Bella wiped her tears away and began to ask leah why she was crying.
"I really don't want to say. Yet. Can you go first?" leah asked
"sure. Well, my mom was being a real jerk and saying some really nasty things and then it got worse when Carlsile, esme and alice showed up."
Flashback:
Bella was in jacob's arms swaying to the music. Billy and Charlie sat at the bar and watched the game with tiffany and paul. Embry and Collin were busy stuffing their face while jacob's aunt and uncle themselves were dancing...
"you did good tonight babe." Jacob whispered in her ear.
"Thanks, jacob other than your sisters and my mother, I say its been a pretty good day."
"yeah. Honey you cant let your mom talk to you like that. your better than that." Jacob admonished.
"I know. I know but its hard. She's my mom. I know she can be a handful but she's-"
"don't you dare defend her. you derserve every ouce of respect." Jacob said as he cut her off.
And as if she heard them the women herself appeared.
"Jacob can you let go of my daughter so I can talk to her please.?" Renee asked as she approached the two.
Jacob sighed and looked at bella to see I f that was what she wanted.
aulBella nodded and motioned Jacob to go join embry and Collin. Once Jacob left, renee pulled bella to the side.
"look at you bella. Your throwing yourself all over Jacob while you have your fiancée waiting on you!? What is your problem?"
"mom! Stop it. Edward and I are not togather! And there is no wedding!" bella yelled as she pulled away from her mother.
"Well that not what Carlsisle and esme think. Matter of fact their here now." her mother sneered.
Bella quickly turned around to see Carsile, esme and alice being blocked in the doorway by paul. Collin, embry and Jacob.
"you are not welcome here!" Jacob growled
"of course, they are! they wil be bella's in laws soon enoygh so I suggest you move!" Renee yelled as she dragged bella over to confrontation.
Bella however had had enough.
"THAT IS IT! I want you out of here! Now mom! And take phil with you! And you !" she yelled as she pointed at the cullens
"I want you gone! Edward and I are no more and never will be! I am engaged to someone else! And I want you all to hear me clearly! This baby is not Edwards and never will be ! so get out of my face!"
"Baby? What baby?!" renee asked.
"your grandchild that's going to be born in the next 9 months mom! The child that Jacob and I are going to have. Not Edward!" bella said as she directed her eyes towards the cullens
"im actually glad you brought that up belal."Carslilse said as he pulled out an official looking envelope.
"we can do this the easy way or the hard way. I am giving you until the end of the month before this becomes valid." He said as he handed bella the envelope. However, it was Charlie swan who took it from him.
"I suggest you leave as asked. Now Dr. Cullen."
"Bella please come with us. Edward needs you!" alice pleaded
"Enough alice. Come let us leave. Ill see you at the end of the month bella. Im sure of it."Carslile said as he turned to walk out with Esme and alice following after.
"What is that? Charlie" billy asked as he watched the group of cold ones leaving.
"Son of -no! That rotten piece of- I can't believe this." Charlie shouted as he trembled reading the paoers.
"What does it say dad?" bella asked
"…The cullens are …taking us to court for…custody of the baby. It says we have until the end of this month for bella to go willingly with the cullens or they will begin the court battle."
"w-What! There is no way, they are touching my son! Or isabella" Jacob growled
Bella looked at her mother and then back at her father and then at Jacob. The day had officially been ruined.
End of flashback
"Im sorry to hear that bella. I don't know about the rest of the pack, but I will join Jacob in protecting you." Leah confirmed
"Why? You hated my guts a few days ago and why are you here anyway? I mean it doesn't make sense?" bella asked
"I don't know. When I was running here I saw you. Your were crying and sad just like I was. Look, im not saying we will be best friends or anything, but I think I can learn to like you."
"Why were you crying?" bella asked as she ignored leah's last statement. She honestly didn't care whether leah liked her or not. As long as she wasn't trying to rip her face off every five seconds .
"i…imprinted." Leah told her
"That's …. I don't know what to say? I don't realy understand it. So whats the problem?"
"I imprinted on rebbecca's husband."
"Ok. So what are you supposed to do now?"
"you don't sound so surprised?" leah questioned
"Well, im going to be honest. After quill imprinted on cliare im pretty sure nothing can be surprising. I mean sam was with you before emily and now its almost backwards."
"I don't know what to do." leah said as she buried her head in her hands.
"you should talk to Jacob, but I know your not a homewrecker leah. And derserve someone who will love you genuilly not someone's sloppy seconds. Its unfair to you. You derserve a real love."
"yeah but bella When my eyes met his, I saw it. I saw the future. I saw our kids. Our kids! Do you know for as long as I keep phasing I wont have any children? I don't have periods since I phased and im so tired. Im tired being in sam's head. Im tired of being in the pack and im tired of not being able to make a choice for my life and something good finally comes along and he's married! To my former best friend! What am I supposed do!"
Bella sighed. What was leah supposed to do? her imprint was married to her best friend and she didn't want to be a home wrecker.
"For now, id say you stay away and talk to Jacob and billy and old quil."
"I don't know if ill be able to stay away for long. The pull its too much. It hurts. i gotta run. Ill be back a little later."
With that said leah clearwater disappeared into the forest on two legs instead of two.
