Chapter 25
It felt like hours had passed when he finally took out his phone. There was no proof that there was going to be any good that came from who ever he was calling but it was a good chance.
Klaus was gone; he was trying to recruit Marcel to help them. As long as Rebekah was stuck in this body, she wasn't ready for Marcel to know she was back. Elijah and Hayley were in the kitchen fixing something to eat and a bottle for Hope.
Hayley was mixing formula when her phone started to ring. She looked at the screen it was Jackson. She stood there staring at her phone; did she want to talk to him? Elijah took the bottle from Hayley giving her an encouraging look saying that maybe she should talk to him. "Hello," She answered leaving the kitchen.
"Hayley, that friend that Klaus is looking for is here."
"Caroline, How?" She was taken by surprise, "wait, and is Finn?"
"Finn, no, she just showed up alone."
"Thank you Jack."
"Bye and Hayley I'm sorry."
"Me too," Hayley ended the call.
Jackson looked at Caroline, "So it was Finn, why did he let you go?" He asked walking to where he sent the wolf's minutes earlier.
Caroline followed him, "he didn't, and he has a partner, a witch named Serena."
The reached the center of the bayou, there was a fire burning with everyone from earlier gathered around still talking about the same thing. The conversation stopped as they walked up. All eyes fell on her; she looked from Jackson then to them. All it takes is a single bite, she thought as she found an empty place to sit.
Hayley walked back in the kitchen, Elijah was feeding Hope. Elijah's attention fell on her as she opened the door to the kitchen. "It was Jackson, Caroline is at the bayou Finn let her go," the surprise was evident in her voice.
"Did you tell Niklaus," Elijah questioned, knowing his brother needs to know.
"No, but the wolves and Jackson hate him," she didn't try to sugar coat the dislike the wolves held towards Klaus. "It's best if I go, it's safer for everyone." Elijah nodded but didn't say anything. "Watch Hope, there has to be a reason why Finn let her go."
Elijah continued to feed Hope, "of course, and I will try to call Niklaus and tell him." Hayley left.
The conversation finally resumed even while she sat with them. Caroline figured they were doing it on purpose when they found out she wasn't going anywhere any time soon. She sat there not listening to anything they had to say but focusing on what Serena had said, "Put an end to all of them." Finn and Serena were trying to take down all vampires. They believed that vampires were a great sin, but if Ester a witch turned her family into vampires, that should matter too. Maybe they believe a witch started it and a witch should end it.
Jackson was at his trailer when Hayley arrived at the Bayou. He walked out, "she's with the others," he told her trying to avoid any unwanted topics about the last time she was there. He led her to the group of still talking and complaining wolf's. Caroline was among them.
Elijah tried again to reach Klaus, this time he answered on the fifth ring, "this better be important I'm-"
Elijah interrupted before he could finish his thought, "Finn let Caroline go."
"I'm coming," he answered immediately.
"Hayley is getting her, she is at the Bayou. They will be back soon." Elijah added to hopefully keep Klaus away from the Bayou. The line went dead, there was no telling if it was on purpose.
