go nuts from not being able to beat the shit out of him for dying and leaving his family behind." Rose replied and Coco agreed since that is exactly what Rose did when leaving to look for Yugi 6000 years ago.
Later that day Yami was along after Ryo had to retrieve Aknamkanon to help with building. Yami had dismissed Amara so he could be alone. He lay on top some hay and cloth, mumbling to himself with arms stretched out "Where are you Yugi, it's been a week since you've disappeared." Yami then stroked his stomach 'Our children have started kicking since then.' Yami thought as silent tears escaped his eyes.
~Yugi~
Yugi finally cut a critical hit across Ann's stomach. Ann knelled to the ground holding the wound closed with her arm. Yugi lunged forward or tried to since his right leg was broken in two places from Ann earlier getting the better of him.
Ann had time to get out of the way, leaving Yugi missing and falling down more into darkness. He growled in frustration 'The longer this takes, the days go by quicker!' Yugi thought and dismissed his blade, only leaving the long handle. Once he got the chance Yugi beamed Ann over the head causing her to fall.
/Memory continue/
"That's not what I was speaking of. It's in your blood that I hate you, but I do know something, you had been visited by HER!" Grandmother sneered gripping the knife she used for cutting food to lashing out at Senna, landing a small cut on her cheek.
Senna took a few steps back, eyes widened at the Grandmothers last remark. The grandmother whipped the blood from the knife on her cloths "Those filthy vampires, all they are doing is wasting their time in looking for that next descendent of their leader." She laughed "What good will it do, he'll die just like the other two leader."
A tugging was felt on Senna's pant leg. Glancing down Yugi had been the one tugging.
The grandmother also noticed the child, forgetting one important thing to why the vampire had shown up. Realization hit over her, furrowing her eyes "Oh I see, so that's why that vamp still hangs around here. It's because of him." She hissed as Senna picked Yugi off the floor.
The grandmother spun the knife in her hand and taking a few steps forwards. Senna noticed this, backing up and going around the island in the center of the room and out into the shop where Solomon had been managing the front counter.
Before Solomon could say anything Senna commented "Your wife has gone crazy!" And with that the door came blasting open with the grandmother standing in the door way, spinning the kitchen knife in hand. She pointed the knife at Solomon "Get in the way and I'll cut you!"
"What are you doing!" Solomon exclaimed "Senna is family, why are you trying to kill her."
Grandma chuckled "Family pfft. No family of mine has vamp blood running through them."
Solomon eyes widened in shock. Grandma smiled "You didn't know I was on the other side of that war did you honey." She turned he gaze back to Senna "But ether way, I'm going to kill these two before leaving." She then used some kind of power to clone the knife in her hand, making them flout up into the air around her before letting them fly.
Senna braised herself for the collision and held Yugi tight against her. The shops door chimed seconds before and the same power was used to protect the two being targeted. A piece of one knifes blade chipped off, nicking Yugi on the cheek. Yugi did not cry out as only small tears clouded over his eyes.
Senna whipped the blood starting to seep out from the cut, making sure that Yugi had been alright.
Rose stood in front of the door watching the grandmother and the expression she held when it turned to a crazy grin "As I expected, you can sense trouble from where ever you are."
"Why did you want to find that out!?" Rose curiously questioned, protecting Senna and Yugi behind her.
The grandmother shrugged "Who knows what my real intentions are." She remarked.
Rose scrunched her face, turning back to normal after sensing a power forming from behind. Stepping aside Rose gathered her attention on Yugi, noticing that his little Amethysts eyes had turned a slight crimson. Fire formed around the grandmothers feet, engulfing her body in an intense inferno. The flames were so intense that it burned a hole through the ceiling and blocked out the woman's shattering scream.
Solomon had to duck down as well as Senna and Rose. Rose had placed a barrier up around the house so the police didn't get a suspicion about the fire, the same for the neighbors.
The inferno calmed itself once Yugi had passed out, not knowing what had happened this day.
/Memory End/
Yugi dropped to his knees panting and holding both his eyes. Ann was still falling as she was figuring out what to do. Yugi was in a vulnerable state at the time, shocked that he had killed his own grandmother before he could even talk full sentences, though she was a hunter at the time, Yugi didn't know how he should feel considering she was still family in some way.
~Immorus~
Another week had passed and not even half of the town was finished with repairs. The palace walls have all been repaired and only the healing, warrior and technic chambers have been fixed. The council or rather Curt was quickly giving up on their Emperor as fast as lightning could hit the ground.
Atemu could now feel his brothers pain with having to deal with Curt every time in a meeting and then again right after those meeting were over. Sighing Atemu sat down on the steps up to the thrown. A hole in the ceiling casted a light over him and Atemu glanced through it.
Heba squeezed his way into the room since the doors were off there hinges. Walking over Heba sat down next to his mate. Heba could tell that Atemu wasn't having a very pleasant discussion with himself and over the fact that Yugi was still missing. Atemu had ordered Kate and her group to figure out where Yugi and Ann had vanished to, but from the last time he had checked up on them they hadn't made a dent in anything. Letting out a frustrated sigh Atemu dropped his head, slowly starting to stand. Atemu was clearly out of it since he didn't notice that Heba had come into the room and sit right beside him cause when Heba spoke "What's wrong." in a worried tone Atemu jumped about a foot off the floor.
Turning around "Heba, when did you get here?"
Shaking his head "When you were staring off into space." Heba also stood "Come on, lets go get you some fresh air." Heba suggested pulling Atemu at the wrist but the two never made it out of the room from a healer standing at the doors, panting "There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you Lord Atemu."
"What is it."
"Lord Joey." Panting "He's awake." The woman stated and then left.
Without a second thought the two had gone to the healing chambers to greet their friend.
~Healing chamber~
Seto had been the first to find out about Joey and was the only one in the room at the time. Atemu, Heba, Malik and Ryo showed up and entered the room.
Joey pushed his head up and a bug eyed expression etched into his eyes. "Hey" Joey managed to get out before dropping his head back into the pillow.
"Still in pain?" Ryo asked getting a slight nod back in response.
"So, where did that bastard run off to?" Joey asked changing the subject from himself.
Malik shifted himself at the door "In the dungeon with the rest of our father's." Malik replied getting a couple understanding nods from Joey as he slowly sat up, wincing in pain at his ribs and right arm. When Vampire's break bones it takes longer for the bone itself to heal.
Joey panted before asking "What's been going on since I was out. Anything interesting I should know about."
Heba, Malik, Ryo and Seto stole a quick glance at Atemu before glancing down.
"Yeah, there is something you might want to know." Atemu admitted.
Yami, Marik and Bakura where located in another part of the healing chambers. The three were currently locked into a game of Chinese checkers, each with about five marbles in another ones starting place.(A/N: I'm not familiar with this game, but I did do some research on it a bit.)
It was Marik's turn, moving one of his marbles one space and jumping a double chain over two other marbles on the game board, advancing towards Bakura.
Bakura was next, moving another one of his marbles into an empty space in Yami's starting place.
Yami jumped one of his pieces all the way across the board and placed it into Marik's starting place before Marik started over. This went on for many more minutes until the room doors opened, Curt standing in its entrance.
The game was instantly over when Curt showed up. Yami sighed rolling his eyes. He knew what Curt was up to since he could only be here for one thing now that Yugi was out of the question.
Bakura and Marik figured as much that Curt was going to try something and was ordered by Atemu to stay with Yami until told otherwise.
The door to the room swung shut from the force of Curt's entrance. He had been furrowing his brow for some time now at Yami, not doing what he came there to do.
Yami became irritated and glanced Curt's way "Can I help you with something!?"
Smirking Curt's eye's shaded over "You could say, and by doing so you could go and figure out what gender you're having."
Yami slammed his hands down on the small table, marbles clattering to the floor, full attention on Curt now "You dare order me around! If you've forgotten I'm also labeled Emperor!"
Bakura and Marik stood in front of Yami, protecting him from what Atemu had suspected days ago.
"Seems as if you two have sensed me inside this idiots mind." The thing inside Curt growled at the two.
"The two of us had to since we were ordered to protect Yami from everything and that includes you inside and the guy you took over." Bakura stated placing up a magic barrier around him and Yami, leaving Marik to fend off the soul that had taken over Curt's body.
Marik summoned some spirits around him, sending them at Curt. The spirits passed right through Curt, doing nothing to his body excepts wavering Curt's own spirit within.
The spirit that took over Curt's body began fighting back for control, but he was still weak from fighting in the war. "Will you go back to sleep, you're not needed at this time!" The spirit inside Curt shouted out loud.
Curt had managed to regain his speaking some how "Will you get out of my head! This is not your body to do as you please! It is mine, now get out!" Curt snapped, gripping his head in pain.
The spirit emerged out from Curt. Mr. Bakura flouted in the air above everyone else.
The door opened yet again, this time Atemu and Ryo stood in its entrance. Curt fell to the floor unconscious, Ryo knelling at his side.
The room went silent as Marik glared at nothing in the air. Marik could only see Mr. Bakura's spirit in the room and the only one with an ability to fight him with.
Mr. Bakura laughed "You think you can take me on boy. You're human just like me, though I am clearly much stronger than you."
Marik did not reply as he sent his spirits charging forwards at the enemy.
Mr. Bakura smirked, easily dodging each one of the weak spirits before him. One spirit managed to lay a hand on him, only to get grabbed by the arm and thrown into his caster. Marik crashed through the rooms wall before getting back up with a stagger.
Bakura was still protecting Yami from behind his barrier. He had been watching Marik standing beside him seconds ago when all of a sudden he was blown through the wall. Now his guard was up, wondering what would happen next. The same thing for Atemu, Ryo and Yami as they all placed up their own magic barriers around them. No sound was heard, except for the small waves of invisible energy trying to get through Bakura's barrier.
Bakura was giving it his all with trying to keep the unknown spirit at bay, but soon he began growing weaker, losing her focus on the barrier.
"Bakura, keep focused!" Marik snapped, snapping Bakura back into shape.
"It's harder than it looks, I don't see you doing anything to help!" Bakura also snapped back before seeing three visible spirits flouting around Marik. He then sent them at Mr. Bakura who was still trying to get though. Bakura turned his attention back to the front "So that's what you were doing, should have figured something like that from you." Bakura said placing all his focus back on the barrier.
Ryo and Atemu became confused by all this, not getting what was going on until they saw the three spirits struggling with something in the air in the middle of the room. The visible spirits then turned an invisible spirit to visible, letting everyone in the room now know who was attacking them.
"What is he doing as a ghost, he never died cause I made sure of it!" Ryo stated in anger.
"He must have done something with his magic to make his soul become a spirit." Atemu commented.
Another laugh echoed throughout the room "Right you are, in fact whatever marks you make on my spirit won't effect my body once I return. These weaklings of a spirit holding me can't do anything but keep me visible for the time being, unless." Mr. Bakura stated beginning to absorb the spirits ability to stay visible. The spirits themselves vanished from sight, leaving back to where they came from.
"Stay on guard everybody, who knows what he'll do next." Marik informed standing guard.
Yami kept his guard up, blinked and then Mr. Bakura was gone. He heard Ryo shouting "Where did he go!" But wasn't really paying attention to what the others were doing. A breeze sweep pass his cheek.
A chuckle was heard again from the same enemy "My my, you all go into a panic once I disappear from sight. No wonder it was so easy to take control of that guard and council member."
Atemu glanced at Marik as he knew where he was, but wasn't saying where. His eyes had been widened for some time now so he must have been close.
Mr. Bakura had been flouting behind Yami. He could clearly see that his barrier wasn't that far from his body so he could easily get as close as a couple feet. "You think that you're all special don't you. Vampire's should have stayed nonexistent. Immor should have known that from the start when he created the first vampire. In your case it would have been the first Emperor that ruled over your kind. Back then humans and vampires lived along side one another, feeding and thriving for something that the other species had." A sigh "To think that this war is almost over after so many years of arguing over the same thing, but enough of that for now. What I'm most concerned about right now..." Mr. Bakura stated walking circles around Yami, retching a hand out for the barrier "Is this nuisance holding the Emperor's child." Mr. Bakura's hand phased right through the barrier, breaking the concentration that he held over it.
Marik began sprinting forwards, shouting "Don't you even dare!" But it was already to late as Mr. Bakura forced his magic to the tips of his fingers, forcing it out like a small jet of water, piercing Yami through the chest before he himself forced his spirit body through that same opening.
Marik kicked Mr. Bakura away from Yami, leaving Yami to Atemu. Marik didn't have time to do anything else after that as Mr. Bakura's spirit was beginning to fade from his own sight until he was completely gone without another word. Shaking his head he went back to the others.
Yami slouched to the floor, holding his chest and wondering what he had done to him. He felt fine, no sickness or dizziness coming over him. Yami trailed down to his enlarged belly stomach, making sure that his children were also safe. Yami then let out his breath, not realizing that he was holding his breath in for some time now.
"Did he do anything that you yourself can pinpoint?" Atemu asked a bit concerned.
Gazing up Yami shook his head "No, nothing that I can tell, but I do know that nothing has changed. Its just that he went right through me like a normal ghost." Yami replied.
Ryo picked the unconscious Curt off the floor "You might want to get checked out with Isis. She is much better with this kind of stuff, no offense intended." Ryo said gaze fully on Yami when saying this.
He nodded, slowly getting off the floor with the help of Atemu, following the others to where Isis was located.
~Yugi~
Yugi dropped down some more now that his left arm was broken in two places as well. He couldn't figure out how Ann was easily getting behind him and breaking so many bones of his, but Yugi soon got back with the amount of bones broken. Yugi instantly got behind Ann. Ann swung back at Yugi as Yugi himself lodged her right arm between is own right arm and left knee, crushing the two connecting bones in her forearm.
Ann screamed in agony finally feeling what Yugi had been feeling for some time now.
Yugi jumped back landing on his good leg while gripping his scythe with his good arm. Blood dripped from his face and cloths. The sweatshirt that he was wearing had been torn into shredded fabric that barely protected him.
Ann on the other hand was a bit more bloodier than Yugi was. The broken arm that Yugi had just broke was beginning to bleed out from a small puncture wound from Yugi's elbow. The lodge and crushing actions were so deadly that Yugi was hoping that she would bleed out sooner or later. Ann stood up, now gripping her weapon in her left hand. The glare in Ann's eye's were telling Yugi that thing's needed to end quickly, but he didn't know her reasons for getting out of here quickly. Shaking those thoughts out from his mind Yugi lunged at Ann once again, pushing the memory of the school fire to the back of his mind since he already knew about that one.
Yugi tossed his weapon above Ann's head before creating small fire bombs and attaching them to the back of her shirt. Jumping up Yugi grabbed his scythe, dropping down from above after.
Ann had no way of blocking this attack as Yugi had succeed in cutting Ann down her shoulder and all the way down to the hip. Blood spilled out and splashed everything around the wound.
Yugi motioned his finger forward from his side, making a few of the small fire bombs move to the front of Ann's body. Quickly getting into position Yugi snapped his finger before the fire bombs exploded into a big ball of fire. Yugi then quickly pulled out the one needle from weeks ago, using his ancient magic to duplicate it into more needles before sending them all at Ann burning in the fire before the darkness around them absorbed the light that had somehow gotten inside its realms.
It took a few minutes for the darkness to disappear from view and when it was all gone there had been no body of Ann laying in the dark before him. Yugi's eyes shaded over as he lowered his head, waiting for the door to be opened.
A loud rumble shook the darkness before a light portal appeared before him that would lead him back to Immorus. Yugi slowly took a few steps towards the portal when something grabbed his ankle from below. Yugi could have sworn that Ann was dead and that she was telling the truth about only having two people in this realm at a time.
The figure was slowly climbing its way up Yugi's leg until it was once again burned off and left behind, but Yugi would soon find out that it would follow him right back to the palace.
~Immorus~
Again two weeks had passed by without much going on. The town was beginning to be finished with what Yugi had planned out with the blue prints. The palace was also almost complete with each tower just about finished and a small area for the lounge attached to the middle tower and Lord Joey's tower.
Everything had been running smoothly after the incident with Mr. Bakura. Isis couldn't find anything wrong with Yami from what she was told. Curt never got close to Yami, never asking about what genders he was having until the time came.
The day was quiet with only the sounds of banging and clattering of bricks. This changed when all of a sudden the ground began shaking violently. People fell to the ground wondering what the hell was happening.
In the healing chambers Yami was lucky to land on the bed when the shaking began. Heba was clutching Atemu while Bakura and Marik clung to each other for support. Seto had just walked through the door when the shaking went off. The shaking subsided after a couple seconds.
Outside the vampire's became loud with excitement while gazing up at the sky. Atemu, Yami, Seto, Marik, Bakura and Heba exited the healing chambers, wondering what the commotion was about. Atemu glanced at the sky, eyes widened once he recognized what was happening.
Joey, Ryo and Malik stood not to far away from the others with eyes widened as well, also wondering what was going to happen with the black hole looming over the palace.
A figure fell from the black hole. Vampire's around noticed who it was within seconds, shouting "It's the Emperor!" Erupting into loud cheers of excitement.
Yugi was falling straight down from the sky and was just waking up from passing through from the darker ancient magic realm. Yugi glanced back at the portal, waiting for the portal to close behind him. It was almost fully closed when a beam of high pressured blood shot out from the still closing portal. Yugi's eyes shot open from the tiered expression he once held.
The blood was aimed straight for Yugi, the beam spiraling down at him for the kill.
Yugi retched the ground, instantly flipping out of the way.
Blood splashed everywhere as it drilled through the battlefield. Panting Yugi leaned against his weapon in a knelling position.
Yami came out from behind Atemu, seeing Yugi covered in blood and knelling. Yami was going to say something but Atemu held him back "Just hold on a bit longer, something is not right." Atemu said still waiting for something to happen.
The blood collected itself, forming back into Ann's shape.
"You told me that the portal back here would open once one of us was dead, but you are clearly still alive!" Yugi snapped standing back up.
Ann chuckled "Yes I did say that, but I wasn't really sure if those where true myself. You see I did die and you returned here, but what I didn't know was that my soul was still flouting within the darkness and it collected what was left of my body which was my blood if you couldn't notice. The fact is that I'm still alive and ready to kill you for the final time, this time taking you with me." Ann stated before spiraling forwards.
Yugi blocked Ann's attack, sparks flying off the scythes blade. Yugi and Ann began fighting once again but Ann wasn't doing much damage as she was when she had a body. She growled and thought 'Not having a physical body has its down sides to it, which means I need to be smart and not stupidly throwing hits anywhere I see fit.'
Yugi cut Ann's blood body in half at the waist but it was useless cause Ann just fixed herself right back up. Sighing Yugi stopped charging his energy into the scythe, placing it back into its holder before flaring his flames into his hand, creating a flame scythe that could actually hit her. Yugi's eyes flared while widened before he lunged forward not feeling anything from his injuries, clashing with Ann once again.
Ann jumped into the air dodging another attack from Yugi, but Yugi wouldn't have it as he also jumped into the air, kicking her back down to the ground. Ann crashed into the ground, creating a small crater underneath her.
Yugi dropped down just barely missing her bloody body but then he got an idea. Lighting the small trail of blood left behind on fire he let the flames spread towards the source. Ann was unaware of this as she was sent in fire for the second time, but this time it didn't work as good as it did the first time. Yugi slashed at Ann once again, cutting her across the chest and seeing something glowing inside the blood.
Blinking Yugi become confused, remembering that Ann's soul had collected what was left of her body. Nodding slightly Yugi aimed for that spot, charging forwards and being blocked by Ann.
Ann knew that Yugi had figured out what was keeping her moving and was aiming for that source of energy. "You're going to have to try harder than this if you want my soul dead Emperor!" Ann remarked charging her magic and making the ground begin to shake once again, but this time it was to attack and not for the portal.
Yugi gritted his teeth also charging his energy. The two were equal until Yugi cut off Ann's blood arm and jumped back, the ground subsided with the shaking as soon as the arm had fallen and rolled on the ground, turning into a pile of blood when still.
Atemu watched his brother, confused as to what he was trying to do. The fire attack didn't work and then everything went to hell with the ground beginning to shake once again and now Yugi and the new form of Ann were staring daggers at one another.
Marik walked up beside Atemu talking quietly so Ann herself couldn't hear them "Her soul is the only thing that is controlling the blood that makes up her body." Marik said.
Heba and Bakura raised a brow at this "Her body is made of blood." Heba repeated.
Marik nodded "Yes and her soul is the only thing that can kill her on the spot."
Yami from behind Atemu asked "Do you think Yugi knows this detail?"
They all went back to the battle in front of them, watching Yugi trying to pierce Ann through the chest but Ann kept blocking his attack. Atemu nodded "Looks like it to me." Atemu said before going quiet at something he didn't want to see.
Ann continued to block Yugi's attack until she saw an opening. Taking the chance Ann charged her magic with the blood in her right hand and arm. The blood arm began spinning like a drill, using the drill to block yet another attack before appearing inches from Yugi's face, plunging the drill through his left shoulder. Ann grinned but it wasn't over yet, she might have slowed Yugi down but she needed to kill him off. Ann heard a crying shriek from over by the healing chambers. Tilting her head she noticed that the Emperors husband was close by. Ann would have to kill him right after she finished off Yugi.
Ann began pulling her arm out but was stopped. Gazing up Ann saw that Yugi had grabbed her arm and gripping it tightly.
Yugi kept his own gaze locked with Ann's to keep her busy, using his tail to form a fiery sword. Once made Yugi pierced it through Ann's chest.
Ann gasped, her eye twitching in pain. The blood that formed into her original body exploded out, socking Yugi in everything. The soul had been still attached at the end of the fiery sword until Yugi sent it in flames, ending this war on the spot.
The vampires had been silent this whole time, not making a sound until the whole palace grounds shouted with excitement. It was so loud that Yugi snapped out of his focus mode and fell to the ground, feeling pain instantly after he had moved harshly.
Atemu, Malik, Ryo and Joey headed over to Yugi. Yami and Heba went to get some healers ready to heal Yugi while Bakura and Marik went to alert Brandon, Kate and Curt about this.
After some hours after painfully getting Yugi into the healing chambers have passed. It took a few baths to fully get the blood from being caked over Yugi's skin off. Isis had given some kind of medicine to Yugi to drink to get any gold out of his system that might have gotten in some how. Isis then shot some pain medicine into him as well, waiting for it to kick in before starting on the splints for Yugi's arm and leg.
Another healer was fixing the drill wound that was still fresh. Once she was finished the lady bowed before picking up a small bowl of water, leaving the room. Isis had gotten the splint ready for when the time limit was up. Checking the time Isis nodded to herself, picking up the arm splint and starting with that. She then picked up the leg splint, strapping that on like the first one.
Yugi pulled his right arm through the robs sleeve first and let the left sleeve hang from his shoulder.
Isis pulled the blanket up halfway, bowed and then left. Yugi sighed, relieved that he was back but that only meant that he had to get Curt back in line and finish fixing the place up once he healed fully. Yugi could tell that Atemu had found his blue prints and began remodeling the place like he wanted.
The door slowly creaked open, Yami poking his head in before entering fully, door closing behind. Yami made his way over to the bed and sat down.
Yugi gaze out the window with tiered eyes. He needed sleep yet he couldn't close his eyes without thinking that someone would show up and start something. "Hey" Yugi managed to breath out, turning his head to face Yami but not look him in the eyes.
Yami perked up, scooting closer "Hey...what took you so long. Everyone was worried."
Shifting "Sorry...I'll explain where I was tomorrow. I need some rest before then."
Nodding in understanding "Okay, I'll stay until you're asleep."
A light smile spread over Yugi's lips "Thanks Yami, I'd like that." Yugi replied while Yami lay right next to him. It wasn't long after when Yugi had passed out from exhaustion. Yami did not want to leave Yugi's side at the thought of a stray hunter entering the room and killing Yugi while he recovered.
Again another cliff hanger if this is considered one. If you haven't read the top of the page you should go check that out right away. Also have a Happy New Years cause this will be the last time I upload anything for this month. I will get working on the next chapter as soon as I go back to school in about a week starting January 5th.
