Chapter 25:
"Sleep Sakura."
Sakura didn't reply back, but simply walked over to the futon and laid down.
The duo turned their backs to each other, their eyes still wide open...as sudden tension lingered in the air. Unspoken words, and awkward feelings just pouring down on them like heavy rain. Sakura heard Sasuke shift closer and she immediately tensed up,
"don't touch me!" she warned him quickly making Sasuke pause for a good minute.
"pfft, why would I touch you?" he deadpanned. He slid further away from her and scowled.
It was quiet yet again...
Sasuke closed his eyes and squeezed them shut ignoring the soft cry from Sakura.
She sniffled once or twice before turning her back towards him.
Stupid...Sasuke..
Aware of the fact that Sasuke was still probably awake Sakura waited a few minutes before taking her glasses off.
Sadly enough, they both spent the night pretending to sleep.
Next morning...
Sasuke sat up, tired and sleepy as he slowly looked to his side to see her still asleep. He brushed his hand through his black locks and groans silently "...I didn't sleep a wink..."
He rubbed his red tired eyes, and slouched up and began crawling off the futon and trudged his way towards the bathroom.
"I hate my life."

"Thank God he left" Sakura whispered to herself as she suddenly sat up and closed her eyes once more.
She sighed deeply as she picked up her glasses and slipped them on... Throughout the night she spent countless hours praying for the sun to get up so she can leave the room of torture.
"I can't go on like this... ugh..it's bad enough sharing a house..but a room? God help me.." she thought bitterly before stretching out her body. Her eyes felt heavy as did her body. Sakura was tired and fed up...on top of that she completely went back on her word and talked to him again.
"Stupid stupid stupid! FOCUS!" She bit her tongue and melted into a puddle of self remorse.. "you're better than this, you made a pact, now have some honor girl, and stick to it!"
"Right...my pact!" Sakura smiled to herself and grabbed her toiletries and headed towards the bathroom. She opened the door and nearly ran in to meet...a wet...steaming...chest?..
"huh?..." Confused..Sakura looked up to meet the eyes of the devil himself.. with droplets of water falling along Sasuke's pecs and abs.
"...mouse.."
BA-THUMP
"ah.." Sakura's eyes widened behind her glasses as she took a step back.
"stay calm,stay calm, stay calm."
"move.."
"hn" Sasuke smirked, as he glanced at her shaking hands and pink stained cheeks. She's clearly enjoying the view in front of her but pretends to ignore it, "you move first" he commands making Sakura growl at him. He bit the side of his inner cheek to hold back the smile that was creeping onto his lips.
Sakura angrily fidgets for a few seconds before calming herself, and stepped to the side allowing Sasuke to walk off.
"Don't...look...back.." She tells herself, and with every aching muscle in her legs she stepped into the bathroom and shuts the door with her foot and toppled over the sink. Sakura splashed her face with cold water a few times before shaking her head angrily.
"The day I fall for scum like him again, is the day Hell will freeze over"
Sakura stepped into the shower and turned on the water to wash away her bitter thoughts and
feelings.
A few hours later...
Sasuke and Sakura have been avoiding each other for much of the day. Sasuke needed to get out of the house asap and figured he'd spend some time with the only guy in the world who can handle his sleepless form.
"Dobe..ah he must be at Ichiraku's right now..." Sasuke was lost in thought about where he left his key's to notice Sakura walking out the door herself.
He finally turned his head towards the sound of the door closing and glanced towards the windows to see Sakura walking down their street.
"Where is she heading off to?" he asked himself before grabbing his keys and walking out towards the opposite direction.
Sakura continues walking down her path as she feels Sasuke's eyes linger on her back. Wondering why he's piercing his eyes on her yet, again Sakura walks fast until the feeling finally disappears.
"I wonder why dad wanted to see me today..." Sakura was referring back to the call she got from her father right after her morning shower.
Ring-ring
"Ah..hello?" Sakura answered into the phone.
"Sakura?"
"Dad? hey...what's up?"
"Hey sweetie, are you busy today?"
"um... not really, do you need me for something?"
"hah..yeah stop by my office today, alright?" her father kindly asks, making Sakura smile for the first time in the past few days... The thought of her dad wanting to actually see her fills her heart with joy. "Sure..yeah I'd love to see you" she answered back happily.
"see you soon then sweetie"
"bye Dad" Sakura clicked her phone off and bit down on her lip, "hmmm..."
Sakura smiled back at the little encounter from this morning's phone call and found herself running towards his office.
Sakura walked into the building and stood before his door.
Knock-knock
"Come in" her father's voice was as calm and soft as usual. She turned the knob and took a small peek inside the room, "Dad?"
Sakura's father looked up from his desk and smiled at her as he beckoned his hand at her indicating for her to come in.
Sakura smiled as she stepped inside and slowly closed the door behind her.
"You wanted to see me?"
Kizashi smiled down at his beautiful daughter and hugged her tightly, "Yeah, I have a surprise for you."
Sakura giggled whilst squeezing her dad once more. Kizashi stepped back and dragged out a medium size box and pulled it in front of her.
Sakura studied the box carefully before kneeling down at it, "What's this?" she asked curiously.
Kizashi crossed his arms and smirked, "open it first..."
Sakura slowly opened the flaps of the box to find a sweet, sweet surprise...
"This is..." her smile widened as she looked up at her dad and ran back into his arms.
He laughed as he twirled his daughter around.
"That's.."
"Did you actually think I'd let your mother throw away your old stuff Sakura?"
"No well.. I didn't think you'd keep it"
Kizashi was slightly taken back, "why wouldn't I keep my daughter's things?"
Sakura looked up at her dad and stared into his mint colored eyes. They shared the same eye color, but she wasn't sure if her eyes looked as sad as his. Sakura kissed her father's cheek and hugged him again, "Haha, I don't know daddy but I'm glad you kept them."
Kizashi rubbed the small of her back and smiled, "well why don't you look through it for a while?"
"Can I?"
Kizashi chuckled and placed a piece of hair behind her ear and cupped her face, "yes just make yourself at home Sakura, dad's going to just run some errands around the office, think of this place as your second home"
Sakura shrieked with joy and ran to her box of old memories, "Thanks!"
Kizashi nodded at her and left Sakura alone to take a step into memory lane.
Ichiraku's- 3:00 p.m
Sasuke walked into the diner and began bangging his head against the table he was seated at before Naruto placed his hand before his forehead.
"Whoa Teme if ya wanna crack your head open should've just told me, I would've done it for you" Naruto joked in hopes of Sasuke snapping back, but surprisingly Sasuke remained quiet with his head against the cold table.
"Teme?..." concerned Naruto sat down and looked over at his best friend. Sasuke looked up at Naruto to see his face completely wash out.
"WHOA TEME YOU LOOK LIKE SHIT!"
Sasuke glared at Naruto and banged his head against the table once more.
"I..don't need your stupid shit right now Dobe..." Sasuke sat quiet for a few seconds... "I've had the worst night of my life last night."
"WHY?!"
Sasuke sat back and looked at Naruto ready to explain when he suddenly felt Naruto kick him from underneath.
"What the Fu-" Sasuke's eyes darted to Naruto's face.
"heh?! whoops sorry Teme, my foot's been acting weird all day, why just this morning I accidentally kicked Pain 3 times in the ass AHAHAHAAA" he rubbed the back of his head vigorously. Sasuke shot him an eyebrow before suddenly glancing up at Naruto's ocean blue eyes.
Sasuke glances towards the direction Naruto's eyes dart towards the further table.
The girls were quietly listening in on their conversation. Sasuke was so tired he didn't even notice them.
"HEH SORRY I KEPT YOU UP ALL NIGHT TEME AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA BUT YOU KNOW ME ALWAYS LOOKIN FOR COMFORT FROM MY BEST BUDDY AHAHAA"
Naruto wrapped his arm around Sasuke's neck and ruffled his hair, "you rascal!...tell me later" he whispered into Sasuke's ear and continued laughing obnoxiously to make the girls finally look away.
Kizashi's office
"Wow...this stuff is so old..." Sakura whispered to herself as she looked through her old belongings. The box was filled with her old toy stethoscope, random books she loved as a child, a few drawings, some old hair clips, and a photo album. Sakura was getting teary by the second at the look of her old stuff, it brought back memories of both good and bad. She laughed to herself as she rummaged through the random books and mangas she used to ogle herself over. After a few minutes, Sakura plucked out the pale pink dairy that sat at the bottom of the box.
"My..diary..." she gasped, her eyes lingered onto the old cover. The book was still in good shape since it was sitting in the box for a number of years.
"Wow... I thought I'd never see you again Kokoro hehe.." Sakura kissed her book and squeezed it tightly. Her diary was so sacred Sakura felt the need to give it a special name.
Kokoro was literally Sakura's heart.
"I'm sorry I left you behind...I thought she might have thrown you away but luckily daddy saved you, isn't that amazing?" Sakura smiled silently at the book and giggled to herself.
"I can't believe I'm still expecting you to talk back to me aha!" She sat comfortably on the floor. "Now..let's open you up!"
Ichiraku's
Sasuke sat around the table as the rest of the crew stopped by their usual table. The gang ordered food and exchanged light conversations amongst themselves.
Feeling completely dazed, Sasuke sat quiet and found himself fighting the urge to fall asleep.
His eyes were getting heavy, the voices around him were slowly fading, his head was tilting forward...thud.
Sasuke fell asleep.
Chirp, chirp chirp.
"kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! stop it Naruto!"
'huh Naru...Dobe?'
Sasuke looked around from left to right at the sudden change of scenery.
He was in front of his old kindergarten.
"Why am I?.." He looked down at his hands to see they have changed size...about 10 times smaller than what they were. His eyes grew wide as he checked himself out.
"I'm...small...this must be..ah I must be dreaming...but why am I having such a dream?.."
"Okay Sasuke, be good on your first day of school for mommy okay?"
"School?" Sasuke looked up to see his parents smiling down at him with his lunchbox in his mother's hand. She placed it in his hands and hugged him tightly.
"Make sure you eat your lunch and don't miss mommy too much! okay?"
"ahh okay.." She sniffed and wiped her tears before attacking Sasuke with kisses.
"Ah Kushina-chan!"
"Mikoto-chaaaaaaan!" Sasuke looked at the red haired woman then down at the boy standing next to her.
'hn...Naruto..' Sasuke smirked as he observed the kid who glared back at him. They glared for a good minute before looking away. Uninterested Sasuke ignored his parents making light conversation and observed the other kids, silently taking notes when something caught his eyes.
Pink.
Sasuke turned his head towards the source of the color and felt his heart stop.
Ba-thump.
'P..pink...hair..'
Sasuke's eyes grew in awe at the look of this beautiful girl. Her light cotton candy pink hair, and sweet, emerald green eyes. Her cheeks were bright red and she looked so cute in her bright pale yellow sundress.
"ah...pre...pretty..." He whispered to himself.
Sasuke was so dazed he didn't even notice the girl staring back at him. It wasn't until her face was an alarming red that he realized he was staring. Embarrassed Sasuke blinked once and glanced at her again. Despite the fact that she gave him a cute smile and a small wave, Sasuke glared at her, and pushed all the funny feelings out of his stomach. The girl's face went to a slight shock and she turned away from him. Sasuke casually showed his back to her and quickly covered his face.
"Oh my Sasuke are you okay?..you're all red.."
"I'm fine mother...can I go inside?"
"Give mommy and daddy one more hug!"
Sasuke inwardly groaned as he hugged and greeted his parents goodbye.
lunchtime
"NARUTO! YOU'RE SO DEAD!"
Sasuke turned sharply at the sound of girls screaming, and the faint sound of his best friend laughing.
'Dobe?'
Sasuke was about to run towards the sound when his head turned towards the small building in front of him.
...Sasuke was standing at his old playground.
"AH NARUTO GET AWAY!"
"Hahahahahahaha take THAT Ino!"
"UGH I'm SOOOOOOOO going to turn you into a girl!"
Sasuke's head turned towards the noise again to see Ino and a group of girls chasing Naruto with various makeup products.
"ahhhhhh helpppppppppp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
"Stupid..just..stop them" came a quiet voice.
Sasuke looked over to see Sai sitting quietly with his crayons and drawing pad.
"HOW?!"
"Easy...you baboon you just simply..." Sai walked over and lifted Ino's skirt. He mindlessly stared at her star covered panties causing Ino's face to pale.
"What are you..."
"...mhm...as I guessed..." Sai put her skirt down and darted his eyes right to her own, "your panties are ugly"
"Wh..wha..." Ino was completely mortified..as were the other girls.
"See you baboon, she stopped as did the other girls" Sai smirked and dusted off his hands, "easy as..."
"uh...Sai.."
"What now stupid?"
"don't...turn around" Naruto warned as Sai arched an eyebrow at him.
"why?.."
"just-"
Sai turned around and came face to face with Kiba's skateboard.
"you...you...YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU MONSTERRRRR" Ino was raging with fury now as she came luring at Sai who desperately tried to get up.
"I WILL DESTROY YOU!"
"ruuuuuuuuuun! It's Ino-zilla! Naruto and Sai went running for their lives as the mass of girls ran chasing after them.
Right away Sasuke remembered what this day was...
' Heh...first day of kindergarten'
"hmph...idiots.." Sasuke smirked as he continued walking along the empty path. He placed his tiny hands into his pockets and took a good look at the playground everyone was laughing and playing. It was a typical day at kindergarten for him. Sasuke continued walking along a path when he suddenly felt something tug his heartstrings.
'why does this seem so familiar to me?...' He followed his instincts and continued walking passed the bushes and trees when he heard another familiar sound.
A sweet, song-like giggle.
Sasuke ran closer towards the sound until he finally came in terms with where the giggle was coming from.
"kyaaaaaaaa bubbles bubbles! sooo many bubbles! pop! pop! pop! pop! kyaaa hehehehehe"
BA-THUMP
'My heart?..' Sasuke clenched his shirt as he watched this girl closer...his eyes growing bigger at the realization of who he was watching.
The pink hair, the yellow sundress...it was all too familiar. He can smell her from here...
She smelled like sugar cookies and apple juice.
Sasuke stood behind the bush as he watched her play by herself. He sat there watching for a good ten minutes before the girl sat down against a tree. She finally looked up and there it was...those mesmerizing green eyes.
A blush continued creeping onto Sasuke's face as he watched this girl smile to herself, her green eyes slowly closing, her smiling slightly fading...soon he was welcomed by the faint sound of her snore.
"pfft..she fell asleep at a place like this..." Sasuke walked over to her and knelt before her to get a better look at her face.
'hm..indeed, she's perfect,...she'll make a great wife. She has everything dad said a perfect wife should have.' he thought seriously to himself. He continued looking at her before suddenly getting an idea.
"ah..I need to get married to her quickly before someone else takes her. hmm...I need a perfect ring!"
Sasuke looks around and searches for something that might help him. After much looking, he finally found the perfect ring. He started down at the random little green plastic circle. He knelt down and slipped it into her finger, "now you are my wife..!"
"oh wait...what was it that they do at weddings?...oh right."
Sasuke puckered his lips and looked down at the girl.. 'kissing girls is nasty but...'
he looked away and glanced at her sleeping face again, 'but she's my wife so she doesn't count, the cooties can't get me if we're married.'
Sasuke pressed his lips to the girls causing the girl's eyes to flutter open...
"ah.."
Sasuke quickly moved back, as she slowly fluttered her eyes open "mmmmm huh?...who's there?"

Sasuke's heart was clenching as he hid behind the tree.
"who's out there?! show yourself!"
'why am I hiding?! we're married!' Sasuke got up and casually walked around the tree.
'hn...pinky...congratulations you're a wife now."
"huh? pinky...wh...who's wife..?"
Sasuke knelt down and tilted her chin up, "my wife."
"wife...WIFE?!"
Sasuke smirked at her when suddenly she looked away from him... Sasuke turned away from her and pushed his hands to his pockets suddenly feeling confident at this matter, he had to be brave from now on,and explain things to this simple girl, he was a married man after all.
"why...how can I be your wife..?"
"how can you not..you're perfect, and Uchiha men need perfect women, like my mommy and-"
"no...I mean...how can I be your wife...when...YOU HATE ME SO MUCH?!"
Sasuke's eyes widened at her sudden change of tone...
'hate...?'
He turned around to see her crying with her head lowered down.
"Hate?..why would I hate you...hey..stop crying"
Sasuke walked over and knelt in front of her as he tried to lift her face up.
"NO DON'T LOOK AT ME! DON'T LOOK!"
"whoa..wait I'm just..."
"I SAID DON'T LOOK AT ME!" She suddenly looked up at Sasuke causing Sasuke to completely pale in color.
To his horror, her eyes...were gone...and blood...so much blood was dripping from her empty eye sockets..
"DON'T LOOK AT ME YOU MONSTER! I'M UGLY YOU ALWAYS THOUGHT I WAS UGLY!"
"huh?...I..."he was shaken up...he couldn't keep his strength any longer as he fell to the floor...staring at this girl...
'what..what did she turn into?'
"Why don't you like me Sasuke?...why?...it's because you think I'm disgusting right?.."
"NO! No..I don't think you're-"
"YOU HUMILIATED ME! YOU ALMOST GOT ME KILLED! I HATE YOU!"
"Killed-what?.."
"Sasuke?..."
Sasuke's eyes widened at the sound of another voice...
'Ka..Karin?'
Sasuke looked behind him to see Karin walking over with bloody scissors in his hands..
"Sasuke-kun what's wrong..?"
"Karin...ah..Sakura" Sasuke turned back towards the tree but Sakura was gone..
"Sakura?...my sister what about her?."
"the scissors.."
"oh these?" Karin tossed them behind her and smiled at him, "don't worry about these ah...is that for me?"
Sasuke looked down at the wedding rings his father gave him..
"huh? wait.."
"Sasuke I love you" Karin whispered...
"Sasuke...I love you too.." another voice whispered.
'SAKURA?'
Sasuke looked around but he couldn't find her...
"Sakura?...Sakura listen.. I"
"You...you're a monster...a cold...heartless...monster...but that's okay Sasuke...I forgive you...I'll always forgive you..."
"Sakura I'm just lying I...I need you, Sakura I think...I think you're beautiful Sakura please I'm sorry!"
"really Sasuke?" Sakura smiled at him...her eyes were coming back...Sasuke smiled at her as he walked closer to her, "are you really sorry?"
"yes..I am.."
Sakura smiled and she tried to reach over but ...Slap.
Something made Sasuke panic and he smacked her hand away...
His eyes grew wide... 'why did I do that?'..
"Sakura I'm sorry I didn't mean-"
"YOU'RE NOT SORRY!"
"I AM!"
"NO, I KNEW YOU THOUGHT I WAS DISGUSTING! I KNEW IT!"
"I DON'T IM JUST AFRAID SAKURA BELIEVE ME PLEASE I'M SORRY I LO-"
"LIAR!"
"SAKURA!"
Sasuke found himself fading to a black...a black room where no one was around..
'Sakura...'
The sound of the honey glazed giggle was echoing around him...
She was there...but at the same time she wasn't.
'Sakura...I'm...'
'Sasuke you're...a monster..."
"no..I'm not please let me-"
"Sasuke's a monster...Sasuke's a monster...Sasuke's...Sasuke..."
"SASUKE!" Naruto shook Sasuke even harder and finally gave up.
"Here...splash him with some water..." suggested Shikamaru, but NAruto ignored the splash part and poured the bottle over his best friend causing Sasuke to jump up.
"what?!"
"Teme! you fell asleep, you've been asleep for 4 hours!"
"huh?.."
"what happened bro? You were sweating and crying in your sleep..you alright man?"
Sasuke looked around the room...it seemed like he was awake again.
He was drenched... he ran a hand threw his hair to find his hair was damped with water and sweat.
"I.." his mouth was dry and he was dizzy, "I need to get home.."
"Hey buddy you need me to drive you home?"
"No.."he replied back quickly as he slowly got off his seat and stood up, "I just need some time to think, I'm gonna go sleep"
Kizashi's office
"Oh..my..God...what was I thinking? hahahahahaha"
Sakura was reading through her diary only to relive her once obsession with Sasuke.
Countless tales about Sasuke doing things, his likes, dislikes, what he had for lunch. Their futures together, she was just as Sasuke-crazy as the other girls.
"I was an idiot for thinking this was love" She laughed at herself and continued reading the other entries.
"Haha what's so funny sweetie?"
Sakura looked back to see her dad walking in with his suitcase.
"oh...nothing...it's just this stuff...my thought process...it wasn't well, healthy"
"Sasuke-swarmed huh?"
Sakura smiled faintly, "yeah...hm..funny how things change.." She lowered her head and continued to read when her dad sat next to her on the floor.
"you know, even after all these years I always had the feeling you still loved him Sakura. It's why I wanted this for you, so you're finally able to have some happiness in your life with the guy you longed for as a child. I'm happy he's treating you well..."
Sakura bit her tongue hard enough to keep her from saying anything hurtful to her father.
"ahh..yeah heh" she lied, "I'm happy too.."
drip...
Sakura quickly wiped her tears away and sniffed.
"Are you crying?"
"huh what?! no" Sakura lightly chuckled, "the dust just made my eyes a bit watery dad, ah but it's getting late so I think I'll just head on home"
"do you want daddy to drop you off-"
"NO..er..no thanks dad, I need the walk for exercise" She smiled at her dad.
He smiled back at her and hugged her tightly, when suddenly she felt hot tears land on her shoulder.
"Dad are you crying?.."
"Ahh no.. hah, just dust in my eyes" he joked, as he let go and kissed her forehead.
"thank you Sakura"
"hmmm for what?"
"For being the best daughter any father could ask for"
Sakura was confused by his words but simply smiled back at him, "and thank you dad"
"haha for what?"
She hugged him again, "for doing your best..."
'If I'm getting anything out of this marriage it is for you dad...no one else, just you.."
Sakura gathered her belongings and headed home for the day. She was anxious, and excited to sit home alone and read through all her old letters and notes, and drawings. She was sure it would be a good laugh.
Sakura took a shower after fixing up some dinner and sat on top of the futon. She opened her diary and skipped a few pages to find a page in particular...
"hmm...ah-ha! here it is... the first day of kindergarten..."
Sakura felt blush flow to her face after a few minutes from reading the horror that was fangirling over Sasuke.
"What was I thinking...God I was so creepy.." She sighed and laid back on the futon and started up at the ceiling.
"To think..now I'm head over heels for this guy's best friend...hmm Naruto..." Sakura smiled as she closed her eyes shut and suddenly remembered something.
"Stickers!" The pokemon stickers Naruto has given her. Sakura rummaged through the little box and found the last page of stickers she had left.
"mmmmm 6 left.." Sakura bit her lip, she wanted to keep them but at the same time she thought it was time to use them up. Sakura peeled one off and stuck it on to her diary. She came to the conclusion of using them all up for a special moment in her life, and the last one will the day she confesses her feelings to Naruto.
Content with her decision, Sakura went back to her readings, as the clock ticked closer towards midnight Sakura was dozing off and soon fell asleep surrounded by the little bits of the good memories she had as a child.
Sasuke was tired from his much needed long walk from Ichiraku's. He played his dream over and over in his head. It felt as if the dream wasn't a dream at all but a ...memory.
'no...no it couldn't have been..' The more he thought of the more his head started to hurt.
Sasuke sighed as he walked into the house and placed down his keys. He took a quick scan of the second floor to see the guys got a lot done for one day's work. He walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of juice, chugged it down and headed to the room.
Sasuke opened the door and immediately paused. He stood frozen in place and stared in awe at the scene before him. Sakura was fast asleep with her shirt rolled up and her shorts barely covering her legs. Sasuke's eye twitched at the sight of her creamy legs. She was surprisingly a messy sleeper. Her long hair was curtained around her.
"hn, so much for sleeping like an angel" Sasuke smirked as he continued to watch her. She began to stir causing her shirt to lift up more. Sasuke's eyes were bulging out of his eye sockets. The warmth from his neck was rising to his face making him quickly look away.
He slowly turned back and walked closer to her. There was a pale pink book sitting next to her pillow.
'hn? what's this?'
The second Sasuke picked up the little book and opened it. He began to read immediately..
"Hi there diary..." Sasuke scanned through the first few pages and began to flip through the pages until he saw the only thing that caught his eye throughout the whole book, his name.
Sasuke quirked an eyebrow and began to read...
Kokoro :D...today was the first day of school! I met this girl named Ino! She was really nice to me. I also seen this boy his name is Sasuke...
Ba-thump
'Me?.hmmm..'
Sasuke was ready to turn the page when he heard Sakura begin to stir.
"mm...what time is it?" she suddenly asked.
Panicking, Sasuke quickly ripped out the next 2 pages and stuffed them under his pillow before tossing her book next to her. He grabbed his pajamas and towel and headed towards the bathroom.
Sakura sat up her eyes still half closed and scanned the room.
'Did Sasuke come home?' She was sure she heard someone come in. The sound of the shower turning on confirmed her guess. Sakura yawned and threw her glasses back on. She sat in comfort for a second before suddenly feel an unfamiliar breeze. She looked down to see her shirt riled up revealing her stomach, and her shorts hitched up a little. Sakura gasped and pulled her shirt down, she walked towards her pile of clothes and pulled her comforter over her legs. Her cheeks flushed a deep pink at the thought of Sasuke walking in to see her in such a state. Sakura sheepishly looked at her book and hugged it tightly before pushing it under her pillow and fell back asleep
Sasuke walked out the bathroom and pulled on a tank top. He looked down to see she's fall back asleep. Sasuke heavily sighed and sat down on the futon, he was tired and was in need of a good night's rest. He laid down and stared at the darkness. It was quiet..the silence was killing him He folded his arms behind his head and sighed again. The dream was still lingering on his mind.
"What did it mean? Why did I have such a dream" He squeezed his eyes shut. Flashes of Sakura screaming and crying was still playing in his mind. The blood...all the blood..the Karin popping up out of no where. The fact of it all, Sasuke wasn't so surprised by it, it was as if he's seen it all before...Sasuke squeezed his eyes shut and took in a deep breath.
Sasuke soon fell asleep after much reflecting and thinking. His eyes were shut closed and the silence was introduced by the soft snore that came from both Sasuke and Sakura. Sakura turned the other way and moved closer towards the warmth that was pulling her towards the source. She pressed herself against Sasuke's chest and instantly felt relaxed. She unconsciously wrapped her arms and legs around it. Sasuke felt something squishy against him and instantly turned towards it and wrapped his arms around the little bundle of soft squishy flesh. The two hugged each other tightly throughout the night unaware of what they're actually doing to themselves.
Morning
Sakura woke up from one of the most amazing sleeps she's ever have to find herself in the arms of a demon. She blinked twice before realizing her position. She had her legs wrapped between Sasuke's as she slept on his arm.
"what am I?..." She was ready to move when she looked up to see Sasuke's eyes opening. He looked down at Sakura and the two quickly pushed away from each other.
"WHAT THE-"
"get off me!"
Sakura turned away from him and moved the covers over her head.
"What the Hell were you doing to me?"
Sakura stayed silent, she was too shaken up.
Sakura glared at her back and moved his hands through his hair. Feeling flustered he quickly got up and headed towards the bathroom.
'I need a cold a shower, some fresh hair for my mind...'
He looked back to see her small figure frozen under her covers and he silently banged his head against the door. The feel of her against him, her body was so soft and delicate. She was warm and smooth. The way his hand fit perfectly on the curve of her sides...He banged his head again and groaned... '..and a hammer for my head..'
Konoha Park
It was a hot summer day, the sun was beaming and there was a slight breeze in the air. It was the perfect day for a run. Sasuke and Naruto met up to workout together. After a much needed jog, a few games of soccer the two stopped near the benches to take a break for a snack.
Naruto noticed Sasuke's lack of voice today. He was always quiet but something felt off about his silence. He seemed to be preoccupied in his own world. Sasuke had told him about the damage in the house and wondered how it was taking a toll on him now.
"Hey..Teme...you alright?"
Sasuke snapped out of his thoughts and looked over at his concerned best friend. "hn.."
"Wanna tell me what's up?" Naruto asked.
"Dobe...are you aware of Sakura's feelings for you?.." Sasuke felt like throwing after asking such a random question. He looked up at Naruto who stared at him in awe... He knew Naruto was too, surprised.
"Her feelings for..."
"Dobe cut the crap, you know she's into you. It's obvious she is"
"Yeah..er..but.." Naruto's face flushed and he looked away from Sasuke. "Sakura-chan is..."
"She's in love with you..." Sasuke's voice cracked and he didn't want to admit that for some reason.
"Dude just stop it's-"
"Why did she stop loving me and start having feelings for you?"
Naruto suddenly stopped and turned towards Sasuke. He took a really good look at Sasuke. He had dark circles under his eyes and he looked completely...miserable.
"Teme where is this-"
"I get she hates me now but...how did she fall in love with you...why not-"
"you?.."
Sasuke stayed quiet...they both did.
It was quiet for a few minutes until Naruto sighed...
"Teme is there something you're keeping from me?"
Sasuke let out a dry laugh. His head was pounding and his heart was racing. He felt the air from his lungs just push out of his system.
"What can I keep from you?"
"I don't know Teme maybe you-"
"SASUKEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Karin was running towards them both with the biggest smile planted on her face.
"Karin?"
"Sasukeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" She jumped into his arms and kissed him lightly on his lips and looked over at Naruto.
"I'm stealing him from you Naruto"
Naruto gave her a light smile and waved at Sasuke. Sasuke raised an eyebrow at Karin as she pulled him away from Naruto.
"See ya buddy"
"peace"
Naruto gave him a firm nod and smiled to let Sasuke know they'll pick up their conversation some other time.
"Were you working out babe?" Karin wrapped her arms around his.
"Yeah, what are you doing here"
"Welllllll I asked Hinata where you and Naruto headed to the park so I came by"
"hn.."
"Sasuke I can't wait for my birthday...I hope...you got me something special"
Sasuke made no remark to her comment.
"Sasuke you okay?"
Sasuke turned to her and nodded, and looked ahead of him. His chest felt heavy, something was happening to him...and he wasn't sure what it was.
"I'm fine"
"Are you sure, you're really quiet..."
"Yeah, I'm gonna head home"
Karin pouted then kissed him lightly, "don't forget my presents okay?"
Sasuke waved and headed home, lately he hasn't been himself around anyone...That dream was really bugging him.
Home: 8:00pm
Sakura poured herself a glass of juice and looked around the kitchen when she spotted a duffel bag at the bottom of the stairs. A little while after Sasuke walked downstairs and Sakura abruptly turned away.
"I'm goin out for a few days" He mumbled to her. Sakura grabbed a towel and began wiping the counter top.
"Don't screw up the house again...See you"
Sasuke turned back to grab his bags and left the house without second thoughts of leaving her alone. 'She's used to it.' he thought.
Sasuke picked up the rest of the guys and they drove onto the highway towards the beach house.
The boys arrived to the beach house after the girls.
"mmmmmmmm smells like fooooood" Naruto drooled at the smell of BBQ on the grill. He threw his bag to the side and ran in the house screaming for food.
Sasuke smirked at Ino scolding Naruto to save food for the others. Naruto quickly grabbed a few hotdogs and ran off.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA" he laughed evilly and ran off towards the back.
Naruto sat down on the steps of the back porch and slipped out his phone.
'Sakura... I wonder how she's holding up.'
Sakura was just about done with the cleaning the living room when she heard her phone go off. Her mind instantly shifted to Naruto and she hurriedly grabbed her phone.
"Hello?" she answered and smiled the second she heard Naruto chuckle into the phone.
"Hey Sakura.."
Ba-Thump..
"Naruto" Her smile widened at the sound of his voice, "How are you?"
"Haha I'm alright and how are you 'almost birthday' girl?"
Sakura gasped, "ah you remembered.."
"Remembered? how could I forget? hm?..."
"well.." she bit down on her lip to suppress herself from laughing like a goofball, "I don't know..and I'm okay just doing some cleaning"
"Pffffffft, cleaning? you should be pampering yourself, go relax and screw cleaning!"
Sakura laughed into the phone and laid back on the sofa, "I wish I could do just that, but I don't like sitting down knowing the house is a mess."
"Haha Teme's lucky to have you around then, if it were me, I'd let him walk in his own filth."
Sakura giggled into the phone and turned to lay on her side. Talking to Naruto always comforted her.
"As mean as he is, I don't have the heart to do that to him..."
"Like I said he's lucky"
"You think so?"
"Of course! If you did half the things for me that you do for Sasuke I would love you forever"
Sakura's heart clenched, "Love..huh?"
"..Yeah..love.." He whispered.
It was suddenly quiet through both ends of the phone. Sakura's cheeks warmed up and she felt her heart hammer against her chest.
"Hey Naruto-"
"Sakura-"
They chuckled at the same time and sighed, "You go first Naruto"
"No Sakura just say it"
"Well...there's something I've been wanting to tell you.."
"What is it?" He asked.
"Um Naruto-"
"NARUTOOOOOO COME ONNN WE'RE GOING TO THE WATER!"
Sakura heard Hinata's voice in the background and she fell silent again as she heard Naruto call back to Hinata.
"Sorry Sakura-chan what were you going to say?"
Sakura smiled sadly, "It wasn't important, I was just going to ask you about your summer homework". Naruto laughed and told her he'd get to it eventually. Sakura lied to Naruto about other work that had to be done and hung up the phone.
"Alright bye Sakura-chan, I'll text you later"
"okay Naruto have fun"
Naruto smiled, "I'll miss you Sakura-chan.."
The phone fell silent again and he hesitantly laughed, "I meant our talks, ah er-I-"
"I'll miss you too Naruto" Sakura said cutting him off.
Naruto's heart clenched a bit and he turned his phone off and looked back to see Karin wrapping her arms around Sasuke as he grabbed the cooler and Karin's beach bag.
Naruto bit down on his lip and wondered thoughts to himself as he got up and headed towards the gang.
'Try not to be too lonely Sakura-chan...I'll keep you company from here..I promise' and with that thought he walked out with the gang as they ran towards the beach.
Home: 9pm
Sakura got out the shower and walked towards her bed, she plopped onto her mattress and stared at darkness that surrounded her followed by the distant glow of the full moon that kept her company in her lonesome room. Sakura sighed deeply and listened to the faint sounds of the trees rustling, as lonely as she was...knowing Sasuke wasn't home to boss her around put some kind of peace in her mind.
The silence was drowning her into a deep, peaceful slumber...
...
"Sasuke...mmmm" Karin purred into Sasuke's ear as he bit down on her neck softly. His pearly whites gently scraped against the nape of her neck as she ruffled his hair about. She was aroused and Sasuke knew how he's been holding back on bedding her the past few days. Sasuke too felt the sudden need to screw her around with her.
She swiftly pulled off her lingerie and began clawing his shirt off. Sasuke was breathing heavily but he wasn't as frustrated as Karin was. He looked down at her only to find himself imagining Sakura's blushing face pouting at him.
BA-THUMP
Sasuke's eyes widened as he quickly pushed Karin away and sat up, the sexual tension gone between the two.
"I need some air" Sasuke suddenly announced as he got up to walk towards the door.
"Wait I'll come with you!"
"No...stay...I'll be back in a few" Sasuke walked to the balcony and let the midnight air hit his naked upper body.
It felt good, and it began to clear his mind. Sasuke was breathing heavily, as he swallowed hard at the picture he suddenly imagined a minute ago.
"fuck..." he whispered to himself, when suddenly he felt two arms wrap around him.
"What's wrong babe.."
Sasuke was silent for a while as he felt Karin press against him harder... "Sasuke let's go back to bed.."
"No" he answered almost instantly he had the sudden urge to do something to calm his nerves down...
"I need a drink"
"I'll go get you something" Karin smiled as she sat him down on the sofa outside and walked into the room. Sasuke followed behind her and walked towards his luggage, "I just need to take something out"
Karin nodded and pulled out a picture of iced tea and two glasses and walked back outside. She was bare naked but didn't seem to have any need to cover up since it was just the two of them.
She sat down on the sofa and pulled over the small glass coffee table as Sasuke walked out with a box. He looked down at her to see her naked form and smirked, "Cold?" he retorted earning a grin from Karin as she sipped her cold drink.
"Warm me up why don't you" She winked at him as he sat down next to her and turned towards her.
"What's the box for-" Karin couldn't even finish her sentence when she suddenly gasped, "is this my present?!
"yeah.."
"What is it?!" Karin was beaming with joy making Sasuke smile. She loved him so much, and he knew she has ever since he can remember"
"Open it..."
Karin grabbed the box from him and quickly opened to reveal the black pearl jewelry set that was sitting inside.
She gasped and her eyes widened to the diamond ring in the middle of the whole set.
"Sasuke is this..."
Sasuke couldn't finish his sentence let alone breathe as Karin pounced on him and began to cry.
"I love you!" She screamed as she hugged him tightly and began to cry. Hesitantly Sasuke put his arms around her and thought very hard before he replied back to her.
'I've been with her all my life, and I know I'll be happy with her..yet...' Sasuke began to think of Sakura...and everything that has happened since she came into his life...his blood began to boil at the sudden memory of his dream. 'It was a sign...and a bad one at that' he was sure of it. Though he knew the nightmare was a huge bad sign for him, he still couldn't bring himself to say he loved Karin back.
Karin looked at him and kissed him roughly before placing the ring on her left finger...
"It's beautiful...oh Sasuke I love it. I can't wait to show the girls my engage-"
"this isn't a proposal Karin" Sasuke said cutting her off.
Karin eyes widened, "what do you mean..."
"I said it's not a proposal...it's just a birthday...I'd be dumb if I were to propose to you right now...not after you rejected me...twice."
"Sasuke I-"
"-Go to bed Karin I'll be there in a minute I gotta make a call"
"Sasuke please just listen!"
"Go before I sleep in a separate room!"
"FINE!"
Karin huffed as stomped back into the room. Sasuke looked behind him to see her throw clothes back on and she walked out the door furiously.
Sasuke suddenly felt his chest heavy and he began taking shallow breaths as he quickly walked into the room and grabbed his phone. He didn't know why he was feeling this way but all he couldn't think straight.
Sasuke's head was spinning and his eyes seemed blurry and he was breathing heavier.
'C'mon..c'mon...pick up..,pick...up...'

"mmmm...hello?.." The sound of her voice caused Sasuke's heart to immediately stop... "uh...hello?..."
He didn't know what to say...What the Hell am I suppose to say now? He thought about hanging up when he suddenly heard her calling out again.
"um...I'm hanging up"
"Did you lock the back door?" Sasuke suddenly asked.
Sakura raised her eyebrow as she processed the words she just heard..
"Sasuke?.."
"Yeah it's me stupid, answer my question, did you lock the back door?"
Sakura glanced at the kitchen, and squinted her eyes, from what she can see (or at least what she thought she could see) the door was locked.
" Yes...why..are you calling me in the middle of the night for that?" She asked. It was so unlike him to do such a thing. Was his night really that slow?
Sasuke heard her mumble words about the door being locked when she suddenly said she was hanging up when Sasuke asked her another question.
"Are the windows closed in my room? Is the fridge still making that loud sound?"
He waited for her to answer when she whined about being sleepy.
"Sasuke I'll check in the morning..I'm tired.."
"Well don't cry to me when something crawls back into the house again"
"ugh fine..let me check.."
"Also check to see if the t.v is turning on again...is it?" Sakura muttered incoherent words again and protested to check everything. Sasuke smirked and demanded for her to go check when he heard Karin come in.
"Sasukeee come onnnnnnnn I'm sleepy now!" she whined. Sasuke turned away from the phone and called out to her.
"Go to bed, I'm just on the phone" he said and put the phone back on his ear only to find himself cut off.
She hung up..
Sakura hung up the phone the second she heard Karin's voice in the background. She suddenly grew angry... "Why was he calling me to do things while he's out relaxing with her...ugh the nerve!" Sakura took a deep breath, her eyes burned with tears. She bit down on her lip and put the phone back. She felt her tears cool down her warm face as she quickly wiped them away and slowly walked back to her room. Sakura flicked the light on and pulled her diary.. She flipped a few pages and stopped when Sasuke's name appeared...
Sakura planted her face against her pillow and began sobbing. Her heart was aching again..
"Why did I ever fall for him?...Why did my heart ever decide to yearn for an asshole like him..Sasuke..." She cried, "Why are you so mean...why...what did I ever do to you...wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" she was crying louder than ever as she looked down at her little pink book and moved her finger over his him. As all the memories of her longing for Sasuke came rushing back to her, breaking her heart all over again...
