Tina smiled hearing Evan's voice coming from the shower, singing some song probably from the play he saw at the last time he went to the opera. He loved the opera. She remembered the one time he treated her to it when his wife went to a conference in New York.
Evan opened the door to the car before looking back at her. "My lady." He said with fake English accent and an overdramatic swing of his arm, bringing it down to his waist as he bent down.
Tina smiled before getting into the car, chuckling when he pulled her to him and kissed the side of her head. "I'm pretty sure a normal car driver wouldn't do that to his passenger."
"Well, good thing I'm not a normal car driver." Evan smirked before whispering in her ear. "Let's go."
The drive to opera wasn't long from where they were. Tina just couldn't stop staring at everything though. The lights were bright, the building was dressed as if it were a guest itself. People were swarming around the courtyard out front, waiting to go in for the show. "I still can't believe we're doing this. Evan, this is too risky. We should just go back to the house."
Evan shook his head as he pulled up to the valet. "No, you and I need to get out and experience a life where we're not clawing at each other in bed. I do not mind that one bit, but it's time that we treat ourselves to this. The nanny is taking care of the boys. You just had Wilbur three months ago, and you've bounced back like a rubber band. I want to take out the mother of my children, and if paparazzi believes we're having an affair and writes about it, so be it. I should be allowed to take out my girl without worrying about the public for a change."
Tina kissed his cheek before he got out of the car and hurried over to her side, handing the keys over to the teenage boy in the red valet suit. She accepted Evan's hand when he reached into the car for her. "You seem excited about this." She stated as their car drove away. The glimmer in his eyes told her she was right.
"Well, I have my two favorite things right here in front of me, you and the opera."
That night was when he promised her everything, the house, the family, the divorce, the marriage, the life that she had always wanted for herself with him. He even sealed everything by giving her a ring to wear on her right hand, on her ring finger. That ring held all the promises he made to her. That ring helped her get through all the hard times they had to deal with or face. But, that ring couldn't stop her from leaving when he announced that he would be renewing his vows with his wife. The minute she took off that ring, that was the minute that she gave up on Evan ever being hers, and only hers. Now, here she was. In the middle of no where, she finally had him to herself. But, she didn't want that anymore. She wanted her kids, her life, even if that meant his would become a messy and complicated for once. She shook her head when the image of him holding a gun to SJ's head flashed in front of her. Her heart started speeding up. How could she love someone who threaten her child?
Tina looked over to the nightstand where she knew the gun was sitting inside the top drawer. Evan was still in the shower singing to himself. She had checked the gun herself. There wasn't a single bullet in it, but she saw him load once they got here on their first night. He was still the same man she fell in love with. Every habit he used to have, he still had. He still loved her the same way, more if possible. But, her fear still kept crawling back when he wasn't there to tell her he wouldn't hurt her. Even then, her fears were still there, just masking themselves behind the temporary happiness that came with Evan Larkin.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the water turned off in the bathroom. She went back to sorting out her clothes to wash on the bed before Evan walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist. He frowned when he saw her. "What are you doing?"
"Sorting out clothes for laundry." Tina stated putting her colored clothes into the laundry basket on the floor.
"Wait... you have to sort them?" Evan asked.
Tina chuckled. "Yes, you have to sort them." Her eyes widened when she remembered seeing Evan's clothes in the washing machine. "Did you sort your clothes?"
"No, is there something wrong with that?" Evan asked with a nervous smile.
"Oh boy." Tina laughed before getting up off the bed and grabbing the laundry basket. "Come with me." She led Evan down the hallway to the small laundry room off the bathroom. She put her clothes on top before opening up the door and crouching down to look inside. She started laughing when she pulled out a soaked red tie. "Oh, honey, this might not be good."
Evan took the tie and hung it on the drying rack behind him. "Why isn't it good?"
Tina reached in a grabbed a pair of his now pink boxers. "Because, I'm pretty sure these were white before they went in." Evan took them from her and held them up to his waist. "You look good in pink."
"You look better in my boxers." Evan smirked tossing the boxers into the dryer. "Anything else pink?"
"A couple business shirts, but otherwise most of it is still good." Tina said pulling out the different articles of clothing and handing them to Evan. She put her clothes inside before starting the washer. "Evan?"
"Yeah?" Evan asked scratching his jaw and looking at his pink clothes hanging on the rack that he decided not to put inside the dryer.
Tina patted his chest before kissing his jaw. "Little Evan is poking out."
Evan looked down and quickly pulled the towel tighter around his waist. "I'd like to discuss the phrase 'little Evan'."
Olivia stood outside of the small police station fifteen miles from the house where they believed Tina was being stashed. Elliot was playing around with the radio inside while Dickie was trying to calm down SJ from blowing a gasket. She looked back at SJ's older brothers in the car behind them and watched as they were looking over more of the pictures found in the last house. They were waiting for two more cops to come out and get in there squad car for their back up. They already had a highway patrol car coming to meet them.
"Elliot, pick a radio station already." Olivia said into the open door of the car before going back to pacing.
"Well, I can't pick one if there's only commercials playing right now." Elliot stated before continuing to mess with the dial.
Olivia saw the two cops come out of the building and give them the thumbs up before she bolted into her car and turned on the car. The windshield started to fog up before the hot air finally kicked in . She pulled out of her parking spot, hating the way her car slid around on the ice and snow beneath them. "This is ridiculous."
Elliot looked back to find the squad car pulling up behind them. "They're ready to go."
Olivia pressed down on the gas. Her wheels spun for a moment before they caught traction, speeding off towards the house. The squad car behind them pulled up in ahead of them before turning on their lights, keeping their siren silent to avoid spooking Evan. Up ahead, Olivia saw the patrol car. It turned on its lights and pulled behind Olivia when they passed, quickly catching up to help get Tina.
