Mei grinned as he looked around the room. A few teams had made arrangements to get together and have a small party of sorts, now that the tournament was over. Everyone was in casual clothing and talking, laughing or arguing with each other.
Mei had been given strict orders to behave, and had been doing a fairly good job so far. He'd only pissed off about two people. For him, that was amazing. Just as he was about to go find another victim, he spotted someone standing in a corner.
They were small and easy to miss, leaning against the wall and sipping juice as they watched the rest of the people with a smile. Grinning, Mei slid closer to get a better look at his target. They couldn't be much taller than five foot, slender and no real muscle showing. They had pink hair down to their chin, their bangs covering their eyes and making it a little difficult to know what they were thinking.
'Must be a manager,' He thought. 'She's kinda cute.' Raking his eyes over her body, he noticed that she was dressed like a majority of the others; shorts and a tee-shirt. 'A little flat, but still cute.'
Nodding to himself, he walked closer until he was leaning on the wall next to her. "What are you doing over here all by yourself?" He asked, causing her to jump a little. She flushed and Mei smiled. 'So cute.' "Party not to your liking?"
"It's fine," She said softly, ducking her head. Mei frowned. She was obviously nervous, which was strange. Normally girls were falling all over him, and if she was a manager then he was positive she'd have heard of him before. Everybody had.
"What school are you from?" Mei asked. He wasn't used to such shyness, but on her, he found it absolutely adorable.
"Seidou," She said, looking back at the crowd as though trying to find somebody.
"Seidou huh? They sure are lucky to have a cute manager like you." Mei backed up a little when she suddenly started choking on her drink, doubling over and coughing harshly. A few of the closer players turned to see what the ruckus was about.
"Are you alright?" Raichi asked, patting the pink haired girl roughly on the back.
"F-fine," She said, taking deep breaths and standing up. Her face was completely red as she attempted to sink into the corner. She brought her drink up and tried to take a sip, only to find that it was empty.
"I'll go get you some more," Mei offered, taking her glass. He ignored her protests and went back to the juice bowl and filled the empty glass. When he returned, he frowned. Raichi was talking animatedly to the small girl who was smiling a little at whatever he was saying. Marching up to them, he 'accidently' bumped into Raichi, causing him to smack into the wall. "Here you go," He smiled, handing the girl her glass back.
Smiling a little shyly, the girl thanked him and took a sip. "What the hell was that for?!" Raichi demanded, putting a hand roughly on Mei's shoulder.
Frowning, the blond smacked the hand away. "Don't touch me."
"What's your problem?!"
"You are."
"What the hell did I do?!"
"A-ano," The pink haired girls' voice cut in. She shrank back a little when they both turned to her. "P-Please don't fight. You're making a scene." Mei and Raichi glared at each other before huffing and turning away.
"I never got your name," Mei said, turning back to the girl with a charming smile. "I'm Narumiya Mei, a second year and ace of Inashiro."
"And I'm Todoroki Raichi," Said boy cut in, "First year and ace of Yakushi."
"Hmph," Mei smirked, "I'm the pitcher."
"Well I'm the cleanup."
"Then why don't you cleanup this mess?" Mei smirked, dumping his remaining punch on the slightly younger teen.
"Bastard!" Raichi yelled, lunging for the pitcher. Their fight drew everyone's attention, and their respective 'handlers' pulled them apart before scolding them.
Mei tuned out the lecture and nodded to whatever his senpai was saying before turning back to the pink haired girl. "So w-"He cut himself off when he noticed she was gone. Frowning, he scanned the room, attempting to locate her again.
He grinned when he spotted a flash of pink and weaved his way through the other players. Reaching out, he grabbed her shoulder and spun her around. "Who are you?" Mei asked, seeing not the cute girl from earlier but a short, pink haired male.
"Kominato Ryousuke," He said, raising an eyebrow.
Mei frowned and stood on his toes, scanning the crowd again before turning back to the pink haired male. "Do you have a sister?" He asked bluntly. "I was talking to her earlier but she disappeared." Mei ignored the sudden laughter from the other Seidou regulars who were standing nearby.
Ryousuke smiled and chuckled a little. "No, I don't have a sister."
"Weird, 'cause you two look alike. And you both have pink hair." He shook his head and went back into the crowd, calling over his shoulder, "Let me know if you see her! I never got her name!"
Kuramochi was doubled over laughing, clutching his stomach and struggling to breath. Haruichi was completely red as he stepped out from where he'd been hiding behind Jun and Tetsu. He opened his mouth to say something when a hand landed on his shoulder.
"Found you!" Raichi called, smiling widely. "Do you know how hard you are to find with all these people around? Anyway, I never got your name."
Haruichi flushed even darker as not only his brother, but his captain started laughing a little. He looked to Jun for help, as the center fielder was the only one not laughing, but deflated when he saw the amused smile he had on. He turned back to Raichi, only to flinch when he saw the expectant face.
"K-Komi…nato," Haruichi mumbled, looking away and turning an impossible shade of red, "Haru…ichi."
"Haru-chan then!" Raichi said happily. It didn't seem possible for anyone to turn as red as Haruichi did after he heard that. The other Seidou regulars could swear they saw steam coming off him. Raichi turned to the other regulars and said, "You're lucky to have a cute manager like Haru-chan. I wish our team had someone like that. I know! Haru-chan, why don't you transfer to my school and become our manager instead!"
Haruichi looked ready to sink into the ground. 'How could this possibly be any more embarrassing,' He thought. Not even a second later, Mei's hand landed on Haruichi's free shoulder. "Here you are!" He said, turning Haruichi so they were facing each other. "You suddenly disappeared."
"Let go of Haru-chan!" Raichi said, tugging Haruichi closer. "She's going to be the manager for my team!"
"Ha!" Mei laughed, "As if! She'd be better off coming to my school and being my personal manager!"
'Kill me now,' Haruichi thought as he was pulled back and forth between the two. Kuramochi was nearly dying on the ground, Miyuki joining him when he learned of the situation. The near hysterical laughter combined with the shouts of "Mine" or "In your dreams" drew the attention of everyone in the room once more.
Eijun frowned when he saw his friend in the middle of two of his rivals and marched over, dragging Haruichi from their grasps. "Harucchi's ours!" He shouted, indicating the Seidou team. Furuya joined him and put a hand on Haruichi's head, glaring at the two.
"She's too good for any of you!" Mei shouted back, grabbing Haruichi's left arm and pulling. Raichi glared at Mei and grabbed Haruichi's right arm.
Ryousuke sighed. Haruichi looked about ready to pass out, and that couldn't be a healthy shade of red. Stepping up, he smacked all four of the trouble makers on the head and pulled Haruichi behind him. "First of all," He said, ignoring their shouting, "Haruichi is a boy. Second of all, he doesn't belong to any of you." His smile grew wider and he opened his eyes slightly, causing a majority of the players in the area to take a few steps back. "He belongs to me."
"And they," Tetsu said, going to stand next to Ryousuke, "Belong to Seidou."
"So keep your fucking hands," Jun growled, crossing his arms and glaring down at the two, "Off our member."
Mei frowned, not liking the situation but knowing if he pushed it then he'd be in serious trouble. He was about to walk off when Raichi suddenly pointed. "That's," He started, staring hard at Haruichi, "A boy?" Nearly everyone's jaws it the ground. That's what he was stuck on?!
Haruichi let his head hit Ryousuke's back with a light thump. He was done. He just wanted to crawl into a hole and die. It wasn't fair. He didn't ask to look like this. And to make it worse, even though he had muscle, it wasn't defined like his older brothers'.
"Can I go home now?" Haruichi muttered. "I didn't want to come in the first place."
Tried something new. Thanks a bunch to Maiden Warrior for your ideas ;P
Also! Maiden Warrior gave me a suggestion about a play for the first years, but what play should I do? Once I get a few suggestions, I'll put up a poll and see what everyone wants.
Last thing before I leave you all for an indefinite about of time. I need ideas for my story Regression. I am not around children that young, and I have nothing to go off of besides my imagination, which is used to writing older children (ages 5-10) rather than age three. If any of you have a funny story or something cute or ANYTHING! Please either put it in a review or PM me and i'll see about adding it in.
Ok, I lied, THIS will be the last thing. I'm thinking about ending this story once I hit 50 chapters. I'm already half way there, and I like the idea of ending it at 50, but let me know what you all think, since I'm writing for you. I live off your reviews, they're what help me get through my somewhat shitty days and make my good days that much better! See you whenever I actually finish another chapter! (Seriously, I've started about 20 others you have not seen and can't find the motivation to finish them. Even if I did, they're just kind of...ugh...so I probably won't post them)
Don't forget to review! (The multiple line breaks are because my enter key isn't working)
