"It happens all the time."
"No, it does not."
Regina huffed, snatching the rooms keys from the annoyingly cheerful front desk assistant. She was beyond pissed, and the smile on the bubbly girls face, made her wish that it were acceptable to throw fire balls.
It was late. About an hour ago she could have easily called a cab and gotten herself out of the hell hole that she currently found herself in, but no. Snow had insisted that she stay for one more drink, and that's why she found herself stuck; in the middle of a ski lodge in Massachusetts, in the midst of the heaviest downfall of snow that Boston had seen in the last decade. 108 inches, it was reported on the TV screens as she passed them by.
Great.
Go on Regina! Have some fun with us Regina! A ski trip! It will be fun! Robin will be there.
That was the last thing she had wanted, after the fiasco that was Thanksgiving she had avoided the man avidly. She wasn't even entirely sure why she had gone with them in the end. She wasn't one to be pushed into doing anything, and especially not by the likes of the Charmings'. But, when her son Henry had come home, stating that she should go, and mentioning that the resort had one of the best spas this side of New York, she agreed. Now she was pissed. The resort had no spa. The term 'resort' was a grand over exaggeration, even for her highly imaginative son when it came to this dump.
She walked through the lobby of the lodge. It was so small, a quarter of the guest room in her mansion would be substantially bigger.
Passing by all of the happy couples and residents, that were currently huddled together in the small foyer, bundled under ski coats and mittens, she felt her bad mood reaching boiling point. She rounded the corner spotting a drunken set of Storybrooke citizens, led by a smiling Mary Margret, a knackered Charming, the perpetual drunk Pirate, tipsy Savior, and a irritatingly beaming Robin.
Looking down, she remembered what had garnered her foul mood. She only held 3 keys in her hands. Someone was sharing.
She growled.

"You want me to do what?"
"Come on, it will be fun!" Henry prodded his newest babysitter, Queen Elsa of Arendelle. He wasn't particularly sure why his two mothers still insisted that he needed one - he was 12. They had said it was something to do with him having a knack for getting lost or abducted, whenever they weren't around, and he had rolled his eyes at them. He had suggested his babysitter be Sven, but they had vetoed that idea. Rude.
However, the Ice Queen seemed to be doing a fine job. Her nervousness about not knowing the ways of this land seemed to be appeased when he had suggested she use her magic to make frozen hot chocolates, and Roland had requested ice cream sundaes. The small boy had been dropped off earlier that morning, at the Mills Manor so that he could have a friend to play with while his father went with the rest of the Storybrooke adults on their ski trip.
They had had a blast.
Now, however, Henry was once again on the precipice of becoming bored, until a grand idea hit him. A snow storm!
"Just a small one! Please Elsa! I haven't had a snow day in forever... We could build a snowman!" He threw the last part in there with a slight lilt to his voice. For the son of two powerful women - and a grandfather with a knack for deal making - everyone seemed to doubt his cunning ability to work people. He knew snowmen were the Ice Queens' soft spot - he had watched the movie of course!
"Snow!" Roland chimed in.
At the look of wide eyes and pouted lips the Ice Queen's resolve seemed to melt away.
"Well, I suppose a little snow wouldn't hurt."

The keys had been snatched from her in such a flurry that she hadn't even had the chance to suggest that the Savior and herself share a room, leaving the Pirate and the Thief with the third. But that didn't appear to be the case.
"Well I guess this is goodnight!" A slurring Mary Margret said as she backed herself and Charming into their room, "Sleep tight you two!" She pointed to Emma and Hook who had also taken to their assigned spot beside their room.
Regina thought she was going to be sick, but then Mary Margret turned towards her and whispered about as quiet as a lawn mower in the early hours of the morning, "And you, remember that these walls aren't that thick, that we do all have to be up early tomorrow -" She paused, her eyes flickering once over Regina and then back to Robin behind her, as if to emphasize her point. "So, do please try to be quiet, and get some 'sleep' at some point!"
With that Mary Margret winked suggestively, disappearing behind her door.
Regina wanted to die.
She cursed this damn snow storm. It was bad enough that she had been tricked into going to Boston with the Charmings, and had to spend the whole day skiing with them, with Snow breathing down her neck the whole time about Robin. But now, now she was trapped without any possibility of escape, because of this God forsaken snow storm; and, even worse, she was being forced to share a room with the man that she had been avoiding ever since they had shared a heated make-out session atop of the counter in the Charming's home!
She didn't know what it was exactly that irked her so much about him. He wasn't particularly bad to look at. His accent sent shivers through her, more than she'd care to admit. But it was his eyes. They were different. It wasn't their exceptionally clear shade of blue that made them so. It was when he looked at her, they seemed to stare right through her. It was as if he wasn't just looking, like everyone else did, he was seeing - sometimes right through her, into her very soul. And that scared her. That was what made her dislike him so.
And the fact that he seemed to be able to get under her skin like no other ever had.
She had left herself wide open. He had been leaving, threatening to go back into the dining room, after they had been broken apart in the midst of their hot kisses, with lipstick still on his face; she had stopped him, grabbing him and spinning him around to wipe the lipstick off. When she had however, he took advantage of her hospitality, sucking her finger into his mouth, sending ripples of heat through her and therefore stunning her into speechlessness. He had smirked knowing quite clearly the effect that he was having on her, and she had yelled at him, stating that 'this wasn't over' - whatever this was?
He had flaunted that kiss for the next two weeks straight.
Each time that she saw him, it didn't matter if it was at a council meeting, or a brief glance while passing each other by on the street. Every time, he would catch her eye, holding her gaze, longer than necessary, his eyes swimming with the memory of their kiss, and then he'd wink. He'd actually wink!
Just when she had thought that his taunting couldn't get any worse, he had gone and pushed her to the limit.
It was a blustery night, she had been baking. Making her signature sugar cookies for the Charmings' first Christmas party with the family. Roland and Henry had been helping her.
Ever since Thanksgiving, the two boys had been spending incredible amounts of time together; so when six o'clock hit, she knew she needed to hide. That was the time when he usually dropped by to pick up Roland. However, that night, she had been so consumed with her task of beating the egg's together and melting the butter, that she had forgotten to watch the time.
Promptly, as the small hand hit the '6', there came a soft knock at the door. Since the two boys at the end of her table were more consumed with devouring the cookie dough and making a mess, then cooking it, she had sent them off to get it. Picking up the pan of freshly made cookie dough and sliding it into the oven, she was concentrated more on not burning herself and less about who it could be at that hour.
When she turned back however her mind came back to her.
There he was, standing at the end of her kitchen counter in all his glory. His eye's surveying the swirling mess of sugar and powder on the table top.
When his gaze came back up however, he quickly scanned over her body, piercing blue lingering on some point around her midsection, making Regina flush with heat.
Regina watched, stunned silent as a smirk formed on his face. His eye's then shot up, connecting with hers, and without any warning to her, his fingers shot down, finding the bowl the boys had been using. In seconds he had his hand in the bowl, pointer finger swirling round in the batter. Regina watched as he brought said finger up to his mouth, bringing it to his lips and sampling a generous amount.
His eye's were connected to hers to whole time. Their light blue, darkening until they were the color of the night sky and she would have sworn she heard thunder crackle when he pulled his fingers in and out of his mouth seductively before releasing them with a loud 'pop'.
By the end of the first week Regina had wanted to smack him so hard she was actually worried she might break her hand.
Therefore, much to his - and apparently everyone elses! - dismay, there was no way the Thief and her were going to be sharing anything except a room that night.
When he cleared his throat, she jumped.
"Um, are you going to go in, or are we going to be sleeping in the hallway tonight?" Robin asked. He had moved closer, behind her, his slightly raspy drunk voice sent shivers through her spine.
Regina moved to their door.
They might have been forced by the snow storm to share a room, she thought, but that was it. They wouldn't be sleeping together! Well, not really...
xxx
"How far do you think that went?!" Henry yelled.
His newest, and now most favorite babysitter looked down at her hands in shock.
"I... I don't know." She said, shaking her head. She had gone outside with the two small boys who had been pestering her for a bit of snow fall, and had proceeded to cast her magic when, suddenly, it had burst out, from within her! Frost and snow spinning out of control!
On the corner of Mifflin street, where the threesome stood, every sign, light and lamp post boasted a beautiful frosty display of icicles hanging off of the edges. They looked like they had jumped right smack dab into the middle of a winter wonderland postcard!
Everything as far as the eye could see was drowned in white. Home's were covered and cars, were buried deep in the frozen white powder. The Ice Queen couldn't believe her eyes, she had meant to cast a small freezing spell, causing snow to fall only in the vicinity of the large backyard of Mills Manor; however, her powers seemed to have had another idea entirely, throwing the whole town, and who knows how far beyond, into a early Christmas wonderland!
It wasn't until she heard the whoops and shouts from the small boys that she turned around.
"THIS. IS. AWESOME!"
Henry bounded through the snowy hills, picking up balls of powder and throwing them in the air. "Come on Roland!"
The younger boy with curly hair turned, taking off running to catch up to the older boy, who was currently running around in circles.
Elsa laughed at the sheer joy written all over the two boys faces. They spun around in the middle of the street, rolling over and making snow angels where they fell. It only took a moment for them to invite her over to help build 'the biggest snowman ever!'
She smiled, what could possibly go wrong?
xxx
Everything was going wrong.
Regina had gone into the room first, leaving Robin to fend for himself out in the hallway. When she had thrown her bag onto the couch she had expected him to say something, like he always did, but he didn't. Instead he had walked past her in silence, making his way into the second room.
The one good thing about the whole fiasco was the size of their room. She had held onto the good keys when everyone had made a grab at those in her hand, ensuring that they got the suite, no matter what.
And they did. So now, instead of sharing one little dank, dingy room, they were sharing a slightly larger one with a living room and separate bathroom.
It still didn't solve the sleeping dilemma however.
She fluffed her hair, unconsciously. Rubbing her hands together to keep warm as she followed the man.
"So," he said when she entered the room. He was facing the large balcony windows, staring at the falling snow.
Her eyes, however, were drawn automatically to the large bed in the center of the room. A ripple tore through her as she realized that it was large enough to fit a small family, without becoming crowded, much less two relatively thin adults. It could surely fit both of them.
She gulped. Not wanting to prolong the awkward encounter any longer than necessary, she spoke.
"So..."
"Lovely night, isn't it?"
Regina nearly rolled her eyes. The man was incorrigible. From the glint in his eye when he turned back around she could tell that he knew what she was doing, and he was having none of it. He was going to let this night be as awkward as hell.
Regina moved, suddenly feeling uncomfortable under his gaze.
"Look, I'm going to go take a shower, before all of the hot water is sucked out of this place." Regina said, however at the little cough that came from the man she looked up and noticed Robin's eyebrows raising as she spoke. From the smirk on his face she realized that the words she used must have left him thinking of her naked, and wet under the beating stream. Her voice faltered momentarily; however, she continued, before her cheeks could turn pink, "I got us the bigger room so that we could have separate area's to sleep. I normally would take the bed, however I will give you that option in an exchange for you to keep silent."
The mans eyebrows remained up, however the glint that had been playful a moment before, became mischievous, dangerously so.
"It's not really giving if you're expecting to receive something back now is it?" He questioned.
This time Regina really did roll her eyes.
"It's your choice thief," she snapped, turning around. "When I get back, all I want is a place to sleep."

"What took you so long?" Henry asked as he watched his babysitter finally return from where she had disappeared to inside the house.
"I had to find the right one!" She replied.
Holding what looked like an extremely long carrot, the Ice Queen placed it on the face of the snowman that they had just built, right where a nose would have gone. "There!"
Roland giggled, clapping.
The snowman they had built was oddly proportioned. It's body was a bit wide and it's head a little long, but it was a snow man just the same.
"It's looks just like him." Elsa commented.
"Like who?" Henry and Roland both asked at once.
"My friend, Olaf." She stated.
Henry crinkled his brow, looking at his babysitter in confusion until Roland reminded him.
"Olaf!" The little boy exclaimed, "The snowman that came to life!"
"That's him!" The Ice Queen confirmed, nodding her head.
Henry nodded in understanding as an idea hit him and he nearly exploded with excitement, "Can you make this one come to life?!"
Roland nodded enthusiastically!
"I'm not so sure about that," the Queen stated, "The last time that happened it was by accident. I'm not really sure how I did it. He just kind of became real, like he was trying to burst out of their all along!"
Both boy's faces fell slightly, as they pouted their lips.
"Just try it once?" Henry asked with a 'PLEASE' coming from Roland.
"I'm not sure if that's such a good idea boys. You saw what happened last time I 'tried' using my magic!" Elsa said, gesturing to the frozen oasis that they were currently in.
"Oh come on, this is different." Henry said.
"Yeah!" Roland agreed.
"See?" Henry said, gesturing to the small boy that had crossed his arms in front of his body, making him look utterly cute as opposed to the demanding air he was trying to project.
Elsa sighed. How could she resist that? She stood up straighter, positioning her hands and pointing them at the snowman.

Regina turned the tap off slowly, letting the luke warm water cool down before she turned it off fully.
She realized that the man in the other room might want to use the shower to get warm after her, and, if she were nice; she would have kept her shower brief and short, using the minimum amount of still heated water, but she wasn't!
He could freeze for all she cared!
He had made what was an awkward situation worse with his constant drunken smiles and lingering gazes.
Regina rolled her eyes as she reached for a towel. Drying her hair first, she ran the towel over her body, dabbing at the rivulets running down her back.
What was it about him that got to her so? She thought.
The memory of the mans strong arms popped into her mind. Earlier that day she had been walking through the lodge, looking for the the resturant, because she was fucking freezing and in need of something warm to drink. She had turned down a corner and found herself in unfamiliar land. She opened the door to her left and found that she had accidentally entered the men's changing rooms instead. Luckily for her it appeared as if no one had been in there.
She turned, ready to exit when, to her horror, the door knob began to turn from the outside!
She lunged quickly behind the set of lockers to the left of the entrance, just as the door swung open and a man entered the changing room.
Holding her breath as to not tip off the incomer that she was there, she slowly peaked around the edge of the lockers when she heard the unknown mans feet move away from the door and into the room.
She could just make out the heavy snow gear and thick ski-coat that covered his back. From what she could see, he was a large man and slowly he was stripping off the layers of his clothing, one by one, snowflakes falling out of his light blonde hair, melting just before they hit the floor.
She felt odd watching a stranger from behind the lockers as he stripped, however she couldn't seem to pull her eyes away from him.
Every inch of tan skin that he uncovered seemed to glisten alluringly in the annoyingly bright fluorescent lighting. She was entranced. From the back, the stranger was very attractive. And really, what harm could looking do?
She found herself running her tongue along her lower lip, before biting it to hold back a appreciative groan, when he finally removed his snow coat. She could see the outline of his muscles under the thin layer of his thermal shirt, he was ripped.
When he finally managed to devest himself of the rest of the cumbersome outerwear however, she felt her breath catch in her throat.
Even turned away from her, in his half clothed state, she recognized him. She flushed when she realized who he was. She would recognize those arms anywhere.
Robin!
Regina gulped, her mouth dropping so far open she wouldn't be shocked if she caught a rather large number of flies.
Out all of the people who could have walked in, when she had mistakenly wound up in the men's changing room and it had to be him!
She wanted to hate him, to despise him for his deplorable timing, but she couldn't. The slight dampness between her legs and the heat that she felt slowly burining deep in her core contradicted her.
Even when she believed him to be a stranger she still found herself attracted to him!
She had known ever since the day that they had met, and he had cornered her in the cabin asking for a drink, that she had been heavily attracted to him.
However there had been a year between them, along with everyone else in Storybrooke, that they did not remember.
Something had stirred deep in the pit of her stomach when he had followed her into the cabin. Something was so familiar about him. And, even now, without him near her or touching her at all, she could still feel the pressure of his body pressed close to hers. The memory of his hands on her hips and his tongue between her teeth was taking over her mind.
She had felt instantly at ease conversing back and forth with him back in the cabin, which made her suspicious. There were very few people that she could hold a conversation with without wanting to burn them to a crisp, and none of them were strangers.
She came to the conclusion that they must have known each other at some point during the missing year. And, after replaying the brief moments of intimacy that they had shared in between their kisses in her mind, she was sure of it. However the question of how they had known each other - and how well? - she wasn't sure. But there was definitely something about him.
When he had cornered her in the Charming's kitchen, his muscular body pressed tightly against hers, she had felt her temperature rise, her heartbeat increasing dramatically.
There was something about his presence, that at the same time as it calmed her, he unnerved her. And apparently, he also aroused her.
She had been so close to locking her lips with his the first time they had met in that cabin; however, when he had pulled back and offered her the drink that he held in his outstretched hand she had seen his arm and she had frozen.
There, emblazoned on his wrist, was the symbol that she had spent years envisioning. Dreaming about at night, trying to remember every detail of the fated tattoo.
She had known then, why she had felt the almost instantaneous connection to him, why, even in the midst of their lust filled kissing haze, there had been an undeniable intimacy to it. If the tattoo was right - and she knew it was - he was her soul mate. He was the man that she was destined to be with.
She had ran so quickly out of the cabin, she had barely heard him call after her as the wind whipped around her ears.
And now, hiding in the men's changing rooms of the dank ski lodge, concealed only by the jutting edge of the lockers, she found her mouth had become dry from hanging open to long. Her temperature risen just from stared at him, standing in the corner undressing.
He was taking each piece off so slowly it was sinful. If she had thought about it she would have said it was almost as if he knew that he was being watched, but she didn't because her mind was completely fried.
Her eyes drifted over his half naked form and she couldn't even begin to try and stop it.
Everything about him seemed to turn her on.
He had a perfectly sculpted backside, and she noticed as he turned that the lion tattoo on his wrist was not the only tattoo he boasted.
There were dozens of them, some large ones, some small, that wrapped around his torso and down his rib-cage. Most of which were words, penned in swirly ink the shined black and blue in the fluorescent room.
She could just make out the word 'honor' that glistened in cursive script, right over his breast as he turned around.
Seeing that he was now facing her, she threw her head back, trying to suck herself inwards in the hopes as to not be noticed. Trying her best to blend in with the wall.
Thankfully he had left moments later, heading towards the bathrooms via the saunas and she bolted towards the door, making her escape. She hadn't even cared that the door had slammed against the wall of the changing room as she left, she was in to much of a hurry to try and escape unnoticed!
She shook her head as the memory of spying on him in the small room clouded her mind.
She could feel her body heating up again as the thoughts entered her mind. She shivered realizing just how cold the small bathroom that she was standing in had become.
She turned towards the tub, initially thinking that she should hop back in and take another luke-warm shower, however when a chill ran through her she eyed the shower head but she knew it was no use. The water had begun to turn cold the moment she had gotten in the first time. Apparently, the snow storm was effecting the lodges heating systems as well.
Figures.
Regina sighed heavily as her teeth began to chatter. There was no way she was going to be able to sleep now, if she was shivering like that all night. She needed another way to get warm.
Wrapping a towel around herself she left the bathroom, going in search of heat. She sent up a quick prayer to whatever God that was currently getting a kick out of watching her demise from his perch in the heavens, that the power would come back on and she would be able to get out of there and her close proximity to the Thief, sooner than later!
xxx
Elsa looked down at her hands like they had burned her.
She couldn't begin to understand why her powers were acting so strangely!
When she had tried to magic the small snowman that she and Henry had built in the back yard, to bring him to life - like she had her childhood friend, Olaf, back in Arendelle - her powers had gone completely out of control!
Now, instead of having one living snowman, they found themselves in the midst of a kingdom of snowpeople, ice palace included!
The mounds of snow that they had built and frozen together, all started to come to life. Elsa watched in shock as one snow man after another began to pop up, shaking slightly as their round bodies started to move.
Henry and Roland did the same, however they did not seem to share the same horror as her.
Their eyes were large, small mouths hanging wide open.
If she hadn't been in such a state of shock, the Ice Queen would have burst out in laughter at the bewilderment painted on their faces when the first snowman introduced himself to them. However she found nothing funny about the current situation and she watched, frozen in panic, as a dozen or so snowmen proceeded to swivel around the mayor's now 'antarctic' garden, talking animatedly with one another and singing.
The boys, on the other hand, were in heaven. Frolicking around, running to and from the house, scavenging up carrots for each of the snowpeople's noses. When she heard the first snap of one of the mayor's famed apple tree branches she knew she was in trouble. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Henry, standing on top of a pile of stacked wood, snapping branches and handing them to Roland who was busy inserting them into the sides of each snowperson, giving them 'arms'. The Ice Queen gulped.
How was she ever going to get hired again?
xxx
Regina made her way out of the bathroom, padding her way only on the carpeted parts of the floor, avoiding the freezing tile.
Somewhere, deep, in the quite and undisclosed and somewhat hopeful parts of her mind, Regina found herself fantasizing that the Thief was somehow already settled in on the bed, dead asleep, leaving her able to make her way through the suite in her search for heat unnoticed.
But that would be too easy.
Light hit her, flickering in from the moonlight reflecting off of the snow outside of the bedroom window. Peaking her head around the corner, she did a quick scan of the room.
No Thief.
She took a step in.
She was able to make her way through the bedroom without a sound, assuming that the man had decided to sleep on the sofa, which let her anxiety finally begin to drop to a normal ratio. As she rounded the corner however her jaw dropped open, all ability to breathe leaving her completely as her eyes took in what was in front of her, stopping her dead in her tracks
There, right before the windows, with his completely chizzled body silhouetted by the night skies, was Robin. Utterly naked, as he was wrapped in only a towel, and completely unaware of her presence.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Regina belted, somewhere between a blood curdling scream and shriek of terror.
He definitely wasn't unaware now!
She watched as he jumped backwards slightly, his hands grabbing at the knot of the towel, keeping it securely closed around him before snapping his head back around, his electric blue eyes finding hers at once.
"Well since you decided to use up all of the hot water left in this state, I figured I was going to have to go in search of my own warmth."
"And what, you thought stripping down and wearing nothing but a towel would make you warmer?" Regina snapped, completely befuddled.
"Coming from the woman wearing only a towel," he retorted, raising a hand to point at her currently scant attire, "At least I'm not dripping wet."
Regina felt her heartbeat jump from her chest to her throat as a surge of heat made it's way downwards through her, stopping just in between her legs at his words.
"Well-" she began, but she cut herself off. "I'm assuming you at least have some plan for getting warm then."
Robin nodded.
"I do, Milady."
"And what is it?"
Regina watched as a smile smirk began to tug at the corner of the man's bottom lip before he turned back slightly, pointing outside the window. "See there?"
She followed his gaze, noticing the object that he was pointing at.
"Yes... oh, no."
"What no?" Robin asked.
"No as in there's no way in hell I'm getting into a hot tub with you!" She spat.
It was the thief's turn to look confused as she watched him turn back to face her from the corner of her eye, his eyebrows furrowing on his forehead.
"I don't think I ever asked you too?" He said.
Regina opened her mouth to snap back but she stopped dead in her tracks as she realized that she had she had indeed jumped to the conclusion that he was asking her to join him.
"Well I- um," she began, but his voice cut her off.
"But you are more then invited too, if you wanted to join me."
Regina turned, seeing his eyes on her's once again. The blue was deeper, darker now and it was doing something very interesting to the area between her thighs.
"No." She stated, resolutely, ripping her gaze away from his.
He stepped forward.
"Why not? Are you afraid you can't control yourself?"
Regina huffed, "It's not me we should be worried about."
"I'm not worried." Robin answered, stepping forward again.
She could almost feel the heat radiating off of his skin from his closeness and she pulled the thin towel that was wrapped around her, keeping her naked skin from touching his, closer together at the top.
"Oh, and you think it's me that should make us worry?" She asked, feeling her breath beginning to leave her in pants, "If I remember correctly, I hasn't been me going around town, making winky faces and blatantly sexual remarks every chance I get."
"I'm getting the feeling that you don't trust yourself with the idea of being alone with me," Robin said, ignoring her statement and staring straight at her.
She shook her head, feeling her throat constricting as her ability to breathe left her again.
"I trust myself," she said, shakily.
"Then come with me."
