~Chapter 24: Can't Give Up Now~
Krystal
I stepped to the right to dodge a sharp kick from the evil king himself. Zemont followed up with a right hook slightly catching my jaw in the process. I stop on the ground as I backup and large piece of stone rises up in front of me.
Alexander falls from my hands on accident when I feel as if I'm going to throw up out of nowhere. Unfortunately, that distraction cost me. I was thrown off of the ledge, but before of the reach the bottom of the two hundred foot drop, I'm able to pull off a back flip and stand in midair. My gaze sweeps across the battle ground, it's full of corpses that slowly dissolve into ash and pretty much everything is covered in crimson pools of scarlet. I can see my team in the midst of finishing off the few dozen that are left. A good thirty minutes have passed at least.
Suddenly, King Rey's was above me with a smirk plastered on his face and suddenly felt bile raise to the back of my throat. "Not feeling well?" He said as he circled around me still in midair. I almost forgot that he can float too. Does he have power over the wind element? I powered up a fire blast and threw it at him and we engage in another heated battle.
"Miss Krystal, you don't look so good…"
"I'm alright-"I reply to Alexander but I'm floored head first into the ground. I quickly get back to my feet spitting out some dirt. Eww. Again I everything goes silent. Ba-bump! There's a stinging sensation in my chest. Alexander appears in my hands just as Zemont joins the battle.
I swing in all kinds of directions in order to block my opponents' attacks. My scythe flow effortlessly through my fingers as I hack, slash leaving deep gashes in both of them. They stagger backwards and glance at each other. Suddenly, King Rey's zoomed to the ground and stuck his sword below the soil. Out popped several black chains that are speeding toward me. I manage to cut two and disable them but accidental left my back exposed
"Ahh!" I scream as Zemont pierces my side with something sharp. His foot sends me flying toward the ground as more chains wrap themselves around my limbs. My body bounces off the hard earth and then as if the air around me didn't exist, I couldn't breathe for a few seconds. Afterwards I was sprawled out on the ground, possibly bleeding to death. And then I was hoisted up by my neck and my wounds felt as if they were on fire. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from yelling out. My hardened gaze remained on the enemy in front of me. I didn't even have time to struggle as King Reys began to beat the crap out of me. My body seemed to be out of my control and felt numb.
Ba-bump!
My eyes widen as a punch connects with the side of my face. My chest feels like it's on fire and I black out.
Ba-bump!
King Reys
Damn girl, should've been unconscious a long time ago. I think as I look at the extensive damage on her body. She's certainly one hell of bloody prize package. I release my hold on her neck and toss her to the ground. She lies on her back with her head turned to the side. Some of her bloodied hair covers her face.
A bullet is fired, nearly hitting the middle of my chest if I hadn't been so quick to move. It pierced my shoulder leaving a bit of smoke from impact. I hiss. But quickly return to the girl to get her in my grasp before he can make another move. My hands around her neck once more and then all eyes are on me. Zemont stands silently to my right.
"Mommy!" I hear a little girl yell. She's angry even though tears fall from her eyes. The brat stands behind Ichiru, her fangs bared. Zero is on her left, his gun trained right in the middle of my forehead from a distance with fury in his eyes. Everyone else surrounds us but they are smart, knowing I'll hurt her even more if they move an inch. My army is no more.
The entire group has the wounds of a war, but not as bad as their so called Goddess. "Ah, I see it has come down to this…" I slightly relaxed to sustain a bit of energy, but kept guard.
"Just let her go—" A Knight voiced in concern.
"I should, shouldn't I?" I mused. "I'd rather send her straight to hell." Zemont points a dagger to her throat. Everyone tenses.
"Oh don't worry, she'll be dead soon enough." Zemont adds. "The poison circulating her system is killing her. So either way she'll die." A crooked smile makes way on his face.
"You bastard!" Zero death glares at the both of us. I laugh and then my hands are electrified and feel as if they are going to burn off. I throw the girl to the ground; her neck is only scraped by Zemont's dagger before she lands first face still bound by my chains. My hands have burnt marks and smoke coming from them. What the fu— My eyes widen…the chains..
Zemont has his foot on her head, threatening to crush it. Krystal heaves a dry cough indicating that she is waking up. Zemont applies pressure and her eyes open. The chains are glowing red and began melting off her body. But she shouldn't be able to melt them! That magic is as dark as my soul.
"Awake girl, look around you. Your friends see the pathetic state you're in. What will you do if they all died in the next sec—"Zemont boasts loudly but is cut off by Krystal's laugh. Its a teasing one.
All of a sudden a bolt of lightning rains down from the clear blue sky. The air has turned muggy and the bolt strikes her before my colleague can smash her skull in. A golden ray of light blinds us all and seconds pass. An agonizing scream rang out loud and clear. I opened my eyes to see Zemont laid down face first in the dirt. His torso soaked in his own blood. I don't even know if he was breathing. Sweat rolled down my face as I stared wide eyed at the young girl before me.
Everyone including myself gasped. The chains were gone, but in their place remained lacerations and deep gashes. From head to toe, she is drenched in blood, only parts of her clothes visible but those have many tears on them. But standing confidently although her breathing is ragged and she puts more weight on one foot than the other. This must be her last stand.
In her right hand is her weapon, and as she walks toward me with her head held high, I suddenly feel nervous. Oh shit. "I told.. you didn't I?" She says between breathes, now in my face. I stand my ground. "This is between you and I." I quickly pull my arm back to punch her in the stomach but she grabs my fist and I swear I hear it crack. I wince and pull back cradling it with the other hand.
A high kick sends me to upwards so fast, the next thing I know, I'm caught in a tornado and almost get ripped to pieces. I escaped with only my pants in tact, the remains of the top armor are gone. Damn. and went in for another attack. We are both in midair, the spectators below watching. We exchange punches and send kicks. My arm wrapped around her neck and I place a hand on her back. "Die!" Several swords pierce her torso and stomach, she screams and they evaporate, then I kick her straight into the ground for good measure. She makes a large crater and dust rises like a think patch of fog. From below, I can hear her friends' cries of horror.
I touch down and I'm suddenly impaled with thin sharp spear like pillars of Earth. Pain racks my body hard and blood spills. I ripped the objects out and crush them with my hands. The bitch was waiting on me!
Anger swelled within me, I was furious! I will end this pathetic girls life here and now!
