Epilogue:
The next morning, when Maria woke up, Altaïr was beside her, sleeping calmly, with a happy expression. She smiled. She couldn't remember when she felt this happy, if ever...
With Peter? Definitely no...
With Robert? Maybe at first, but in the end, she didn't think so… he had teached everything she knew about sex, but soon he went way to the crusades with King Richard and she was left behind in Acre…
Imagine her surprise when Robert called her again, this time to go to Jerusalem and poses as he to fool the Assassin behind him… and as a good and obedient sheep she went…
ABut al of this changed… with Altaïr.
The Assassin thought she was Robert and stabbed her in her left shoulder… she had fooled him and thought he would kill her for this, but to her surprise the Assassin let her live…
She knew he had killed Robert before she heard the news… she seemed sad, but no… she felt more sad because what she had conquered and lost than Robert's death…
Now Maria looked back at the man who slept next to her… now this was real love…
Life is funny sometimes... she thought.
If someone said to her that one day she would divide the bed with the Assassin, who had killed Robert, enemy of the Templars and had spoiled her life, he or she would be dead by now…but who knew... Altaïr is the most important person in her life now...
She didn't know what the future had reserved for them, only that she wanted to pass the rest of her life with this man… Maria smiled as she laid her head on Altaïr chest again...

During the day, Maria observed Raouf in the front courtyard with his students. She wanted to train a little... she had to pick up a sword and feel her weight before she was rust.
Approaching the training ring, she stopped beside Raouf who had left the ring to give some space for two novices, who had wood swords.
He looked at her, watching how she observed the fight.
"Altaïr said to me that you are very good with swords..." He said.
Maria was surprised with the lack of animosity in his voice.
"Yeah, I am..." She said awkwardly.
"Do you want to try?" Asked Raouf.
"I don't want to disturb your class..." Said Maria.
"You won't disturb, but will help!" Said Raouf.
Maria saw him walk to where the swords where being kept, choose one for her and get back.
"Here..." Raouf said, giving the sword to her.
Maria picked it up, but didn't say anything. She just watched Raouf order the novices left the ring. After, gave a sign for her to enter.
"Who is going to be my opponent?" Asked Maria, already in the middle of the ring.
Raouf just pointed.
"He is!"
Maria looked behind herself and smiled when she saw Altaïr approach her, with his preferred sword, which looked like an eagle.
"Don't think because we're together I will make this fight easier..." he said, wearing his traditional mantle.
"I don't expect it..." She said.
Altaïr put his hood on and walked to the center of the ring, nodding to her as he was ready to start the fight. Raouf just watched and soon Bachir, Barir and Kazim joined him. They became surprised when Maria diverted and attacked, making Altaïr jump backwards.
Soon, Malik joined them... the one arm man became happy when he saw Maria and Altaïr fighting in a demonstration, happy with one another...
"He made the right decision..." said Kazim, about Altaïr's decision.
Everyone nodded.
"That's why he is what he is..." said Malik.
Altaïr lost his balance and fell on the ground and Maria climbed on top of him.
"I won…" she said as Altaïr just smiled…
