Months had passed since the last update (sorry about this!) and many, many things had happened including the fact that I might have lost all of my story data in a broken hard disk, but luckily I had backup in my flashdisk! So, here's the very last update for this story! The final chapter!
Disclaimer: I don't own Letter Bee/テガミバチ characters! I only own the story ideas and a few certain characters!
Letter Bee - VOID
Chapter 25 - The End of the Battle
"Did we... win...?" Lag looked around as a sphere of light remained from the explosion.
The sphere of light slowly flew up, taking the former spot of the artificial sun with a small trail of light following below it. The sphere of light grew bigger, showering the whole Amberground with warm light. Shards of heart soon rained on the formerly dark land, landing on many people who had their hearts taken away from them.
"Those are shards of heart..." Jiggy watched the falling shards along with Zazie, who was also watching them.
"The stolen hearts of men are returning," The two Letter Bees turned to their former superior, who was watching the falling shards with a cigarette in his mouth, "Those whose hearts had been taken away, those whose hearts had been replaced by fake ones such as I am will have their hearts returned to them, thanks to the sacrifice of a loving mother..."
"Are you Largo Lloyd, the actual Largo Lloyd?" The express delivery Bee asked, getting a nod in return.
"There's no need to be concerned about me. You should worry more about Amberground, because its capital city has been destroyed by the Unknowns," Lloyd turned to where the lizard-like creature used to be and found Lag kneeling in front of the building's remains along with Niche and Steak behind him, "He should also understand that sacrificing herself for the world she loves was his mother's wish all along..."
-Lag's POV-
A month had passed since the defeat of the Unknowns. Akatsuki was completely destroyed by the Unknowns, making Yuusari the capital of Amberground. No one dared to come back to Akatsuki anymore, even its townspeople. The ruins of the former capital remained there, along with the bridge connecting Yuusari to Akatsuki.
Silure-san, who was a former director before Lloyd-san, became the head government with the help from Lloyd-san himself. Many senior Bees had high hopes for her even after she had resigned from her position as a Bee Hive director years ago. Aria-san had been officially asked to be the Bee Hive director once more, resuming leading the Letter Bees in their job.
Noir had regained Gauche's heart back, but he didn't lose Noir's. The ones who were unable to become spirits who were with him were hired to be dingos, just like how I had Niche and Steak as my dingos. He had also decided to stay in Yuusari with us, living in his old room. He didn't become a Letter Bee anymore, though, but he decided to help Gobeni-san with his weapon and bread shop.
Zazie, Connor, and I were back on duty after being given a day off to recover from the battle with Unknowns. I was glad to be back on duty again, because I didn't want people to wait longer for their hearts, in the form of letters, to be delivered to their friends and families, the ones they hadn't been able to see often.
As for Sylvette, she had been staying in the Bee Hive's clinic for the upcoming birth, just to be safe. I would always come back from my deliveries early to see her and hoped that the baby would come soon, and to see Gauche at Gobeni-san's place as well. After our child was born and Gauche got married to Aria-san in a few months, we would have a big and happy family.
-Normal POV-
"Lag Seeing, deliveries done!" The Albisian Letter Bee entered the building while running with Niche and Steak, followed by his two Letter Bee friends.
"Zazie Winters, deliveries done!" Zazie soon followed with Wasiolka, leaving Connor with Gus behind them.
"Connor Kluff… deliveries… done…" Connor entered the building while panting, carrying Gus on his back.
"Looks like Gus really likes you that he wants to get on your back most of the time!" Zazie joked, to which Connor replied with a tired stare.
"Seeing! You're here!" The three Letter Bees noticed the corpse doctor approaching them with a smile on his face, "You should head to the clinic now. The baby is coming."
"Y-Yes!" Lag bowed down excitedly, "Thank you very much for telling me, Dr. Thunderland!" With that, Lag dashed towards the clinic, followed by his friends.
Lag ran towards the clinic excitedly, almost running into a few people on the way. As he and his friends reached the door towards the clinic, Lag could see that his brother-in-law was waiting in front of the door, nervousness written all over his face. He noticed as Lag's group ran to his way and let out a nervous smile.
"Lag, the baby should be born any minute," Gauche told Lag, widening the smile on the Letter Bee's face, "Aria and Mana-san had been inside helping Sylvette with the delivery."
"Hang on just a little more, Sylvette… The baby is almost out!" Aria's voice was heard from the other side of the door.
"You can do it, Suede-san… You're almost there…" Another female voice was heard, which came from the botanist.
Sylvette's scream could be heard afterwards, followed by a short silence and the sound of the baby crying. Lag and Gauche, who had their ears on the door smiled at each other, happy with the birth of a new family member. A few seconds later, the door opened to reveal the female director with a smile on her face.
"It's a healthy baby girl. Sylvette did an excellent job with her delivery. You should come in and see them," Aria moved out of the way and let the five people in.
"Lag… big brother… everyone…" Sylvette said weakly as she saw them came into the room. As tired as she was, she had a smile on her face as she held her bundle of joy in her arms.
"Sylvette…" Lag went to her side to see her condition and their newborn daughter, "She's beautiful… What should we name her?"
Sylvette turned to her baby for a moment, and then back to her husband, "The name relating to the light… How about… we name her Eleanor, Eleanor Seeing?"
Lag nodded and smiled, "I like it," He took his daughter from Sylvette's arms, "Welcome to the world, Eleanor Seeing…"
The others watching the family was happy for the birth of their daughter. Aria tried leaning closer to Gauche, who put a hand on her shoulder in response and pulled her closer. Zazie smiled as he saw his friend's newborn daughter, but was aware in case the corpse doctor was nearby. Connor peeked from under the bed to witness the scene as he was becoming tired with Gus' weight on his back.
As the Queen of Amberground watched over her son's family from above, her light showered even the dark parts of Yodaka. Her body had become the light, something that people would want by risking anything they had in the past when the artificial sun existed. Anne Seeing would now become the sun itself, brightening the whole land of Amberground as well as bringing peace and happiness to the formerly dark and corrupted land.
Sorry if the ending kinda sucked, I lost the idea to write the plot for this chapter... and lastly... thanks all for reading and especially the ones who took their time to review and add this story to favorites and stuff... It was really fun and challenging to write this story and it has finally come to an end. There are no plans for a sequel yet, but feel free if you want to write one! (Let me know first!)
Anyways, thank you all readers for reading this story!
