A/N: If you didn't know I will be skipping A LOT. It's just because we have all played the game right? I don't need to repeat the boring stuff so please don't ask me to write it out.
And thanks again to JourneyRocks13 for your reviews (yes I am back with consistent updates thank you and I am sorry for not getting around to review your story but I still love it and will review soon) for waiting patiently for me to return as well as the rest of you, all of you readers. Ah, sgtranglin, I have not forgotten you, you have reviewed an equal number of times and have always told me what you think of each chapter so thank you very much. As for your question, yes Revan is going to be following Meetra, he cares for her too much to just let her go through all this without his watchful eye. As for showing himself... I will let the story tell you that. RikudoNaruto1, Thank you. rebfan90, thank you for reviewing again and I am glad to see that you are enjoying the story once more. Yes Revan and Meetra have a very special relationship. Kaioo: Yeah sorry, when I wrote the fight between Revan and Nihilus I wanted to put so much more but I felt I had to leave a lot out for plot reasons, sorry to disappoint. Also on the matter with Kreia, I have thought a lot about what Revan would do and I am not going to reveal much but in Chapter 23 he defeated her to prove that she had no more power over him, no Master/apprentice ties but yes Revan still feels for his first master but I will keep it at that so you will have to wait and see and thank you for reviewing. Ace of Spies: Thank you, I would have loved to seen a fist fight between the two as I see them as two of the strongest Sith, and I mean strongest as in the amount that they can take and dish out. Also I had wanted to give Sion credit as he is very powerful in his own right and, along with Nihilus, would give Revan a true challenge. And yes Revan and Meetra's relationship is my personal favorite relationship with how much they love each other without being related or romantically tied. Thanks again to all you reviewers and those that favorite and follow, I can never thank you all enough.
Old readers and new readers, those that review and those that don't, I want to take this time to dedicate this chapter to all of you who have waited so long for my return and I apologize for taking so long to, well, apologize for it. I know that this was delayed but I am sorry for the long absence but I am back and will finish this story as well as the sequel I am planning. Anyway new chapter yay!
The Fallen Knight
By Your Side
Telos Surface,
When Meetra arrived at Telos she thought things we be a lot easier. Well she was wrong. After landing and being placed under arrest they were almost killed by an assassin. After that they found out that the Ebon Hawk was stolen. Then, she had to aid the Ithorians in getting rid of Czerka so that they could get a shuttle so that they could find their ship. And just when she thought it would be easy they got shot down on the surface of Telos. Meetra cursed Revan for letting his bad luck rub off on her as she pulled herself up.
"Whoa take it easy there General. That was one hell of a crash you walked away from." A forgotten voice said. Meetra stood up and looked at the source. It was an Iridonian that looked somewhat familiar. Meetra squinted then her eyes widened. The surface of Telos changed from normal to nothingness. All the green and plains that was before her disappeared. In the scenery's place was a giant black hole swallowing all things that came near it. Meetra's eyes widened as she looked into the planet size wound in the Force.
Then she clutched her chest and winced in pain. She looked down to see her abdomen was gone and it was replaced by a similar black hole. She gasped seeing at how similar she was to the planet. The pain almost made her fall over but then she looked up as a hand came and touched her face. The hand was covered in a glove and it slowly caressed her cheek. Slowly, the hole inside of her began to fill and the pain dissolved away.
When she opened her eyes everything was back to normal. "General, are you alright?" Meetra looked back at the Iridonian and blinked.
"Yes, I think so. Who are you?"
Above on a plateau was Revan. He stood at the edge as the cape of his armor flapped in the wind behind him. He looked down at his friend seeing the struggles she was facing. He sighed wishing he could do more.
"Then why don't you do more?" Behind him the spirit of his old Jedi Master formed. His Master technically did not exist in reality but Revan would release him from his subconscious sometimes for a nice talk. His Master was still in existence in his mind but Revan would allow him to take form when he had something to say.
"Because I cannot Master. I must let her go through her challenges alone. All I can do is make sure she can handle everything that is thrown at her." Revan said as he watched all four start to walk towards the old military base.
"Calming her pain?" The blue spirit asked behind him.
"She is letting all of her pain hit her. If I could ease that pain," Revan said looking at his hand, "then it will help both of us." Revan had seen her pain and he went down there and took some away but he had to leave most of it with her. For only she could conquer the planet's worth of death that followed her.
"Still trying to figure out all your power I see."
"Yes, while there is no limitations to my unlimited power I still like to see how powerful I am without it." Revan let his hand go back to his side as he looked out at Meetra walking across the plains. "While there is no possibility for anyone in this galaxy to best me I still need to control myself. There is no reason to just lose myself to this power."
The Jedi smiled. "Wise Revan, very wise. And I am guessing that is why you faced Nihilus using only half of your own power."
"Yes, I needed to see how far I could push myself. There are always boundaries in life, but they can be easily surpassed if you will it to be so."
Silence followed as the Jedi saw their talk was finished. He slowly dissolved and faded into Revan's mind. Revan stood for a moment longer pondering everything. Was he doing the right thing? He knew he was. A split second later his image vanished as he went to catch up with Meetra.
Several explosions sounded on the plateau of the Telos polar area. Meetra looked down at her defeated foes one last time. Three more of those Jedi hunting droids had shot them down as they were making their way to the polar region of Telos. Meetra shivered a little as a gust of wind flew by. She had picked up some armor at the Military base. It was light armor colored green. The top was reinforced to take on blaster fire and any type of sword. It was a green mesh shirt with brown armor around the chest, back, and shoulders while it left her abdomen exposed. She loved the reaction she got from Atton when she put it on, because she showed how her military training kept her in shape. Meetra had always stayed strong and she had a tone six pack to show off. She was definitely stronger than any woman or man her age. Meetra never cared to the attention she got as Revan taught her that they were above any carnal desires of normal men and women. She had done wonders through the years to hide herself and make sure she was not gawked at like during the war.
Meetra put the twin vibroswords on her belt and she turned to Atton and Kreia. She looked from them to the rest of the structure they were on. It seemed bare, with no sign of life. Out in the distance appeared to be a little hut or door. She motioned for the two as she sought out any type of shelter.
Almost an hour later, footsteps appeared in the snow. Revan was clad in his armor and mask as he walked on the polar ice cap. He stopped short at the door and stared in disdain. His eyes narrowed as he felt the dark pressure coming from inside the academy. He delved deep into the minds of everyone in the there. And he came to one conclusion. "Atris, what have you done?"
Meetra walked out with her head held high. Atris may have ended their debate but Meetra knew she won. It was pointless to try and argue with someone like her over the fact that there has to be sacrifices for victory. Atris never understood Meetra and Revan. She always saw them as the enemy, even though they were friends back at the academy. Meetra didn't know why Atris hated her so much but it made her uneasy. There must have been some deep hurt in Atris to make her hate Meetra this much. She shook those thoughts out of her head and focused on the task at hand.
The Sith were back and there was no denying that. Their reasons for targeting her were unknown but she was willing to fight and she needed allies otherwise she would not last. She figured that getting her crew back together first would be a good start. Then thoughts of the rogue Atton came into her mind. The man was odd and always put on a show but there was no denying that Meetra had found some kind of interest in him. After all he seemed like the Revan type and that is what made him even more appealing to her. She had always loved Revan but no romantic feelings erupted between them. With Atton however, it was different. She blushed and pushed those thoughts out. 'I am a Jedi this is ridiculous. That man shows no care or compassion for me.' She assured herself.
Meetra pushed her long hair out of her eyes and walked through the corridors to where one of the Handmaidens said they had her companions. Also they mentioned something about Atton's Echani training. That was interesting. Meetra had been trained in Echani by Revan sometime during the war, he had near forced her. It was after she had been beaten up by a band of Mandalorians because she lost her lightsaber during the time. Revan had arrived right before they could capture her then he scolded her on her limitations in battle by relying on her lightsaber. The training was brutal and he didn't go easy on her, he never did. At the end she could take on a platoon of Mandalorians with her bare hands. He was always overprotective of her.
Revan still stood on the polar ice cap and watched as the Ebon Hawk took off. He had stayed on the Harbinger until they exited hyperspace near Korriban. He had found an old ship that he had left behind there and took it. From there it was a few days journey to Telos where he followed in Meetra's footsteps. Now… he needed another ship. He should have just hitched a ride with Meetra.
"Now why didn't you do that?" Revan looked behind him in utter confusion. He watched as a red aura collected together and formed into a body before the body materialized into a person. And that person was a woman. When he heard a voice he was surprised to hear that it was a woman's voice and not the voice of his Jedi Master. He arched a brow under his mask when she turned into an actual person instead of a red glowing ghost. She was almost as tall as him with hair blacker than a deep void and eyes redder than a glowing lightsaber. She had a beautiful face that had a devilish look to it and a perfect body that wasn't bad to look at. Unfortunately for Revan, he was married, she was just an apparition, and, to make matters worse, she was completely naked.
"Who the hell are you?" Revan said. Honestly this was just getting confusing and border lining crazy.
"Well you didn't expect me to sit idly by while you and the old guy keep me caged." She said smirking at Revan. Revan just stared at her and she shook her head. "Geez you really are slow. I am the embodiment of your Sith powers. Much like the other guy I am just a mentor of sorts."
Revan frowned. He saw this whole thing as just plain silly. "For starters, why did you wait until just now to appear? Second, how did you materialize yourself? Third, why are you a woman? And finally, put some damn clothes on!"
The woman laughed loudly. "Wow, I liked you better when you were a big flirt." She said crossing her arms over her exposed chest. "I guess that's what happened to guys when they get married. Well, at least the honest ones." Her body glowed for a moment then dark robes covered her body. "I suppose that answers the last question. Now to answer the first," she said holding up one finger. "I wasn't able to appear because of all the restraints you put on my power when you got it. Then, your hope for Bastila's love almost drowned me. Force! How can one man love someone so much? I mean seriously, you were so blinded that there wasn't a spec of me coming out." The Sith girl rambled on, rolling her eyes.
"Hold on," Revan said holding up a hand. "Were you the one that did the attack on my mind a long time ago?" Revan remembered after he had kissed Bastila for the first time that his Sith powers got out of control and tried to take over his body in order to not submit to the lightside. He had to face all the spirits of the dead masters in his mind and he had won.
The Sith woman smiled wickedly and gave a firm nod. "Yep, that was me."
Revan tilted his head a bit. "Why?" He said in an annoyed tone.
She rolled her eyes again and began to walk towards the side. "Because, you were given all this power years back and you failed to act on it. Then, oh boy, Bastila declares her love and I am crushed harder than those damned Mandalorians!" She stopped and turned back to Revan. "I knew you would win, I just wanted to give you a friendly reminder that I was still here." She said as her smirk returned to her lips. "After that the damn old Jedi blessed you with HIS powers and then I had to have an equal sharing with him. Look, if it was anyone but you I would have said no way. So I submitted to you just as he did and as you were harvesting all this power he put his own restrictions on me. Oh sure, steal my powers and shut me up. You're like a fucking dictator you know that? So long story short I was hidden away and kept silent all these years. Until of course your battle with the Sith helped me get stronger and when you helped out Meetra back there by taking some of the darkened pain she bares I broke free. And so here I am." She finished by extending her hands.
Revan was still frowning under his mask. She sure liked to complain a lot. "Now," she continued. "As for the second, both the Jedi and I can materialize ourselves. He just chooses to keep looking like a Force ghost for some reason. But I prefer this. Kinda more real, you know?" Revan made no comment or change in his stance and she went on.
"As for the third, well let's just say this is what I want. It's better than just being a thousand angry old guys all bunched together." She saw that Revan wasn't understanding. After all, he didn't have to wear the mask, she could see right through it to his face. "Don't misinterpret this, I am not all those old dead guys mixed together. Damned perverts would have wanted to be me anyway." She said self-consciously hugging herself. "Anyway, I am just all the Sith power in you. And I chose to be a woman because, I like it. It makes me more appealing. And plus when I can chose to appear on my own I can't wait until Bastila sees me. She will get a kick out of it! Well probably me more than her."
Revan shook his head and let out a long sigh. "I give up. Things could not get any more stupid." Before he knew it, Revan was thrown up in the air and fell back onto the snow. He groaned in pain.
"I am not stupid!" She yelled at him. She turned her body to the side and stuck her nose up in the air. "You are the one who is talking to an embodiment of your own powers."
Revan slowly got up and brushed some snow off of himself. "You're the one who wants to imagine yourself as an appealing woman."
"Aha!" She yelled pointing a finger at Revan. "So I am appealing? I knew you couldn't resist me. So, want another peek?" She said seductively while pulling the side of her robe, exposing her bare shoulder.
"No! Now cut that out and get to the point of why you're here!" Revan said glaring at her.
"Sheesh you don't have to be such a prude." She said putting her robe back on right. "Alright, first I would like to be called Darkness, it's got a nice ring to it. And for starters I want equal share in this balance of powers thing."
"Done."
"Next, I want you to let me appear whenever I want."
"No."
"But-"
"No."
She glared at Revan for a moment. "Fine, but when I ask to be out I want out."
"Sometimes."
"Often?"
"Doubt it."
"Eh, I'll take what I can get." She said with a shrug. "Now then, I'm here because I need to tell you to train yourself."
Revan laughed and waved his hand. "Train? Are you kidding me? I spent years training and now that I have all this power you are telling me I need to train."
"What good is having all that power if you can't control it?" She challenged him. "Ever since you got this power you have not trained yourself. Sure you challenged a couple of powerful Sith Lords, but they weren't worth jack shit compared to you. You just toyed with them and didn't take the fights seriously. This isn't like you Revan."
Revan looked from her to the ground. She was right. He had yet to test himself with his new power. He really didn't think he needed to though. Before he could speak, she went on. "This is the first time in years since you have stopped training. Do you think that the hard part is over for you? That you get all our power than just walk through every trail you face?" In a flash she appeared in front of him and smacked him on the head. "Get your shit together! If you don't want to train this body then I will." She put a finger on his chest and a red beam went from her finger and into his heart. Revan was paralyzed as she held him like this against her will. She smirked as she channeled through the Force to hold him still. "But, I know that you won't go down without a fight." She removed her hand and Revan took in a breath and began panting. "I respect you enough to bend to your will Revan. But if you keep this up, then I won't have a problem taking control of our body." She said as she went to put her finger on his chest again.
Revan snatched her hand before it even touched and her eyes widened as she looked at him. "It's my body. It may be your power but it's still my body. And if you threaten to take me again then I will break you like I did the last time."
Darkness stared at him before grinning wickedly. "That's more like it Revan. That's what I want to see." Revan looked curiously as she started to fade away. She grabbed his arm as she floated away. "Listen well Revan. While I just look like a pretty face know this." Her legs were gone and she was just floating in the air as her back started to go away as well. "I am everything that is evil inside of you. Don't let me see you weak and take this as a warning. I have seen what you are planning and if you don't want to lose everything then I suggest you get serious." She said with a dark smirk as she faded away to nothingness.
Revan stood alone once more in the snow. His face was contorted in different emotions as he reviewed the discussion. The girl, this Darkness, was an interesting figure. She was indeed the very embodiment of his evil. Why she chose the girl body, he had no idea. But even if she was pure evil she was very comical. He sighed.
"Why does all the crazy stuff happen to me?"
Dxun, the planet where she was hit with the full force of war. Where it all began. She remembers the death, the destruction, and the fear. She was afraid. She had never been faced with death before, then she entered the war. It amazed her how wrong she had been during that first week. She thought that she was ready for war but she wasn't. None of them were.
Except for Revan.
Dxun, one week after Revan took command.
The plains were littered with death blood. The air was full of the stench of death and wet rainforest. The jungle was ripe with fresh bodies and old ones of many fallen Mandalorian warriors as well as Republic soldiers and some Jedi who were new to battle.
Revan had taken over the Republic war effort after a long debate with the Jedi council then the Republic senate. Even after that it was months before he could fully take over the forces and get them to operate to his liking. Even with the quick preparation his forces were too unprepared to the war they were about to face. Revan had less than half of the forces and resources he required in retaking Dxun. He knew that it would not be easy but it was a vital battle in order to turn the war in the Republic favor. But he was quickly overwhelmed by how limited forces he had and the lack of support he had gathered.
Nevertheless, as soon as Revan was given the absolute command of the Republic war effort, he went in with his forces to meet the Mandalorians. Revan was with the first wave of Jedi that went on the ground while Meetra went with the second wave on the other side of the front. Malak was controlling the Republic Navy above and making sure the Mandalorians could not retreat.
After the end of one week Revan had lost almost half his forces as well as twenty of the fifty Jedi he had, while Meetra had lost all but a couple dozen soldiers. She had requested reinforcements right before the Mandalorians came and overtook her field outpost. She was now on the run without back up, low ammo, and less than forty men. It truly looked hopeless.
Meetra was visibly younger, her face and aura was brighter. She had no scars on her body or in her mind. She was fresh to the horrors of war and they were taking their impact on her. She was currently scouting ahead while her small force of soldiers were resting in a nearby cave. Her dark brown Jedi robes were getting soaked from the rain as was her long dirty blond hair. Her hand was gripping onto her double bladed purple lightsaber. The Mandalorians sent a small scouting party in their direction and her silver eyes watched them wearily. If only she had been better prepared for this, then so many people didn't have to lose their lives.
The scouting party took a turn in the opposite direction and she sighed in relief. She jumped down from her spot in a large tree and started back towards what remained of her force. Throughout the week she has killed more Mandalorians than she dared to count. Almost immediately after she landed they were attacked. She had cut her way through around twenty of them then another wave hit. Her men were barely able to drive them back and set up a field outpost. Then it was all a losing battle. Each day brought another Mandalorian attack. Before she knew it they had lost their base of operations and she was on the run in the jungle with less than fifty men. And now she was here. Dodging enemy troops while trying to get what was left of her men back to the Republic front lines.
The jungle was quiet for the moment. Usually the sounds of distant fighting and explosions were heard but now the only sound was the pitter patter of the rain and her own footsteps. Meetra needed to get her men back on their feet and moving. If she could guess, they were only a few miles from Revan's location.
She walked calmly through the jungle when she heard the sound of distant fighting. It was in the direction of where her men were. She started to pick up the pace but as the sounds only got louder she got into a dead sprint. In a matter of seconds she was at the entrance of the cave where her men were. When she stepped foot inside the fighting stopped. She looked around to see that all of her men were now dead, along with a few Mandalorians as well. She looked up to see eight Mandalorians circled around their leader.
Her eyes widened. She was all alone. The Mandalorians had killed them all. All but her. And she would make them pay. In a flash she had her lightsaber activated and in her hand. She rushed the surviving enemy and sought to kill. She was right next to them before they even knew she was there. She slashed her way through two of them before they began to open fire and scatter. She held up her lightsaber and blocked the blaster fire before it could hit her. As she blocked the first volley she had directed several shots back at her attackers, taking down three more.
She moved close on another one and sliced off his arm before plunging her blade into his chest. She glanced over shoulder to see two coming in behind her. She whipped around, pulling her weapon out from the Mandalorian she had just killed, and ran at them. They fired at her but missed as she cut the end of their blasters off in one swipe. The two both took a step back in fear as she narrowed her eyes at the two. She slashed one across the chest as the other staggered back and pulled out his blaster pistol. Her shot at Meetra and the bolt hit her in the shoulder, but did nothing to make her back down. She charged nonetheless and rammed her lightsaber into his gut. She heard him gasp before he died. She ripped her saber out and turned to the last Mandalorian who already had a bead on her with his weapon. He fired before she could deflect it but it whizzed by her face narrowly killing her.
She rushed him and swung her lightsaber down but was surprised when he held up a bare hand and blocked the burning blade with his wrist. 'Mandalorian Ore, should have known.' She cursed herself inwardly as she retreated her weapon and held it near her waist. The Mandalorian seemed to be looking her over until he pulled out a small vibroblade from his belt and charged at her. She was surprised for a moment but blocked his attempted slash and countered but her enemy blocked it well. She called upon the Force and moved at super speed to behind him and forced her lightsaber into him with great strength. The Mandalorian, however, had gotten a move in too. Just as she stabbed him, he had forced his blade behind him and into her middle. The Mandalorian fell over, dead. Meetra fell to the ground.
She whimpered from the pain as she gripped the handle of the blade that was in her. Clenching her teeth, she pulled the weapon out of her and let out a scream. It hurt. Not the wound, but the fact that she was so unprepared for all this. The death, the pain, it was all too much. She felt tears welling up in her eyes and quickly wiped them away. What would Revan say about her now?
Picking herself up, she held her wound as she felt the blood start to seep out. She slowly brought herself to the cave entrance and looked out only to see total hopelessness. In front of her was lines and lines of Mandalorian soldiers marching right at her. Her silver eyes widened in despair and her mouth fell open in fear. She had lost. It was the end for her here. On this nameless moon, in a war that could have been stopped if the Jedi reacted. Instead she was to die here, now.
She looked down at her empty right hand. She clenched and unclenched it a few times. Her mind was going over the past week and her past life. She was only seventeen and now it would end there. So much she hadn't gotten to do. She had wanted one day to become a Jedi Master along with Revan or to fly to almost every planet and help out at least one person. Maybe even one day find someone to care for her the way Revan cared for Bastila. But now she had let men die and she would soon join them on this damned moon. She smiled bitterly though. She had faith in Revan, he would break through the Mandalorians and soon reach here. Maybe retrieve her body and see the number of Mandalorians she had taken with her. She wasn't about to let him down this last time.
She looked back out at the massive Mandalorian army and brought her right hand up. She grabbed onto her Jedi robes and ripped them off. The dark brown robes fell to the ground as she dramatically held her double bladed lightsaber up to her eyes and activated the twin purple streaks. Her tight fitting brown battle mesh was stained with blood from her wounds and sweat was dripping down her face as the front line of Madalorians drew down on her.
"For you, Revan." She whispered as she alone charged the vast armies of the Mandalorians. She ran right at them and noticed they had yet to fire. But that relief was gone in a second. As the Mandalorians noticed that there was a Jedi charging them they shot at her. Hundreds of bolts were flying towards her but she still pressed forward. Not one shot hit her. When she finally noticed that she was within feet of the first line of enemies without getting hit once she saw something out from the corner of her eye. She turned her head and saw a blue streak fly into the Mandalorian lines a few feet to the side of her. She smiled to herself. 'Revan,' she thought. She turned her attention back to the enemy and attacked with renewed hope.
The pair had dealt a blow when Republic reinforcements came and drove back the huge Mandalorian army. The battle lasted less than an hour and it was a Republic victory hands down. Throughout the battle Meetra had received many more wounds. In the final minutes of the battle she had succumbed to them and fell. Darkness overtook her and she thought she was dead for sure.
It was when the muffled sounds of shouting and rain echoed in her ears that she noticed she was not dead. She slowly opened one eye to see a dark hooded figure over her with his hand extended. She carefully opened both eyes and looked up to see the mask of Revan. He was standing over her and was healing her wounds. She looked to see many holes in his armor and blood seeping from his own wounds. She tried to speak but her throat was dry and nothing came out. Revan saw this and knelt down.
"Don't talk, just rest." He said with concern. She smiled a little and closed her eyes again. He was her guardian angel.
Meetra smiled a little at the thought. Revan had told her after the battle that he had heard her distress call and diverted his entire force into finding her. What he didn't tell her, and what she found out later, was that he did not rest or stop until he found her. He had personally cut through over 500 Mandalorians to reach her and was injured quite a bit. But he didn't heal himself or seek medical attention. Not even after he found her, instead he used most of the Force he had left to heal her and then personally carry her back to his base. It wasn't until the doctors confirmed that she would recover that he treated his own wounds. Again, he did not tell her this. After that Revan and her fought side by side in every battle on Dxun and almost every battle in the war.
But now here she was back on Dxun and without Revan. He wouldn't be coming here to rescue her now. She had to do this alone. The Sith were after her and she had to rely on herself to find a way to beat them. She would overcome this though. She had to. If she didn't, then no one else would. Now it all rested on her, this lone Exile, to save the galaxy. And she would be damned if she let the galaxy Revan loved so much be destroyed. She could do it, she had to.
If not for herself, than for Revan.
Fin.
A/N: Sorry about this chapter, it took a little longer to come out than I hoped but here it is nonetheless. Didn't know Meetra felt so strongly for Revan did you? Well she does, they were very close and both wished they were still close. And now Revan has a Sith spirit as well as the Jedi one, how fun. Alright next chapter will feature bits and parts of the planets that I feel have an important part on my story as well as an update on Revan's movements. If you didn't know I am hinting at a possible pairing with Meetra. Yes all you Atton/Meetra lovers will like my pick of her pairing. I have nothing against Mical but I just have to give it to the underdog and if you don't think Atton is the underdog than you obviously never played the game.
As usual please leave me a review telling me what you think. All opinions appreciated.
