Yugioh RWBY Chronicles Chapter 19
Grimm Style
(Jewel City: Emerald District)
It was late at night. The stars sparked like they always do, and the moon shined like it always did. Out in the streets was none other than Victoria Yuno, making her way down the sidewalk, with a handbag on her shoulder. Right now, she was worried about her sister. She tried calling Anna, but she hasn't picked up. Also, with everything that has been happening lately, she couldn't help but feel uneasy. She thought that Anna helping team RWBY would be simple, but it's feels as if it was getting even more complex, with each passing day. As if Anna was had a bigger role to play. Her dreams were also getting more vivid with each passing day, and it was the same dream every single day. She then let out a deep sigh as she then pushed these thoughts out of her head for now and kept on walking. Eventually, she reached an apartment complex and entered it. She then rode the elevator on the inside to the third floor, and went to room 362. After giving a couple of knocks, footsteps could be heard from the other side of the door. The door then opened up as a man wearing a sleeveless white shirt and shaggy black pants stood in the door way. However, it was a bit dark in the room, which prevented Victoria from seeing the upper half of his face.
"Heh. It's about time that you've arrived. I was getting worried that you've gotten mugged. This isn't the friendliest of neighborhoods." The man said in a deep cocky tone.
"My sincerest apologizes. I just have a lot of thoughts in my head, and some interesting things have been going on in my life." Victoria said with straight face.
"Ah, whatever. All that matters is that you're here, and nothing else. Now then, shall we begin? All that's left is to step inside." The man said.
Victoria narrowed her eyes and gaze a disapproving gaze at the man. "Honestly. You're unbelievable." She said.
(?)
Going back to Anna, currently, she found herself in dark black void area, with darkness surrounding her. Looking around her, she saw team RWBY each in a combat stance. Upon instinct she ran up to them, but darkness erupted from the ground, turning into a black ooze. Weiss, Blake and Yang tried to fight it off, but in the end, they were overwhelmed, as their bodies were then dragged down into the ground, as their screams of terror were heard. Ruby had yet to be completely dragged down, as Anna desperately grabbed Ruby's hand, as tried to pull with all her might.
"Anna! Help me! Please!" Ruby yelled, with her eyes were wide with fear.
Anna tried her hardest, pulling with all her might. In the end, her grip then slipped, as Ruby let out a terrified scream and was then silence.
"RUBY! NO!" Anna screamed, as tears rolled from her eyes. She then felt an overwhelming and dark presence behind her. Slowly, she turned her head around and saw a giant dark apparition of Malisha towering over her, with her only features being two purple eyes, and a wicked smile of a ghost. The apparition then raised both of her hands, and created a magic circle. She began charging a ray of energy in her hands. Anna fell back, as fear flooded through her body. She then fell down backwards, and looked up to see Malisha launching her attack at her. Anna wanted to scream but was too scare to even let out a cry.
(Huntress HQ Infirmary)
Anna woke up from the nightmare she just had, and began breathing heavily with sweat running down her face. After recovering from the shock, she began to look around to see where she was. Right now, she was sitting in a hospital bed, and was wearing a hospital gown. There were also bandages wrapped around her right arm, left leg and her forehead, and some stick-on bandages on her face. She then looked around, with the color white mostly everywhere, and saw there was a blue curtain drape surrounding the area, and her duel disk and deck were laying on the table next to her bed. There was also a vacant bed next to her, as she saw that there was a pistol underneath the pillow. She then felt pain on her face, as she began rubbing it. The curtain drapes then reopened as another patient walked in. Anna recognized that the person was Lalah, and she had a chocolate pocky in her mouth, and a box of it in her hand.
"I see you're awake now. You looked like you were having a real bad time." Lalah said, in a Chinese accent.
"I guess. I'm Anna by the way." Anna said.
"I know. Everyone here knows that. Name's Lalah, but you probably already know that." She replied, as she then raised the box of pocky towards Anna. "Want some?" she asked.
Anna only nodded, as she then took a Pocky out of the box and nibbled on it.
Lalah then sat down on her bed and began munching on her own snack. "Pocky. Strangely, this somehow ended my addiction to smoking. Maybe 'replace' is the correct word. So, how did you end up here? I was sleeping when they brought you in." she asked.
"I-I lost. I lost a duel." Anna replied meekly.
"Oh. That's a bummer. Think you're going to be okay?" Lalah asked as she took out another Pocky to eat.
"Y-yeah. Sure. I'll be fine. So, how did you end up here?" Anna asked, as she felt a need to keep the conversation going.
"Bullet to the abdomen, knife cuts on my body, a stab wound on my right calf, and some bruising. Last mission was not the prettiest. Jill had to give me some stitches. I'm probably going to be out for a while." Lalah said
"O-oh." Anna replied. An awkward silence then filled the air again, as Anna wondered what she should say next. "Um, why do you have a gun under your pillow?" she asked.
"Protection. In mine line of work, I deal with the shadier jobs." Lalah replied.
Anna didn't reply this time, as she noticed the cold gaze in Lalah's eyes, showing that this Huntress has seen a lot of unpleasant things in her life. Another round of awkward silence filled the air, as the sound of munching was the only thing that could be heard. Just then, a noise from the ceiling was heard. Anna then looked up to see one of the panels began to move. She then saw the Scout Huntress, Stella from above, as she then dropped down from above.
Stella then looked around and then saw Anna. "Oh. Hello there. You must be, Ms. Yuno. I must say, I thought you would be taller." She said. Stella then extended her hand out for a handshake.
"Uh, thanks. And you're a lot more, uh, prettier in person." Anna replied.
Stella then began laughing softly. "Aw, that's so nice of you. As much as I would love to chat with the Duelist, I can't stay here for long. You mind lifting up your pillow?" she asked.
Anna didn't know what was going on, but she did comply. Stella then moved closer to the end of the bed, and then took out a survival knife that was holstered on her leg. She then stabbed the end of the bed, frightening Anna, as she began cutting a square shape. She then lifted up the cut-up section, which revealed a cheesecake on a plate, including a clean fork, within the bed, and was somehow perfectly preserved, despite there being no refrigeration. Anna was baffled of how that was even possible, as Stella then reached in grabbed the cake and began eating it with a joyful smile on her face. After a few bites, she returned the cut-up part onto the bed and quickly sowed it in place, making it good as new.
"H-how…w-why…?" Anna stuttered as she was at a complete loss for words.
"I have my methods. Want a bite?" Stella asked, as then extended out the fork to her. Anna was still trying to process this, but before she could respond, people could be heard talking as they made their way to the room.
"Oh no! It's Jill. Sorry, Ms. Yuno, but I must take my leave! Farwell and I hope you get better. Also, please don't tell Jill I was here. She's nagging me none stop about my sweets problem." She said, stuffing another piece of cake into her mouth. "Although she may have a point." Stella then jumped back into the ceiling and placed the panel back into place.
At that moment, three more people walked in. The first was Jill, the cyborg doctor. The next two were unfamiliar faces. This first was another Huntress. She wore a bright-white jacket that was red on the back, with the image of Phoenix on the back, along with black pants and black combat shoes. Her brown hair was tied up into a pony tail, and she also had red eyes. The second was a male, and he wore a similar outfit to the female, but instead, his jacket was black and blue on the back, with the depiction of a Pegasus on the back, and wore light-tan pants and combat shoes. His blonde hair was an edge cut, and he had blue eyes. What Anna noticed about the two Hunters is that they both a special pistol-gun, holstered on their waists.
Jill then noticed that Anna. "Ah, Ms. Yuno. I've seen that you've recovered." She said, as she then turned to the two Huntsmen. Aina, West. Is it okay if you wait here for a moment? I need to go let her friends know that Ms. Yuno has awakened." She said.
"I can wait all day." Aina said.
West only gave a shrug. "Go do your thing, and we'll do our thing." He said.
Jill only smile and nodded as she headed out the door. The two huntresses then turned their attention towards Anna, and waved politely at her.
"H-hello. I'm Anna." Anna said, as she waved back.
"Nice to meet you, Anna. I'm Aina, and this is my partner, West." Aina said.
"Heya." West said.
Anna only gave a light smile as the two gave out nice vibes. "So, what kind of Huntsmen are you?" she asked.
"We're a special ops unit." Aina said.
"It means we're sent out on dangerous missions, and fire guns ablaze across the battlefield!" West said.
"That sounds interesting. What kind of missions do you do?" Anna asked.
"Man. Where do we even begin?" West said.
"How about that missile story?" Aina asked, enthusiastically.
"We can't start with that! If we do, all the other stories will sound boring in comparison." West said.
"Hmm. Good point. How about that one time with the Motorcycles and those evil magicians?" Aina suggested.
"No. Even better. The Rave Party." West said.
"Oh, ho ho ho ho. This why I like you, West. You keep thinking big and creative." Aina said, giving him finger guns.
"What can I say? I have a wild imagination." West said.
"Then it's settled." Aina said. The Huntsmen then turned around to Anna and were about to tell Anna their story. "So, it all started with a crazy bouncer…" however, she didn't had time to finish as a red blur then burst through the door. Anna then saw the blur was making its way towards her and let out a scream as she braced for impact.
Anna then found herself being crushed in the embrace of Ruby's arms, who had tears streaming down her face. "Oh my gosh, Anna! You had us worried sick! Don't ever scare us like that ever again!" Ruby shouted, with tears of joy.
Before Anna could reply, cyborg arm stretched out and yanked Ruby by the hood. Ruby was then turned around as she saw Jill with a menacing look on her face, as well as a red glowing eye. "What did I say about touching my patients?" she asked in a cold tone.
"It's unauthorized until the doctor says so! I'm so sorry!" Ruby quickly said. Weiss, Blake and Yang had just arrived and saw what happened.
Jill only let out a sigh. "You can interact with her. But don't be to rough with her. Her body still needs to recover." She said, as let go of Ruby. Yang only patted Jill on the back as way of saying she was sorry for how Ruby was acting.
"Um…Jill. Is it okay if we continue with our business? West and I still need to do that mission today." Aina said, while West gave an aggressive nod.
"Oh! Of course. Completely slipped my mind." Jill said. She then turned to team RWBY. "I'll give the five of you some time alone. I'll come back with a diagnostic when I get back." Jill said, as she, Aina and West left the room.
The moment that Jill let go of Ruby, the leader of team RWBY immediately dashed over to Anna's bed, remembering Jill's words. Everyone else then went over to where Anna was.
"Sorry about before, Anna. Are you still feeling alright? That Revenant with the swords landed a nasty strike on me, so I would assume you would be feeling a lot more pain, considering your body strength." Ruby said.
"In all honesty, my body is still hurting all over." Anna said.
"To be fair, your body is very fragile in comparison to our builds. Even Jaune has better endurance." Blake said.
"Was that last part really necessary?" Anna asked feeling a little insulted.
"You'll be fine, Anna. It could of have been a lot worst. I'm just glad we all made it out alive." Weiss said.
"You said it, Weiss. I would hate to think what would've happened if we were captured." Yang said.
"So, how did we make it out after I, lost? My memory is a bit hazy." Anna said.
"You can thank Ethan and Igknights for getting us out of the mess. They came in as soon as you passed out." Blake said.
"He also had two cool fire blades! They looked so amazing!" Ruby said, and began to geek out just by thinking of them.
"Really? I guess we owe them one now. So, where are they right now?" Anna asked.
"They went back to their base to heal up. Ethan also said he had to take care of something. He also told us to give you this." Yang said. She then reached into her pocket and pulled out a card and gave it to Anna.
Upon further inspection, it was one of those "Get well Soon" cards that you buy at your local shopping market. Upon opening it, there was a note scribble in it. "Hey, Annie. Don't expect me to save your butt all the time. Get well soon. Best regards, Ethan." Furthermore, there were also signatures from Crusader, Lancer, Templar, Lu and a Kuriboh Paw print. Cavalier also signed it but add something of her own. "See you around, Ice Cream." This caused Weiss to feel slightly annoyed, and Anna felt the same as Ethan addressed her as Annie again.
"Let it go, Anna. It's not worth the energy." Ruby said.
"I know, but it's still so annoying when he calls me that." Anna said, pouting.
Weiss then came over and place her left hand on Anna's shoulder. "You get used to it. Sort of." she replied with a sympathizing look.
Ruby then nudged Yang and gave her a look of concern. Yang immediately knew what she said. Yang then knelt down next to the bed and took a deep breath. "Hey, Anna. Do you anything else after you passed out?" she asked.
"Not really. All I remember was losing the match." Anna said. She only looked down and gave out a light scoff. "Heh. I didn't just lose, I was crushed." She thought to herself.
"Are you sure you don't remember anything else?" Yang asked.
"Uh…no. I don't." Anna said, slightly confused.
"You sure?"
"Positive."
"Not even the slightest?"
"Nope. Not at all."
"Are you really…." Yang was about to say, but was then given a light punched to the arm by her sister.
"Yang! Just spit it out already!" Ruby said.
"Ok, ok! I'll get to it!" Yang said. She then gave herself a couple slaps to her cheek, and took a deep breath. "The Revenants were about to disintegrate us while we were escaping, and then your body began to glow like a lightbulb, and emitted a pulse of energy giving us enough time to escape." She said quickly.
Anna had a confused look on her face, and she didn't really know how to respond to that. "Uuuuhhhhh. Did you hit your head while we were escaping?" Anna asked.
Weiss then leaned over to Ruby. "Ruby. What in the world is your sister talking about?" she asked, who just as confused as Anna.
"Oh, that's right. You were unconscious at the time when I was carrying you out. To make a long story short, Anna's body was lit up, and sent the Revenants flying into the sky." Ruby said.
Weiss only gave a concern look at their leader, wondering if she was right in the head. "Blake. Is this really true?" she asked.
"I had a hard time swallowing it as well, but Ethan, Cavalier, Lu and that Kuriboh saw it too. And they would never joke about something like this. We talked about it on the airship." Blake said.
"I'll just take your word for it." Weiss said.
"Yang. I seriously have no idea what you're talking about. I'm drawing a bunch of blanks." Anna replied.
Yang thought about it as she then sat on the floor with her arms crossed and with a thinking face. While she did that, Ruby tried asking it from a different approach. "Ok, Anna. Since Yang and I saw it, you don't have to try and remember it for now. Instead, did you feel different when you were unconscious? Did you have any strange dreams or messages? I heard that's a common thing in this world." Ruby said.
"And where exactly did you hear that?" Weiss asked.
"From Neos. He called me a while ago, and I told him what happened. He said that a rare handful of duelists tend to hide secrets that they don't even know about. I heard that there was one guy, who split into five different people, and the crazy part was that he was an Evil Dragon King!" Ruby said.
"That sounds, a bit extreme. Aside that, did you feel different, Anna?" Blake asked.
Anna was about to say that she didn't know, but she couldn't. "Actually. I think I did feel something." She said, as her friends leaned in closer. "Desperation, fear. Maybe even anger. To be honest, I think did hear voices in my head, and it wouldn't have been the first time." she said.
"Wait, wait, wait! You mean to tell me you've had an actually person living in your head?" Yang asked.
"I'm not sure really. She only speaks to me briefly, and then goes away when I'm about to wake up." Anna said.
"Great. Just what we need. Another mystery to solve, alongside those Revenants and Grimm freezing our home, and whatever this Dark Dust does. Well, at least we have that Light Dust that we got from Kirin." Weiss said.
Anna and Ruby then exchanged glances at each other and chuckled a little. "Hey, bestie. About that…" Ruby said.
(One Explanation Later)
"WHAT!? YOU FELL DOWN, AND DUST CRSTYAL SHATTERED WHEN IT FELL OUT OF YOUR POCKET!? AND YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS, ANNA!?" Weiss yelled, seething with rage.
"We're sorry!" Ruby said, as she and Anna holding on to each other scared for their life.
"We didn't want to saying anything about because we didn't want to make you feel anymore stressed back in Remnant!" Anna quickly said.
Weiss only let out a frustrated grow, as she then turned away and crossed her arms. "Ah, whatever! I've got better things to do than to get mad at you!" she said. Ruby and Anna then let out a deep sigh. "However, I expect the both of you work twice as hard to make up for it. Do I make myself clear?" she asked in an authoritative tone.
"Yes ma'am!" Ruby and Anna said. Anna winced a little as she felt a little bit of pain.
Weiss only let out a deep sigh as she grabbed a nearby chair and sat down to clear her head with everything that's been going on. Blake then decided to dig in deeper with the whole voice topic. "So, Anna. How long have you been hearing this voice?" Blake asked.
"Not to long ago. It started on the day after I met Ruby. Funny thing, I think I also had a dream about you, Ruby." Anna said.
"Me? Why would you have a dream about me? We didn't even meet yet." Ruby said.
"I don't know. But in the dream, you looked like you were asking for help. Did Neos do something to send me an image of you to my head?" Anna asked.
"Nope. All he did was sent us through a portal, and accidentally made us tiny." Ruby said.
Weiss was about to retort about the tiny part, but Yang pressed her right index finger on her lips, and shook her head. "Just get over it." she said, causing the heiress to scoff just a little.
"Well, in the dream, you were holding out your hand to me, asking me for help. After that, I got more dreams of a woman, who I think is giving me the blank cards. Based on what you've said today, I wonder if that dream-lady is somehow connected to everything. The Grimm, the Revenants, and even the Dark Dust. Uggh! This is giving me a headache." Anna said, as she was trying to process everything.
Ruby then placed her hand on Anna's left shoulder and gave a comforting smile. "It's fine, Anna. You don't have to know all the answers immediately. When the time comes, then we'll worry about it. For now, lets just celebrate not being dead." She said.
Yang then came in from behind and wrapped her right arm around Ruby's neck. "Aw. Look at you. Acting so mature. What did you do with my real sister?" Yang said, in a joking matter and then proceeded to ruffle her hair.
"Quit it! A little help here, Weiss!?" Ruby yelled, trying to break free of her sister's grasp.
"I would prefer to watch. This is rather amusing." Weiss said, as a sly smile appeared on her face.
"Have you no heart!?" Ruby shouted as tears streamed down her face. Blake on the other hand, just stood back and chuckled. Seeing team RWBY like this made Anna smile. However, that smile disappeared as she thought about Ethan's words from the card.
"Ethan won't always be there to save my sorry butt. We're only here because of him. I lost that Duel. That's all there is to it. I can't be weak. Never again." She thought to herself. Just then she saw a pocky stick floating in front of her face.
"Yo, kid. You feeling alright? You were spacing out a bit." Lalah asked.
"Uh…y-yeah. Totally cool." Anna quickly said, putting on a smile.
"Hmmm. Eh. If it floats your boat, keep on sailing. Anyways, I think Jill is about to arrive, so I suggest that you tell your friends to quiet down. She's not really fond of loud noises." Lalah said, taking another bite out of her snack.
"H-how do you that?" Anna asked.
"I have good senses. I can feel her footsteps, along with two more. So, tell your friends to shut their yaps. Otherwise Jill won't be happy. You won't like her when she's not happy." Lalah said. She then lay down on her bed and closed her eyes to rest.
Anna then alerted her friends to be quiet, with Yang releasing Ruby from her grip, and everyone standing upright, with straight faces. The door then opened as Jill then entered, followed by two more familiar faces. The first one was Neos. "What's up?" he asked.
The second one was a surprise. Pushing her way past Jill and Neos, was none other than Anna's sister, Victoria. "Anna!" she yelled, as she ran towards her sister and knelt next to the bed.
"Victoria!? What are you doing here?" Anna asked, surprised to see her sibling.
"Neos called me, and told me what happened. Is it true that you lost a duel and almost died!?" Victoria asked. Anna only tilted her head, and nodded.
"Oh dear. Are you feeling okay? Any internal bleeding? Head trauma?" Victoria asked, worried.
Jill only rolled her eyes and extended her robotic hand outward and pulled Victoria back. "Pardon me, but I'll start giving out her diagnostics. Rest assure, she isn't in critical health or on the verge of death." She said. Victoria was silent for a moment, but immediately brushed her clothes and readjusted her glasses and gave the go ahead for Jill to examine her sister.
"Alright, Anna. Your body has taken spirit-based damage before, so you built a small resistance against it. However, the amount of damage you've received from the so-called Revenants was greater than what the Grimm could have dished out. Also, the last attack that finished you off was a dimensional slash-based attack. Basically, your standard samurai delay attack. They leave nasty marks. Fortunately for you, the dimensional cuts weren't too deep. You do have a couple of bruises on your body, but on the bright side, all of your organs are still functioning with no problems whatsoever. The brain is also intact, with no signs of permanent damage. Your chest may feel sore for a couple of days, so I suggest that you don't do anything too excessive. Furthermore, I advise you to avoid any form of Holographic dueling. Even with Shock-Level C damage, your body requires rest." Jill said in a stern tone.
"No dueling? For real?" Anna asked, sounding disappointed.
"Don't argue with me Ms. Yuno. You're not a superhero with regenerating powers. Only a fifteen-year-old girl, in a fragile teenager body. Personally, I think you need more exercise." Jill said, causing Anna to look away with a frown on her face.
"Hey! That's what we've been saying!" Ruby said cheerfully.
"Exactly! Also, don't argue with me, Ms. Yuno. If you want to duel somebody, do it on a tabletop, or one of those old dueling fields. You do understand this is for your own good." Jill said.
"But what happens if I get, you know, attacked?" Anna asked.
"If worst comes to shove, here take these." Jill said. She reached into her coat and pulled out a pill bottle and gave it to Anna. "They're pain killers for our Huntresses who still need to complete their jobs. Only take them if necessary. Other than that, I suggest you try and avoid any conflict. Doctor's orders." Jill said.
"Yes ma'am." Anna said softly. She then turned to Victoria. "Vic. What are we going to tell mom and dad?" she asked.
Victoria let out a sigh as she thought about it. "I'll just tell them that your Duel Board's wheels locked up, and caused you to tumble and fall. I'm just glad that you're still alive." Victoria said.
"Hear, hear. By the way, I've brought something that might cheer you all up." Neos said.
"Really? What is it?" Ruby asked.
"It should be arriving right now." Neos said.
There was then a knock at the door, as Jill then went over to open it up. There stood Smite, the Magma Hunter HERO wearing a mailman hat. "Delivery for team RWBY plus Anna." He said.
"And here I thought my pride couldn't take any more damage than it already has." Anna thought to herself.
Neos then walked over and Smite handed over a tube-shaped package. After signing a clipboard, he then unscrewed the cap, turned it upside down and began shaking it. But nothing came out. "Hmmm. Must be stuck. One moment please." He said. Neos then began pounding at the back of the tube with all of his might, but nothing came out. Frustrated, he took a deep breath. "You might want to stand back for this." Neos said.
Everyone did as Neos told, and watched as Neos began to focus. He then threw up the tube in the air and concentrated all of his energy into his right hand. "WRATH OF NEOS!" He then struck the package with all of his might, causing a small explosion of wind to echo throughout the room, which even woke up Lalah. The package then shattered into pieces, as black blur came flying out and tackled Blake.
Everyone then turned their attention towards Blake, who was in a daze, and saw something licking her face. It was black and white corgi, which then proceeded to sniff her. It then turned around to see more people leaning in, as it then barked.
Ruby, Yang and Weiss yet out joyful cheers, while Victoria and Anna let out shocked yelps. Smite and Jill just stared confused on what was going on.
"Zwei!" Ruby shouted.
"You sent a dog through the mail!?" Victoria shouted, shocked of what she saw.
"And then proceeded to use your strongest attacks on the package that he was in!?" Anna shouted in turn. Meanwhile, Ruby immediately scooped up Zwei, as the corgi began licking her in return. Yang began petting him, while Weiss waited patiently for her turn.
"Trust me. If it were up to me, I would of have someone bring him here personally. However, we HEROES are quite busy with our HERO work. So, Zwei talked to Black Panther, and told him that we could mail him. Also, I used only a fraction of my power, so there was no risk of harming Zwei.
"Still! Mailing a dog defies all possible means of physics and biology!" Victoria said.
"You created a meatloaf monster." Anna retorted.
Victoria thought about it for a moment. "Fair point."
"Oh my gosh, Zwei! Who's been a good boy? Who's a good boy?" Ruby said, as she then let Zwei down onto the ground.
Blake then snapped out of her daze, and then sat up. The first thing she saw was Zwei running towards her, ready to snuggle. Blake then let out a hiss and jumped off the ground and onto Anna's bed. "Z-Zwei!? Is this a bad dream?" she asked.
"Nope. It's a dream come true." Weiss said. Ruby then handed Zwei over to Weiss, for her turn. "Aw, aren't you a cutie? Come here, Zwei. We're going to have so much fun." Weiss said, as she began talking in a baby talk.
Anna then stared at Blake who was ready to jump off at any second. "Blake. Are you scared of dogs?" she asked.
"M-maybe. But not because I'm a Cat Faunus!" Blake replied. Weiss then placed Zwei on the ground and he began running around the room, taking noticed of everyone else in the room.
He then sprinted towards Lalah, and jumped on the bed and began sniffing her. "Huh. You're a neat looking fella. Reminds me of a little puppy I used to have." She said.
Zwei then ran all the way over to Smite, and was confused. He then began sniffing him, trying to figure out what he was. Smite then realized he still had more deliveries to make, as he then bid farewell. Zwei then looked at Jill and began barking at her. "Hm. I guess I smell funny to him." She said.
Ruby then immediately picked up Zwei, and brought her closer to Anna. Blake then jumped off the bed, to the farthest point in the room. "Zwei. Meet Anna. Our newest addition to our team." She said, placing Zwei on Anna's lap.
"Hi." Anna said, as she began petting Zwei. He seemed to like that as he then curled up and began resting on her lap, after letting out a yawn. "I guess we're all a little bit tired after today." She said, while continuing to pet Zwei's back.
"Thank you so much, Neos! This is the type of cheering up we need. Doggies make everything better, especially our little Zwei." Yang said, shaking Neos hand.
"Ah, don't mention it. I'm just glad I could help." Neos said. Suddenly, his eyes lit up as he was receiving a telepathic message. "Pathfinder? What's wrong?...A gigantic meteor shower is heading towards Hero City!? And another Evil Space King is causing it! I'll be there asap. Have Ground Mole meet me there so we can Fuse!" Neos said, as the glow in his eyes disappeared. "I would love to stay and chat, duty calls." He said, as he bowed apologetically.
"Ah, no worries! You're a Superhero. It's great that you do stuff like this! Now go kick butt!" Ruby said.
"I will. Now if you would stand back please." Everyone then backed away, as Neos then crouched down. He then turned into a bright ray, and flew into the air, while phasing through the roof, flying at the speed of light towards his destination.
Jill was glad that the roof didn't get destroyed, and then turned to Victoria. "Victoria. Would you mind having your sister stay here overnight? I still need to perform some tests on her. Just standard procedures." She said.
"Absolutely. Is it okay if I stay here as well?" Victoria asked.
"Of course. I'll call someone over to take you to the guest room. That's where team RWBY will be staying as well." Jill said.
"What about Zwei? You got a place for dogs here?" Yang asked, as she picked up Zwei, who was sleeping.
"Unfortunately, no. However, he can stay with you in the guest room. Just to let you know, any accidents he causes or makes is your responsibility." Jill said, in a stern tone.
"Don't worry about it, Jill. Zwei was well trained by our dad, and us!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Beacon told us the exact same thing. We've had experience in dealing with Zwei's incidents. But they are worth the effort to keep this adorable little fella." Weiss said. She then immediately pat Zwei on the head, and cooed of how adorable he looked.
Blake didn't say anything, as she kept her distance. "Come on, Blake. You've lived with Zwei for a while. You should use to it by now." She thought to herself. Blake then looked at Zwei, just as he woke up momentarily and began panting, followed with a soft bark. This caused Blake to react, as she then jumped into the air and landed on Anna's bed, on both her hands and feet.
Anna only stared at Blake with deadpanned look. "Should I be expecting you to act like this when Zwei is around you?" she asked, causing Blake to blush out of embarrassment.
"I-I'll try to work on it. I managed to survive living with him before. Surely I can do it again." Blake said, trying to muster her courage.
"You make it sound like this is a life or death scenario." Anna said.
"Anna. Please stop talking. I'm not sure how much my mind and body can take." Blake pleaded.
Anna felt like saying more, but decided to keep her mouth shut. "Note to self. Never use Blake against Dog based Duel Monster cards, unless deemed necessary." She thought to herself.
"Come on, Ms. Belladonna. Let's give Anna some sleep. She needs her rest. Or shall I remove you from her presence's myself?" Jill asked, as her robotic arm stretched out, and her right eye glowed.
"Don't worry. I'll be right there." Blake said as she quickly rejoined the group, but in a position where Zwei was furthest away.
"Are you sure you'll be fine, Blake? If you want I could…" Ruby was about to say, but was immediately cut off.
"You don't have to do anything, Ruby. I was just a little shocked to see Zwei again. It'll take some time, but I'll manage. Just make sure he doesn't touch my stuff, please. I would really appreciate it." Blake said, while Ruby responded with a cheerful nod.
"See ya later, Anna! After you get some rest, we'll be back out there crushing Grimm, or Revenants!" Yang said.
"And we'll put you back on your exercise schedule. I've already planned all out when you've fully recovered, but for now, we'll stick to a lighter version of it due to your body's current condition." Weiss said.
"Aw, Weiss. You shouldn't have." Anna said in a kind tone. "You've really shouldn't have." She thought with dread.
"Take care, Anna. I see you tomorrow." Victoria said.
"See ya, Vic. Love you." Anna replied.
Victoria nodded in response, as the rest of Team RWBY said their farewells, leaving nothing but silence in the room. As she laid down on the bed, her head was overwhelmed with many questions. What are the Grimm planning on what to do with Remnant? Who are the Revenants? And what was the voice telling her? She had woken up recently, but she wanted to sleep and get the day over with. Problem was that she wasn't tired at all. She only let out a sigh, and try to recollect about the past events that have happened. However, the first memory she had was of Siren and the Revenants, and the attack that almost ended her. Anna shook her head side to side rapidly, and pushed it out of her mind.
"I'm fine. I'm fine. I just need to recover. That's all. I'll just win next time, and I better. Because I don't think I'll get a third chance, if lose again. I have to win. I can't let them down again. It's that simple." Anna thought to herself, as she tossed over on her side, and eventually she drifted off to sleep.
(Rodney's Laboratory)
During the last Duel of Anna vs. Siren and the Igknights vs Husk battle, Rodney was busy getting the encampment all set up, and had to manage the transport of a variety of equipment. After he finished, he reluctantly left the camp in the hands of the other Grimm that were staff there and returned to the original Grimm Base. There, he spent the rest of the day in his lab, working on his second biggest project, to aid the Grimm with their plans. In his lab, a variety of equipment was in the room, ranging from computers, to test tubes, microscopes, and other unknown forms of machinery. The most notable of the machines, was a cylinder-shaped device in the hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the room that had dark energy swirling within the glass. Below it, was a black pool of darkness, that had a 20 feet diameter. There were also metal shutters to close and open it, to adjust the size of the pool opening.
As for Rodney, he was working away on a tablet, and a computer at the same time. He was using special tools as well, that were filled with spirit energy, as they he continued to work vigorously on his project. The doors to the room then opened up as Hidou came running in, and stopped in place to catch his breath.
"Rodney! You're not going to believe what just happened!" Hidou exclaimed.
"Almost done. It's going to leave it's mark on this world." Rodney said to himself.
"Yo, Rodney! Are you even listening to me?" Hidou yelled.
"THIS WILL BE SO EXHILIRATING, THAT IT WILL MAKE THE WORLD BEND ON IT'S KNEES, if had any. GAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAH!" Rodney yelled, as he his laughter began to echo throughout the lab.
Hidou only rolled his eyes, seeing Rodney's crazy side, again. He then walked over, and grabbed a nearby airhorn. Plugging the ear that was closest to the horn, he gave the can a good shake, and pressed as hard he could. The loud blast of the horn, caused Rodney to fall sideways, and landed on the ground.
The rate Grimm rubbed his head, and looked up to see Hidou. "What was that for!?" he asked angrily.
"For being an ego maniac?" Hidou replied, while smirking. "Aside from your whacky experiments, you need to hear this."
"I'm afraid that will have to wait. I'm on the verge of something big!" Rodney said, as he went back to his desk.
"You say that every single day."
"Well this time, it's different." Rodney then put down his tools, and then picked up a Duel Monsters card. However, the other side of the card only showed the symbol of Grimm. Rodney then walked over to the black pool and threw the card into it. The card then sunk into the sludge, causing the liquid to violent move around. Hidou was curious of what Rodney was doing with a Duel Monsters card, and decided to see what will happen. Rodney then moved over to the other side of the lab, and pulled a level. Dark Energy within the mechanical tube hanging about the room began charging up, as it then fired a laser beam within the Black Pool. The whole room began to shake, as stuff began rolling off tables, and big items began to topple over. Rodney then turned off the device, and all was silent.
Suddenly, a claw emerged from the pool, and grasped the ledge for support. Three heads then merged from the pool. They all resembled the head of a blood hound, but more Grimm than animal, having the same red eyes. The middle head had a Dark Blue skull on its head. The head on the right, from the creature's perspective, wore a magenta skull, while the head on the left wore an orange colored skull. The black creature then lifted itself from the pool, revealing that all of the heads were attached to the same body. After fully emerging from the pool, Rodney and Hidou got a good look at the Grimm. The Grimm had a more humanoid appearance, but retain some animalistic parts, such as the claws on its hands and feet. It wore two armor harnesses around its body, which formed a cross and were linked together. Around its waist, was chain belt, with triangle armor pieces attached to it, which hung against its legs. On the arms and legs, it wore chain mail in the shape of spiral. What's more, the arm parts of the armor had a glow of aura around it. The right-side armor pieces were colored magenta, while the left-side was colored orange.
The three heads breathed heavily, as the eyes began looking all over the place, taking a moment to take in it's surroundings. The creature then shook its body, in the manner of a dog, to shake off the black liquid, causing it to fly all over to place, and on Rodney and Hidou. The Grimm then began sniffing the air with all it's heads, as it kept on looking around.
"Um…Rodney. What is that?" Hidou asked, pointing at the creature.
"That my friend is a Grimm-Spirit." Rodney replied proudly.
"Grimm-Spirit?" Hidou questioned.
"I'll tell you about it later. Right now, I need to do the debriefing with this big fella before he breaks something." Rodney then grabbed a nearby clipboard and approached the creature with caution.
"Excuse me. May I have your attention please?" Rodney asked. The creature's heads then turned to face Rodney and look down at him. He was slightly taller than him. "I would like to ask you some questions to make sure everything is in order. Would that be okay?"
"Speak now." The middle head said in deep, serious voice.
"We shall comply." The right head said, in a lighter, sadistic voice.
"BUT WE WILL WATCH YOU CLOSELY!" The left head said in an anger filled voiced.
"Fair enough. Question 1: Do you know what Grimm are?" Rodney asked.
The three-headed creature thought about it for a moment, and somehow, they knew the answer, despite being just born.
"We are humanity's worst enemy."
"Omens of disaster."
"BRINGERS OF DEATH, DESTRUCTION AND DESPAIR!"
"Good to know. Question 2: What's your name?"
"We are known…"
"…as the mighty…"
"…MARTIAL CERBERUS!"
"Hm. That's a neat name. How about we call you Martial for short?" Martial then nodded as he was fine with it. "Question 3: Do you know what you were made for?" Rodney asked.
"To aid in the destruction of Remnant."
"Lay it all to waste."
"AND LEAVE NOTHING BUT ASHES, AND OUR ENEIMES CORPSES!"
"Very good. A bit extreme, but still good. Now then, if you would make your way over here." Rodney said. He then led Martial to portal device and activated it, creating a purple rift within. "Feel free to get acquainted with the other Grimm-Spirits. You'll be working together with them in the future." He said.
Martial only nodded as he shook Rodney's hand as a sign of thanks. He then entered the portal, as Rodney then shut it off.
Hidou then walked up to Rodney with a dumbstruck face. "What. The heck. Is going on here!?" he asked.
"Well, since I'm done with the seminar, I guess I can answer your questions. You might want to pull up a seat. This is a lengthy explanation." Rodney said.
Hidou only squinted his eyes, and stared at Rodney. He then grabbed a nearby stool, and sat on it.
Rodney then took a deep breath, preparing his vocal cords to talk for an extended period of time. "Ok. Back on Remnant, there's this story about these two gods, a light bro and a dark bro. The light bro liked creating stuff, and but the dark bro liked creating Grimm to destroy light bro's stuff. The brothers were unhappy with each other, so they decided to create humans as a sign of peace. But, did you know how dark bro created the first ever Grimm? Well, it was by using the pool of Grimm. Like that one over there." Rodney said, as he pointed to the pool were Martial came out from.
"In short, those pools are where all of the Grimm in the world come from. In addition, Grimm born from that sludge all have the same mind set, which is to kill everything."
"That I get, but where did you get the sludge in the first place?"
"I don't know really. It just came with all the lab equipment."
"That's sounds way too convenient."
"Ah shut it. Anyways, with all the lab equipment in this fine place here, I was able to examine the Grimm pool, and make some special modifications. Add a dash of spirit energy, thanks to the device that's hanging from this room, along with a little bit of scientific ingenuity and presto. I have created a way to create Grimm-Spirits to aid our troops. All it takes is a little bit DNA-splicing, biology-tech, and a bit of magical elements in order to create the Grimm-Spirits. Plus, I've been doing sketch drawings of what the Grimm would look like." Rodney said. He then took out a sketch book, and flipped to a page depicting the same Cerberus that emerge from the pool.
"That's cool and all, but why do you call them Grimm Spirits?" Hidou asked.
"Boy, you're slow. I think it's best if I show you. Follow me." Rodney said, leading Hidou out of the lab.
After walking for a while, they came across a storage room area, with a large metal mechanical door. Rodney then walked up to a passcode device, and inputted, a 5-digit code, and then did a hand scan on a nearby panel. Sound of metal gears could be heard turning, and multiple locks being unlocked. The doors then moved to the sides. The lights within automatically turned on, illuminating the area. Hidou's eyes widen, as his jaw hanged, stunned from what he was seeing.
"Holy fish mackerel." Hidou said.
"Impressed? I present to you! Grimm Duel Monster cards." Rodney said, as he extended his hand forward to the storage room. Within the room, thousands of cards lined up against the wall, all depicting a certain Grimm that Hidou has never seen before.
"You made all these cards? Spells and traps too?" Hidou asked, baffled.
"Uh huh. Thanks to the DNA samples you guys got me, I was able to create who another type of monster. Grimm monsters. It took a couple of days, a 2-hour sleep routine every day, and diet of canned microwave food. I also had to work on the Phantom, which made it take a little bit longer, but it was worth it. Furthermore, the stronger spirits that I've created can take on a physical form, and duel by themselves. Like the Cerberus." Rodney said proud of his work.
"Rodney. You can be crazy and unstable at times. But this…this is badass." Hidou said.
"Why thank you. I'm honored to receive such praise."
"Don't let it go to your head. So, when are we getting our cards?" Hidou asked.
"That's the complicated part. Everyone here grew accustomed to their own decks. Linda on one hand loves her Fortune Lady deck, so, I doubt that she'll be switching decks soon. On the other hand, I tried my best to make the Extra Deck Grimm monster generic, meaning compatible with most decks. Like the 39-dude." Rodney said.
"You mean Utopia?" Hidou asked.
"No that's not it. I think the name was Kibo Hope." Rodney.
"Really? I always thought it was Utopia." Hidou said.
"It's debatable. As for the distribution of cards, it entirely up to whether our friends want to use them or not. Either way, I'm cool with. The Grimm Spirits already use the other created cards, so everything is fine. Now if you would excuse me, I'm going to bed. I'm all tuckered out." Rodney then closed the gates, as he then stumbled to the lab, where his futon was, leaving Hidou by himself.
"Hmmmmmm. Was I supposed to do something a while ago?" Hidou thought about it for a moment, but gave up in the end as he shrugged. "Oh well. I'm sure it's nothing too important." He said, and proceeded to walk to his room to get some shut eye as well.
(The Following Day: Grimm Base)
A new day has come. Most of the Grimm had return to their regular duties. Rodney on the other hand was in his lad, and Martial Cerberus was there with him. The two of them were in the room and were having another seminar.
"Alright bud. So, do you how to play Duel Monsters?" Rodney asked.
"Yes. The other Grimm-Spirits taught us well, although I had some knowledge of the game in my head. The standard rules and all."
"BUT NOW WE HAVE MASTER A VARIETY OF COMBOS WITH MUTLIPLE CARDS!"
"Yes, yes, yes. Oh, by the way, why does that head always scream?" Rodney asked.
"Each of our heads represents a certain aspect of our fighting style. I represent Focus and Concentration."
"I represent a quick and flowing combat style."
"AND I REPRESENT BRUTE FORCE, WHICH IS WHY I KEEP YELLING ALL THE TIME!"
"But still, I'm confused of how we have combat knowledge in our heads, despite being a day old. Why is that?" the middle head asked.
"It's actually really simple. The Black Pool of Grimm gives Grimm their identity, blessing them with animal intelligence and strength. It's like how a factory creates a machine, and the machine knows exactly what to do. In your case, I've designed the concept of how you would operate, how you fight, and I also contribute to your design. Although, your body took form on itself." Rodney said.
"I see. Thank you for blessing us with the gift of life. We shall treasure this gift." The second head said.
'TO DESTROY EVERYTHING THAT STANDS IN OUR WAY!" the third head screamed.
Just then, Liege then walked into the room. "Ah, hello Rodney. Is this the so-called Grimm-Spirit I've been hearing about lately?" he asked.
"Yes. One of many. I've already sent out tons of cards to multiple bases. Now our forces now have the strengths of Grimm and Spirit combined." Rodney said.
"That's is music to my ears, Rodney. However, I came here to tell you that I'm holding a gathering in Remnant, and I'm having every Grimm listen to it. Especially after our recent success." Liege said.
"And what might that be?"
"Didn't Hidou tell you last night?"
"Aaaaahhhhhhhh, nope."
"Of course, he didn't. I shouldn't be really surprised."
(One Explanation Later)
"WWWWWHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT!? SIREN BEAT THE HUNTRESSES!? Are you pulling my leg?" Rodney asked.
"Believe me. I still can't believe it. But ask Shinrai if you still don't believe me. He saw the whole thing, and he always gives a straight answer." Liege said.
Rodney was shocked after hearing the news. He slumped back into his chair, and wiped his forehead, taking a moment to process all of the new information. "Well I'll be damned. Should I be concerned or thrilled? That answer may sound like an easy one to answer, but I'm just saying. It feels too good to be true." He said.
"I know the feeling. However, we have to take every opportunity that we can get. Any advantage is favorable for us. Well, I'll be seeing in a bit while, Rodney. Feel free to write a speech on your recent breakthroughs." Liege said walking away.
Rodney sat back up in his chair and took a deep breath to take it all in. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head, and a devilish grin formed on his face. "Hey, Liege." Liege stopped walking and turned around to hear what Rodney had to say. "I was wondering. Now that Anna, and her pals are, wounded, would it be alright if I can have this big boy over here land the killing blow? If you ask me, this would be the perfect opportunity to test run our Grimm cards, on such a poor, miserable Duelist." He said patting Martial on the shoulder.
Liege thought about it. Normally, he would just leave Anna Yuno alone, since he had to focus all of the resources onto their plans for destroying all of humanity on Remnant. However, Rodney did have a point. Anna, in his mind, had to be weak in both mind and body after her loss. Plus, he was feeling a little bit sinister himself.
"You make a good argument, Rodney." He then turned to Martial. "So, what do you say tough guy? Are you in the mood to destroy?" he asked.
"I accept this request."
"It'll be a most delightful experience."
"DEATH TO ANNA YUNO!"
"How delightful." Rodney said sinisterly.
"Yes. How devilishly malicious." Liege said.
Soon, the two Grimm began laughing manically as their inner urge to destroy was showing. Martial on the other hand didn't know what was going on, and was confused by their laughter.
"I don't get it."
"Yes. It's puzzles me so."
"THEIR LAUGHTER MAKES NO SENSE!"
(Jewel City: Crystal Plaza)
The Crystal Plaza is one of Jewel City's famous sites to visit. Mostly for the many jewelry embedded clothing, and other forms of artwork, such as paintings. The plaza also had a variety of stores, ranging from videogames, toys, cooking, computers, Duel Monster related items, and even a Duel Runner repair shop. It was also a good place to get a bite, as it had a variety of restaurants to choose from. One of the restaurants was Leo's Pizzeria, and that's where Anna, team RWBY and Victoria were eating. Earlier that day, Jill said that Anna was in good condition to leave the medical bay, but was told to be careful with her body. Victoria then decided to take her sister out to eat, as a treat. Team RWBY was reverted to their miniature forms. As for Zwei, he actually stayed the same size. For the record, team RWBY are the size of toddlers in tuner form. Zwei at first was a bit surprised at his masters' sudden change in size, but he immediately got used to it.
Victoria ordered two standard cheese pizzas, and they sat in the farthest corner, where no one would notice any disappearing pizza.
"The pizza sure does taste good here. Don't you agree, sis?" Victoria said.
"Yeah. Sure does." Anna replied, as she continued to munch on her slice.
Victoria, only chuckled awkwardly, trying to figure out what to say next.
"Hey, Vic. Thank you for taking me out to eat." Anna replied.
"It's no bother. I mean, after what happened yesterday, I figure that spending some time together might help, you know, boost your morale." Victoria said.
"I appreciate it. I guess I do feel a little bit better." Anna said, forcing herself to smile.
Victoria smiled as well, but on the inside, she was worried sick. Last night, team RWBY told her all about the Revenants, and then her dreams became even more vivid. She knew she would have to tell Anna about it eventually, but it wasn't really the best time to talk about it.
"The cheese is nice and gooey. Wouldn't you agree, Weiss?" Ruby asked. However, she had a blank look on her face to see Weiss using a knife and fork to eat the pizza.
"What?" Weiss asked. Ruby only turned her head forward, questioning what she saw. Weiss only shrugged as she went back to eating her slice in an elegant manner.
"Hey, Blake. Can you pass me another slice, please?" Yang asked, as she was already eating two slices at the same time.
"Are you sure you're not eating too much?" Blake asked.
"Come on, Blake. It's been so long since I've eating a nice pie. Let me cherish the moment while it lasts." Yang said, as she then devoured the slice in her right hand, and immediately took a bite out of the one in her left, while picking up the slice on her plate.
"Such a small body, but somehow she still has the same large appetite. Must be the metabolism." Blake thought to herself, taking a bite out of her slice.
"Arf!" Blake then looked down to see Zwei, looking up at her, panting as usual. Blake only turned away and tried to ignore him. She was slowly getting used to seeing Zwei again, up to the point where she can tolerate him.
Anna only munched on her slice, without saying anything, and tried to enjoy the taste. She then let out a long and loud yawn, but she made sure to cover her mouth.
"Hard time sleeping last night?" Ruby asked.
"I did wake up late at night, so going to back to bed was a bit tough." Anna said.
"Is that so? Well, Lalah told us you were tossing and sweating in your bed, and muttering." Weiss said.
"D-did she? I guess I was a bit stuffy last night." Anna said, chuckling.
"Anna. Are you sure you're okay?" Blake asked.
"I'm fine, Blake. You girls don't have to worry about me." Anna said.
"Whatever you say, girl. Just to let you know, if something is bothering you, you're always welcome to talk to us about it. There's no shame in asking for help." Yang said.
"I appreciate it, Yang. But like I said: I'm fine. Muy bien. Jolly as I can be." Anna said as she took a bite out of her slice aggressively, and decided to change the topic before her friends could press her even further. "By the way, V. Why did you decided to go out for pizza today? I'm just curious, since this is something you don't feel like eating most of the time." Anna asked.
"Let's just say an, acquaintance of mine made me think about pizza yesterday. I would prefer not to talk about it." Victoria said. It didn't go unnoticed to Anna, but she noticed that her sister seemed annoyed when she brought up this friend of hers.
Victoria slapped her checks a couple of times to get whatever she was thinking of out of her head. She then wiped them with a napkin, since her hands were covered in grease. Afterwards, she reached into her pocket to find her wallet. However, it wasn't there. She immediately checked her other pocket, then the last pocket again. After that, she began patting her entire body, and then her purse.
"Oh crap! I think I left my wallet in the car! Anna, wait right here until I come back!" Victoria said.
"Ok, Vic. I'll wait." Anna replied. Victoria nodded as a response, as she then dashed outside, and ran as fast as she could to her car.
Anna smiled because she was glad to have a sister that cared so much about her, but her smile faded. "Looks like I've got another reason to win." She thought to herself.
Just then, the door then opened as another man, wearing the establishment's uniform, walked in, and sat in the booth closest to the protagonists' booth. A waiter, dressed in a red uniform with frilly orange hair, and green eyes then walked over and smiled. "Good news. That was the last delivery for you. Phillis just came in, so you can go home now. And let me guess. The Fudge Sunday Delight?" she asked.
The man only nodded, as the waiter smiled and walked away. Zwei then sniffed the air and then began barking loudly. He then ran off to the man's booth, and stood on his hind legs, and began pawing at his leg.
"Zwei! Get back! You can't just do that to strangers!" Ruby shouted as she tried to pulled Zwei back.
She then noticed that the man was looking down at her. Getting a better look at the Pizza Delivery Man. He was a young man, who appeared to be around his twenties, with pale skin. Right now, he was wearing the uniform, which consisted of a Red Shirt, Dark Gray Pants and Black shoes. He had two yellow eyes, and short-thick black hair that brushed all the way down to his neck, but there were also hints of orange hair underneath. The sides of his hair also seem to bulge upward, just a little. His yellow eyes stared at Ruby, almost piercing them, while Zwei seemed to take a liking to the man. The man then turned around and faced Anna.
"Um…excuse me. Is this kid with you?" He asked, sounding confused.
Anna then looked around for a moment, before realizing the man was addressing her. "Oh, uh, yeah! She's with me." She stammered, while taking a sip of water to calm herself down.
"Okay. So, I guess that makes you the mom." He said in a calm manner.
After hearing that, Anna then spit her water out in shock, and almost soaked Weiss. Yang began laughing hysterically, while Blake gave her a deadpanned look.
"ANNA! Watch it!" Weiss yelled.
"S-sorry." Anna then turned to the man with an annoyed look. "Do I look like a mother to you? I'm only fifteen!" she exclaimed.
"I was just joking." He said, while turning back. At the same time, the waiter came back with his Fudge Sunday, and then left. "Ok, for real this time, what's your relationship with them? Babysitter? Older sister?" he asked.
"I'm their duelist. They're my spirits, and friends." Anna replied.
"Duelist? Spirts?" he said sounding confused. From the way he responded, it looked as he knew what those words meant. He then took a quick look at Ruby, who was still trying to pry Zwei off of his leg, and then at Weiss, Blake and Yang who was now laying down on the seat, still laughing. He then gave Anna a confused look.
"They're in their sealed forms. Trust me, they're very strong." Anna said.
"Ah. That makes sense." The man then looked back down at his leg to see Zwei still hanging on his leg. He then let out a soft chuckle and decided to humor the dog, by petting him. "A corgi. They're fun little dudes."
"I'm so sorry about, Zwei. He can get easily excited sometimes, whenever he around new people. You must have made a good impression on him." Ruby said.
"Nah. It's probably because I smell weird. A dog's nose is pretty powerful that they can actually use it to distinguish foe from friend." The man said.
Ruby chuckled at that last comment to try and ease tensions. "By the way, I'm Ruby Rose. What's your name?" she asked.
"River. River Sticks."
Ruby raised an eyebrow at that. "Sticks? That's your last name?"
"Ruby! Don't be rude. It's not polite to question a person's name, even if it does sound weird." Weiss exclaimed.
"S-sorry, River."
"It's fine. You're not the first one to say that. But hey, now that you know, maybe you can use me to play fetch with your dog. Eeeehhhhh? Eeeeeeehhhhhh?" River joked, as he nudged his elbow, while having a ridiculous smile on his face.
Ruby only had a deadpanned look on his face and then let out a sigh. Blake only faced-palmed, while Weiss tried to ignore it. "That was a really bad joke." Blake said
"Come one, Blake. Don't shoot the man down. He's hasn't gone, upstream yet." Yang said, as she too began smiling ridiculously.
"Please no." Weiss said, as she face-planted into the table.
"Hey, hey! The yellow one gets it! So, what are your names?" River asked, as he began taking bites out of his dessert.
"Weiss Schnee."
"Blake Belladonna."
"Yang Xiao Long."
"I'm Anna. Anna Yuno."
As soon as those words left Anna's mouth, River suddenly stopped eating, as he then pulled spoon out of his mouth slowly. He then turned around and stared at Anna with a puzzled look. "Your name is Anna Yuno?" he asked.
"Y-yes. Is something the matter?" she asked.
"Have we met before? Because I feel like I should know you." River said, as he began examining Anna more closely. A little bit too close, as he began leaning from his booth, and across the table.
Before things could get even more uncomfortable and weirder, a female voice screamed out. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Anna's eyes went wide as she recognized the voice. Team RWBY recognized it as well. It was Victoria's voice. She then immediately got off of her seat and ran out the door, with RWBY following in pursuit. River didn't seemed mind, as he went back to his seat and continued eating. "I better eat this thing fast. Otherwise I'll be late to the party." He said while smirking.
(Crystal Plaza Parking Lot: 5 Minutes Earlier)
Victoria right now was frantically searching her car for her wallet. The last thing she wanted was to deal with a fine. During her search, she failed to notice something approaching her from behind.
"Where is it? Where is it? Ah ha! I've finally found it! Now then, time to pay for that check." Victoria said. However, when she turned around to walk back to the group, the first thing she was a black humanoid Cerberus, wearing armor, and holding a piece of cloth in his hand.
The beast then slowly approached, as Victoria took several steps back, and dropped her wallet. Fear slowly began to consume her, hearing ever breath from each of the heads, and the sensing the amount of energy that radiated off of it. Martial then grabbed Victoria back the neck and pressed her up against the car.
"Your scent."
"It's similar to this cloth that we recovered from her previous defeat."
"ARE YOU ANNA YUNO!?"
Victoria was scarred out of her wits, but she then forced herself to retain a straight and stern attitude, and muster all of her courage. "Why does it matter to you?" she asked in a fearless manner.
"We are simply here to finish her off in a duel."
"To wipe her and the Huntresses from existence."
"ARE YOU ANNA YUNO OR NOT!? YOUR SCENT IS CONFUSING ME!"
Victoria only scoffed. "Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. Point is, I'm not in the mood to talk with a Grimm." She said.
"Is that so?"
"Then I guess…"
"…WE JUST AREN'T BEING PERSUASIVE ENOUGH!"
Martial then tighten the grip around Victoria's neck. "GIVE US AN ANSWER, NOW!" the third head shouted.
"So, *cough* sorry. I don't speak brute." Victoria replied.
Martial only growled even angrier, as his grip began to tighten. The second head, however realized something. "Wait a minute! I just remembered Rodney gave us a picture what she looked like." He said. The other two heads then looked over to the picture that they've just pulled out. True enough, it showed a picture of Anna on it. They then held up the picture next to Victoria's face. They then looked at the picture, then Victoria, then back to the picture, and they did this for a couple of times.
"That's definitely not her." All three heads said as the same time. Martial then resumed holding Victoria by the neck, and slowly tighten his grip.
"You're not Anna Yuno, but you are related to her." The second head spoke in a sly tone.
"WE DEMAND YOU TO TELL US WHERE TO FIND AND DEFEAT HER!"
"Over my dead body! Oh dear. I should've of chosen my words betters." Victoria thought.
"That can be arranged." The first head said in cold tone.
Martial's grip then got even tighter, causing Victoria to yell in pain, as she struggled to breath. "Come one, missy. You're only wasting our time." the second head said.
"TELL! US! NNNNOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!" the third head shouted.
"I'll never betray my sister!" Victoria shouted.
"How noble. I'll make sure to put that on your tombstone." The first head said.
Victoria could feel his grip tightening, as she continued to struggle to breath.
"HEY! LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE!"
Victoria opened her eyes, and glanced over Martial's shoulder to see Anna running in her direction. Martial then turned around and all three heads smirked.
"Looks like she came to us."
"You got lucky."
"YOU'RE NO LONGER USEFUL TO US!"
Martial then delivered a swift blow to Victoria's neck, causing her to fall unconscious and fall to the ground.
"VICTORIA!" Anna screamed in horror.
"Fear not, Anna."
"She is merely napping. Not permanently. You get what we're saying."
"I PREFER NOT TO HAVE ANY DISTRACTIONS!"
"That doesn't excuse for nearly choking her!" Yang yelled, as her irises turned red.
"We'll make sure that you'll pay!" Ruby shouted.
"You'll regret touching my sister, Grimm." Anna said, as she reached for deck.
Martial only walked away from Victoria's body, and circled Anna. "We were planning on dueling you from the start."
"But why not the raise the stakes? Should you lose…"
"…YOUR SISTER SHALL DIE AS WELL!"
"W-what?" Anna said, as she stepped back after hearing that.
Blake then hovered upward and was angry. "How despicable! Dragging in an innocent woman into your own agenda!" she shouted.
"It's more of a personal thing. She wasn't complying with us, even after we asked her numerous times." The second head said.
"Hmph. That isn't surprising at all, for a bunch of cowards." Weiss said, crossing her arms.
"I AM NOT A COWARD! A REAL COWARD WOULD KILL HER IF THEY WERE TO LOSE THE DUEL!"
"In addition, we prefer not to have any witnesses. Besides, all you have to do to save her, is to win. Sounds simple enough right? Than again, it is possible to beat you, as proven by Siren and the Revenants." The first head said.
"Besides. We aren't giving you a choice." The second head said.
Martial then pulled out a Darkness Barrier Cube, and crushed it, creating the familiar black dome to duel under.
"This place is just as lovely as I remembered it." Weiss retorted.
"Don't worry, Weiss. We'll win this! Right, Anna?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah. We will." Anna said.
It didn't go unnoticed from team RWBY. They sensed fear in Anna's voice. It's normal to feel scarred under these circumstances, but there was something missing from her voice.
"Are you going to be okay?" Yang asked.
"I'm fine. Yang. I'm fine." Anna replied. She then held her right wrist, as could feel it shaking.
Blake then hovered over next to Anna. "Anna. Don't push yourself. I know a lot is riding on this duel, but you need to…"
"I SAID I'M FINE!" Anna shouted, startling everyone. She then saw their faces, and regretted it. "Sorry. I didn't mean to…"
"It's fine, Anna. You didn't mean it. Just be careful." Blake said, accepting the apology.
Anna smiled, and took a deep breath. She then looked at her opponent, and noticed something was off. The Grimm seemed, different. Team RWBY could feel it as well, as this Grimm's aura was different. They didn't had time worry about right now, as of right now, both their lives and Victoria's were hanging on the line. Anna knew what was at stake, and that she could not lose, no matter what.
Slowly, she reached towards her deck box on her waist, and unclipped it. However, before she could pull it out, a loud crackling noise was heard. Everyone then immediately turned their heads to where the source the noise was, and saw black electricity flying off the side of the barrier. A crack then began to from where the electricity was, and began to widen, up to the point where it was the size of a doorway. Once the flashing died down, everyone saw someone standing in front of the crack, and the person proceeded to enter the dome. Anna and team RWBY immediately recognized who it was, but they couldn't believe it. It was River Sticks, and he was carrying an orange coat.
"So, this is where the party is being held." River said. He then turned to Martial. "And you must be the Host. I'm going to be honest with you, man. This party is kind of lame. No food. No drinks. And the worst of all, no music. You can't have a party without music."
Martial was surprised to see another human walk in the dome, without any resistance, but also so willingly. "Listen well human. This will be your only warning." The first head said in a demanding tone.
"Our business is not with you, but with Anna Yuno. Leave us at once!" the second head said, in an intimidating tone.
"YOU, WHO ARE POWERLESS, ARE NOT WORTHY TO FACE US IN A DUEL!" the third head scream.
River didn't really seem phased, and he appeared to not be taking this real seriously. "Whoa, ho, ho! Aren't you a stingy little pooch? Is your master not giving you enough doggy treats?" he said in a carefree attitude.
After that last statement, you couldn't blame Martial for being a little bit mad. "You, a mere weak mortal, dare insult me!?" The first head yelled.
"Know your place! We are Martial Cerberus! Our strength is not to be taken lightly!" The second head said.
"AND YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A FOWL SCENTED FILTHY HUMAN!" the third head yelled at the top of his lungs. River then proceeded to sniff his right arm, and then shrugged, as he didn't see the problem.
All three heads let out ferocious roars to intimidate River. However, River only seemed to be bothered by the wind the roar caused. "Easy there boy. Hey! I know what'll make you feel better. How about I take you out for a walk?" he then bended over and clapped his hands as if he were talking to a puppy. "Come on boy. Here boy. Let's go."
Anna and RWBY could not believe what they were seeing. This man had the nerve to mock a monster with three heads continuously, and not back down.
"Either he is incredibly brave, or incredibly stupid." Weiss said in a deadpanned tone.
"I going to go with the latter." Blake said.
"Hey, River! That's a Grimm! They're really dangerous! Just let us handle it! We're used to dealing with creeps like him!" Ruby shouted.
However, it was too late at this point. Martial was now furious at the way River was talking to him. All three heads we're now focused on a new objective. "You'll deeply regret this, human! If you think you can defeat us, think again. In this duel, we'll discrete your every move!" the first head said.
"Killing slowly in this duel is how we will conquer…" Second head spoke.
"…UNTIL YOU KNOW THE MEANING OF SUFFER!" the third head shouted. Martial then activated his Duel Disk, and inserted his deck.
River looked impressed. "Those last three lines you said. They sounded pretty good. Ever consider writing it as a song? I think it would be a good hit." he replied.
"Will you stop provoking the three-headed monster!? You're going to get yourself killed!" Yang shouted.
Martial roared in fury, as he then threw out a red line, which then wrapped around left arm. "This Duel Line makes it that only one of us will walk away as a victor.
"After we're finished with you…"
"…THE GIRL IS NEXT!"
River was silent for a moment, as he was mentally warming up. "Alright then. Let's start the party." He then took out his D-Tablet and threw it into the air. Then, using his right hand, he spun his orange coat around in circle in the air, and slipped it on smoothly. He then held up his right arm, allowing the D-Tablet to connect with it, and then took out a Duel Monsters deck, inserting it into the Duel Disk. River then began throwing out several punches into the air, and then got into a karate pose for extra flare. "C'mon!"
While that was happening, Anna and team RWBY used this opportunity to run over to Victoria and recover her body.
Both players then drew their cards and were ready to duke it out.
"DUEL!"
Turn 1: Martial Cerberus
River Sticks: 4000LP vs Martial Cerberus: 4000LP
River Sticks Hand: 5 vs Martial Cerberus Hand: 5
"I shall make the first move."
"I draw!"
"PREPARE TO WITNESS A NEW POWER NEVER SEEN BEFORE! BEHOLD, FOR WE SUMMON SABER BEOWOLF IN ATTACK MODE!"
Saber Beowolf

[ATK: 1700] [DEF: 1400]
The monster that appeared on the field, was a Beowolf, but different. This one wore silver chest plate armor, had metal leggings. and its lower left arm, had a prosthetic metal right arm, with three sharp claws. The Grimm, also wielded a standard double edge sword for fighting in its left hand, which was not metal. The Saber Beowolf then let out a howl, as it got into a lunging position, holding the sword over its left shoulder.
"I activate Saber Beowolf's effect! When he's Normal or Special Summoned, I can add one Level 4 or lower Grimm-Type monster from my deck to my hand." The first head said.
"I'll add Assassin Owl to my hand!"

[ATK: 1700] [DEF: 500]
"I SET TWO CARDS FACE-DOWN, AND END THE TURN!" The third head shouted.
Anna and team RWBY were stunned from what they just saw.
"Wait a minute. Did that Grimm just summoned another Grimm?" Ruby asked, hoping she was wrong.
"Your eyes aren't deceiving you, Ruby. That just happened. We all saw it." Anna said.
Yang was getting a bit frustrated. "Great! Just great! Not only do we have deal with Humanoid Grimm that can think like humans, now we have to deal with Grimm that are part card game!" she shouted.
"More like part spirit. But I agree with you. The Grimm are starting to create their own cards, which means more problems for the Spirit World, Remnant and for us." Weiss said.
Blake nodded in agreement. "I suggest we take advantage of this situation to see how they play. After that, we can form strategies of how to defeat them in the future, and know what to expect." She said.
"Oh, Blake. This is why we like you. Always staying cool and collected." Yang said, as she slapped Blake on the back
"I'm more worried about, River. Does he even know what he's getting into with this Darkness Barrier stuff?" Anna asked.
"Actually, Anna. I think he does." Ruby said
"How would you know? We known him for about 10 minutes." Weiss retorted.
"Call it a hunch. He just looks like he's used to this stuff." Ruby said.
"Either that, or he's just way too cocky." Blake said.
Everyone then exchanged glances at each other, and were worried about which direction this duel would go. Right now, it was River's turn, and he was looking at each card in his hand, nodding his head multiple times, making sure he knew what to do next.
Turn 2: River Sticks
River Sticks: 4000LP vs Martial Cerberus: 4000LP
River Sticks Hand: 5+1 vs Martial Cerberus Hand: 3
"Having any second thoughts, human?" the first head ask.
"You should feel honored though. You are one of the first couple of humans to experience of Grimm Type monsters." The second head said.
"THEY SHALL MARK YOUR END!"
River only chuckled. "That's neat. Now as for my starting monster, which one wants to play first?" He said while drawing his card. He then examined his hand, and considered what to do. River face then lit up as he decided to play his chosen card.
"Okay then. I guess I'll play Saber Beowolf in attack mode." River said in a relax tone.
And just like that, another mechanical Beowolf wielding a double edge sword appeared on the field, but only this time, it was on River's side of the field. The two Beowolfs took notice of each other and growled at each other, as they readied their swords. Everyone of course had different reactions.
First head. "Impossible!"
Second head. "How is this possible!?"
Third head. "NNNAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!?" That got the other two heads to turn around, confusing them.
RWBY and Anna had shocked expressions as well. "He's using…Grimm." Blake said, somewhat terrified.
"Grimm vs. Grimm. Now I really have to see this through to the end." Yang said. She felt excited to see Grimm fight each other to the death; especially Spirit Grimm. Although she wondered if it was wrong. Just a little.
"Does that mean we should be rooting for the Grimm on River's side? I feel kind of conflicted doing that." Ruby said. Right now, Zwei was barking angrily at the monsters.
"Forget that. I want to know why he got his hands on some of the most dangerous creatures in Remnant. I don't feel safe trusting him now." Weiss said, as she glared angrily at River.
Anna was silent, and only observed. From what she could tell, this was going to be an interesting duel. Although, she wasn't sure if she should root for River or not. Since he's using Grimm, it's most likely he will be her enemy.
"How did a human like you managed to get your hands-on Grimm Spirit Cards?" the first head said.
"Let alone yield them?"
"WE DEMAND AN EXPLANATION!"
"Well, if you beat me, I might tell you. But as of now, I think I'll use Saber Beowolf's effect. When normal or special summoned to the field, I get to add a Level 4 or lower Grimm type monster to my hand. I'll add Level 4 Shaolin Monk-E to my hand. Next, by discarding one Grimm type monster from my hand, I can special summon Monk-E to my hand! I discard Ape Apprentice from my hand!" River said.

River Hand: 4
Once River's card was sent to the graveyard, a portal on the field opened up on the ground, as a Black colored Grimm emerged from the ground. This time, it had the appearance of a monkey, with circular red eyes, and its mouth was always opened showing its teeth, with four fangs curving outward form the corners. The Grimm, also wore a loose brown sweat pants, and had his ankles and wrists tied up in the shaolin style. He also wore a waist stash colored red. The Grimm then performed a breathing posture to maintain balance, and then switched to a karate combat stance, and made Bruce-lee noises, with a mix of monkey. He also had a tail, that came out a hole of the pants.
"They made a Grimm version of Sun. I really don't know what to say about that." Blake said in a deadpanned tone.
River smiled as he looked pleased with the monsters he has gathered on the field. "The pieces are in play now. Time for a little XYZ summoning." He said, as he stretched out his arms forward.
"Wait. Did he just say XYZ summoning?" Anna asked.
"Yes, I did, missy. I overlay Level 4 Saber Beowolf, with Level 4 Shaolin Monk-E, to build the Overlay Network!" River yelled. The two Grimm monsters on River's side of the field then turned into purple and brown color energy, as they soar into the sky. A small black-hole then appeared on River's side of the field, as the monsters then entered the hole, causing a massive explosion to occur on the field.
"Rampage! Burn! Destroy! Behold the exciting XYZ summon Asura Ursa!" River chanted playing his monster.
Asura Ursa

Four red flames then appeared on River's side of the field, in the formation of a circle. The four flames began spinning round in a clockwise circular motion, from everyone else's perspective, as a tornado of fire erupted from the ground around it. Within the fire, two red eyes glowed, and suddenly, six black bear claws teared out of the fire, dispersing. The Grimm that stood in place of the two monsters had the appearance of a standard Ursa, seen back on Remnant, with the bone mask and the spikes. However, this Ursa, wore red Chinese chest armor, with red shoulder pads, wrist armor, and leg armor. Even more, the Ursa had a total of six arms instead, and six different weapons materialized within them. From top to bottom on the left side, it held a Mace Club, a katana, and an axe. On the right a bludgeon hammer, a dagger, and a spike and chain. On the Ursa's back was a wheel of fire, which kept on burning hotter, as the Ursa let out a vigorous roar.
"Six arms!? Ursa were already tough to take down with two." Weiss said.
"But you have to admit, all those weapons look so awesome!" Ruby squealed, as the fire surrounding the Ursa made it even look cooler. Weiss then smacked Ruby on the head, to snap her out of her fangirl persona, causing her to pout. After that, River went on the offensive.
"Asura Ursa. Mop the floor with that Beowolf!" River shouted. The fire in the Ursa's eyes blazed with fury, as it then let out another roar and began charging towards the Beowolf, armed with all six weapons. "How about I crank up the heat even more with it's effect!? Whenever Asura attacks an opponent's monster, by using an Overlay Unit, I can target and destroy any other card on the field. Like that face-down on your right for example."
Asura Ursa: OVU 1
The Ursa then used it's throwing axe, and then hurled it across the field, landing a clean hit on the facedown. The card flipped itself opened and was the Call of the Haunted trap card. The card then shattered, causing Martial to growl with spite.
"But wait! There's more! After the targeted card has been destroyed, I can nail you damage equal to half the attack points, of the monster with highest attack strength on the field. Right now, Asura has highest attack strength. Meaning you're going to get burn with a total of 1200 points of effect damage!" River said.
The Ursa then threw its katana, as it swiftly pierced Martial's body, causing all three heads to gasp in pain. Meanwhile, the Ursa finally reached its target, and began beating down the Saber Beowolf with a fury of attacks with all six of its arms. Pound, after pound, the Ursa wouldn't stop, as the Beowolf was helpless to do anything. Even though victory was well assured, the Ursa wouldn't stop, as it continued to unleash everything into a lifeless corpse. It only stopped after the Beowolf's body disappeared and it let out a victorious roar, raising all six of its arms into the air.
Martial Cerberus: 4000LP – 1200LP – 600LP = 1600LP
Anna and RWBY were terrified of what they just saw. "That…was a bit excessive." Anna said.
"More like brutal. That thing didn't stop even after it was dead. Just imagine being on the receiving end of that attack." Blake said, clasping both of her hands over her mouth. Everyone else shudder at the thought, hoping that they wouldn't experience that kind of brutal death.
"I think I did enough damage for this turn. I set two face-downs and end the turn. Your move, little puppy."
Turn 3: Martial Cerberus
River Sticks: 4000LP vs. Martial Cerberus: 1600LP
River Sticks Hand: 2 vs Martial Cerberus Hand: 3+1
"Whatever happens to you next is not my fault."
"Draw!"
"ATTEND TO US! ASSASSIN OWL!"
A gust of wind then appeared on the field, as a small Grimm creature appeared. It was an owl, with black feathers, a white beak and wore a bone mask over its face, while still showing the large circular owl eyes. It also wore a Black Ninja Upper garment around its whole body, while having additional talon attachments on its feet, and wielded a katana in its right wing. It also had a large throwing star on its back. The owl then swung out it's sword, while its head moved erratically, like how most owl heads do.
"Hoo." The Grimm Owl said.
"I activate Assassin Owl's effect! When normal summoned to the field, I can destroy one magic or trap on your side of the field! I choose the one on your left!" The second head said.
The Assassin then grabbed the large throwing star on its back, and then split it into two. He then threw both throwing stars into the air, as they then curved in the air, and hit their target. The card that was destroyed was a XYZ Reborn trap card. River didn't seem to mind as he brushed off the dirt off his coat.
"Take it easy, bud. Don't want to get the coat too dirty." He said.
XYZ Reborn
[Trap: Normal]
"Let's see if you're still talking after this! after Assassin Owl's effect successfully destroys its target, I can summon one level 3 or lower Grimm type monster from my deck, as long as it's attack points are reduced to zero! I play another Assassin Owl in defense mode!" the second head said.
"BUT THAT IS NOT ALL! WHENEVER AN ASSASSIN OWL IS SPECIAL SUMMONED TO THE FIELD, ALL SPECIAL SUMMONED MONSTER ON YOUR SIDE OF THE FIELD LOSE 800 ATTACK POINTS!" the third head said.
"HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" everyone then turned their heads to the sky, to see another Assassin Owl skydiving towards the Asura Ursa, with eyes wide open, and hooting like a maniac. It then crashed into the Ursa, successfully knocking it down to the ground. The owl then warped back to its side of the field and stood with its comrade.
"Okay. I can safely assume that these Grimm spirits fall either under the category of menacing, or just being plain weird." Blake said.
Yang on the other hand was snickering. "I have to admit, that was kind of funny."
"You wouldn't be laughing if it happened to you." Weiss said, causing Yang to cross her arms in frustration.
Asura Ursa: 2400ATK – 800ATK = 1600ATK
"Next, I play the trap card, Copy Grimm! Whenever I summon a Level 4 or lower Grimm type monster, I summon this card as a Grimm type monster, with 0ATK and 0DEF, attribute dark, and with the same level as the summon monster." The first head said.
"Meaning we now have three Assassin Owls." The second head said.

River grinned, knowing what was about to happen. "Time to get serious."
"YOU SHALL BE DESTROYED! I OVERLAY ALL THREE LEVEL 3 ASSASSIN OWLS! WITH THESE THREE MONSTERS, THE OVERLAY NETWORK SHALL BE CREATED!" The third head yelled.
"Hoo! Hoo! Hoooooooo!" the owls chanted as they turned into rays of light, and circled each other in the sky. A Black-Hole then appeared in front of Martial Cerberus as the three monsters entered it, as an explosion occurred.
"Focus!"
"Speed!"
"FURY!"
"THAT IS THE WAY OF OUR COMBAT! WE XYZ SUMMON OURSELVES! APPEAR! RANK 3! MARTIAL CERBREUS!" Martial chanted.

A dark aura manifested on the field, as it then swirled into a cyclone of darkness. The aura then dispersed, as another Martial Cerberus stood on the field. The Spirit Cerberus then took out a three-prong nunchaku, with the end of each prong resembling the head of a hound, with sharp fangs. The Cerberus swung them around like a pro, as it then got into a combat stance.
"This Monster is a manifestation of our power!" the first head said.
"And you shall be destroyed by it! But first, I'll play Mist Body. Now we can't be destroy in battle." the Second head said.
"BATTLE! WE ATTACK ASURA URSA! FANG COMBO!"
Mist Body

The spirit of Martial Cerberus then ran towards the Ursa, and began swinging the nunchaku with rapid speed, while the Ursa tried to block them. "Our effect activates. Any monster that battles us, loses 500 attack and defense points."
Asura Ursa: 1600ATK – 500ATK = 1100ATK
The eyes of the first head of the Spirit Cerberus, glowed, as the main body struck the Ursa with a powerful force palm, with its left hand, destroying the Ursa. It then continued its onslaught of fierce attacks. What's more, each time the Nunchaku landed a hit, the prongs seem to generate a spiritual based damage. The Ursa staggered back, as it dropped most of its weapons, while the Martial Cerberus Spirit positioned itself for the final blow.
"NOW DIE!" All three heads shouted. The Spirit then spun its weapon into the air, and struck the ground with two of the prongs. This then generated a wave of black aura, with crept towards the Ursa, destroying it. To make matters worse, the wave kept moving and was getting closer to River.
"I ACTIVATE OUR SECOND EFFECT! WHENEVER YOU WOULD TAKE DAMAGE BY BATTLE OR EFFECT, WE CAN USE ONE OVERLAY UNIT TO DOUBLE THAT DAMAGE!" the third head yelled.
Martial Cerberus: OVU 2
The spirit of Cerberus then grabbed one of the Overlay Units that was circling him with his left hand, and crushed it. The dark wave of energy then began to intensify in energy levels. It then collided with River, throwing him off of the ground into the air. However, he managed to recover and land on the ground.
River Sticks: 4000LP – (1400x2LP) = 1200LP
After River regained his balance, he began clapping. "Ok! Ok! This is starting to get exciting! Anything else you can do?" he asked while having a cocky smile.
"You'll regret asking that. Whenever an opponent's card is destroyed, we can detach one overlay unit from any monster we control, to target and destroy another card on your field." The second head said.
"Say farewell to your final facedown!" the first head shouted.
The Spirit of Cerberus then began spinning its Nunchakus in a rapid motion, and it then jumped into the air.
"SEIYA!" he shouted as he then fired a ray of black aura from its weapon, destroying the final facedown. It was revealed to be a Mystical Space Typhoon card.
"Whoops. I forgot I had that." River thought to himself.

Martial Cerberus: OVU 1
"Now you have nothing, and nothing's got you." The first head said.
"And soon, fear will surround you. I set one card, facedown, and end my turn." The second head said.
If Anna and team RWBY were sitting on chairs right now, they would be leaning over the edge. As of now, they thought that the Cerberus' abilities were dangerous and wondered what River's next move was.
Turn 4: River Sticks
River Sticks: 1200LP vs. Martial Cerberus: 1600LP
River Sticks Hand: 2+1 vs Martial Cerberus Hand: 1
"Looks like I'm going to have to put in some extra effort to win this time. Draw!" River said. "Hmmmmm. I can work with this." He said as he examined the card he drew.
"I play the spell card, Monster Reborn. With it, I can revive one monster from either of our graveyards. I'll revive Ape Apprentice from my graveyard!" River said.
Monster Reborn
[Spell: Normal]
A portal leading to the graveyard then opened up, as a smaller Grimm appeared. It had the appearance of a normal sized monkey. This one had black fur, and wore a red and green tiki mask, and wore orange robes, and wielded a small magical staff, with a purple orb on the top, and his tail was underneath his robe.
"I'll just get right to it. Ape Apprentice effect activates! Whenever I special summon this little fella, I can banish one Grimm XYZ monster from my field or graveyard, and one spell card from the graveyard, and add one Grimm Ritual monster, and one Grimm Ritual card from my deck to my hand." River said. The little monkey then raised his staff and as the orb in the center began to glow. Asura Ursa and Mystical Space Typhoon were then removed from the graveyard, as River deck ejected two cards from the deck.
"Ritual summoning. It's about time we see it." Weiss said, as the rest of team RWBY nodded.
"Wait. You guys know what Ritual summoning is?" Anna asked.
"Yeah! It's where you summon a monster with a special spell, send monsters with equal or higher levels to the grave, and then summon a specific Ritual Monster from the hand. Although, I would rather see a Black Luster Solider Ritual Summoning than a Grimm Ritual Summoning. I heard that the Solider is super cool and popular based on Duel Monster fandoms. He even looks super cool from the pictures." Ruby said, as she fantasized about the Black Luster Solider.
"We've been here for about a week, Anna. We had time to read the rule book." Blake said.
"It's pretty simple than it makes it out to be. Although that whole chain-link thing still confuses me." Yang said.
Anna was a bit surprised, but then nodded. "You girls learn fast." She said, sounding impressed. The group then continued to watch the duel in anticipation.
Martial Cerberus was now on guard, as he prepared himself to face against a Ritual Monster. "I activate the spell card Grimm Ritual! By sacrificing monsters whose levels are equal or higher than a Grimm Ritual Monster's level that's in my hand, I can Ritual summon it! I sacrifice Level 3 Ape Apprentice on my field and the Level 5 Hare Interceptor that's in my hand!" River shouted.

In the middle of River's field, a pedestal emerged from the ground. The base of the pedestal was crimson red, with black cracks all around it. In the middle was a Pool of Grimm, with several torches surrounding the pool. The Monster that appeared next to the Ape Apprentice was a tall humanoid rabbit Grimm. It wore white mechanical armor on its entire body, with black lines in between. He also two futuristic rapiers on his waist. Furthermore, it also wore a helmet, that came with a black visor, and perfectly fitted around the ears.
Team RWBY wonder how Velvet would react to the monster. They really never had much time to speak to her. The two Grimm monsters than dissipated into black particles and entered the Pool of Grimm.
"Creature of wicked and ancient magic. I offer up these two souls to invoke your power! I Ritual Summon! Come forth! Level 7, Primate Witch-Doctor!" River chanted. The black liquid then began to vibrate violent, as it then shot out a geyser of it into the air. The liquid then fell back to the ground, as a new creature stood on a solidified pedestal.

On the pedestal was a humanoid ape creature, in a kneeling position. It wore a red clothing on the upper part of the chest, while leaving the mid-riff exposed. He also wore a red tunic, and human skulls as shoulder pads. It wore a tiki mask, with lots of horns spreading out in multiple directions. He also had several tattoos all over his body. The Grimm then held up his right hand into the air, and a sinister staff, with a dragon skull at the top appeared. Primate grabbed the staff, and jumped off the pedestal, and landed on the ground in defense mode.
"They can use magic now!? Now that's just splendid." Weiss said in an upset tone.
River was now scrolling through his extra-deck list, and found the perfect card. "This looks good. I summon Beo-Spearman, in attack mode." He said.
Beo-Spearman

A Beowolf, wearing dark yellow knight armor appeared on the field, and wielded a standard, dark-lance. The wolf spun the lance in the air before brining it down.
"Time for some magic. I activate Primate Witch-Doctor's effect! By paying a gracious 500 life points, I can treat Beo-Spearman as two monsters for an XYZ summon!" River said.
The Doctor's eyes opened up, and glowed red. He then lifted up his staff, and a dark aura surrounded River. A surge of pain shot through his body, as he began letting out painful groans, as he was forced to get to his knees. The Grimm absorb his some of his life force and then transferred it over to the Spearman. The Beowolf absorbed the aura, and a dark copy of it was created.
River was taking multiple breathes, and slowly got back up on his feet. He then glared angrily at the Ritual monster. "You did that on purpose!" he yelled.
The Witch Doctor only turned around and stared at River for a moment. A sadistic grin then formed on his face as he then began chuckling with pleasure. "You, sick monkey." River said in a deep voice.

"Looks like you can't even control your spirits."
"As expected from a mere human." The second head said.
River only scoffed, as his smile returned. "Don't get wrong idea. He just likes doing stuff like that. Even if it is annoying at times. But I think we're getting off track here. I overlay two Level 3 Beo-Spearmans!" he yelled.
The two Spearmans raised their spears into the air, and turned into Dark Rays of energy, and entered a Black-Hole. "I XYZ summon! Appear, Rank 3! Subterranean Drilling Jaws!"

The ground began to crack, as three drills emerged from the ground. A humanoid Grimm wearing light brown armor emerged. It also had the head of shark, with red eyes, and wore a skull mask as well. In its hand was a lance, with three drills attached to the top of it.
"I activate Primate Witch-Doctor's effect! Whenever I summon an XYZ Grimm monster, you take 200 points of damage for each rank it has, and I gain 100 life points for each." River said.
"Your Life force is mine to play with!" The Grimm said.
The Primate then began waving its staff into the air, and began swinging it in the air like a maniac. Suddenly, both Martial and River then gasped out in pain, as the Primate began casting a wicked spell, as it then tampering with the life forces.
River Sticks: 700LP + 300LP = 1000LP
Martial Cerberus: 1600LP – 600LP = 1000LP
"DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP DOING THAT EVERY SINGLE TIME!? IT'S GETTING RIDICULOUS, Prime!" River yelled.
"Sorry. Slip of a finger. Hehehehe." The Grimm named Prime said.
"Wait. He named a Grimm?" Blake asked.
"Why not? Their names can be such at times, that I find it's a lot easier just give them nicknames." River then got back up on his feet and continued his turn. "I activate Drilling Jaw's effect! Once per turn, whenever my opponent's takes damage, I can use one Overlay Unit, and draw one card from my deck."
Subterranean Drilling Jaw: OVU 0
"Now for some action! Drilling Jaw's other effect lets me bypass our spirit, and go straight for the body. I just have to half the attack strength first. Now let him have it, Drill!" River shouted.
"Come up with a new name. It's so unoriginal." Drill said.
Drill then jumped up into the air, and then turned his body upside down. His body then began spinning rapidly in the air, and drilled into the ground. A large crack in the ground appeared, and then began crawling towards Martial. Drill then emerged from the ground, and was ready to strike.
Subterranean Drilling Jaw: 2200LP – 1100LP = 1100LP
"NOT SO FAST! I ACTIVATE THE TRAP CARD, DRAINING SHIELD! I'LL BE TAKING THAT ENERGY FOR MYSELF!" the third head yelled.

The shield appeared in Martial's hand, allowing him to block the attack with ease, as his life points increased.
"Tell me, why do fight for this human!?" the first head asked.
"As a fellow Grimm, I deserve to know." The second head asked, while the third head only snarled.
"I understand your confusion. Let's just say, he has that enlightens us. He opens us up to more possibilities with our lives." Drill said.
"THEN YOU SHALL FOR THIS TREACHERY WITH YOUR LIFE!" the third head yelled.
Drill then jumped back to his side of the field. "Sorry about that boss."
"Eh. No worries. I end my turn." River said.
Turn 5: Martial Cerberus
River Sticks: 1000LP vs. Martial Cerberus: 2100LP
River Sticks Hand: 1 vs. Martial Cerberus Hand: 1+1
"My turn." Martial said as he drew his card.
"Hmmm. The Primate Witch-Doctor. I'm familiar with this card."
"As long as he remains on the field, I can't attack any other Grimm type monster on his field. In addition, if the battling monster happens to be a special summoned monster, it gains 1000 defense points."
"THEN I'LL JUST PLOW RIGHT THROUGH HIM!"
"I play the Spell Card Oni-Gami Combo! By getting rid of all of my Overlay Units, I can attack twice this turn!" The first head said.
"Following it up, we'll play this. XYZ Unit. Now we gain 200 attack points for every Rank that we have." The second said.
"MEANING OUR ATTACK STRENGHT EXCEEDS WITCH-DOCTOR'S DEFENSE! NOW DIE!" the third head yelled.

The remaining overlay unit disappeared, while a ring of energy appeared around Martial. He then charged towards Prime, as the two Grimm were now struggling within a deadlock. Prime tried to strengthen his defensive powers using his effect, but Martial used his left palm to throw him off balance. The heads on the right and left then bit on Prime's arms, as the first head controlled the main body, and began landing swift blows with his weapon onto the Doctor, destroying him with one final strike.
"We activate the effect of XYZ unit!"
"We can use it as an Overlay Unit for one of our effects by sending it to graveyard."
"BEGONE TRAITOR!"
Martial's spirit then jumped into the air, and began spinning his Nunchaku around his body, and then fling out a strike of energy. "SEIYA!" the heads shouted in unison, as Drill exploded. At the same time, the ring surrounding Martial entered his body empowering his skill.
Martial Cerberus: 3100ATK – 600ATK = 2500ATK
"You have nothing left, human!"
"This is where we part."
"FEAR OUR STRENGTH!"
Martial then descended from the sky and prepared to strike. "I rather not. Being alive is kind of neat. I activate Hare Interceptor's effect form my graveyard! Whenever I'm attacked directly, I can special summon him from my hand or graveyard in defense mode!" River said.
And just like that, a portal to the graveyard then opened up and swift blur immediately zoomed out. Just before Martial could land a single hit, Hare Interceptor came in to save the day. However, Martial quickly overcame his defensive stance, and grabbed him by the neck. He then threw onto the ground, and began kicking him ferociously with his right foot. Once the enemy Grimm was weak enough, Martial raised his Nunchaku and slammed it with such force onto the it, shattering the Grimm.
"You only delay the inevitable."
"Your next turn shall be your last."
The third head only roared with rage.
Meanwhile, Anna and team RWBY were still watching in anticipation. They were somewhat rooting for River, since he seemed like a nice guy based off their first encounter. However, the Grimm were their enemy. So, they had their suspicions.
Turn 6: River Sticks
River Sticks: 1000LP vs Martial Cerberus: 2100LP
River Sticks Hand: 1+1 vs Martial Cerberus Hand: 0
River only drew his card and looked at it. "Hey, buddy. Are you sure you don't want that walk? Last chance." He said in a confident, but cocky demeanor.
"Trying to back out?"
"It's too late for that now."
"WE'RE DUELING TO THE VERY END, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!"
River only shrugged and grinned. "Okay then. It's your lost. I think it's about time you met my partner."
The last thing he said got everyone's attention.
"His ace is coming." Anna said softly.
"First I activate the effect of Grimm Ritual from my graveyard! I can banish it along with a Grimm Ritual Monster to summon any Spell Card from my graveyard as a Grimm-Type monster and I get to choose its level. I play Monster Reborn as a Level 4 Grimm type monster." River said.
Dark matter then began to flow out from River's graveyard, as the Monster Reborn Spell card reappeared on the field. This time however, a dark figure rose from the card, as if it were possessing the card. The only features the creature had are two red eyes and a black humanoid body.

A vortex of darkness appeared on the field, and then dissipated revealing a humanoid figure spinning around in circles on one foot. He then stopped, and revealed his form. He wore a Black and White Jester outfit, and swayed his arms in a hypnotic motion. His face was covered up by a jester mask, with the left side being a happy face, and the right side being a sad face.
"One of this Jester's tricks is that whenever he makes his debut, he can change his level to match the level of one Grimm type monster on my field. Since the Monster Reborn card is a Level 4 Grimm type, Twisted Jester's Level changes to four! Also, whenever I would XYZ summon, he counts as two monsters as well." River said, in a blood thirsty tone.
Twisted Jester: LV 4
The Jester began chuckling sinisterly, as its body began to pull apart from the middle. His body then split into two, only with each having a separate face. One sad, and one happy. Not to mention they also had two of each limb. At that moment, everyone could feel a dreadful aura radiating off of River, and it was a strong one at that. That meant that the next monster he was bringing out was going to be a strong one.
"Time to shine, Jack." River whispered to himself. "I overlay two Level 4 Twisted Jester, and one Level 4 Monster Reborn! If you thought my other XYZ monsters were strong, then this one is going to be a nightmare for you!" he said is a callous voice.
The Grimm Phantom, and the Jesters ascended into the, as the Jesters laughed manically. A Black Hole then appeared on River's field, as the three spirits entered it, causing an explosion of light.
"Creature of magically knowledge. Raise your blade and invade this realm. I XYZ summon! Appear! Hyksos Runic Jackal!"

Emerging from the Black Hole was another humanoid Grimm. As the name states, the head was wearing a Jackal shaped helmet, with red colored eyes designs on the head, and ear pieces that were colored gold on the inside and black on the outside. The Grimm also had two red eyes, and had a black mask piece, that covered the mouth. It wore black triangular shaped armor, and it pointed outwards just a bit, with streaks of gold running across it. It also wore triangular shaped shoulder pads, with golden arm gauntlets, with hints of black, leaving its sharp claws exposed. It also wore, gold colored Faulds and it had the design of an eye on the center of the garment. The Leg armor was sharp, and completely colored black, with the foot portion, resembling that of a sharp three-toed animal.
The Jackal's eyes lit up, and threw out it's right hand forward. Energy began materializing within the palm, as it then formed a golden curved sword, known as a Khopesh. Runes then began to appear on the blade, as multiple runes began appearing on the Jackal's body, as they began glowing with energy. The Jackal then swung his sword multiple times, to get a good feel for it.
Everyone could feel the strength and spirit that radiated off of the monster. Even more so, Martial looked surprised seeing the new Grimm.
"I've never seen nor heard of that Grimm before." The first head said, stunned.
"Which means it wasn't created by Rodney." The second head said.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" The third head demanded.
Jackal tilted his head up, facing Martial, and began to think about it. "I am River Stick's most trusted and powerful Spirit. I am…" the Grimm was about to say, until he was rudely interrupted by River.
"…Jackie!" River shouted in an enthusiastic voice and did the jazz hands towards the Jackal. The Grimm, known as Jackie, turned his head and looked down at River.
"Must you always call me that?" Jackie asked in a monotone voice.
"Hey. Jackie is a great name, and you told me that like it."
"I told you I was neutral about."
"Ah, you're neutral about everything. So, are you ready to rumble?" River asked.
"Why would I not be ready? I wasn't ready to fight; I would not be here right now. Your question makes no sense, what so ever." Jackie replied.
"Alright, alright. I get it. Oh, by the way. We got an audience today, so try and look stylish. K?" River asked.
Jackie then turned his head towards team RWBY and Anna, who were still speechless. He then waved his left hand at them, and proceeded to move back into his fighting stance.
Team RWBY and Anna exchanged glances at each other, as they were curious about this new Grimm monster that appeared. From what they could tell, it was different from the rest of the Grimm Spirits that have appeared.
"Since I control a Grimm type XYZ monster, I can special summon Military Raptor Force from my hand, in attack mode!" River said, playing another card. However, nothing appeared.

"Uh…was something suppose to happen?" Ruby asked.
"It's not an effect. It's just their thing. You'll see them soon enough. Very soon. Heh, heh." River said, sounding like he knew what was going to happen. "Now then, here's the fun part! By using one of Jackie's overlay units, I can target one monster, on your field and halve its attack points! Let him have it!"
"It shall be done." Jackie responded. He then held up his sword and pointed it towards the Spirit of Marital Cerberus. The runes on his body then began glowing brightly, as the blade began to glow as well. He then reeled it back, and then thrusted it forwards, as an Overlay Unit entered the sword, empowering it. "RUNIC BIND!" the sword then fired a blast of yellow energy, and struck the Cerberus, as multiple Runes appeared on its body, restraining him and sealing away most of his strength.

Martial Cerberus: 2500ATK – 1250ATK = 1250ATK
Martial then staggered a bit, as the spell also affected his physical body as well. "By the way, here's some facts. Fact 1: any monster affected by Jackie's ability can't be destroyed in battle or card effects, and it can't be targeted by any card effects for the duration of this turn. Fact 2: It's the only monster I can attack after using the effect, but that's not really a big problem for me. Final fact: if the monster that was targeted lost at least 1000 attack points, Jackie here can wage a second attack, but it's halved on that attack."
"Shall I strike him down?" Jackie asked.
"Not just yet, bud. Let's have Raptors take first blood. Sick him, boys!" River shouted.
Everyone then felt a rumble around the field, as the ground began to shake. Blake had better hearing than the rest of the group, as her Faunus ears picked up on some movement to her right. She then spotted a manhole, leading to the sewers that was shaking. Out of curiosity, she slowly approached it with caution. The manhole flew up into the air, causing Blake to fall back and let out a screech. The reason for the manhole flying into the air was because, it was underneath a Grimm's head.
It wore pure white military uniform, and had the appearance of a black colored humanoid raptor, with a raptor head, red eyes and raptor claws. It wore the standard combat clothing, pants, boots and an included cap. This one had the number one on its head. Another manhole then popped up as two more similar looking raptors, jumped up, this time labeled two and three. Victoria's wallet then began jumping up and down off the ground, as another Raptor somehow emerged from the pockets and let out a battle cry. This one had the number four on it's cap. Then a fifth one jumped out the window of a nearby car, breaking it.
"ENEMY SIGHTED! ELIMATING TARGET!" the first Raptor yelled. The other Raptors let out ferocious battle cries as they then charged towards Martial Cerberus' spirit. They then armed themselves with a combat knife and began delivering swift cuts, in a furious blur. Martial Cerberus was able to reduce the damage using his effect, but he still felt the pain from the coordinated attack.
Military Raptor Force: 2100ATK – 500ATK = 1600ATK
Martial Cerberus: 2100LP – 350LP = 1750LP
"Well, that just happened." Yang said.
"How exactly did they come out of the wallet!? Let alone fit in it!? Even by Duel Monster standards it doesn't make sense!" Weiss yelled.
"It's like what River said. It's just their thing." Ruby said, somewhat accepting it.
"Yep. That's a good enough reason for me." Anna said in a deadpanned tone.
The Raptors then jumped back River's field, and snarled at the Cerberus. "Your turn, Jackie! Get him, boy!" River shouted, pointing as Martial.
Jackie readied his sword, as multiple Rune began moving rapidly on the sword. He then jumped into the air, and launched himself towards Martial. Martial then raised his Nunchaku, to block the attack, but once Jackie landed on the ground, he then performed a right leg sweep, breaking Martial's guard. He then began striking Martial with a fury of stabs, and then delivered an upward sword swing, strong enough to launch the Cerberus into the air. And that was just the first attack.
Jackie then held his sword with a backhand grip, and got into a kneeling position, with his left hand on the ground in front of him. The blade of the sword then began emitting sparks of energy, and glowed. "GET A LOAD OF THIS! OVERDRIVE!" Jackie then swung his sword forward, sending out a wave of Runic energy, and then did it three more times, striking Martial's spirit mid-air, causing an explosion. The Spirit then fell out of the sky, and landed on the ground with a thud. It then got up, but Martial's physical body felt every strike.
Hyksos Runic Jackal: 2800ATK – 500ATK = 2300ATK
Martial Cerberus: 1750LP – 1050LP – 525LP = 175LP
River began clapping as he was impressed. "Alright! Now that's a show! Wooo!" he then saw Martial getting back up on his feet. "Uh, excuse me sir. Before you go on a rant saying about how you still have life-points and you're going to beat on your next turn, save your breath. It isn't happening."
"What!?" all three heads questioned.
"The Raptors are really supportive. After a Grimm XYZ monster finished attacking, if my opponent still controls a monster on their field, I can tribute Raptor Force and have my monster attack again!" River yelled.
The Raptors raised their combat knifes into the air, as they turned into a bright light of energy, and empowered Jackie with more strength. Jackie then turned to River and waited for a response. "Do it." River said in a sadistic tone.
Jackie nodded and faced his opponent. He then let out a furious battle cry, as he then charged towards Martial Cerberus. He then rotated his body in a circular motion, as he then struck Martial with a rapid spin attack, sending the spirit flying into the air, as it then dissipated. Meanwhile, the Duelist Martial slid back after taking the damage, and kneeled down in defeat.

Duel Over
Winner: River Sticks
The Darkness Barrier then disappeared, and Jackie's form turned transparent, showing he was in spirit form. River then approached the Martial, with Jackie next to him.
"You…are not a normal human. Are you?" the first head said.
"Hmph. Maybe I'm not, or maybe I am. I'm not even so sure of it myself." River said.
The second head scoffed. "It matters not. I have been defeated."
"You may end my life." The third head said, in a calmer tone now. Probably because it lost the fury to fight.
"About that. I have something else in mind. Jackie. If you would?" River asked.
Jackie nodded and approach Martial. He then took out his sword and pointed at Martial. The blade glowed once again, as a mysterious Rune appeared on Martial's chest and then disappeared. Martial examined his body as he felt, different now.
"Okay buddy, we're going to give you two options. Either A, join us and be part of my deck. Or B, we can kill you like you want. What do you say?" River asked.
Martial's heads then exchanged glances with each other, as they were now debating mentally what to do. Just then, River heard footsteps approaching, and saw it was RWBY and Anna.
"River! What are you do-." Anna was about to say, but then ran into an invisible wall, smooshing her face against it. She then slid down to ground, and fell on her back. "Ow."
"Anna! Are you okay?" Ruby exclaimed.
"Give me a couple of moments and I'll be fine." Anna replied.
Everyone then looked at where the invisible wall was, and saw at the bottom were multiple runes surrounding Martial, River and Jackie. It extended far out, forming a 12 feet diameter sized circle. River and Jackie didn't seem to pay notice to the group.
After thinking for a while, Martial finally replied. "Very well. For some reason, our minds feel different, as if we can choose what to do." The first head said.
"Regardless, you have proven your strength. Take our Duel Monsters' card and we shall join you." The second head said.
"You have our respect, River Sticks. Even though your name is funny." The third head said. River only shrugged at the last statement.
Martial's body didn't dissipated like all the other Grimm, but it simply faded away as a card materialized in thin air. River approached the floating card and grabbed it, claiming the Martial Cerberus Spirit card. He then placed it in his extra deck, and held out his right hand forward. Within them, the Nunchaku that Martial wielded appeared in his hand. River examined the weapon, and smiled. Jackie then took a couple of steps back, knowing what was about to happen.
River then began swinging the Nunchaku around his body in a rapid motion, while making Bruce Lee noises. With each swing, he could feel the power coursing through his body. For a spilt second, Anna and team RWBY could see a faded image of Martial, mimicking the moves of River. For his final move, river then jumped into the air, and spun his body, in a circular motion, swinging the nunchaku in the same motion. Just before he landed on the ground, he slammed the weapon onto the ground, causing a wave of dark energy to disperse across the ground. The rune wall then disappeared and the Nunchaku also disappeared on River's command. River then noticed that there was someone else nearby. He turned his head to the right to see the waiter from the Pizzeria.
"Hi, Betty!" River said, cheerfully while waving.
"Hi, River. Have a nice night!" Betty said.
"You too." River replied.
While Betty walked off, River then faced Anna and RWBY and began staring at them, confused. He then put his hand on his chin and began to think. His face then lit up, as a grin formed on his face. River then began approaching Anna. "It finally clicked! Anna Yuno. I knew I recognized that name." he said.
"Y-you know who I am?" Anna asked, as she slowly got up.
"Of course, I do. I'm been eager to meet you for a while now." River said.
Team RWBY then prepared to draw their weapons in case of danger. Anna was worried of what he was going to do.
"Man, Victoria was right. You are cuter up in person!" River said, as he now had a cheerful grin on his face.
Anna and Team RWBY had blank expressions on their faces, as they were now confused. "Wha?"
"You know my sister?" Anna asked.
"Yeah. She's my tutor. And believe me, if weren't for her brain, I would probably be failing college right now. Heh, heh. We were supposed to have a lesson last night." River said, as he then began thinking back to last night.
(Flash Back)
"Honestly. You're unbelievable. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY EATING PIZZA AGAIN!?" Victoria yelled.
Standing in the doorway was River, who was wearing a white sleeveless shirt and pants. His hair was messy, and he had pizza slice in his hand. "What? It's tasty. Plus, work had some leftovers, so I took them home with me." He said.
"I swear, that's all your diet consist of. Great, now I'm in the mood for pizza." Victoria complained. River then held out a spare slice he was holding. "Not right now." She said. Victoria then sniffed the air and immediately pinched her nose. "MY GOODNESS! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU'VE CLEANED YOUR ROOM!?" she yelled.
"Oh. I may have been busy in the past week. Not much time to do the laundry. Had to resort to reusing dirty uniforms." River said smiling. Victoria at this point looked like she was going to hurl. Just then, she felt her phone vibrating, and reached for her pocket.
"Hello? What? Is that true!? I'll be there as soon as I can!" Victoria said, as she then immediately hung up. "I'm really sorry, River. Something urgent just came up." She said.
"Ah, no worries. We'll do this next week. In fact, I have some, business to attend to in a couple of moments." River said. And with that said, Victoria sped off to where her sister was.
(Present Time)
"Bummer we couldn't do that lesson last night. I really wanted to ask her some questions about Physics." River said.
"My sister never told us about you." Anna said.
"Really? Well, it has been about a week and half since we had sessions together, so I guess that would make sense. Oh, that reminds me!" River then dug through his pocket, and pulled out an envelope and hand it over to Anna. "Here. It's the check I owe your sister for the last two sessions. Should have the 140 dollars I owe her. Anyways, me and Jack have to get going. Got some college work to finish." River said as he walked off, towards a moped, with the Leo's Pizza logo on it.
"Goodbye." Jackie said, as he disappeared.
"Wait! Do you even know how dangerous those cards are?" Weiss yelled.
River had a surprised look on his face. "I sure do. They are really dangerously, awesome! Well, goodbye." He then started up the engine and pulled out from the parking lot.
"That's not what she meant! Wait!" Blake yelled out. It was too late however, as River had drove away from the vicinity.
Everyone was silent, and didn't know what to say. "On a scale on 1 to 10, how worried should we be?" Yang asked.
"Maybe a 7? He doesn't seem be against us." Ruby said.
"But the Grimm are. And he uses Grimm monsters. For all we know, he could be faking it." Weiss said.
"I don't know about that, Weiss. His feelings and mood seem to be very honest." Blake said.
"Guys! I think we're missing the obvious solution to this confusing problem." Yang said.
"And what might that be?" Blake asked.
Yang then gestured her hands to Victoria, who they completely forgotten about. Right now, she was regaining consciousness. Once her mind completely recovered, she then examined the area to see all the destruction that was caused. "What did I miss?" she asked.
(Meanwhile)
River right now was at a red stop light, as he eagerly waited for the light to turn green, tapping away on the handle. Jackie's spirit then manifested next to him.
"Hey, Jackie. You need something?" River asked.
"River. Do you realize who those spirits were?" Jackie asked.
"Is this a trick question? In all honesty, I don't think I know the right answer."
Jackie only let out a sigh. "You can be hopeless sometimes. Those spirits were Huntresses. From Remnant. REM-NANT." He exaggerated.
River had a confused look on his face, as he was trying to process the information. "Huh. I guess that's neat." He said.
"Th-that's it!? That's all you have to say? Doesn't this concern you a little bit? Not even this much?" Jackie asked, as he pinched his fingers together.
"Not now, Jack! The light just turned green! Eyes on the road, at all times. We'll talk about it later." River said, as he began accelerating.
Jackie only let out a deeper sigh this time. "And by later, he means a very long time. I need a nap." He said, disappearing once more.
End of Chapter
Author's Note
Well, I finally did it. After several months, and probably a year of waiting, I've finally created the Grimm-Type monster cards. Yes! I've wanted to put these out for a long time. Especially River. If I haven't been subtle about it, chances are you guy already know what I based him on. Anyways, the college semester is over, so I probably will have more time to write my story. Well, unless I'm playing video games, card games, watching videos online, playing the violin, all the good stuff.
In other news, I'm going to continue with my Battle Spirits World of Monsters story. It's about time I picked up where I left off. Also, after that, I'm going to start writing a new story. Juggling all three stories might be a bit of a hassle for me, but I feel like this story in my head just needs to be shared. Anyways, that's all for now, so have a nice day.
