Edward

Bella kept her promise and we went round about the little town known as Forks.

"There's really not that much to see. We'll that old building there, that's the high school I went to. And here we come to the sports store that one of my old mate's dad owned. Well he might still owned, I don't know. I used to work there part-time", Bella narrated as we drove through the dark green majestic woods. For some reason it wasn't raining that day unlike usual. That's why Bella decided it would be a good time to take a trip to La Push. Now that it isn't too windy or rainy it might be nice around the sea.

Some old rock and blues songs were played by the local radio as we drove there. It was really pleasant and for once the anxious thoughts didn't bother me as much. I let Bella's babbling fill my head with fuzziness and simply enjoyed the scenery that was covered in moss. Anxiety had laid a heavy rock in my stomach, but I did my best not to focus on that.

Soon enough we were there. A long beach stood in front of us. It wasn't a fine sand kind of beach, it was sturdy one, something you would image finding here up in the North. The sea was dark green and huge waves crashed to the shore every few seconds. Tall cliffs of almost black stone with many pine trees growing on top filled the rest of the sight was spectacular, I had to say although it seemed rather cold and dark.

"It's beautiful", I said nonetheless as we hopped out of the car. "Yeah, it is. Especially now that a little sunshine is available. But it doesn't feel that nice when it's chilly and raining. Anyhow, why don't we go to the shore, walk around a bit. There are little ponds over there where the water is trapped in the whole in the rock. Some little sea creatures might be there too then. I once spied a little, skinny starfish", Bella said as she lead me around the beach.

It was slightly windy, but my trusty woolen jacket kept me as warm as it could. There was washed out white pieces of tree trunks littered around. Maybe we could build a little fire at some point.

When we got to the ponds, I knelt by the slippery edge to look closer. "Watch out or you're going to fall face first into them", Bella said. I chuckled. "Well, maybe I need a bit of freshening up", I remarked back. I saw a small crab walking around at the end the pond and pointed at it for Bella. "Look, is that really a crab?" I asked and she looked closer, her hands tucked inside her pockets.

"Yeah, hey, I think it is. I told you. They get trapped in them with the water, but once it really gets stormy, they eventually get back into the ocean", she said and I stood back up. "Should get pick the crab up and take it there now? Help the little guy out", I suggested looking at her. "Euh, no way! I'm not touching a crab", she laughed and tugged on my sleeve to get us away from the ponds. I took her hand as we carefully made our way back down to the beach.

"Hey, get some of those trunks. It's getting a little cold. I've got matches with me, we'll make a fire", Bella decided. We started doing just that and soon we were warming up beside a nice fire. The flames licked the wood almost in blue colours which I wondered about.

"The salt in the wood makes that happen. Good old sodium chloride", Bella explained as she leaned against my side as we sat on one of the bigger trunks.

Suddenly in the corner of my eye I saw a tall, dark figure emerge from the woods. "Bella", I mumbled as I saw the figure moving towards us. She turned her head around looked over to the woods as well.

"Wait a moment...", she muttered with a frown. But then it completely cleared off of her face as the figure came into light. "Jacob!" she yelled and waved her hand at the burly man that strode over to us. His skin was russet brown and his black hair was short though had bit of longer hairs pointing in every direction. But it still seemed more tamed than mine.

I wondered how she knew him. Must be one of the locals. He beamed at her with pearly white teeth and dark eyes glimmering in the light of the fire. "Oh hey, Bella! What are you doing here?" he greeted her as she stood up to hug him. She only reached his shoulders in length, but didn't look intimidated in the slightest. I had to admit that I was a bit, even though he looked like a very kind young man.

"It's been too long. Oh, and yes, this is Edward. He's my boyfriend. And Edward, this is a Jacob. A good old friend of mine back from when we were young", Bella introduced us. I smiled politely at him and shook his hand in a casual way. "It's nice to meet you Edward. So you two were enjoying the beautiful beach we have here?" he said as they both sat back down, Bella between us.

"Yeah. I'm visiting my dad for the weekend is just. How are things going back here in the reservation? You've finished your education or are you fixing cars?" Bella talked with him.

"Uh nothing much. I have finished my lousy education yes, but I've actually opened my own shop too. And you guessed it, it's all about motor vehicles and such. But I don't just do it in my old garage, I actually have the shop in town or whatever you can call that little center of our lives", he said with a laugh which we joined in. I felt slightly awkward around them now but I knew Bella must have really missed him so I let them enjoy their reunion full-heartedly. They talked for quite some time too, reminiscing old times but sometimes asking me a question or two.

Eventually though he said he had to leave and go see his own farther. He was getting old and needed some help from time to time. We said our goodbyes. Jacob promised to come and see Bella, well me too then, as Bella gave him our address.

We stayed by the fire a little longer, but as it began to get dark outside we decided to head back to Charlie's. We had a nice meal with him which through I struggled less than before as I actually started feeling a bit hungry from all the going about and I needed to eat something now that Charlie was there. We watched some football game with him before going to bed.

It was actually pleasant and very homey in Forks. I thought that I might like to stay there sometime a lot longer if I had the chance. If I didn't get put to jail that is. Anyhow, the next day we would already be leaving and then hopefully it would all be over.

I really don't get it why you call it sodium when it clearly says natrium. Well, have it your way.

Yeah, and long time no see.
