Hey, guys! Sorry for the long wait... Honestly, I hadn't realized how long it had been since the last update until just a few days ago. I've been crazy busy with my finals and all that, leaving no time for writing. I hope the lenght and content of this chapter will make up for the wait :)
Also, a few of you seemed to be wondering about Austin's parents. Well, remember Austin's dream/nightmare about two chapters ago? Well, that was pretty much a flashback to Austin's parents' death.
And last but not least... WE REACHED 200 FOLLOWERS! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT; IT'S VERY APPRECIATED :)
Disclaimer: We do not own Austin & Ally, or anything else you may recognize in this story.
Enjoy! :)
Ally's P.O.V.
"So, what's your deal with your brother's friends?" Leah, one of my closest friends (or more like my only friend besides Austin and the others), asks me.
I look away from my locker from which I'm taking out books for my next class, English, to glance at her. Leah is a blonde with beautiful blue eyes (which I've always been jealous of). She's skinny, but not so much that she looks unhealty. I've known her since third grade and we've been by each other's side ever since. The only thing about our friendship is that she has other friends besides me and I don't... Well, I didn't. Now, I do.
"What do you mean?" I ask, frowning, putting away my History book.
She shrugs. "I don't know... It's just that you've been hanging out with them a lot recently, and I've just been wondering. I mean, I never really saw you with Elliot's friends before besides his girlfriend, and all of a sudden you're acting like you've known them forever."
I shut my locker's door and we begin walking. Leah isn't in A.P. classes, but her next class is right next to mine, so we can walk there together.
"I don't know... I met them a few months ago and we kinda clicked, I guess." I explain.
"What about Austin?"
For some reason, my heart skips a beat at the mention of Austin. He could finally come back to school last week, but still has to wear an aircast until at least next week. I guess you could say our relationship has improved in the last month, since he told me about his parents. At first, I felt bad for him, but Austin insisted on me treating him just the same, which I'm trying really hard to do. Jackie is starting to come around at the idea of Austin and I being together, even though, technically, we're not. Or, are we? I'm not really sure. I mean, Austin flirts with me all the time and we've kissed a few times, but we never confirmed our relationship to each other, which can get a bit confusing for me. He told Trent I was his girlfriend once, but we never talked about that, so... Like I said. Very confusing.
"Austin? What about him?" I ask, hoping to avoid talking about my complicated relationship.
"Are you serious? Don't you know anything about the status of your love life, right now?"
"Austin and I aren't-" I start, just to be cut off by a familiar voice.
"I heard my name; what did I do?" I sigh in relief at Austin's timing, turning around with a smile on my face.
"Hey, what's up?" I ask him, hoping for him to shrug off the fact that Leah and I were just talking about him.
No such luck.
"I was on my way to my class when I saw you." He explains, limping because of his aircast. Since you're in that class with me, I figured we could walk there together. Then, just as I was catching up with you, I heard you say my name. I got curious. What did I do?"
"You and Ally haven't DTRed." Leah answers before I have the chance to even think of a response. I snap my head toward her and shoot her what I hope is a vicious glare. She only shrugs in response.
"DTR?" Austin's eyebrows scrunch up in confusion. "What does that mean?"
"Define the Relationship, of course!" Leah exclaims, as if refusing to believe someone wouldn't know that.
Austin raises an eyebrow. "You were talking about Ally and I defining our relationship? Why?"
"Because half the school is waiting for you to grow a pair and ask her out, genius!" Leah snaps and I slap my forehead, then wince.
Austin makes a face. "Ooh, that's gotta hurt. You alright, there?" He asks, taking my hand away from my face, probably revealing the blush I'm feeling creep up on my cheeks.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I mumble as we stop infront of our class. "I'll see you later?" I ask Leah.
She nods. "Definitely. This conversation isn't over." She says and enters her classroom.
I roll my eyes as I follow Austin in ours. "Great." I mutter and hear Austin chuckling as he takes a seat at the desk beside mine. I frown, sitting down next to him. "Since when do you sit at the front?"
"Since now." He grins and I roll my eyes, organizing my stuff on my desk. "So, your friend wants us to TRB, huh?"
"No, she wants us to DTR. And can we just forget that conversation ever happened?" I plead.
"Nope. Your friend wants us to DTR, so we'll DTR. But not now. Tonight. I'll pick you up at your place around seven."
I raise an eyebrow, trying not to get my hopes up. "And what are we going to do?"
He wiggles his eyebrows. "We're going on a date."
"Oh, are we now?" I ask and he nods, making me giggle. "You know, usually, guys actually ask the girl out. They don't just assume she wants to go out with them."
He mocks surprise. "Really? Since when?"
"About ever." I giggle again.
He pouts. "But I thought you liked me."
"Really? Who ever gave you that idea?"
"You," He leans in a bit closer to me. "Remember? A few weeks ago..." I don't move away. I notice his eyes flicker to my lips and my heart skips a beat. "Your room..." He leans in even closer. I still don't move away. "Eleven o'clock at night..." My heart's beating way too fast for it to be healty. Our faces are so close to each other I can feel his breath hitting my face. "Rings a bell?" He whispers.
"It does, but that was quite a while ago and you still haven't made your move," I attempt to tease him, hoping to appear unfazed by how close he is.
"Alright, well then," he clears his throat and take my hand, his expression turning exaggeratingly serious as he leans away. I bite my lip, forcing back a laugh and a blush. "Ally, would you like to go on a date with me and define our relationship during said date?"
I grin. "I'd love to."
He smiles as well. "Great."

"So, did Austin ask you out?" Elliot asks, popping his head in my room.
I push my glasses up my nose and raise my head from my math homework laying on my bed to look at him. "How'd you know?"
He scoffs. "Austin's my best friend. You think he wouldn't ask for my permission to take my sister on a date?"
... So, Austin was planning on asking me out before our conversation, this morning? Huh...
"And you said yes?!"
He pouts. "Don't look so surprised!"
"Cassidy made you say yes, didn't she?" I ask knowingly.
"Maybe." He mumbles, barely loud enough for me to hear, then leaves. I shake my head at my brother's behaviour and am about to go back to my homework when my door slams open, probably creating a hole in the wall.
"DUDE!" I scream, jumping in surprise. Cassidy rushes in and jumps on my bed, a huge grin menacing to split her face in half.
"Is this really happening? Did he finally grow some balls and ask you out?" She almost shouts.
"Yes, now can you stop jumping? I'm trying to finish my homework."
"When is he picking you up?"
"Seven." I answer, completing a question on my worksheet.
"Seven?!" She screeches and I jump again. I sigh and give up on trying to do the work. With Cassidy making me have a near heart attack every five seconds, it's an impossible task. I glance at the alarm clock sitting on my bedside table and wonder why Cassidy's freaking out so much. We still have two hours. "Screw you homework, you have the whole weekend to do that! Now, come on, I'll help you get ready."
"I don't even know what to wear. He wouldn't tell me where we were going."
"Lucky for you, I know where you're going, so I know exactly what to get you to wear."
I frown. "How long has he been planning to ask me out, exactly?"
"About three weeks ago. I was starting to loose hope on the poor guy."
Three weeks. A week after he told me about his parents.
My eyes widen. "And you've known this whole time?"
"Of course! Now, come on! Let's get you dressed." She takes my hand without waiting for my response and practically drags me off my bed. I groan, totally not looking forward to the next two hours, knowing they'll be hell.

No matter how crazy Cassidy can get, she sure is great with fashion. She finishes my outfit fifteen minutes before seven, but I have to say the result was worth the time. Cassidy made me wear a baby blue sundress with matching sandals. She straightened my hair to make it look different from my usual curls and kept the makeup to a natural look, only adding eyeliner to make my eyes look slightly bigger.
"Cass, you're seriously a fashion genius!" I gasp, staring at my reflexion.
She shrugs off the compliment with a wave of her hand. "Please, Ally. This," she made a circular motion with her hand, "is pretty basic stuff." She sighs dramatically. "Gosh, this is why I'm glad I didn't have to live with two brothers. Girl, you've got so much to learn."
"And that's why I have you, isn't it?"
She grins. "Exactly."
"Ally!" I hear Elliot call from downstairs. "Austin's here!"
My heart skips a beat and I forget how to breathe for a second.
"Don't," Cassidy says knowingly, but I can barely make sense of what she's saying. She forcefully grabs my right upper arm, snapping me back to reality. Her eyes are wide as they stare into mine. "Don't panic, Ally. Relax; nothing bad will happen. This is Austin, we're talking about. You have nothing to worry about. The guy's already crazy about you."
"How can you be so sure?" I ask, and in the distance I can hear Elliot calling my name once again. We both ignore it.
"How could I not be? It's not like he's hiding his feelings really well, or even bothering to try doing so. Plus, you're his best friend's sister. He wouldn't have asked you out if he didn't have strong feelings for you. But you have to realize this; by trying to be in a relationship with you, he's willing to loose his friendship with Elliot, which is a lot for him. So, he must really like you, if not love you."
"How do you know he wants to try being in a relationship with me?"
"You're his best friend's sister," Cass says again. "And I'm your brother's girlfriend. Don't you think I know everything that was said between them when he asked your brother if he could take you out?"
"And Austin told my brother he'd like to be my boyfriend?"
"He didn't have much of a choice. Your brother pretty much forced the words out of the poor guy. But it was clear he meant it. Otherwise Elliot wouldn't have accepted, even with my influence."
I nod, relieved, when my door opens, revealing Elliot. "Ally, Austin's been waiting downstairs for the past five minutes and I think he's about to have a heart attack, so stop making him wait and come on!"
I quickly hug Cassidy and thank her, then walk past Elliot and make my way down the stairs, hearing Elliot protest as Cassidy forces him to stay upstairs until Austin and I leave.
Austin is waiting by the front door, fiddling with his fingers, staring at the cracks in the floor. He looks up as I get down the last three steps, but doesn't say anything.
"You okay?" I raise an eyebrow. His eyes snap up to mine and he opens and closes his mouth a few times before speaking.
"I, umm... Yeah, you look... You look different." He stammers.
I scrunch up my nose, and for a moment, I panic. Does he not like it? "Blame Cass for that."
His eyes widen in alarm. "No, no! I like it. It's just..." He shakes his head. "I like it. You look great."
I smile. "Thanks. You too." And he does. He's wearing jeans, a white t-shirt underneath a black leather jacket, and black sneakers (well, one sneaker, since his other foot is in an aircast). Typical Austin outfit, but there's something about it that makes it seem like it took more time to put together than usual.
"Thanks." He glances at the door, then back at me. "You ready?" I nod. "Let's go, then."
I shout a quick goodbye to Cass and Elliot, and Cassidy responds cheerfully while I only get a groan from Elliot, making me smile and Austin chuckle. We get into his car, he takes off his aircast (he can take it off to drive but has to put it back on to walk), and I decide to start our date by teasing him as he pulls out of my driveway.
"So, three weeks, huh?"
He takes a quick glance at me before setting his eyes back on the road. "I can't believe Cass told you." He mumbles loudly enough for me to hear.
I laugh. "I can't believe it took you so long to ask me out."
"I was nervous, okay?" He whines.
"About what? Did you really think I'd say no?" Silence. I huff in disbelief. "Austin, I thought I'd made it pretty clear how I felt about you, that night." I say, not bothering to specify which night. I know he knows.
"You did, but... Like you said this morning; feelings can change in a few weeks."
"Did your feelings change?" I ask, suddenly feeling a wave of doubt.
"What do you think?"
I shrug. "You tell me."
He scoffs. "Alls, if anything, my feelings for you only got stronger."
"So did mine for you."
He grins, making me smile as well.
"So, where are we going?" I ask him, breaking the silence.
"Well, I thought about this date for a while. I thought about what we could do, and every single idea that popped in my mind was either cliché, impossible, or I felt like it wasn't enough. I wanted this date to be perfect, but nothing ever felt like it was. But I figured you wouldn't mind cliché, so that's what I went for. I hope I was right."
"You were." I assure him.
He lets out a breath of relief, making me smile. Is he really nervous?
"So, about this BVR thing..."
"DTR." I correct him again.
"Right. Well, I've been thinking about it all day, and—"
"Oh, my god." I gasp, recognizing the road we're turning on. "Are we going to the beach?"
He sheepishly points to the backseat, where a picnic basket and a blanket are set. "Told you it was cliché. We can do something else, if you want." He says worriedly.
I smile, taking his hand in mine. "Don't worry. It's perfect."

"Alright, so I'm not quite the cook." He warns me, taking out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I giggle, and he scowls playfully. "Don't laugh! The least you could do is appreciate the effort."
"I do, I really do." I glance at the sun setting before us as I take a water bottle out of the basket. "This is nice. Thank you."
"You're welcome. I figured; I'm already going for cliché, so might as well go all out with the sunset and the sandwiches, ya know?"
I laugh again, putting my right arm around his neck and the other by my side to support me so I won't fall. "You're an idiot," I mumble right before gently pressing my lips against his. I feel him smile into the kiss, and so do I.
He pulls away all too soon, and when I open my eyes, he's smiling so hard I almost worry his face will split. "Woah, only on the first date and you're already all over me? You move fast." He says, then pecks my lips once more. His eyes linger on mine for a few seconds before he speaks again. "So, about this DTR thing... What would you say if I asked you to be my girlfriend?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Woah, look who's moving fast now!" I joke, making him chuckle. "But seriously, I'd be happy to be your girlfriend."
"Really?" He asks, biting his lip as a small smile forms on his face.
I nod, and then we're kissing again. And it feels more right than ever.

And... There you go! Auslly, finally together! *Cheers*
I spent about fifteen minutes trying to think of what to write in this chapter. Then, I spent a good five minutes staring into space, trying to think of a date they could go on. I'm a fan of cliché and am not very original with date ideas, so... This is the outcome of my temporary writer's block and unoriginal date-maker mind (if that's not a thing... Well, now it is). I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Tell me what you think in a review!
Until next time,
R5AAFan, Winter, and Daddysgirl11 :)
