I usually prefer having a stretch of time before an epilogue when it contains a time jump but I honestly didn't mean for it to be this long, I'm so sorry. I'd already had this half done when I put the previous chapter up and then I did finish it but I didn't like it so I deleted all that and that took me back to being half-finished. Where, with writer's block and daily busyness, I stayed.

However, today I was in the mood to finish and you're looking at the product of it!

I'd just like to take a quick minute to thank everyone who has reviewed and encouraged me to continue – I've had some of the best reviews here than I've had on any of my stories, ones that made me laugh and blush and love y'all tons. This story was only supposed to be a Tumblr story. Then it was only supposed to be One Night. And now, here we are, at 45 000 words. So thank you all, seriously.

Also I have to extend a huge giant shoutout to Echo (willowolven) who made me the most amazing trailer for this story, I am still swooning like a giant idiot because I'm not over it. It's so sexy and pretty much better than this entire story so I'd definitely suggest checking it out, it will be tagged One More Night on my tumblr, mrslackles, or you can find it on my tag. Echo, this one is dedicated to you, thank you so much again!

Hope you guys enjoy this ending :)

Epilogue

"And that's the end," Klaus shrugged.

Caroline smiled up at him then at the couple opposite them. "Of the beginning," she added.

"What a story," Kol mused, looking impressed. "Perhaps I wouldn't have teased you as much if I'd known, brother."

"Yes you would've," Bonnie pointed out, and all four laughed.

"Well, did it serve as inspiration, darling?" he asked, affectionately looking down at the witch snuggled against him.

"I think I could write an entire album out of that," she nodded thoughtfully.

"You could call it Persistent Hybrid," Caroline teased, to which Klaus growled beneath his breath and she broke out into giggles. "You're going on tour next week, right?"

Bonnie nodded. "It's not a big deal though. Just a few states."

Kol rolled his eyes. "It's a very big deal. She's been working incredibly hard."

Bonnie blushed a little then shook her head. "Don't mistake that tone for pride. He's just thinking about how much he enjoys watching rehearsal."

Kol grinned. "If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: watching you move your body never becomes tiresome."

Happily threading her arm beneath Klaus', Caroline smiled proudly from her spot atop the Original's shoulder.

God knows it hadn't been easy and there had been some seriously steep potholes on the way, but with her help (and a little of Klaus' unenthusiastic aid) Bonnie and Kol were now the cutest couple, and the annual trip the two couples took up to the cabin had become a time of year they all looked forward to, even if the men only reluctantly admitted it.

"Speaking about the tour, I want ice cream while I can still not feel guilty about having it."

"Bonnie, you look amazing," Caroline responded honestly.

"Thank you," she smiled happily, and Kol looked proud again.

"Pints upon pints in the freezer, darling, what are you in the mood for?"

Bonnie pulled a face. "The Chestnut Praline they sell down at the specialty store?"

Kol chuckled and stood. "I suppose we're going to the store, then."

Bonnie stood too and pulled an overly theatrical pose. "I'm so lucky to have you," she teased, drama dripping from her voice.

He rolled his eyes. "You're lucky I'm rather fond of you."

She laughed.

"I'm going to get a coat."

Kol turned to Klaus and Caroline.

"Anything you two are in the mood for?"

Klaus waved his hand but a slow grin started on Caroline's face.

"Choc-PB Crunch?" she asked sweetly.

Kol grinned. "Anything for you, Caro-mallow."

Caroline smiled. The nickname had come about when they'd seen an ice cream flavour called Caramallow – caramel and marshmallow – and Kol had laughed his head off about how much it sounded like her name then cracked a joke about comparisons between her and marshmallows which had earned him a bone-cracking punch from the blonde and a lecture from Klaus which had included the word 'dagger' about fourteen times.

Then, because he was Kol he'd apologised profusely, two seconds before good-naturedly calling her Caro-mallow – and it had stuck.

"Ready!" Bonnie called out from the foyer.

"Alright, we're off. Be good," Kol winked, indicating exactly what he meant.

Caroline and Klaus both rolled their eyes as they watched his younger brother go. Then Caroline turned back to the Original with a grin.

"We should totally not be good."

Klaus chuckled as she slowly slid her hand down onto his lap.

"They won't be gone for long, love."

She rolled her eyes. "Knowing Kol they'll probably get… distracted in the bread aisle."

Klaus pulled a face. "The bread aisle?"

She giggled and when he seemed about to say something she pulled him into a deep kiss instead.

Within seconds he was nipping at her lips, his hand threading through her hair, and she was more than ready for him.

Quickly she shucked her jacket then began undoing the buttons on her shirt. Klaus moaned into her mouth then pulled away to lay kisses in her neck. She sighed as her eyes fluttered closed and he took over undoing her buttons then gently pulled her shirt away before continuing his kisses down onto her chest.

His lips were warmer than even the heat emitting from the fireplace and Caroline let herself fall backwards on the sofa, pulling her hybrid with her.

His hands went to her back, popping the clips on her bra. When it had joined her shirt on the floor his hands moved further downward as he sucked a breast into his mouth and Caroline's back arched as she moaned lowly.

He undid the zipper on her shorts and a second later they were on the floor too, joined quickly by her underwear.

She whined the loss when he pulled away from her entirely, but opened her eyes to watch appreciatively as he undressed before her.

She never got tired of the amazing lines of his body or the lean rippling muscles or the fact that it was all hers.

In record time he was between her legs and her eyes shut again for a quick second as she felt him against her, hard and as ready for her as she was for him.

Possessively she pinioned him against her with her thighs and Klaus smirked. Her shyness about how much she wanted him had vanished within the first few months of their relationship and he loved how direct she'd become about her needs. Although it still caused a hitch in his ego, which predictably earned a roll of the eyes from her.

She did so now before smiling and pulling him to her, her hands in his hair.

His own hands moved from her hips up to her sides, thumbing gently over her ribs before possessively moving to her breasts.

"Thought we didn't h-have much time," she gasped as he teased her nipples, making them pucker as her eyes fluttered closed.

She felt his smirk against her chest.

"I thought you said something about bread."

She giggled a little, breathlessly, before opening her eyes and regarding him with a disapproving glance.

"Shut up, Mikaelson, and get inside me already."

A tiny growl escaped his throat and he began kneading her breasts, a smirk appearing on his face as she moaned at the hot electricity passing between his palms and the erogenous zones.

Then he snuggled down into her neck and she thought it would be tender but he pulled his lips over the length of her collarbone before mercilessly biting down on it. She opened her mouth to scream but the sound disappeared in her throat as he entered her roughly.

"Oh my god," she groaned a second before he swallowed the rest of her moans, and she kissed him back passionately, raising her hips to meet his thrusts as he began to move inside her.

In seconds he was hitting all the right spots and Caroline opened her mouth around his lips to suck in as much air as possible, grasping a tight hold in his hair.

Klaus moved his kisses down into her neck as she panted, lowering his head until he was kissing and licking her breast and soon he was pulling her hard nipple onto his hot tongue, rolling it around and against his teeth, causing her to back jolt up.

He enjoyed the new position, laying a hand in the curve of her sharply arched back as his thrusts sped violently and she desperately called out his name on clipped breaths.

With one deep thrust and a thumb pressed hotly to her clit, Caroline came screaming, her body shaking as she held him to her, her nails scratching at his back. Klaus groaned and came right after her, plunging into her with shallowing thrusts as he moaned her name beneath his breath.

She pulled him into a kiss and their lips moved lazily as they came down from their highs, Caroline caressing his short scruff.

After a minute, without breaking the kiss, Klaus moved off her and she turned onto her side to deepen the kiss, settling her hand in his neck as Klaus nipped at her tongue and lips.

She hummed into the kiss appreciatively, thinking about how long she'd had this for and how she'd get to have it for the rest of forever. This pleasure and contentment that came with being satisfied and loved entirely would be hers for eternity.

Klaus pulled away and her eyes opened curiously.

She could spend the rest of that eternity enjoying his amazing lips and the taste of his tongue caressing hers as his warm body encircled hers, so she wasn't a fan of him ending their makeout session.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Me?" she asked in surprise, a brow raising.

His hand came up to her face and with forefinger and thumb he gently traced the line of her eyebrow.

He nodded. "You sighed."

She hadn't even realised she had but she bit on her lip, aware of the reason for it.

"I was just thinking about us and how we began."

He stared at her for a few seconds before leaning forward to lay a quick last kiss on her lips.

"I suppose that's to be expected considering we were just speaking of it."

"Yeah," she agreed, bringing her hand up to his to entwine them, "you telling them our story made me think a lot."

"About?"

She shrugged. It was everything and nothing at the same time.

It made her think about how much she loved him and how grateful she was for that choice she'd made all those years ago. It made her think about the first time he'd told her he loved her, under the Roman stars with her legs draped over his shoulders and a clipped daffodil in her hair, and how they'd never gone back. But it also made her think about something else…

"You left out a part of the story."

"Did I?" he asked teasingly. "The indecent parts, perhaps?"

She laughed. "No. I'm actually really glad you left those out – I'm sure I never would've heard the end of it from Kol otherwise."

"Ah well you're mistaken, sweetheart, I was simply waiting for you to interject with them."

She rolled her eyes. Yeah, right. In a million years would she describe her and Klaus' sexual exploits to his lewd younger brother, she could already imagine him taunting her ceaselessly just about all the kitchen counter stuff.

Or – wait, crap – make that fifty million years, or whatever time they couldn't actually reach.

"I mean my apology," she explained sheepishly.

Klaus sighed and moved forward again, brushing his nose along her jaw before replacing it with his lips.

"For how I treated you; taking so long to come around to the idea of us," she prodded.

Klaus made a small sound of annoyance and she frowned.

"I didn't bring it up because it's something I prefer to forget. You had no reason to apologise – I wanted you to be sure, not barrel into a decision like that. And, besides," he began, his hand slowly caressing her bare butt and making her shiver as he shifted to speak into her ear, "I rather enjoyed the chase."

She broke out into a smile in spite of herself.

"You were pretty good at it."

"I knew what I wanted."

Another shiver ran through her body and she thought about how amazing it was that this would never stop – yes, there were moments when they could snuggle up and rightfully behave like two people who had been together for a substantial amount of time, but more often it was still raw seduction between the two of them and she still marvelled at the hunger she had for him no matter how many times she'd had him.

Every night felt like just one more night.

"You know, telling that story reminded me of something too," he said pulling away, looking thoughtful.

"What?"

"You said I couldn't kill di Caprio till he won an Oscar."

A gasp left her lips as he stared back at her with false innocence.

"No."

He shrugged. "He has it now, love."

She glared. "Are you seriously holding a grudge against the poor guy because I said he's cuter than you?"

"I've actually held far greater revenge plots for far less, sweetheart," he smiled sweetly.

"Wow, why am I not surprised."

He chuckled and she continued glaring, frustrated.

"You can't kill him until I've directed him, Klaus!"

He groaned. "This is becoming ridiculous."

"You started off being ridiculous."

"You aren't helping your plea."

"You aren't getting any sex if I find a movie I wanna make that would be perfect for one of the world's best actors, and he's a pile of bones."

"Have you seen how old he's gotten?" he continued as if she'd said nothing.

Her glaring intensified and he grinned like he'd done absolutely nothing wrong which after a few minutes finally managed to win her over.

"Fine, yes, you're still cuter!"

She rolled her eyes at his triumphant smile then relaxed as he slowly began kissing his way down her chest, albeit whilst she muttered under her breath about the immaturity of thousand year old beings.

"So?" he looked up after a minute, from between her breasts.

Lazily she wound her fingers through his strawberry blond locks.

"So, what?"

"Did I deliver on my promise?"

It was a part Klaus hadn't entirely left out of the version of their love story he'd told Bonnie and Kol, but he had skipped and glossed over it – how raw and desperate those last moments had been for her as she'd hesitantly allowed herself to slip into his arms and be his no matter the crippling fear involved.

Promise me you won't break my heart.

Tugging on his hair a little, she brought him back up to her lips before speaking against them.

"Heart intact."

He smiled and nodded slowly.

"As it will always be, if it's up to me."

His eyes rose to hers and for a moment she saw something there that she hadn't for a very long time – insecurity. Not the playful Leonardo di Caprio stuff but real, true fear that maybe she would be the one to leave one day; maybe she would be the heartbreaker.

But she'd made her choice and it was one she hadn't regretted for even a second inn all these years.

"Which it will be."

His eyes lit up again and she broke into a sultry grin.

"So… infomercials?"

A slow smirk grew on his face as he caught her hint.

"Infomercials."

Her giggle was muffled against his lips as he kissed her heatedly, and she wrapped her legs around his waist again, absolutely lost in their security – in knowing every night was only the first of many.
