Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for missing Wednesday's update but I've been busy getting ready for Christmas and everything! Anyway, I have a few things I have to announce.
1) There will be NO UPDATE this Wednesday because it's Christmas, just thought I'd let you know! I'll make up for missing last Wednesday's update and this Wednesday's update by giving you a long Saturday update next week.
2) I've decided to include all of the Sponsorships to the Tributes at the end of the chapter. If you want to know how many points you have, just let me know.
3) It looks like with half of the Tributes dead, this story will be over fairly soon :( I'm not sure if I want to write another SYOT or if I'll try something else but it WILL be Hunger Games related. So let me know if you have any suggestions.
Okay, that's all. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own the Hunger Games.
Clif Pac's POV:
Clif dived into the water and swam for his life. The boy from One and, oddly enough, the girl from Five were in hot pursuit of him. The one time he let his guard down! He clambered up onto land and he could hear splashes not to far away from him. He sprinted towards a tree and climbed up as fast as lightning. He perched himself onto the highest branch just as the pair arrived at the bottom of the tree.
"That wasn't very smart, hot stuff." The girl shouted up at him.
Clif mentally slapped himself in the face as the girl took out a spear and aimed at him.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!" He heard someone shout.
Julie-Anne came charging through the brush and collided with the girl. Clif was dumb-founded and he was momentarily stunned. The girl and Julie-Anne wrestled on the ground while the boy from One began to climb the tree, holding his sword in one hand and he had a determined look on his face. Clif looked around him, panicking. He spotted a few berries dangling from a branch above him. From Clif's hobby of plant identification, he could tell that the berries were Nightlock. He grabbed them and stuffed them into his pocket for the moment. Never know when they might come in handy. He continued to look around him and noticed a loose branch a few feet away from him. He scooted over to the branch and began tugging it. He looked down and saw that Julie-Anne and the girl were still wrestling and the boy from One was almost at Clif's branch. Clif pulled and pulled and pulled and eventually, the branch came free. Apparently just in time too as Clif felt a hand grab him.
Clif spun around and his branch collided with the boy's head. The boy dropped his sword and fell to the ground with a sickening crack.
The girl from Five and Julie-Anne stopped fighting and the girl ran over to the boy's body, screaming.
"No! No! Tiberius! Wake up! Don't do this!" The girl howled.
Clif hurriedly climbed down the tree and grabbed the sword that the boy dropped. He raised the sword above his head and was about to swing down onto the girl from Five, until he felt a soft hand on his shoulder. He turned around to see Julie-Anne, battered and bruised. She held out her hand and Clif took it. Julie-Anne lead Clif to the edge of the island and they both swam to the next island, the splashes they made momentarily blocking out the screams of the girl from Five.
Niko McIntyre's POV:
Niko and Rose had survived all of this time with no problems. They were always stocked up on supplies, which seemed to be in abundance this year, they hadn't run into another Tribute since the Bloodbath and Rose and Niko were getting along really well. In fact, they'd shared a few kisses since the Games began.
"Niko, could you hand me some matches?" Rose asked sweetly.
"Sure." Niko replied.
He walked over to their backpacks and searched through them. There were no matches to be found.
"There are no matches." Niko told Rose.
Rose's face grew impatient and tired. She clenched her fists and shoved Niko out of the way, searching through the backpacks for herself.
She sighed, 'Well I guess we better go to the Cornucopia and get some.'
Niko and Rose had been to the Cornucopia a few times since the start of the Games. The Career alliance was very shaky this year and no-one really expected them to last. In fact, there were only two Tributes left from a Career district, and one was something like 13. So Niko and Rose began their trek up the mountain and when they arrived, Niko's jaw dropped.
All of the weapons and supplies that were in the Cornucopia the day before were gone! He felt Rose tense up beside him and he braced himself for what was about to happen.
"Where are all of the supplies!" Rose bellowed.
"I..I don't know." Niko replied in a tiny voice.
"You are useless! Can't you do anything right?" Rose shrieked at him.
"But, I didn't do anything." Niko defended himself.
"Exactly! You do nothing! I cook! What do you do? Stand there and look stupid!" Rose continued to shout.
"Calm down Rose. Give me a kiss." Niko said, leaning in.
"Get off me you creep! Don't touch me! The only reason I'm in this alliance and the only reason I'm acting like I love you is for the sponsors! And we haven't gotten any! Why? Because you're a revolting, unappealing, disgusting excuse for a man!" Rose exploded.
Niko clenched his fists and his eyes narrowed. The red mist set in and before Niko knew it, he had his hands clamped firmly around Rose's neck. She began to squirm and her eyes went dim. Eventually, she stopped moving and Niko let go. Then, he looked down at her beautiful, empty body and he immediately regretted what he had just done. He began sobbing as a cannon fired and he knelt down beside her body.
"Shhh, little princess. Shhh. Sleep tight." Niko whispered in the dead girl's ears, closing her eyes.
He leaned down and kissed her. He kissed her lips, her forehead, her cheeks, her nose and her neck before he stood up and stroked her arm. He took Rose's backpack and left the disturbing scene.
Death list:
Rose Leslie, District Eleven
Sponsors:
Ava Killian: Full backpack
Celeste Starling: Dagger x1 and soup.
Sorry that it's such a short chapter, but I'm short on time! Next Saturday's chapter will be VERY long, so I'm very very sorry. I hope you enjoyed!
