NOTE TO SELF: FIX SPELLING ERRORS IN CHAPTER 20 BEFORE POSTING THIS! Don't worry about this if you're reading it. I really should proofread my chapters before I post them. The spell check on the iPhone, which is what I type these on, screws with my story a lot. Seriously, just now it autocorrected "lot" to "little." And it changed "Tanooki" to tabouli. I don't even know what a tabouli is! I myself hate spelling and grammar mistakes in fanfics, and I don't want to do that to you guys! Although, I haven't actually read a fanfic in a while...

Actually, I did recently go through the recently updated smash bros fanfics and I found some really cool ones. I'll probably forget about them though because I'm an idiot.

Chapter 25: Connecting the Worlds

The white light blinded Ness, but he kept walking forward. Eventually he reached a metallic, futuristic looking door. He pushed the button to go in. Entering the door, he was greeted with a bright white room with no clear walls (because the room was so bright). But, he did notice something strange about the room. It was hard not to.

Above him and all around him were thousands of TVs, and all of them were turned off. Directly in front of him was a TV about twenty times larger than the others. It turned on, and the caterpillar's face was displayed on it. "Welcome." The caterpillar said. "To the fourth wall."

"The fourth wall? This is it?" Ness asked. "Wow, we actually guessed the location right the first time! The author probably got lazy to write a story for the other possible locations for the wall."

"Heh. I see you've already partially gotten past the wall." The caterpillar said. "By the way, who is this 'author' that you speak of?"

"Well, he's a... Huh. I actually don't know." Ness was confused. Why had he spoken about this "author" person in the first place?

"You're probably asking why you talked about him in the first place." The caterpillar said. "Am I not wrong?"

Ness gasped. "How did you know?"

"I'm reading the fanfic as we speak." He replied.

"Oh. Right..." Ness didn't even try to understand that. "So, about this fourth wall..."

"Hold your horses! All will be explained when your partners regroup with you." He looked at his pocket watch. "Oh! It looks like they will be here in three...two...one..."

Suddenly, a black hole opened up from the floor in front of Ness. Out came Toon Link, Popo, and Diddy Kong. They were all falling as if gravity had a reverse affect on them, but once they got about halfway up the room, the hole closed and gravity switched back to normal for them, causing them to fall back to the ground.

"Oh oh ah ah..." Diddy groaned.

"Ok. I'm hurt. I am very much hurt!" Toon Link yelled, arching his back.

"Eh. I'm a man. Nothing hurts me." Popo said. "Whoa! Where are we?"

"The fourth wall." Ness tried to sound as dramatic as he could, but his voice cracked, and he sounded like a cat going through puberty.

"Wow..." Toon Link marveled at the sight. "I like the color white."

"Eh, I'm more of a yellow person myself." Diddy Kong ooked. I mean, he didn't say anything. But that's what he probably would've said. If monkeys could talk.

"Welcome, brave adventurers. You have braved the hardships that have been laid out for you, and have earned the right to stand where you stand today." The caterpillar turned its head towards them. "Welcome... To Jurrasic Park. Oops! Never mind that. I meant to say: Welcome to... The Fourth Wall." Instantly, every single TV came to life, showing all sorts of different things that none of the adventurers could understand.

"Whoa!" Popo said.

"So... The fourth wall is just a bunch of TV programs?" Ness asked.

"Well, yes. But, it's what's on the TV's that is truly the fourth wall." Cater-pal pushed another button, sending one of the TV's in front of them. "This is a video from a magical website called YouTube. I think you all will enjoy it...

They proceeded to watch a video in which two guys analyzed the skills and powers of Link and this other guy who looks like he came straight from an anime. Then, there was an animation of the two fighting, in which only one came out as a victor, and survivor. As for who won... I'll let you guys find the video yourself if you want to watch it. Warning: there is swearing

"Wow! That was amazing!" Ness yelled after the video.

"Did they actually fight? I don't remember this!" Toon Link asked.

"No, they didn't. That's all a part of technology."

"I don't know any technology that can create things like that." Popo said.

"Hey, I noticed that they mentioned these so called 'video games.' Um... What are video games?" Ness asked.

"Oh, I'll tell you what video games are..." Cater-pal said slyly. With another button-press, a Wii U was brought out and hooked up to the TV. "Come... And join the fourth wall!"

"And so we spent the whole day playing video games and all the other smashers came with us and we played together and it was amazing!" Toon Link yelled to the group of little goombas.

"Wait, so when did this happen?" A small goomba with a blue baseball cap asked.

"A little over a year ago." Toon Link said. "Since then, we have gotten in touch with the real world, and we finally got to meet our creators, Nintendo! And it's all thanks to me!"

"Wow!"

"You're so cool!"

"Amazing!"

"He's the greatest smasher ever!"

"Thank you, thank you. I know." Toon Link bowed.

"If I may interrupt..." A person behind Toon Link said. Toon Link jumped in surprise and looked behind him, to find none other than Mewtwo, the most legendary Pokémon in the universe.

"That's not how it happened at all, Toon Link, and you know that!" Mewtwo said. His eyes were closed and his arms were crossed. He looked serious. Toon Link gulped.

"I was the one to actually break the fourth wall..." Mewtwo said. "After my defeat in the Melee tournament, I went off to have an epic, soul-searching journey. It was awesome. At the end of my journey, I found the so-called "fourth wall" that you speak of. There, I made first contact, and made it back here by the end of the Brawl tournament. That's the story. In as much detail as I care to talk about, and that the author cares to write about."

"Wait... You lied to us?" A young goomba asked.

"No! Well, sort of, I guess..." Toon Link rubbed his head in embarrassment. "Well, I better go, see ya!" He quickly dashed off in one direction (not the band), and the crowd of goomba children chased him. They caught up to him and threw him into the Smash Lake.

"Poor kid. I'd say he deserves a little extra as compensation. An extra beating the next time we face each other in battle." Mewtwo chuckled to himself. "You're funny, Mewtwo. You're really funny. And clever. Gosh, you're clever." With that, Mewtwo teleported away, leaving Toon Link to be pounded on by the goombas like pikmin.

A/N: What a twist, eh? Next chapter will be a karter chapter, where we find out what happened to Link and Peach in the barn! Plus... Another character still has to become a part of the race... Anyways, sorry about the shorter than usual chater. I'm kinda busy with life right now, which sucks, but is just a part of life, I suppose. Until next chapter!
