~Monday (7:45 A.M)~
While looking at the small local cafes and apartment buildings as they pass by, Blaze is thinking about what happened during the weekend, mainly Saturday. The first one is the date with Silver at Twinkle Park. At first, it was a bit shaky since Silver thought Blaze hated him due to the unexpected kiss and she only saw him as a friend and nothing more. However, the confession Blaze made in the Ferris wheel to Silver that he's a special friend (first friend to be exact) cleared up the misunderstandings both of them had in their minds during the past week. But the one thing that stood out in the date was Silver giving Blaze the flame pendent necklace while at the ride. According to Silver, this necklace describes her perfectly because she's pretty and unique; the same thing goes for her powers as well. This comment from Silver made Blaze feel all light and much better about herself even more! It's not everyday someone would describe her like that!
But the other event that stood out to Blaze was the event (or disaster) at Asia Diamond between Wave and Katie. She just had to witness Wave yelling at her mother because of a flash from a camera, and Wave had no problems with telling her mom the truth, even if it hurts. Blaze has never seen a daughter be so disrespectful to their own mother before, and remembering the fact from Sonic that the two used to have a good relationship in the past makes it even more heartbreaking.
However, after she helped Wave heal up her hand, Blaze came up with the idea that she could try and fix their relationship starting today. Sure, it's going to be a challenge, but she's sure it'll work out in the end. That's the same thing that happened to Silver when he wanted to be friends with Blaze, and look how it turned out!
The question is how is she going to start it? For starters, she only has one class with Wave, and that's English. Even then, the two do talk to each other once in a while, but that's not enough. Not to mention neither of them have the same lunch period. So already, just finding the time to talk to Wave is going to be difficult for Blaze.
Oh, well. For now, she's going to have to think about this a little harder. And there's not that much time since she's in the car with her dad. And speaking of which, he noticed that Blaze has been staring at the window for a long time. Normally, it doesn't bother him, but he knows that Blaze would often have a conversation with him.
Wondering what's going on, he asked Blaze, "Barbara, are you okay?"
"Hmm...?" Blaze shook her thoughts away for a while once her dad called her. "Oh, sorry about that, dad. I was just thinking about something."
"Was it about what happened with you and Silver on Saturday?" her dad guessed.
"Uh... You can say that it's true," Blaze responded, looking down at her necklace. Unbeknownst to her dad, he doesn't know about what happened at Asia Diamond. Thank god. "Why are you asking me about that anyway?"
"Well, you seemed to be thinking heavy-" But Blaze's dad couldn't get any other words since he heard something pop. Unless there were random balloons on the street, those popping noises could be coming from one thing. Or rather two in this case. "Dear god, the tires!"
To be sure that the tires were popped, he parked the car onto the side close to a local restaurant and exited the car. Blaze did the same thing as well, worried about her father.
"Dad, are the tires okay?" Blaze asked her father.
Her father's only response was to point to one of the tires that's inflated, along with another one behind it, though this one has at least six small glass shards sticking into it. Most likely case is that the tires must have run over shards of glass (either from a bottle or a mirror).
"Great," Blaze moaned in disappointment while softly face-palming. "Now how are we going to get to school?"
"Walking to school is out of the question since it'll take at least a half-hour to get there," Blaze's dad listed one option out of the list.
"And mom already left for work an hour ago, so calling her to pick us up would be time consuming for not only her but for us as well," Blaze added as she grabbed her backpack from the car. "So now what?"
"Well..." Blaze's dad had though about it for a while and after about a minute of thinking, he pulled out his phone from his pocket to call someone he knows. After about the second ring, the person Blaze's dad has been trying to contact has finally picked up. "Hello, Travis? It's me, Noah. Yes, it's been a while since we last saw each other..."
While Noah is making the call to Travis, Blaze is looking at the text message Amy recently sent her about a minute ago. It reads:
"Rouge has invited us to her cover photo shoot on Saturday! You wanna come?"
Right. Sometime last week, Rouge mentioned to everyone that she's going to be in the cover for Glitter and wanted to invite everyone to it if she's able to. And according to Amy, it seems that Rouge was able to pull it off well.
Blaze has never been to an official photo shoot before and would normally pass this opportunity down. However, since Rouge worked hard to be featured in a front page of a popular magazine, Blaze would like to be there for support. She replied back to Amy with:
"I can go on Saturday."
Right when she's finished with sending her text message, Noah sounds like he's about to finish his conversation with Travis. "...You would really do that? Oh, that's great, Travis! Is your shop far from..." Noah turned around to see the address of the restaurant they're near. "Kaede's Diner? Only a five minute walk from there? Great! And again, thank you for doing this." He then ended his call and proceeded to go into the car to get his belongings (bag, suitcase, etc.).
"So, what's going to happen, dad?" Blaze asked Noah, missing out on almost all of the conversation.
"A close friend of mine is going to fix up the car," Noah explained to his daughter, "One of his workers is going to pick the car and we have to go to his workshop so he can take us to school."
"Okay. I guess it works out in the end."
Soon, the two Jewel members started to make their way to the repair shop, with Noah taking the lead as he knows where the place is exactly. Hopefully, the owner is going to keep his word that he's going to take them to school.
~Five minutes later~
After passing by another local diner (they must have passed by at least six diners on the way in just five minutes), Blaze saw Noah entering a repair shop called Meteor Gears; with the name almost sounding like a company for computers instead of a name for a repair shop. Ignoring the awkward name, Blaze took a moment to notice how the inside of the shop looked like.
For one, there's two blue sofas, four black sofa chairs, and eight black and gray chairs, all arranged in a specific way. The sofas are near the windows, the four sofa chairs are surrounding a glass coffee table on the left and right, and the eight chairs are on both sides of the sofa, two per side. Along that is a TV screen hanging, currently showing the news that occurred over the past month or so. Not to mention that the white tiled floor looks all polished. Blaze almost thought that this place just recently opened, but it's not since the stack of business cards that's in the check-in/out desk states it's been here since 1991.
"This is where your friend works, dad?" Blaze asked Noah.
"He just doesn't work here, he's the owner of this repair shop," Noah informed his daughter, which caused Blaze to open her mouth wide before closing it a second later.
Noah was about to ring the bell so Travis can be at the front desk, but he actually beat Noah to the bell. Travis had short dark purple (almost black) hair, dark blue eyes, wearing a blue polo shirt with a black tank top underneath it, boot-cut jeans, and black and blue Adidas shoes. What's striking about Travis is that he's about five inches taller than Noah (Noah is 5'11 ft), and almost a foot taller than Blaze. Dang.
"Noah, long time no see!" Travis greeted Noah with a smile while giving him a handshake.
"Yeah, it's nice to see you again, Travis," Noah replied back, "How's business?"
"The usual. Just replacing the big parts that some people can't do on their own." Travis took notice of Blaze, as if he's never seen her before. Curious on Blaze, Travis asked, "Noah, who's this girl? Your daughter?"
"Ah, yes!" Noah happily exclaimed. "This is my daughter, Barbara. She's a sophomore at Emerald High."
"Uh... Nice to meet you, Travis," Blaze greeted her father's friend.
"Hey, she looks like Bailey," Travis mentioned to Noah, referring to Blaze's mom.
"I know. Barbara is growing up so fast," Noah commented. "How about your daughter? How's she doing lately?"
"Oh, you mean-" Travis' voice was cut off when he heard someone's voice, a teenage girl's voice to be exact.
"Dad, are we going to leave for school soon?"
Blaze assumes that voice must be Travis' daughter and wanted to see how she looked like. But when she did, her amber eyes ended up growing wide and her mouth open wide once again as she couldn't believe who's Travis' daughter: Wave! But that's not the reason why Blaze is like this, oh not even close. It's because of how Wave currently looks like! For one thing that's noticeably different about Wave, her usually long hair has been cut off, reaching four inches below her shoulders (it's decently long still). Another one is the clothes she's wearing; they're the type of clothes that Amy, Cream, or any girl would die for! As in, Wave is wearing a dress that's white on the top with short-sleeves and a large red/light-pink bow on the right sleeve, along with a light pink ruffled skirt with a few pale pink laces that has a thin red belt on the bottom, and pale pink boots with white shoe laces and pale pink fringes on the top that reaches up to her knees, along with white over-the-knees socks.
Blaze doesn't know Wave as long as Jet or Sonic does, but she knows that Wave isn't the type of girl who would get in clothes like these!
"Oh, uh... Hi, Wave," Blaze nervously greeted her classmate. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"Neither did I," Wave added, not looking at Blaze.
"You two know each other already?" Noah asked his daughter.
"Yeah. She's my classmate in English," Blaze told Noah. "And I met her Saturday at Asia Diamond as well."
"Wow. I never thought your daughter would meet with mine," Noah said to Travis. "And speaking of your daughter, she looks really nice today. Does she always dress like that?"
Instead of letting her dad answer, Wave responded, "NO! My mom made me wear this!"
Everyone was startled when Wave gave out her answer in a harsh tone. Even Travis didn't expect this from her.
"How come?" asked Blaze, wanting to know why Wave was forced to wear this girly outfit.
"You don't have to-" Wave paused her sentence after remembering what Blaze did to her two days ago. Blaze did fix up Wave's wound from her hand, and Wave did told (accidentally) her secret to the lavender-haired teen. Maybe it's safe for her she should tell the Jewel girl about it. "My mom told me she'll pay me if I wore this outfit for one day."
"Huh?" Blaze didn't understand Wave's answer.
"It's to pay for the damages I did to the mirror."
Of course. None of them didn't want to remember the horrifying event that happened.
Travis cleared his throat and spoke, "Well, let's get you girls to school. And Noah as well."
Good choice, Travis. The only reason why he wants to leave is because he didn't want to see his daughter angry this early. Especially since he doesn't want to see his wife witnessing this short scene.
~Ten minutes later~
During the ride to school, everyone remained silent, with the only sound the music coming from the speakers, currently playing a One Republic song that Travis is humming along to.
It's been a long time coming since I've seen your face
I've been everywhere and back trying to replace
Everything that I had 'til my feet went numb
Praying like a fool that's been on the run
Despite the uplifting song and Travis' humming, the car is silent and no one even bothered to make a decent conversation. Not even Blaze. She really wants to talk to Wave about a lot of things. But how?
"So Wave," Blaze started the conversation, making Wave turn her head to face the lavender-haired teen. "How are you doing lately?"
That's the best you can come up with?! Seriously?! Blaze mentally scolded herself.
Blaze thought Wave wouldn't answer, but she was wrong when Wave replied with, "I'm doing fine. However, my mom's been bugging me lately."
"Really?" Blaze exclaimed in confusion on why Katie has been on Wave's nerves.
"Yeah. She wants me to attend a photo shoot that she's doing on Wednesday and has been asking me to go there multiple times during the weekend."
"So, what did you say to her?"
"Take a good guess as to what I said to my mom," Wave gave Blaze some hints to her answer.
Blaze didn't have to think that hard on what Wave said to her mom about attending a photo shoot: No. And knowing Wave, she probably yelled at Katie.
Okay, that's enough about the mother-daughter problems already! Blaze would really want to forget about it! She wants to talk about something else. But Blaze ended up getting blanks on what she could talk about. The closest she can get to is school! Hmm...
Heart's still beating but it's not working
It's like a million dollar phone that you just can't ring
I reached out trying to love but I feel nothing
Yeah, my heart is numb
"Uh, I was also wondering why you decided to cut your hair?" Blaze asked, one of those questions that have been bothering her for some while.
"It's been bugging me, especially since it takes like two minutes just to tie it up to a ponytail," Wave explained to Blaze. "Not to mention that my mom wanted to use me as a freakin' hair model."
"Oh..." Of course it would have to do with her mom.
"So I came to a conclusion that if I cut my hair, then she would find someone else as a hair model."
"I see. Does Jet know about this already?"
"No. And I hope he doesn't put me in a bitter mood today," Wave muttered as she looks at the window, seeing that they're almost to the school.
I doubt he would, Blaze thought. Jet would probably do the opposite for Wave.
All of a sudden, the current One Republic song can be barely heard from the speakers and Blaze looked at the window to see that they've finally arrived at Emerald High. Well, the car trip was shorter than Blaze expected.
"Alright, I'll see you after school Wave," Travis told Wave, currently making her way to the entrance while smiling to her dad. When he turned to Noah, he told the Geometry teacher, "And don't worry about your car. It'll be done when you pass by my shop after school."
"Thank you, Travis," Noah replied as he closed the door to Travis' dark blue Nisan, with Blaze doing so as well right as she exited the car.
After seeing the car exiting the school's parking lot, Noah kissed Blaze on the cheek before he entered the main building. Blaze was about to enter the school building when she heard her phone ring from her bag. She wondered who would be calling her at a time like this. Curious, she pulled her gray Cricket phone and checked the screen which reveals that it's Silver who's calling her. She wonders why Silver would be calling her, but she decides to take the call anyway. It's only 8:10, so Blaze has more than a half-hour to get to English class.
"Hi, Silver," Blaze started her conversation with Silver.
"Hey," Silver replied back. "You're wondering why I'm calling you."
"I have no idea. I thought you were worried that I haven't arrived at 8:00 like I always do."
It's true. Old school and even now, Blaze has always arrived at school at exactly 8:00 to get some extra time to do homework or read a couple of pages of whatever novel she's reading at this point. Rarely, there are moments that she hasn't arrived at 8:00, like when she has a doctor's/dentist's appointment or something occurs in the family she's forced to walk to school (her dad takes her to school).
"Uh... Honestly, I didn't know that," Silver admitted as he laughed a little bit. "But it's about the book report that Ms. Robinson assigned us two weeks ago."
"What about it?"
"It's due next Friday, so I was wondering if you've finished it."
"Of course I did. I've finished up the last of my questions during the weekend and I feel like they're great."
"Awesome. So, I'll see you in 1st period, Blaze," Silver concluded his call before he hanged up.
After the call ended, Blaze couldn't help herself but to blush, hearing Silver's voice on the phone. Just hearing his voice made Blaze feel like she can conquer the day. Hell, it doesn't help that his voice sounds incredibly sexy and-
Whoa, she's letting her thoughts travel way too far!
Blaze went into the double doors to get inside the school and the first thing she spotted when she went inside is Amy holding up her phone, taking a picture... of Wave in her girly outfit. Oh god, no. And Wave thought that Jet would make her day worse. No no no no! It's Amy that's starting the trigger of her horrible day.
She decides to go with where the two are (they're near the attendance office), and Amy notices Blaze after taking another picture of Wave.
"Hey there, Blaze," Amy greeted the pyrokinetic.
"Hi, Amy," Blaze replied back. "What are you...?"
"I'm taking pictures of Wave's totally awesome outfit!" Amy exclaimed, jumping up and down with glee. "I never knew she owned clothes like that!"
"I don't," Wave coldly objected to Amy's statement. "My mom made me wear these clothes!"
"Then how come you don't change clothes using your necklace?"
She knew someone is going to ask her that question. God damn it. Wave would consider doing that, but there's a few problems. One, most of the clothes are styles that Wave clearly dislikes and are clearly uncomfortable. Two, some of them that are tailored to Wave's taste are inappropriate for school, especially since they feature shorts and tank tops. And three, none of them are suited for school! College, they surely don't give a damn on what the students wear. But high school, yeah they do. They obviously have a school dress code that everyone should follow. At least... most of them do... cough... cough... Fiona and Mina!
"Can we drop the subject, please?" Wave requested, her arms crossed on her chest.
Amy sighed deeply as she really wants to ask more questions to Wave. Mainly about how she's able to get these clothes. The pink-haired girl replied, "Alright. Still, I would totally kill for your outfit. Hell, I would love to swap outfits with you!"
Wave groaned loudly in disappointment as she knew what Amy suggested wouldn't work. Even though she wants to, it's not possible since she can't possibly fit in either Amy's or Blaze's clothes. Amy is wearing a white-tank top that has a pink hedgehog, along with a fuchsia denim ¾ sleeved jacket with laces on the cuffs and collar, a red and pink striped skirt, light-pink knee-socks, and hot-pink/red (Wave can't tell the color) high tops. At least Amy's outfit isn't that much girly. With Blaze, she's currently wearing a dark lacy blue t-shirt with a teal vest, denim cargo pants, and silver flats with roses. Wave would be happy to swap clothes with Blaze... if she wasn't taller than her! Hell, she wouldn't fit in Blaze's shoes!
Disappointed that she's stuck in this outfit for the entire day (minus Gym class), Wave left Amy and Blaze to go in the library so she can catch up on her work; mainly Algebra II. Right when she left, the two sophomores heard a few freshmen girls squealing and screaming in excitement. Normally, there are only a few freshmen who are alive on Monday morning. Today, there's like about a hundred girls excited about something...
"Ohmigod! Did you hear the latest news?" one freshmen asked her friend.
"No. What is it?" her friend asked.
"Hello? A photographer that's known for shooting famous models in awesome magazines is coming to this school today!"
"No way! Who is it?"
"I don't know her full name, but all I caught was Stark..."
Well, crap. Amy and Blaze secretly felt sorry for Wave since her mom is going to be here! For what? To see she's wearing the outfit she gave to her? Or worse? Who knows...
For now, all they hope is that she doesn't give her mom another outbreak, especially at school.
~1st Period: English (8:52 A.M)~
Two minutes after the bell has ringed for class to begin, Ms. Robinson began to write down the agenda for today since she literally arrived five minutes before the bell ringed due to traffic. While Blaze was waiting for Ms. Robinson to finish writing the agenda on the white board, she noticed that most of the female students were whispering the same thing the freshmen were talking about earlier this morning; about Katie arriving at this school. It's annoying the crap out of Wave, she slammed her head on the desk, with her copy of The Kite Runner on top of her head. What Blaze also noticed is that Sally is sitting next to her, rather than Mina like she always does. It's been like this since the Homecoming Idol auditions. And prior to those events, Sally would put on make-up on her face or do her nails during class. Now, she's doing the book report, and she's currently on question 11. She even noticed that Jet isn't here today since he's behind Sonic and next to Wave. Either he's sick, has a doctor's appointment, or a family emergency came up.
Well, at least Ms. Robinson is done writing the agenda for today. As she placed the marker back on the board, she pointed to one that's written in red compared to the others that are written in blue.
"Class, the book report is going to be due next Friday and I assume most of you are almost done or already done," Ms. Robinson informed the class. "If so, you are happy to turn it to me today for extra points. You'll only get those extra points if you turn it to me before October 5th."
The class begins to get excited about the information Ms. Robinson has told them. The noise lowered down as Ms. Robinson signals the class to be quiet.
"I'll give you the remainder of this time to work on your book reports," Ms. Robinson announced to the class. "Make sure you use your time wisely."
Once Ms. Robinson is done with what she has to say, everyone began to move to where their partners are, with Amy going to Sonic, and Blaze moving to where Silver is. However, Blaze noticed that Wave and Espio aren't together despite the two of them being partners, along with Jet (who isn't here at this moment).
"Blaze, can I see the report?" Silver requested.
Blaze pulled out her binder and after a quick look, she found her book report with her share of the sixteen questions, stapled together.
"Sweet! I can't wait to see what Vanilla thinks about our report when she grades it," Silver exclaimed with glee.
"So, where's your report?" Blaze wondered.
Silver held up his report, also stapled and had his neat handwriting in his paper. "Got it right here," Silver smiled. "You want me to turn it in to Ms. Robinson now?"
"Can we read each others responses before we turn it in?" Blaze suggested to Silver, curious to see what Silver wrote down for the questions.
"Yeah, it's no problem." Silver handed Blaze his copy, along with Blaze giving her report to him.
The first thing Silver wrote down on his paper is the first question he had to do, along with his answer.
Identify one of the main protagonists strong and weak points.
Silver's answer for the question:
One of the first protagonists the reader is introduced is 15-year-old Shuya Nanahara. When he's thrown into the dreaded Program, Shuya is determined to find a way to get not only himself but his entire class to escape this dreaded game. Despite witnessing several of his classmates getting murdered and accidentally murdering one of them, Shuya doesn't give up on his main goal, along with staying alive. His determination and utter kindness are the good points that makes Shuya a well liked-
Blaze didn't get a chance to read the rest of Silver's answer as she heard the door being opened and the person who's currently entering the room is Katie, holding a different camera than she did on Saturday (Maria has the camera at her house). And if on cure, Wave slammed her head on her desk once again.
"For the love of god," Wave mumbled angrily as her mom walked towards her desk. She would curse, but since she's in Ms. Robinson's room, she's not allowed to do so.
"Hi sweetie," Katie greeted Wave, oblivious to her daughter's rage.
"Mom, what are you doing here? Do you even have permission to enter this school?" Wave asked Katie, her head still on the desk.
"Yes, I told them that I was here so-" Katie didn't even manage to complete her sentence when Wave rudely interrupted her with:
"So you take a picture of me wearing this outfit so you can send it to your agents and make me an anorexic model? I don't think so."
"Wave, you look amazing in that outfit. Can I please-"
"No," Wave adamantly refused. "You can go ahead and ask any girl in this class to take my place for you."
Bad idea, Blaze mentally said before she heard most of the girls squealing in delight that they're given this opportunity to become models.
And one by one, the girls begin to crowd over Katie, all of them begging her to take a picture of them in hopes they'll become models in the future. Unfortunately, Wave is stuck in the crowd, meaning she can't escape it in any angle whatsoever. If she uses her wings to get out, most of them will freak out and will throw books or their bags at her. And she doesn't want to be struck by their backpacks since they contain textbooks and their piles of random stuff that aren't essential for school.
The girls outburst ended up being insane that it caused Silver and Blaze to be knocked out of their seats! Same thing with Sonic, Espio, Amy, and Sally! One minute, they were working on their book reports, now it's being interrupted by the girls wanting to be models!
"Oh, man. This is getting out of hand," Sonic commented as he's getting up from the floor.
"You don't say, Ryan," Espio commented. "This needs to be stopped at all costs."
"Leave it to me!" Silver exclaimed, his hands glowing. What Silver is going to do is that he plans to lift all of the girls crowding Katie and Wave without hurting any on them. However, he wasn't able to even begin step one of his plan when one of the girls accidentally kicked Silver in the stomach, sending him flying back to the five other sophomores.
Concerned about Silver, Blaze checked on him and asked, "Are you okay, Silver?"
"Yeah, I'm good. I'm lucky that girl didn't wore heels or I'd be in more pain."
"Well," Amy pulled her hammer from her heart charm, holding it like she's ready to smack some people with it. "Maybe the aggressive approach will work with these girls!"
"You're talking my language, Ames!" Sonic joined in with the pink-haired girl.
The two partners agreed that these girls needs to calm down and the only way that they'll get the memo is that if a few girls would get smacked by Amy's massive hammer. At least it's better than beating the crap out of every girl like Sonic suggested in his thoughts.
However, they were unable to touch a single girl when Espio pulled both of their collars from Sonic's red polo shirt and Amy's fuchsia denim jacket.
"Espio, what the hell?!" both Sonic and Amy exclaimed to Espio in anger.
"There's a better way to calm down the crowd without violence," Espio told the two.
"Like what? A noise louder than all the girls combined?" Sonic suggested.
Espio nodded his head to Sonic's suggestion. At least there's no violence involved. But the problem is how is Sonic going to pull this off? He looked at Sally and remembered the Homecoming Idol auditions where she used air horns during the performances.
Hoping that Sally is willing to help, Sonic asked the brunette, "Hey Sal, do you happen to have any air horns leftover to make the crazy crowd stop?"
"I do, but they're at home," Sally answered to Sonic, who replied 'Aw' in a disappointing tone. "Besides, even if I have them with me, I'd be in more trouble than I'm already in."
"Oh, sorry."
"That's fine. I'm suggesting that we could use my speakers," Sally pulls out a white teddy bear speaker that has a light blue iPod attached to it already from her bag, "And play a loud song that will make them freak out."
"Great plan! Can I choose a song?"
Sally gave Sonic her iPod and let him scroll through over 900+ songs that she has (yes, she's a sucker for most music). As he's checking out the songs, he mutters the names of the songs and the artists that are on there, and most of the time, his eyes grows wide as he didn't expect her to have those songs on her iPod.
"Oh my god! You got Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Skillet, and even Flyleaf?!" Sonic exclaimed, surprised that Sally would have artists like these.
"I have more of other bands if you're wondering. Journey, Styx, InnerPartySystem, The Offspring," Sally added to Sonic's list. "Do you want me to go on?"
"Uh... No thank you. I'll just hit shuffle and see what song plays on the speakers."
Sonic scrolls back up from the hundreds of songs he just passed by and finally made it to the one that says 'shuffle' with two arrows making an 'x' shape. Right as he pressed the button (the middle small circle), music starts to burst out of the teddy bear speaker. The song starts off with a drum and symbols banging to the beat before a guitar riff comes on. By the second riff, the first words that came out on the speakers were:
HELL YEAH! WHOO!
Right at that moment, the girls currently in the crowd stopped what they were doing to see where the music is coming from. The plan to quiet down the girls with unexpected loud music is working... until someone started to yell out 'Hell yeah!' and it started to become a chant. Five seconds later, all of the girls in the crowd, and even the guys who were left out, were all chanting out the main lyrics to this song.
"So much for that plan working," Sally said as she face-palmed herself. "You think I should stop the music?"
"Yes," Amy and Blaze agreed with Sally's suggestion as she paused the music.
Even after the music stopped, almost the entire class is chanting it and the girls are still wanting to ask Katie if they can be models or not. And worse, Ms. Robinson couldn't stop the madness, yelling at her female students to calm down or they'll get 5 points taken off their book report and get detention after school today. However, none of the girls can hear her voice as it's being overshadowed by the girl's voices.
Seeing that her efforts are useless, Vanilla ended up where the six students are; the only ones that are trying to calm down the crowd.
"Oh, how are we going to clean up this mayhem?" Vanilla sighed deeply, looking at the six sophomores.
"No clue, ma'am," Espio replied. "We can't think of anything else that doesn't involve violence."
"So we're going to stand here all class period?" Blaze exclaimed with worry in her voice.
"More like all day," Silver added. "Please tell me this is going to end soon or I'm gonna-"
"Okay, what the hell is going on here?"
Ms. Robinson and the six sophomores know that neither of them said it, and they knew it couldn't be one of the male students left out on either side. That leaves with one possible person:
"Jet!" Sonic exclaimed to him, rushing to the door where Jet is currently standing. "Oh, thank god you're here!"
"Why are so happy to see me, blue blur?" Jet asked in confusion. "I just came back from the doctor's to get my dumb shots," Jet explained to Sonic on his absence, showing him a band-aid on his left arm.
"Well, you see..." Sonic can only point to the crowded girls before continuing, "Girls are crowding around Wave and her mom so they can have a chance to be models or something..."
"Yeah, I'm listening," Jet nodded his head as he payed attention to Sonic's explanation. The only reason he's listening to Sonic is that he mentioned Wave and her mom. With these two in the mix, he knows that something nasty is going on. Just like what happened on Saturday at Asia Diamond.
"And we've been trying to shut them up but nothing's working!" Sonic finished explaining as he waved his arms frantically. "So, can you help us? Please?!"
"Hmm..." Jet thought about it for a few moments before he responded with, "Alright. I'll do it."
"Sweet!"
"But the next time you come to Asia Diamond for halo-halo, you need to pay me $2 extra," Jet made a deal with Sonic.
"Fine," Sonic accepted, though he didn't like the fact he's going to pay $4.25 for halo-halo.
"First, give me a huge book," Jet demanded as he dropped his backpack on the floor.
Silver tossed Jet his copy (Espio's) of Battle Royale and the green-haired teen stood on top of one of the desk. Ms. Robinson normally wouldn't accept this type of behavior, but in a situation like this, it seems to be the only appropriate action that would involve the least amount of violence. Once he's sure that everything would go according to plan, Jet started to set his plan in motion by slamming the book from where he is to the tiled floor. At least four girls noticed this and wanted to know where that slamming noise came from. When he sees that a few girls are finally paying attention to this, Jet can now go with the final part of his plan. And it's the best part. Why?
"EVERYBODY, SHUT UP!" Jet yelled to the entire classroom.
Yep. He gets to scream at everyone. And it worked as all the girls stopped crowding around Wave and Katie and the boys stopped chanting 'Hell yeah'. Everyone in the classroom were startled by it, some of them fell to the ground. Jet's yell was loud that the class next door were wondering if something happened with the teacher (which is false).
"Finally," Silver sighed in relief that the madness is over.
"You girls, get back at what you were doing," Jet demanded to his female classmates. "And for those of you wanting to be a model, keep dreaming! Especially if your name starts with an 'M' and ends with an 'A' and has purple streaks on your fake blond hair!"
Sonic and Amy ended up laughing as they knew Jet was referring to Mina, who was trying to gain the attention of Katie the entire time by shouting things like "I have good boobs" or "I'm sexy and you know it". Thank god Jet shut her up.
With every girl back in their seats, Jet jumped off of the desk and went to where Wave and Katie were. But by the time he arrived there, his cheeks were already blushing in a bright shade of red, it would almost be the color of a strawberry or a tomato. He's blushing because Wave is wearing a really cute outfit (yes, he admits it in his thoughts) and her hair has been cut down! He remembered that Wave didn't had a haircut for at least two years if he can recall, and that her hair has reached down to her waist. Now it just reaches close to her chest! How come Wave didn't mention this to anyone?! Whatever the reason, she really looks gorgeous... Just like...
Oh, no! He's not even going to go there! Never! He would love to forget about what happened six years ago!
"Uh... Hey there, Wave," Jet said, his cheeks still red. "How are you doing?"
"Fine until my mom just showed up," Wave answered, ignoring the fact that Katie is still standing next to her. "And where were you?"
"Doctor's office to get a few shots," Jet explained to Wave, giving her the same answer like he did with Sonic. "So, what's with that outfit of yours?"
"Mom made me wear it so I can get money to pay damages to the mirror."
Please don't make me remind about what happened on Saturday, Jet thought.
"So now that this event is over, you want to work on the... book..." Jet's voice seemed to trail off as he watched Wave snatch Katie's camera off of her hands before slamming it to the ground with as much force as she can. She heard a crack of one of the lens and spotted one of the glass of the lens on the ground.
Wave glared at her mom before angrily ordering her, "Get out of here."
Oh, no. This can't be a repeat of what happened on Saturday.
"Wave, that's not my camera. I'm going to get in trouble if I turn it in like this," Katie tried to explain to her daughter.
"I don't care!" Wave snapped at her mom, pushing her copy of The Kite Runner off of her desk and crashed on the floor. "Just get out of the classroom or Ms. Robinson will call the front office and will take you out by force!"
"She wouldn't do-"
But to Katie's displeasure, she witnessed Vanilla nodding her head to what Wave had said earlier. Apparently, the main reason is because Katie came to her classroom unannounced and caused a lot of mayhem during the short period, Vanilla didn't want Katie to be in her classroom for the rest of the period. Let alone the entire day.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Stark," Vanilla apologized to Katie. "But I'm afraid you have to leave like Miss Luana said. I don't want you causing any trouble at this campus."
"I... I understand..." Katie replied, slowly picking up the camera from the floor and started to make her way to the door. But before she can turn the knob, she turned to her daughter and asked, "Wave, will you ever forgive me for this?"
Without any thought, Wave answered to her mom, "Never."
Katie didn't touch the doorknob after she heard Wave's response. The answer ended up being the same whenever Katie asks to be forgiven by Wave.
"Wave, you always say that ever since Sky-"
Noting that her mom is almost about to say that name, Wave yelled to Katie, "DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT NAME EVER AGAIN!"
With that, Katie left the classroom, not even looking at Wave's face as she exited the door. Everyone in the classroom, even Mina, were shocked that Wave would yell at her mom in front of the entire class, and in front of Vanilla of all people! As a single mother, Vanilla almost felt like crying as she witness one of her students having a deep hatred of one of their parents; mainly a mother. Someone who brought them to this world, raised them, and taught them what's right and wrong in this world.
Vanilla told her class, "Everyone, continue with your reports, please. And don't say a mean word to Miss Luana or it's an automatic detention for you. Understand?"
Everyone nodded their heads and continued to work in silence, fearing that one word would get them into trouble. As Vanilla finished her announcement, she gave a gesture to Wave to meet her outside the hallways, most likely to discuss about what happened during this mayhem.
Right when the two were outside the classroom, Jet hurriedly walked to his desk to finish up his book report since he had to do one more question for his part of the project; and he had the most out of the three! He had to answer the last six questions! But before he can pull out his report from his backpack, Silver came up to his desk, along with Sonic, with the amber-eyed-teen having his arms folded across his chest. Oh, whenever he does this while his eyes are glaring at someone, it means he demands answers. Especially with what happened today and Saturday.
"Jet," Silver started to speak to the green-haired Filipino, "We need to talk."
"If it's about me charging Sonic $2 extra for halo-halo because of how he made me lose my balance on one race last week, then-" Jet was about to reply until he saw Silver shaking his head side to side.
"It's not that. It's about that name Wave's mom mentioned. And I clearly remember that you have a large history with Wave, along with Sonic."
"Guess it's about time we start telling Vennie the truth. Huh, Jet?" Sonic said to Jet, brushing his fingers through his hair.
Well, Jet has been keeping this secret from everyone, except Sonic and Storm. Besides, keeping a dark secret for six years is a lot of pressure for someone. It's bound to get out at one point. For Jet's case, it's now. Especially with the crazy events that's been happening lately. He didn't mind Wave hating on Katie, but as each year passes by, it gets worse and worse, with the yelling and Wave 'accidentally' breaking some stuff, and it's almost to the point where Wave is willing to hurt her mom physically! And today is no exception. Now, enough is enough.
"Of course. Ang katotohanan ay dapat itakda ang libreng isang araw."
The truth has to be set free one day.
Author's Note: And yes, the last line is a translation to the last words Jet says in this chapter. I'm glad I got this chapter here faster than I did in a while! It's summer vacation for me, and graduation is coming up in a few days and I'm off to college in two months. Man, everything here is going way too fast. So many new things coming at me and I don't know if I'll be able to handle them all.
Off topic, but who wants a Wii U now that Mario Kart 8 is out? Me! No, not because of Luigi's death stare that's been getting a lot of attention lately on the news and Tumblr (parts of it) but because the game looks fantastic and the music sounds amazing! There's one track that looks similar to Sugar Rush from Wreck-it-Ralph!
But anyway, I'm going to give you guys one hint on what the next chapter is about based on the title I have for you guys. The next chapter is going to be called "Bleeding Heart". Why's that? That's for you guys to guess, unless you guys checked my main Tumblr blog... Not my ask blog...
If you like this chapter, leave a review!
Happy summer! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
