Chapter 25
Family is complicated
It was the weekend and everyone was really happy. Rachel was taking all the girls wedding dress shopping along with her sister Melissa and 5 year old niece Rosie, while Adam was going to watch the football with his brothers and Philip. All the girls were very excited especially Sophie as after lots of moaning and puppy dog eyes was allowed to get her ears pierced.
"Come on girls time to go" Rachel shouted upstairs to the three girls. Sophie came jumping downstairs followed by Lauren and Abbie.
"I'm soooo excited mum" said Sophie jumping up and down.
Rachel looked at her youngest daughter and smiled at how lively she was.
"Me too" Rachel said taking hold of her hand and leading her out to the car. Abbie and Lauren joined Sophie in the car whilst Rachel said goodbye to Adam.
"We'll be home for five" she said giving him a quick snog on the lips.
"Get a room you two" Lauren said out the car window.
"Oi don't be so cheeky" Adam said smiling. So with that everyone set off in they're separate cars.
When they arrived at the shops they met with Melissa and Rosie and set off. First they headed to claire's to get Sophie's ears pierced.
Sophie was excited but began to get a bit scared as they got closer to the shop. Rachel saw her tense up and knelt down to her level.
"You don't have to have it don if you don't want love" Rachel said to her.
"I do want it done I'm just scared it will hurt" Sophie replied timidly.
"You'll be fine and we'll all be there okay?" Rachel asked her smiling.
Sophie replied with the tiny nod of the head and they walked into the shop. Ten minutes later they came out Sophie with her ears done.
"Right we best get a move on" Rachel said and Rachel, Melissa and the girls set off.
After looking around quite a few shops everyone started to get tired and it looked as though there was no hope in finding a dress for Rachel. They had managed to get Melissa and the girl dresses but still not a dress for Rachel.
They were about to give up and leave when Rachel spotted the perfect dress in a shop window. She went in and checked for her size and there it was. Rachel went into the changing room and put the dress on and came out and showed everyone.
It was a long white silky dress which flowed on the ground at the back and had a frill around the neck. It was the perfect dress for Rachel.
"You look like a princess auntie Rachel" Rosie said.
"Thank you Rosie" Rachel replied with a smile.
"Its beautiful Rach" Melissa said.
"Yeah you have to get it" Abbie said.
"I think I might just do that" Rachel answered going back into the changing room to get changed.
Rachel paid for the dress and said goodbye to Melissa and Rosie and her and the girls headed home.
