Luin was the City of Hope. But the City of Hope was barren and destroyed, and standing there, they couldn't help but feel empty inside.

Water splashed from the puddles that shouldn't have been there as they walked, flowing forlornly through a gouge in the side of the fountain before it emptied into Lake Sinoa. The houses were in ruins, roofing tiles scattered between scars in the paths. Bridges lay in shambles; boats were gone or else reduced to burning wrecks that floated aimlessly on the lake's surface before they vanished beneath. One little girl's doll lay abandoned at the side of the road, half buried in the ruins of what had been someone's home. There was no sign of life to be seen. No one mentioned the blood that stained the ground, that swirled in the water. They all knew it was there.

They stood, shocked and numb. The City of Hope had become the City of Devastation. And they were its only witnesses.
