Chapter 25 (Season 5)
I was standing there in the rain just looking at Eichen House. I could feel myself just about to leave when I started to hear the screams. First it was Stiles. I started towards the building when I heard a new set of screams. Malia?! I started running to Eichen house. I kept running as I heard both Stiles and Malia calling out from Eichen house, but I wasn't getting any closer. Suddenly another set of screams joined in the chorus and my heart dropped.
"Lydia?" I tried sprinting with all my might as I heard Stiles, Malia, and now Lydia all screaming. Lydia's screams were getting louder and louder, "Lydia! Lydia!" and then I tripped.
I sat up in bed. I felt my forehead and bare chest. I was sweating. It was just a dream, a terrible awful dream. Thank god. I turned over and saw Lydia there asleep. I ran my finger along her cheek and then through her hair. She sighed.
"What are you doing?" she asked without moving. The lightning from outside lit up Lydia's face.
"I'm just checking that you're still here." I answered. She rolled onto her back and looked at me.
"And why wouldn't I be?" she asked in my over sized T-shirt.
"Must I remind you about your supernatural sleepwalking tendencies?" I asked with a smile.
"Oh please," she yawned, "What time is it?" I checked her digital clock. It was nearing midnight.
"It is time for us to go to the school." I told her.
"Agh. That senior scribe thing is tonight." she grumbled as she took a pillow and covered her face. I stood up and grabbed her hand to pull her up.
"Come on Ariel. Unlike Cinderella you can stay out past midnight," I pulled her up from bed and gave her a kiss. She smiled and bit her lip. That's when a lightning bolt showed right outside her window, "Whoa, did you see that?"
"No," she turned around to the window, "What was it?"
"It was a lightning bolt." I answered as I walked over to the window.
"Yeah, that's what happens in a thunderstorm." she told me sarcastically.
"No, I know that. It landed right outside your window," I couldn't see anything, "Alright, I guess we better get going."
"We have now walked around this school three times and we have yet to find any of our friends." I told Lydia who was holding my hand. Small groups of seniors passed us here and there, but none of them were Scott, Kira, Stiles, or Malia.
"I know and my phone has no reception. I can't call them." she told me as she looked at her phone. Her face was just plain as if she didn't know what to feel.
"Hey," she looked up and met my eyes, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine it's just…"
"It's just what?" I asked.
"This is the first event of our senior year and none of our friends are here. We don't have the best track record when it comes to living a decent normal life. Is this a sign that we're already starting off and something's wrong?" she looked down at the ground. I squeezed her hand and put my finger to her chin so she'd look me in the eye again.
"Lydia, we don't live normal lives because we're not normal. We've had a pretty good summer together so please don't forget that. I don't know where everybody is, but I know that I'm here with you at the school at night and nothing is wrong. Usually these midnight trips to the school start off bad, but this one is really great so we are already off to a pretty good start," she smiled a little and so did I as I started to pull her to a classroom, "And it can get even better," I opened the door and looked in to find that there were two other students in there with most of their clothes missing, "Oh my gosh!" the two students looked our way. The girl hid behind her shirtless boyfriend.
"Good idea." Lydia whispered to me.
"Seriously!" the dude just shrugged, "Oh come on!" I yelled as I grabbed Lydia and left the classroom. Lydia and I were walking down the hallway when I heard it. I could hardly hear it through all the rain, but whatever it was it was close, "Oh hey, I gotta run to the bathroom real quick, but I'll be back in a minute. Wait for me here?" I didn't want her fears of a bad start to be confirmed.
"Fine." she crossed her arms and leaned against the lockers.
"Thank you." I gave her a quick peck on the lips and then ran down the hall and outside, but Lydia couldn't see me through the group of seniors I jumped through. The rain was coming down so hard that it was hard to see, but I heard it again. A growl and this time it was louder. I ran and ran until I got under the elevated hall and under it I found Scott, Kira, and someone else. Scott was hit hard across the way and fell to the ground. Kira whipped out her belt and it formed into this katana. She ran at the giant man and swung left, right, up, down landing every hit, but it did nothing. The beast hit back harder than she had hitting her with his big palm and there I saw his extra long claws that were so curved that they seemed more like talons. Kira fell back. He turned to Scott and I saw on his face was streaks of black dried blood.
"True alpha? Where's your power Scott?" the beast asked.
"Right here." I growled as I felt the change turn me. I roared and ran at the guy. He was waiting for me to make the first move, but taking him straight on wouldn't work so right as I got to him I slid underneath his wide stance. I hopped up onto his back and sliced his chest. His shirt ripped, but his skin was so thick that he didn't even bleed. In my moment of shock he reached over and grabbed me. He then flipped me over his shoulder where I crashed to the ground. He raised his hand up over his head and was about to bring it down on me when Scott stopped him. The man used his free hand to punch Scott hard across his face. Scott stumbled back, but regained his composure as I crawled over to Kira.
"Who are you?" Scott asked.
"A devoted fan," the man answered in between deep breaths, "Show me the man who took down Deucalion, and broke the Argents. I came for that Alpha. Come on!" The man yelled. Scott roared back and ran at the guy. Scott ducked low cutting the guys legs where Scott then used that swing's momentum to spin him around. He brought his leg up and kicked the guy right in the face. He kept slicing the guy with his claws, but it did next to nothing to the man. It was then Scott went to kick him, but he caught Scott's leg with one arm and with the other arm he grabbed Scott's neck. He pushed Scott back up against the concrete wall. I didn't even notice Kira had left me, she ran at the man with her sword. The man released Scott to block Kira's swing. He eventually caught Kira's arm and threw her down. He turned back to Scott. I tried my best to stand fighting through the pain in my back. My rage pushed the were-coyote in me and I could feel my body healing.
"I didn't just come to claim your status." he held out his hand and then his huge claws started to glow blue. Out of nowhere another werewolf dropped down to the ground. Before I could even see who he was he ran at 'Blue Claws'. He used the wall to propel him at the blue taloned werewolf. He hit Blue hard and continued to hit him hard. He was even able to block one of Blue's swings, but then Blue used his sheer strength to grab and throw the newbie. I ran at Blue, but without even looking at me he raised his arm extremely fast and I ran right into his claws. I gasped for breath. He slowly turned to me and looked me in the eyes. He gave me this sinister grin. Suddenly, his arm flew up and I felt all five of his claws rip through my body and chest. My shirt teared open and I fell to the ground. I looked down at my wounds and saw how deep the cuts were. My blood was dark and started to seep out of me. The man turned back to Scott and went at him. Scott dodged and dodged again, but then Blue caught him. He swung his free hand and daggered his talons into Scott's abdomen. Scott struggled, but his movements slowed and his eyes were no longer red.
"Sc-Scott?" I tried my best to call out to him through my bloody mouth. Scott fell to his knees right as Stiles, Malia, and Liam came rushing over. Then Scott grabbed Blue's arm and stood up fighting through the pain. Once he was fully standing his snapped Blue's arm back and his eyes returned to their fluorescent red. Blue dropped to his knees as he clutched his arm. Scott ripped the remaining talons out of his body and tossed them.
"I don't know who you are or what you thought were gonna do, but I'll give you a choice. You can stay and I'll break something else...or you can run." Scott clenched his fists.
"I'd run." Stiles told Blue. And he did, he ran outta there in seconds. I saw Stiles and them all smile. I looked at Malia who met my gaze and then she frowned.
"Wyatt?!" she ran over to me. She lifted my head off the ground and held it in her hands.
"I-I'm fine," I took a breath, "ju-just takin my time, "another breath, "to heal." Malia whipped her head around to Scott and Kira.
"What happened?" she growled.
"He tried to stop that guy, but…" Kira didn't finish her sentence.
"Lydia...Lydia is inside. M-make sure...she's al-alright." I told Malia.
"You can make sure yourself. Come on," she tried lifting me, "Get up." she growled. Suddenly I could breath normally and the pain seemed to lull. Malia gasped. I looked at her arms and saw the black veins.
"Malia," Scott came on the other side of me and looked at Malia, "You're taking his pain." I saw her nostrils flare as she continued to take my pain.
"Malia it's alright. You can stop now," I spoke clearly. I took my hand and went to push her hands away, but she wouldn't move them, "Malia?"
"I'm your big sister," I could hear the strain in her voice, "I'm suppose to take care," she breathed deeply, "of you." I smiled at that. I could feel that the relief of pain was speeding up my healing. I felt my wounds had already almost completely closed. Malia finally let go and breathed heavily. I winced in pain as I sat up, but it wasn't as nearly as bad as it originally was.
"I'm probably gonna need some new clothes," I told them as I took off the scrap of T-shirt I had left. They helped me up and I saw the newbie werewolf in his human form, "But first we should figure out who this guy is and why he's here." We all looked at the handsome new face.
"You don't remember me do you?" he asked. I think he was talking to Scott, but Scott just raised an eyebrow, "I guess I do look a little different since the fourth grade." It took Scott a second.
"Theo?" Scott finally guessed.
"You know this guy?" Malia asked.
"They use to," Theo answered for Scott, "Trust me I thought I'd never see you guys again. A couple months ago I heard of an alpha from Beacon Hills. When I heard his name was Scott McCall I just couldn't believe it. And not just an alpha, but a true alpha." He was oddly calm and laid back for someone who returned just in time to see a bunch of people, including himself, be torn apart by some jacked up were-being.
"For what?" Scott asked.
"To come back to Beacon Hills. To be with my family. Because I want to be a part of your pack." he explained.
We finally made it into the school and I had on new clothes, ones not completely covered in blood. Stiles was worried as always, Scott with his arm around Kira, and Malia was pulling out her phone. She stopped walking.
"I made it," she looked up, "I passed." Stiles hugged her.
"Yeah big sis, you're officially a senior." I gave her a hug too.
"Oh thank god," I turned around to find Lydia charging towards the group, "Where have you guys been?" she was looking at everyone besides me right now, "The whole senior class is here. Are we doing this or not?" she asked.
"Yeah we are!" I blurted.
"And you," she poked my chest hard, "You said you were just going to the bathroom. What were you doing? And why are you in different clothes?"
"It's a long story." I told her.
"No, tell me. I've been waiting here for half an hour by myself while you go galavanting wherever you want with our friends and then you just think you can come wal-" I kissed her. I took her face gently in my hands and pressed her lips against mine. She didn't fight it so we kissed until I realized everyone else was still standing there watching us. I smiled as I held Lydia in my arms and we both looked at the group. I looked at Malia to see what she thought about her little brother. She just shrugged her shoulders, turned to Stiles, grabbed his collar, and yanked him to her lips. His lanky arms flopped around until he realized he wasn't in danger just in Malia's possession. I laughed at them along with Lydia, Scott, and Kira.
We made it to the library and waited our turn to sign the library book rack. Stiles went and signed, then Kira, and then Scott. He didn't just sign his name though. He wrote right under his name AA. Allison. Allison Argent. I hugged Lydia when she saw it. It wasn't sad really. It was happy. Allison would have been here doing the same thing. It was cute. Lydia signed and then Malia. She wrote M and then paused. She smiled and then wrote MT. I smiled and hugged her.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Hugging my sister." I answered.
"Well let go." she told me.
"I'm not done yet." I told her.
"Well I am." she pushed me away. I smiled at her. She grinned and then turned away before anyone else saw that she had a heart. I signed my name nice and big right next to Lydia's initials.
"There," I turned to her, "now we'll always be together."
