I do not own Percy Jackson or Danny Phantom.
My cat is so funny. He glared at my sister when she sat in his chair. Then he kicked her out of it. It was very amusing.
Danny's PoV.
Calli and her friends ditched us as soon as we got to the mall. Leaving us to deal with Paulina and the other A-listers. Not much fun. We found them at the food court. Paulina flagged us down and we headed over to them.
"Where's Calli?" she asked when we reached them.
"A few more of her friends dropped by today and she's with them somewhere around here." I answered her.
"Even with a dangerous ghost after her she thinks she can do whatever she wants." Sam grumbled. "We are going out of our way to keep her safe and she doesn't care."
"She might not entirely realize how much danger she's in." Valerie pointed out. "Though she'd be an idiot not to."
"Or she knows and is being stubborn to annoy me." Sam said with a tad bit of anger.
"That could be it too." Val agreed, doubtfully.
"Her friends could have hung out with us, too." Paulina said, not quite as happy as she was before.
"Maybe we should go find them." Kwan spoke up.
"I don't think that's going to end well." I told him. "On our way here I could tell that they wanted to talk about something in privet. She's already tried slicing me and Jazz to pieces just for waking her up on the weekends. No telling what she'll do if we bud in on her privet conversions."
"We did learn an interesting fact about her this morning." Jazz said.
"What is it?" Dash asked.
"Calli can apparently see the future." Sam said like she didn't believe it. She most likely doesn't. Or she's miffed about Calli not telling us about seeing Dan trying to kill me. Possibly both.
"You're joking." Val said, crossing her arms.
"Well she doesn't think she can but her friends sure do." Tucker said. "She's also not a morning person."
"Already kind of figured that." Sam rolled her eyes at him.
"Yeah but her friends just confirmed it."
"I think she's hiding something from us." Valerie said.
"Yeah but what?" Kwan asked.
"Well what do we know about her?" Jazz asked.
"She's annoying." Sam grumbled.
"She's strong." Dash said, rubbing his arm, which still had a brace on it.
"Knows how to fight." I said.
"Fearless." Valerie put in.
"She's almost as pretty as me." Paulina said.
I was tempted to say something about her water powers but I held myself back. I had promised her not to tell anyone. But then again, she told her friends about me.
"And she has PTSD and paranoia." Dash ended.
"Could she be a Halfa like you, Danny?" Kwan asked. They all looked at me.
"I don't know. It would explain her strength and if she's been fighting ghosts that could also explain the PTSD, paranoia, and fearlessness. But if she is then she's not part ectoplasmic entity."
"Well what other type of ghost is there?" Paulina asked bewildered.
"I don't know that either but Calli first saw me as Phantom she asked what kind of ghost I was because I didn't look or act like the ones she's met before." I answered.
"Back at the house she told her friends about Dan. That he's an ecoplasmic entity and how only Poltergeists were the other ghostly things left for her to meet." Jazz threw in.
"Then there's those snake women things that had that net that neutralized Danny's powers." Sam said.
"Didn't she call those things monsters?" Tucker spoke up.
"She also used a gauntlet of the same metal as the net on me that first night she taught me." I told them.
"That was still amusing." Valerie said. "So she's at least some kind of ghost hunter. Do you know what she did with that net? Or where she keeps that gauntlet?"
"She said she would get rid of the net and other weapons. We left her to that so Danny's secret wouldn't be compromised. But turns out that didn't work so well." Tucker answered. "No idea where she keeps the gauntlet."
"I think I do." I told them, remembering that she grabbed something out of the bag next to her bed that night. That must have been what she grabbed. "But there's something else about that metal other than it just being able to neutralize a ghost's powers."
"What else does it do?" Dash asked.
"Tucker and I couldn't even touch it." Sam said.
"Like it would burn you or..?" Kwan asked hesitantly.
"No, we literally couldn't touch it." Tuck said. "Our hands just passed through it like it wasn't even there."
"So a ghost metal?" Paulina said, in a voice that she thought was spooky.
"Could be." I shrugged.
"Maybe she's like Buffy the vampire slayer." Kwan said helpfully.
"Oh I love that show." Dash revealed. Sam did a face palm.
"Well, whatever she is, she's good at keeping it secret. Mostly anyway." I said glumly. We sat there in silence for a few minutes.
"Well, this is dull." Kwan finally said. I laughed without humor. Just then I noticed about six guys heading toward us. They were big and covered with tattoos and were carrying baseball bats. One of them had a mesh sack with some type of balls inside.
"Um, do any of you know those guys?" I asked pointing to the group that was getting ever closer. Their presence was sending chills down my spine and I had the unmistakable feeling that something bad was about to happen.
"No, why? What is it Danny?" Sam asked sounding concerned.
"I think we should leave." I told them while standing up. That feeling of danger getting stronger the closer they got to us.
"What?" Paulina asked surprised. Run! My instincts screamed at me, but I couldn't leave my friends.
"We have to leave. Now!" My fear must have leaked into my voice because that got them moving. As we started moving away from them one called out.
"Leaving so soon half-blood? We just came for a little snack." He said, though I have no idea who he was talking to because they weren't looking at me. "Came and join us. We're just dying to have you." That was when things got really strange. They started to grow until they were seven or eight feet tall. Their skin turned red and their baseball bats became metal clubs the spikes on the end. The one that spoke hit the table we were just sitting at out of the way. it landed a good fifty feet away, luckily it didn't hit anyone. It was dead silent for a beat.
"Everybody run!" I yelled as I turned into Phantom. That's when all hell broke loose.
