Chapter 25
Yuzuru sighs in the morning while she washes the dishes and then she dried her hand. She took her phone and checked her phone, she receive 4 texts, from her mother, brother, Sayuri and even Ayame. She smiles with sigh and then she sit down on the floor to reply all the text when she's replying texts her brother is the first and the only one who reply her text with a shocking news saying Tora going to met with his fiancée today and asking if Yuzuru want Hiikaru to tell Tora to stop it or not. Yuzuru stuns for awhile but before she could reply she hear knocks from the door so she stand up and puts her phone on the drawer and opens the door. She opens the door and sees Abe stand there with his coat while holding his phone,
"...Merry Christmas" he says
Yuzuru frowns
Then he enters her house and Yuzuru closes the door,
"What are you doing here?" asks Yuzuru
"Visiting, it's Christmas right?" asked Abe with smile
"Ayame told you, doesn't she?"
"What did you expect?" asks Abe with his sweet smile
Yuzuru sighs then she leans on the wall with arm cross in front of her chess and Abe standing not far from where she's standing,
"Is this the time when you convince me to go to Tora to settle everything?" asks Yuzuru
Abe smiles and shook his head,
"I come for something else" Abe says
"What?"
Abe smiles and without any other words he kneels down and then he smiles again at Yuzuru,
"I come to propose" Abe answers with smile
"...Again, what?" asks Yuzuru
"I ask you, will you go out with me?" asks Abe
Yuzuru stares at him and actually laughs about it but he knows she tries her best to make that laugh sound real while he can sees her teary eyes,
"Several months ago, I tell you my feeling but you haven't answer it yet... because Tora show up and drag you but now... there will be no interruption"
"Abe, please don't do this"
"...Why? What I want is just your answer" Abe still smiling kindly to Yuzuru
"Because you pushing yourself, why are you pushing this kind of stuff..?!" asks Yuzuru
"Because I like you" Abe stand up and stand in front of Yuzuru
"I like, I really do and I wish you can reply this feeling...!"
Yuzuru stares at the tall man and the smile from Yuzuru's face vanishes and replace with teary eyes and puffy cheeks,
"That's why you pushing it" says Yuzuru
"...
"It's a no?" he asks, still with his smile
"...I'm sorry" Yuzuru says
Abe keep smiling to her but she can tell he somehow feel sad at that moment,
"Ayame will kill me after this" Abe says trying to laugh
"Abe"
"I actually ditch her today, I suppose to meet her in an hour but I guess it is okay"
"Abe"
"New year is coming, where are you going?"
"Abe!" shouts Yuzuru
Abe looks at Yuzuru with his smile and Yuzuru looks at him with such painful face,
"...Please stop smiling" she says
In that time the smile stays but it fades away and slowly the smile finally vanishes away from his face and the two of them looks at each other with completely different expression,
"Please chase after him" Abe says all of sudden
"Wha—"
"I betray my own friend by falling for his fiancée so it's time for me to at least help on you two relationship"
"..Why are you doing this? Why are you kept pushing yourself and make yourself injured?" Yuzuru narrows her eyes while looking to him
Abe smiles to her,
"...I hope everything will work out on you two" he says and then without any further words he walks away and leave her
He exits her room and closes the door, the air is getting colder so he puts his hand inside his pocket and walks without any direction.
He sits on the park bench and isn't moving even an inch when the snow fall from the sky and keep looking to the front, he stays in that position until an umbrella protects him from the snow falling, he turns over and sees Ayame,
"...It's white Christmas" Ayame says with smile
Abe smiles wryly, and then he looks to the front again and sighs,
"Rejected?" asks Ayame
"I even couldn't tell her happy birthday" Abe answers
"...I come over to her house and she told me everything. About your confession, your words and...The fact that she's meeting with Tora tonight" Ayame answers
"It's about time" Abe says
Ayame smiles vanishes away, she dropped her umbrella and embrace Abe from the behind while the snow still falling on both of them, Ayame smile once she embraces him while not a smile shows from his face,
"...You're a good person, Abe" Ayame says
"...
"I told you, right?
"First love will never work" Ayame says with such sad smile
Abe stays quiet for a few seconds and sighs again,
"...What about you?" asks Abe
Ayame chuckles while still embracing him,
"...Funny fact, my first love was actually Tora" Ayame says
Abe turns to Ayame and she smiles at him. Then he sighs again but with smile and holds her arm gently,
"Funny enough" Abe says with smile
At the same day, Yuzuru keep staring at her phone and keep staring at Tora's number while she stood there doing nothing. She gives a little sigh and then she puts her phone in her pocket and exits her room.
