A Brief Respite

I sighed as I closed the journal I had been writing in and stretched. Although today was supposed to be my day off, I had been roped into writing up strategies concerning our assault of Walhart's stronghold. We were still a little over a week away from the attack but Say'ri and Chrom were getting restless and, as the tactician, I agreed to draft some plans to ease their worries.

Both of them had come in at different points of the day and apologized, but I would be lying if I said I hadn't been worrying too. I assured them that I was fine working extra and sent them on their way. Now that I had finished however, I realized just how late it really was. Lucina was not going to be happy with me.

I made my way to the tent that we shared as I considered how to apologize to her in the morning. Breakfast would be a start, but I should buy some flowers as well since I know how much she loves them. Upon entering our tent however, I found my thoughts come to a halt. In the light of a dim candle, Lucina was reading. She looked up as I walked in and smiled, beckoning me to the bed.

I smiled back and made my way over to her, collapsing into her arms. I was too tired to even change clothes, and she just laughed. She blew out her candle and set her book down before turning and settling in beside me. She kissed the back of my head and laughed softly as I made a contented sigh. In moments, I was drifting off to sleep, wondering what I had done to deserve such an amazing woman.

Hey all, sorry for the short chapter but I've been planning a full-length Robin/Lucina fic and that's taken up most of my time. I won't be abandoning this story by any means though so no worries. Future updates will of course be longer once I finish the planning on my fic, but regardless I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Thanks to all who read and/or reviewed, I really appreciate everyone of you. See you soon!
