Chapter 25 : Commitments
Their bodies froze, eyes lock, both of dared not to move after hearing a
familiar voice . Only one thought came running into Anna and Jyle's
mind 'we're screwed'
"What's going on here ?"
As both them start to turn and look at the source of the voice, there
eyes widened as they got the better image who it was.
"OLAF !" Both of them screamed .
"Am I interrupting something" he asked .
They were relieved but still terrified to someone had seen them . They got off each other and went straight towards Olaf . "Olaf my god you scared us to death" Anna said .
"What's going here ? And why were you making it with him" Olaf asked
"It's complicated, I'll tell you everything but please just stay quite about this...please Olaf" she plead .
"Hmmmmm" Olaf hesitated about this, he didn't want any part of it nor didn't want to complicate the relationship between the group but he can certainly make an exception . Besides Anna was the one who gave him a home to live anyway plus she was a good person but he could never imagine she could do this kind of action so there had to be good explanation for this .
"Fine, I want to hear it from Anna and not from you" Olaf pointed at Jyle, he immediately got the message since he did admit he didn't seem to be one who appeared trust worthy but looks can be deceiving .
"It's fine, I have no right to talk anyway" Jyle answered .
"Take a sit Olaf"
Both Anna and Olaf took a dot nearby while Jyle went back to his desk to clean his handy work he was working on . Meanwhile he could still hear to conversation we his eagle ears, he focused closely to which vice belong to whom and carefully listened through the whole conversation .
Olaf : Alright start from the beginning
Anna : ok "takes deep breath" it all started when we were young, we were kids long ago and we had lots of fun back in the day but he had to return back to his homeland so we didn't spend much time together . We were reunited again we I was about 16 or so, and I was so happy I was able to see him again I never forgot the him and he never forgot me and Elsa . Around that time I started taking the likings of him seen he was probably the only guy around my age I ever interacted . But he couldn't stay long so we had to part our separate ways again and remember the story i told you about how my mother and father died in a boat ?
Olaf : Yeah ?
Anna : Well he was with them on that boat and you know the rest . Olaf : Oh wow that's rough .
Anna : Me and Elsa thought he died along side my parents and it was devastating to hear it . I couldn't sleep for a week because of it .
Jyle Could hear Anna trying to suck up the tears from her eyes with his eagle ears but eventually he heard Olaf comforting her .
Olaf : it's ok Anna, it's fine .
Anna : ...But as years pass we heard a hooded man arrived here in Arendelle...and that part of the story you already know .
Olaf : Yeah .
Anna : I just helped so happy he came back after I found out it was him . I felt the spark like the one I felt years ago when I was close to him but...i was Kristoff at that time and I still am . So couldn't just leave Kristoff for another man, I like Jyle but I'm in love with Kristoff...it's that so wrong ?
Olaf : well...yes and no, it is bad your already doing these things but you can't help that your feeling like this . I understand what your getting into but this has to stop . Ok ?
Anna : Ok . And Jyle has nothing to do with this, he just understands how I feel . His definitely in love with Elsa and not me .
Olaf : I wanna hear it from him, "hmph" JYLE CAN YOU PLEASE COME OVER HERE ! .
Jyle's ears hurt after hearing Olaf's voice that loud after using eagle ears . 'Note to self, don't use eagle ears if someone shouts'
Jyle then did what he was asked and went to Olaf and Anna's presents . " You called ?" He said .
"Do you love Elsa ?" Olaf asked .
Jyle didn't even hesitated, he answered Olaf's question immediately after he asked . "Yes" "
Are you willing to fight for her, are you willing to melt for her ?"
"I'm willing to die for her"Jyle answered .
"Good I just wanted to make sure, but this act guys... Has to stop . Promise me" Olaf said .
"We Promise" said both Jyle and Anna .
Both Anna and Jyle looked at each other and declared their action as the past a left it behind "fist bump ?" Jyle asked
"Fist bump" answered Anna .
They each other fist bumps and thus finishing their discussion .
"Good, now let's get back inside" he said .
As there discussion was finally over they wondered back to the castle towards their room . After what happen tonight they knew that what ever happen at the forge, stays at the forge.
As they arrived, Elsa can be seen still in the entrance of her room . She was worried as a mother waiting for Anna, Jyle and Olaf .
"Where have you guys been, and what took so long ?" Asked Elsa ?
Jyle and Olaf were about to answer that question but Anna beat them to it "Jyle fell asleep at the forge and me and Olaf have been trying our best to wake him up"
"Well as long as you guys are ok but don't this again, now get to bed already and no more sleeping at the forge" said Elsa .
"Yes ma'am" answered Jyle .
Everyone were entering their room except for Jyle who was being pulled by Elsa "and we're do you think your going ? Mister"
"Oh ummmm just on my way to my room"
"If I recall I thought we slept together here before, so why not sleep here with me again ?" She said .
Jyle had already turned red as a tomato after he he heard those words . This is a side of Elsa he definitely doesn't see often, might as well enjoy the moment while it last . But her acting like this tonight was defiantly a coincidence .
"Ummm a...su...sure, I guess" he stuttered . She immediately pulled him in the room and laid Jyle on the bed . After so much stress these days she definitely deserved some relaxing time, and Jyle with her was deformity one of those times .
"You know lately, I've been thinking...maybe we should all have a time to relax ones this war is over, don't you think ?" She asked .
"Yeah after what's been happening all these pass days, I think everyone deserves a break" he answered .
Jyle then got up from the bed and started undoing his robes . "Maybe...after the war, let's go visit Corona this time . It sounds like a perfect place after vacation especially since Rapunzel already visited already twice"
"Jyle that's sounds like a good idea, but after the war Arendelle needs their Queen since will be rebuilding a lot of the village" said Elsa .
"Ofcourse let's take this slow for now" as Jyle finally got all of his clothes undone he laid back at the bed next to Elsa and prepared to drift to sleep .
He kissed her forehead and whispered "goodnight Elsa" "Goodnight Jyle" both them let the sleep take over them and slept like a baby .
******************Next Day******************
It was morning and the weather was as just as usual, since it was close to Christmas it was snowing as always . Part of the coast of Arendelle was frozen but not completely . Everyone was by the dining room getting breakfast except for Elsa who just happen to just entered the room . She was the last one to wake up late, she barely get some shut eye since Jyle was literally snoring like crazy yesterday . Whatever Jyle was doing yesterday probably tired him out the whole day . Elsa said her good mornings to everyone at the table and sat next to Anna, "where did he go this time ?" She asked .
"Oh Jyle, well I heard he went to do a few errands for the chef but I think he went to the docks first" Anna answered .
"Alright after breakfast we go and help him" said Elsa .
"Why, I'm pretty sure he can handle a few errands" spoke Kristoff .
"Well to be honest I think we all need some time outside, the war has been getting us all worked up these days" said Elsa .
"I agree, let's do it" Rapunzel said
"Do we have to, sounds like a lot of work" as you Eugene said those words he then once again received another slap to the arm . "Oh to be such a baby, besides you need the exercise anyway" Rapunzel said
"Are you calling me fat ?" Asked Eugene
"Noo, but we haven't had a good adventure since the day you rescued me and ever since then you have been slaking" answered Rapunzel .
"Whatever, fine let's do it"
"Great, sounds like a plan" spoke Anna .
"I'll go ready Sven" said Kristoff .
Both Anna and Kristoff shared a quick kiss and he then left the room to find Sven . "You guys look so cute together" said Rapunzel .
Anna then started having flashback of yesterday's moment with Jyle, her face went bright red visible as the flashbacks continued going through her head . "My gosh your as red as a tomato" commented Eugene .
"Eugene !"
"What ?! Look at her" said Eugene
"Just eat your eggs already" ordered Rapunzel .
****30 Minutes Later At The Docks****
Jyle was busy by the harbor master organizing everything he'd want on his ship, apparently during the raid of the inferno brotherhood one of Jyle's students saved the harbormaster's family . And he was nice enough to offer him free upgrades to to his brig .
"Are you positive about this sir ? this is a really big offer" said Jyle .
"Yes I'm very positive, you've done so much for me I think it's best I return the favor plus I want you to have take this offer" said the harbormaster
"Well...if you insist, I'd like Crimson sails, Steel Rams, Twenty-Three Gold Broadside Cano-"
"Jyyyyllllleeeee !"
Jyle turned to see Rapunzel, Eugene, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf coming their way with Sven pulling them with the sled . He was kinda surprised that Sven could pull that many passengers on the sled, for a reindeer he sure has the strength of a war horse or something .
"Oh hey guys, what are you all doing here ?" He asked .
"Well we wanted to help you with your errands since we've been locked up in the castle for a while" answered Rapunzel .
"Well I appreciate the help but I'm pretty sure I can handle a few hunting jobs" said Jyle .
Elsa caught everyone's attention for her brilliant idea . "I have an idea, how about we have a competition"
"What kind of competition ?" Asked Anna .
"Who ever gets the most animals wins" she said .
"Well that might not be fair since Jyle already knows how to hunt" said Olaf
"I'm sorry Olaf but are you underestimating the princess of Arendelle . Back at our day I was the most brightest hunter there is" said Anna .
"I doubt it, you could barely handle Sven when his mourning for carrots" Kristoff said .
"Is that a challenge I here" said Anna
"Bring it, back in the I was just a thief you know . This competition is in the bag" said Eugene .
"Alright alright fine, meet me at the forrest in an hour then will start this challenge" said Jyle .
"Deal" everyone agreed and went back to the castle to prepare for their little competition . The winner would be obvious but everyone did needed a break from the stress lately . A day out of the castle did sounded like a good idea . Jyle then continued to organize his new upgraded ship, (basically the ship looked like the upgraded Jackdaw only the ram looks like the one from AC Rogue since it's winter season in Arendelle)
****************One Hour Later************
Jyle waited patiently at the forrest near the Wandering Oaken's Trading Post, he arrived rather early about five minutes earlier than expected . He got his ship organized early than he thought he did, all though he had to wait about three days for his ship to be fully ready for test firing . He was excited to test his new and improved BUSHMASTER . But all that aside he wanted to focus on the chef's errand for now . He was hunting today so he only brought short blade, a single triple barrel pistola and a crossbow .
The others arrived shortly after he was daydreaming, "well your here early" said Anna .
"Just wanted to enjoy the breeze of winter" he said .
They arrived they same way them meet up with Jyle earlier, with Sven pulling the sled while they sat on it . They all were prepared and ready to start the challenge, they all wore their winter clothes and had a weapon ready for their competition .
Anna carried a bow one of the soldiers borrowed her, Elsa preferred to use her powers instead, Rapunzel and Eugene carried a frying pan only Eugene has a knife equipped as his secondary . "Ummm I don't know if frying pans will be affective when it comes to hunting" spoke Jyle
"Believe dude, this bad boy has saved more than just my life" replied Eugene .
"Hmmmm alright surprise me, anyway the rules are simple . Who ever has the most caught is the winner, all possible ways to win are acceptable" he said .
"Sounds good, will meet back here at the oaken's in an hour or so" said Elsa
"Alright without further a do, we start...NOW !" Announce Jyle .
The group went in different directions as the challenge started, they rushed as fast as they could to get to their first catch, obviously the snow was slowing them down so everyone needed to get to higher ground .
(Jyle, Perspective)
As Jyle rushed of announcing the start and of the competition he immediately knew he had to go to higher ground so he could cover more ground, obviously the layer of snow was slowing him down so it was logical . He climbed up a near by tree and continued from their, he could see already many opportunity already to getting his first catch,
'It might be a good idea to set a bait here and come back later if I caught anything, or maybe I'll wait till I find a better spot'
He continued covering more ground from above for five minutes until he noticed a helpless rabbit wondering in the snow, 'easy picking' he thought
He quietly got closer to the rabbit and performed an air assassination to catch the it . Easy target and helpless, 'maybe I shouldn't skin it' he thought .
He proceed to climb the trees and wondered around find anymore animals . He later found a perfect spot to place his trap to catch the next animal . 'Perfect' he thought
He placed baits around the floor and carefully put strings around the ground to a near by three, he placed it in a position that would pull the string to drop very tiny darts on the victim, it wouldn't kill the animal put it will stop it from moving or escaping . It would lose a lot of blood if it move to much, but to make sure that the other wouldn't run towards it he set up loin cloths said around a nearby three from where they could most walk to that 'trap up ahead' that way the others would know not to walk towards it . As he finally finished he continued his stroll and went back to the trees and went to find more animals .
30 minutes had pass and Jyle had already caught three rabbits and somehow a wondering deer to which he skinned . He went back to check on his bait he set up earlier to see if he caught anything, as he approached his trap he was surprised to find another deer caught helpless . 'Seriously where are all these animals coming from ? I thought they would find shelter or maybe hibernate or something since it's snowing season' it did have him a funny idea why deers and rabbits keep showing up out of nowhere especially during winter, but it did have him a better chance of completing the errand he was requested with . But he did doubt that the others could get anything, maybe Elsa could get at least one or two but he didn't think anyone els could get any . Wait but he did forgot about Kristoff, he was a ice harvester so he might have some hunting skills that he picked up . After he skinned the helpless deer from his trap he wondered again to find more but then he heard a scream that sounded a bit familiar .
"Was that ? ... Anna !"
(Elsa Perspective)
As the competition started Elsa wondered for higher ground, she may be a queen with no experience to hunt but she wasn't stupid enough to not know that the layer of snow would slow her down . 'I can't thaw all these snow since it's not my powers that's doing this' she thought.
She created a layers of life instead to cover the snow for her to skate through, she then created a pillar of ice to get on top of the snow and skated through the ice she created . 'This way I could cover more grounds and faster'
She immediately spotted a wondering rabbit out of nowhere 'strange' she thought
She slowdown her pace and got behind a three to see a closer look at the rabbit, she then used her ice powers to freeze the rabbit leg to prevent it from escaping . She then froze the rabbit completely except for the head so she could bring it without killing, she left that part for Jyle . 'Alright one down, more to go'
She continued to freeze the ground to skate on and wondered further into the woods, she continued to do so in such a long time . She was in the urge of giving up already since she has been wondering for about 30 minutes or so maybe . But to her it felt like the whole day, but it did felt nice to use her powers for better use then other purposes
Strangely again she spotted another helpless rabbit who was covered in layers of snow, she immediately froze it completely except for the head and took a small break from wondering around . "I got to give Jyle some credits, hunting isn't as easy as it sounds" she said .
After about five minutes of sitting she heard a random scream out of nowhere which sounded very familiar "was that Anna ?...oh no"
(Rapunzel and Eugene's perspective)
The two wondered together in the forrest since both of them decided it be better chance of winning if they worked together . Rapunzel obviously did not have any hunting skills but Eugene could probably keep up with his own since he was a thief back in the day "with all these snow we might never find anything" said Rapunzel
"Don't worry babe, being a thief gives you some advantages . All go to higher ground to spot for animals while you stay in the ground for me to point you where they are . Alright ?" Said Eugene
"Sounds like a plan" she replied .
"Alright watch this" Eugene then proceed to climb a nearby tree with effort and made little progress . "Don't worry babe...I'm...almost...there" said Eugene.
"Eugene"
"What ?"
"Your not even close"
Eugene then looked down to check his progress and saw that he didn't even got closer to getting to the top of the three . He then went back to ground to think of a better plan .
"Ok here's the plan, we go find the others and ask for help" said Eugene
"Sounds like an amazing plan" said Rapunzel sarcastically .
"I don't see you getting any better ideas"
"Let's just go Eugene"
After 30 minutes of wondering they got to the conclusion that they were lost "Eugene"
"Yeah ?"
"We're lost are we ?"
"Oh course not, watch I just need to find the tracks that most people ta- yeah we're lost" said Eugene .
"You idiot now what are we gonna do ?" Asked Rapunzel
"Don't worry, I picked up the skill of hearing for sources of civilization . Watch"
Eugene then raised his arm close to his ear and listened closely for any sources for them to find a way out but ofcourse this proved to be busted especially coming from Eugene .
"Eugene I don't hear anything"
"Shhhhhh we need to be quiet for it to work" he said .
After two minutes have pass they eventually heard a familiar voice coming somewhere around the area .
"Wow I never thought it would actually work" he said
"Wait no that sounded like Anna...come on she sounds in trouble" she said .
"Crap I never thought we run in to trouble today, literally" he said
(Kristoff and Sven's Perspectve)
It was a good idea that Kristoff brought Sven with him, that way he could easily pass through the layers of snow around him . "Let me tell you Sven, this competition is in the bag for me" said Kristoff
Sven made a noise to response to Kristoff's comment 'nah I think Jyle's gonna win'
"What, so you don't have faith in me"
'No I do but it's just that he has a better chance'
"I agree"
"Wait who said that" asked Kristoff . He then looked around to look for the source of the voice and suddenly Olaf came out of nowhere from behind.
"Olaf ?! Where did you come from ?"
"Oh well I was hiding inside your bag, you've got a lot of smelly stuff in there you know" said Olaf
"Geez what are you doing here anyway ?" He asked
"Well I knew you guys wouldn't invite so I hide inside you bag while you weren't looking" answered Olaf .
"You could have just told us, anyway what do you mean you agree with Sven ?" He asked .
"Well first he is an assassins and second he did mention that he has hunting experience so this could be a piece of cake for him and third the chef requested him for this so its obvious that he would win this challenge"
"Well obviously you haven't seen my hunting skill just yet" he said .
After a bit of wondering he and Sven spotted a deer minding its business . "Perfect, Sven you get its attention and lure him this way while I hide on this layer of snow to finish to job . Ok ?"
'Ok'
"Alright let's do it"
Kristoff then covered himself in snow for the deer not to spot him while Sven slow went close to the deer for its attention . Sven then scared of the deer along with Olaf's help luring the deer to Kristoff's path . The deer then got caught immediately after it crossed paths with Kristoff and finished the deer of with his pickaxe .
"Alright time to skin this, it's best you turn around Sven" said Kristoff
Sven did as he was told and turned around to not witness Kristoff skinning the animal . "It's a bit strange to find a deer wondering around the Forrest especially since it's winter" he said .
"Yeah but atleast we caught something" said Olaf .
"Yeah your right, come let's find the next one" he said .
'Right'
Minutes have passed as they wondered around the somehow crossed paths with a rabbit this time not to far, but the rabbit did spot them and ran off as fast as it could . "There Sven, hurry don't let it get away"
The chased the rabbit carefully for it not to escape "hey Olaf, let me borrow your body for a bit" he asked
"Why what are you gonna do- whaaaaaaaaa" Kristoff then threw half of Olaf's body to the rabbit and it then got caught in Olaf's layer of snow stoping it from running .
"Hey guys look, I got it" Olaf said .
"Awesome Olaf nice work" he said
He then removed the rabbit from Olaf's body and skinned it clean off and continued on with the challenge .
"Actually I'm starting to think we could actually win this" said Olaf .
"Told you I've got this" said Kristoff .
Sven suddenly stopped his pace and started sniffing the ground . "What's wrong Sven, did you find something ?"
Sven continued to sniff and wondered somewhere els, the smell in Kristoff's nose started to take effect as well . He then started smelling the same smell Sven was smelling as well . "Where is that coming from ?" he said .
"Ummm I think from that" said Olaf . He pointed towards a dead rabbit close by and approached it with ease. "It looks like it was bitten but died from blood loss" he said .
"Hey but atleast we found another rabbit" said Olaf .
"Yeah" he then started skinning it while taking to Olaf .
"But I do wonder where are all of this animals coming from" he said .
"I don't know but it makes the job much easier" Olaf said
Suddenly a scream could be heard nearby from their position .
"That almost sounded like-" Olaf was caught off by Kristoff to finishing his sentence " Anna !"
(Anna's Perspective)
Anna wondered in such a slow pace through the layer of snow. She couldn't climb the trees or come up with any bright ideas to make walking around snow easier, she couldn't make good progress so most of her time wondering around was sitting around trying to find her way back to the Oaken's "Jeez me and my big mouth, I can't believe I I thought I could win this challenge" she said .
She continued to find her way lost in the Forrest with no possible means to find her way back . She started moping around in the snow out of boredom and continued to wonder around knowing that she would only get even more lost that she was already .
But luck was pity of her today so she luckily found a dead rabbit around the snow . "Talk about luck, this sheds a bit of light I guess" she said .
She then puts the rabbit on her bag she picked up at the castle and wondered to find more luck as she can but seeing from the situation her luck looked like it ran out .
"Man I'm so lost, what am I suppose to do ? I need to find my way back"
After 30 minutes of wondering she had enough and sat to a near by three to try and wait it out . "I hope the others will notice i haven't come back when the hour is pass . She continued to think until she heard steps coming closer to her way . "Whose there ?"
Took out her bow and looked around the area to see where the noise was coming from . She looked closely behind the tree and spotted a bear slowly coming closer to her, she couldn't react calmly so she ended up tripping from behind and helplessly watch the bear approach her slowly . She couldn't believe what she was seeing right now, she thought that either she was going to die or for someone to save her cause in a situation like this she couldn't handle it . She did the only smart thing he could think of right now and that was to scream for help . She screamed from the top of her lungs to which she hoped someone would help .
But the bear was only getting closer to her which was a very good thing, she closed her eyes as the bear raised from its feet and roared it mighty roar . 'Help' was all she could think of as she waited for the finishing blow but for some reason it never came .
She looked at the mysteries figure that distracted the bear and got a better look at it . "Jyle ?" She asked .
"Nope, it's Eugene" .
"Eugene !"
"Don't worry Anna were here !" Said Rapunzel .
"Look out"
It was too late already, Eugene took a devastating blow to the ribs with its claws making a deep cut . He wasn't unconscious but he couldn't move anymore when he was laying in the ground . "Eugene !" Screamed Rapunzel .
Thankfully Elsa came just in time to freeze the bear's leg for to stop moving for now . "Get Eugene, il take care of this" ordered Elsa .
The bear then broke through the ice from its foot and rushed towards Elsa, she then counters by freezing the bear but it wasn't enough time so she ended up using a shield of ice to block the incoming attack of the bear but since she couldn't get enough time to form it the bear broke the shield with no effort making Elsa fall down to the ground . "Elsa ! Look out" screamed Rapunzel .
She closed her eyes as the bear tried to claw her but luck was with them today as Jyle came just in time to save Elsa from getting clawed . He attempted an air assassination on the bear but It made little effect and only got a small mark the bear at its side .
"Elsa, get to the others and protect them . I'll handle this" he ordered .
"Right"
The bear roared as Jyle prepared his short sword to fight, "what's a bear doing here anyway ?" He asked
The bear did nothing but roar to his respond to which Jyle got fired up for his battle . "It doesn't matter...let's go !"
They rushed towards each other and swung their first hit .
