Shinichi let out a loud groan as he carefully, carefully, shuffled down the stairs. One hand was gripping the rail like it was his life line while the other was on his lower back. While he didn't have school today, he still needed to go into the police station, so he switched out his school uniform for a pair of jeans and a baggy cream colored sweater. He had also had a red scarf wrapped around his neck to hide the bites and bruises that Kaito absolutely needed to put where everyone could see them.

And the entire lower section of his body hurt.

The detective let out a sigh as he finally made it down the stairs and to the kitchen. His relief however, was short lived.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Hattori, Ran and Eliza were all crowed around his kitchen table, eating pancakes and drinking coffee like they owned the place.

"Good morning Sleeping Beauty!" Eliza got up from her seat and after giving him a hug, handed him a steaming mug of coffee and a plate piled high with pancakes.

Shinichi blinked at his now full hands, before looking back up his 'house guest's'. "Seriously, what are you doing here?"

"Surprise visit." Hattori answered this time. "Now sit down."

Shinichi shook his head, and then did as Hattori commanded. He winced slightly, and while everyone noticed it, they didn't say anything. They did however, ask about his scarf.

"Are you cold?" Ran asked.

It took Shinichi a few seconds to realize she was talking about his scarf, and when he did he let out a quick 'no'.

"Then why are you wearing a scarf?"

Shinichi was saved from answering when Kaito walked down the stairs. The thief was fully clothed, classic KID smirk on his lips, and looking a hell of a lot better than Shinichi. "What's up?"

"You're still here?" Hattori asked. Kaito just grinned and nodded, taking a seat at the head of the table. Silence then filled the room.

"…hey Hattori?" Shinichi looked up at his fellow detective. "Would you be willing to take a case for me today?"

"Why…?"

"Because Shin-Chan has stuff to finish up with me in the bedroom." Kaito answered for him. He then got up and stalked over to Shinichi's side of the table.

"Kai, wait-" Shinichi yelped as he was yanked from the table, and everything clicked for Eliza at the use of the nick name.

She waited until the door to Shinichi's room slammed shut before voicing her discovery.

"Those two are totally having sex."

Hattori spit out his coffee while the mug in Ran's hands shattered to millions of tiny pieces.
