They moved back into their house but Sam and Gabriel's relationship was strained and it didn't seem like it could be easily repaired. What Gabriel had done had hurt Sam to the core and the younger Winchester was finding it increasingly difficult to trust the older Angel.
Micah, for his part, was feeling the tension and was crying none stop it seemed. Sam and Gabriel weren't able to console him, which meant that Sam felt more like a failure as the days went by. His depression was back full force and no matter how often Gabriel tried to console Sam and reassure him that he was loved, his previous actions had contradicted what he was saying now and Sam would not believe him.
Dean and Castiel, for their parts, had had just about enough of the whole situation and had forced the couple to take a week long vacation.
"Think of it as a honeymoon. The two of you never had one and so it's about time. You two can figure out your problems and come back better for it. Trust me, some time away, just the two of you, will make all the difference." Dean had said and after three days of arguing, Sam and Gabriel had finally caved and were now packing to be on their way.
"You'll be okay with Micah won't you?" Sam asked and Dean nodded.
"We'll be fine Sammy. Go have fun and fix this. I don't want the two of you apart anymore than you want the two of you apart. Please, at least listen to him."
Sam sighed but nodded and held onto Gabriel and the two vanished.
"Do you think this will benefit them?" Dean shrugged.
"I may sound heartless, but their arguing was grating on my nerves and it sure as hell wasn't good for the kids, so some time away is good for all of us. They want to fight? Let them fight away from the kids. They don't deserve this."
Castiel nodded and closed the distance between himself and his mate and kissed him gently.
"I understand!"

"Where are we?" Sam asked, looking around the room and finding it to be very familiar.
"It's the room we conceived Micah in. It's the same house!" Sam smiled at the memory.
"You're pretty sentimental." Sam said, putting his bag on the ground and hopping onto the bed.
"I'd like you, me and Micah, to move here." Gabriel said suddenly.
"Why? So we can have another house that's not mine to fight in?" Sam said getting a little annoyed.
"Sam, I said I was sorry. I was pissed. I wasn't thinking."
"I want a job." Sam was determined.
"Okay!" Gabriel readily agreed.
"And I want the two of us to go shopping for a house that we can both agree on. I want the three of us to own a HOME!" Gabriel nodded.
"I want this home to be OURS. NOT yours, NOT mine. OURS. I want us to fix this because I want to be loved by the man that claims he loves me."
"I do love you. That won't change."
"You've left me twice already Gabriel. Once when I was postpartum, because you said you were tired of my behavior, and once because you opened your stupid mouth. TWICE. How am I supposed to know you love me if this is what you do? RUN when things get hard?"
"You're right!" Gabriel said looking a little lost for words.
"I deserve communication damn it."
"Yes, you do. So let's communicate." Gabriel said, no hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Why do you leave when things get hard?"
"I'm afraid you'll leave me if I stay and try to work it out."
"But you know that by leaving you're making it so I resent you." Sam said, baffled at the answer.
"Yeah. I guess I think if I leave then you can't leave me."
"That's pretty childish thinking. If I don't see it it doesn't exist kind of thinking." Sam said crossing his arms.
"Pretty much. It's how I've always been. I hate not knowing an outcome and I do stupid things because of it."
"Can you promise me to stick around next time something gets hard?"
"I can promise I will try not to run away."
"Then we can fix this." Sam smiled.

"Micah's sick!" Castiel said, running to Dean for help.
"What's his symptoms?"
"He has a fever, a runny nose and he's been caughing."
"He's caught a cold?" Dean sounded baffled.
"Yes! But he shouldn't have. He is angelic."
"Call your mom. Maybe she can help."

"Hey Gabriel?" Sam called from the bed.
"Yes Sammy love?"
"I'm hungry!" Sam announced, sounding like a child.
"Oh yeah? And what would you like to eat?"
"Well, I'd like some sausage."
Gabriel smirked.
"I have some Sausage here for you!"
"EW! Pervert. What the hell. I meant the edible kind." Sam sounded amused.
"But it is edible." Gabriel insisted.
"Can I bite into it and chew it and swallow it..."
"If you want to." Gabriel said, winking at his mate.
"I hate you." Sam announced, smiling brightly.
"I love you too Sammy."

"He is ill." Margaret said, holding Micah close and feeling his temple.
"What's wrong with him?" Dean asked, pissed that Margaret was stating the obvious.
"He is colic." Castiel went pale but Dean looked confused.
"But colicky kids are just gassy right?"
Margaret held Micah closer and shook her head.
"No, Colicky angelic children are not merely gassy. Their grace is tangled and marred. They are in excruciating pain. If he does not get a grace donation from both parents, he will die."
"But they're gone and we can't sense or call them. What do we do?"
Margaret sighed before answering.
"I can give your parentage to Micah so that you may donate your grace to him, but he will no longer be Sam and Gabriel's child."
"Can't you just find them?"
Margaret nodded.
"I could find them quite easily."
"Then find them and bring them here." Dean insisted.
"Why? From what I hear their bond is fractured. They do not need a child if their bond is fractured."
"That's not your fucking call. Cas, call Sam. They'll be here soon." Castiel nodded and called Sam's phone.
One ring, two rings, three rings. "Hello?" Sam sounded happy.
"You and Gabriel are due home immediately."
Sam hung up the phone and within five minutes Gabriel and Sam were standing before them, barely dressed and still looking sleep deprived, but there.
"What's wrong?" Gabriel asked, running over to his mother and reaching for Micah only to have her take the child away from him.
"Your child is colic and needs a grace donation from a whole family unit." Margaret announced.
"Our family unit is whole. Sam and I fixed our problems and repaired the fracture. Mother give me my son!"
"Prove it!" Margaret said looking defiantly at Gabriel.
"And how are we to do that mother?" Gabriel asked, sounding scared.
"Have you copulated within the last 24 hours?"
"Yes, we have." Sam said, going over to grab his son, only to be stopped by Margaret. Sam, unlike Gabriel, was having none of this.
"Give me back my son Margaret, or so help me GOD I will tear your eyes out and feed them to you." Sam said, glaring at Margaret.
Gabriel looked a bit hesitant but remembering his promise he stood next to Sam and pinned his mother with the most deadly of looks.
"You return our son to us now mother, or I will easily help hold you down while my mate rips your eyes out and feeds them to you."
"Your cowardice seems to have left you."
"I was never cowardly in the face of enemies, I was cowardly in the face of losing my love. I went up against GOD in order to save our children, I will go up against you as well in order to see no harm comes to my son. HAND HIM OVER!" Gabriel seemed to be acting more like himself now, deadly, angry and a true arch-angel.
"Very well!" Margaret said, handing Micah to Sam and smiling at Gabriel.
"Take good care of yourself, Gabriel, for your daughter needs you!"
and with that she vanished.
