The next morning, Carol, Aerin, and Andrea had gotten up early to make breakfast for the guys before they left. Their plans were grander than their execution though as morning sickness had set in and the three of them were taking turns in the tiny bathroom off the kitchen.
"This is ridiculous." Andrea grumbled as she came out of the bathroom. Aerin darted around her, hands covering her mouth.
"Tell me about it." Carol agreed. Her face was pale and covered in a sheen of sweat. "I was never this sick with Sophia."
"Maybe it's the Dixon genes making us sick." Andrea took a sip of water, gargled it, and spit it into the sink.
"It probably is." Carol forced a smile. "Those bastards."
"Totally." Andrea agreed and dragged a huge pot under the water. "Oatmeal this morning, right?"
"Yep. I was gonna fry up some of this Spam that Glenn found, but there's no way I can deal with that smell today." Carol shook her head.
"Please don't." Aerin whimpered as she staggered out of the bathroom. "Spam is disgusting on a good day."
"Eggs it is then." Carol decided and got a box of powdered eggs out.
"I hate powdered eggs." Andrea rolled her eyes.
"I was going to try to make chocolate chip cookies this afternoon so I need to save the real eggs we have." Carol said and got a large skillet ready.
"Cookies?" Andrea forced a smile on her face. "That sounds so good."
"Hopefully I'll be able to eat then." Aerin moaned.
"You should sit down, Aer. You're looking a little green." Carol pushed Aerin onto a stool.
"I feel like that kid in the Exorcist movie after she puked up that pea soup." Aerin rested her head on her arms and moaned again.
"We're pathetic, ladies." Andrea looked at her friends and shook her head. "We need to send Glenn out for some medicine or something. Anti nausea pills or some shit."
"Ginger tea." Carol said. "That's what we need. It's a miracle cure for morning sickness."
"Morning sickness?" Maggie asked as she stopped in the doorway. She leaned her head against the frame and sighed. "Did you guys say there was a miracle cure?"
"You too?" Andrea asked, looking over at her friend.
"Yes." She glared. "I told Glenn he better get some more damn condoms, but I just can't keep my hands off of him."
"Apparently we're all a bunch of horny bitches." Aerin grumbled, pushing the other stool at Maggie.
"You're all pregnant?" Maggie asked, easing onto the stool.
"Yeah. And we're not telling anyone yet so keep it quiet." Carol warned her.
"Me either." Maggie said. "I just found out yesterday."
"Glenn doesn't know?" Carol asked as she mixed the powdered eggs with water.
"No, I didn't want him to worry about it while he was out there today." Maggie sighed. "That's the last thing he needs."
"Hopefully, it'll all be over soon." Aerin said, putting her head back down.
"Hopefully." Maggie nodded and looked at the three women. "Ya'all, what are we gonna do with four babies?"
"Probably five." Andrea said, smiling. "Aerin's gonna have twins most likely."
"Fuck you, Andrea." Aerin grumbled, her head still buried in her arms. "It's not twins."
"You won't know until it gets here, girl." Maggie said. "Not like we can pop down to the hospital for a sonogram, you know."
"I wonder if we could." Andrea said after she poured the oatmeal into the boiling water. She stirred the huge pot with a slotted spoon that was longer than her arm.
"I'm pretty sure the hospital's closed, Andrea." Carol furrowed her brow at her friend.
"I know." Andrea rolled her eyes. "But we could steal a sonogram machine. Maybe a fetal heart monitor. I bet Hershel could figure out how to use it."
"Oh, god." Maggie groaned, dropping her head on the table. "My dad's gonna have to deliver my baby." The other girls burst into gales of laughter. Merle and Conner popped into the kitchen.
"What's so funny in here?" Merle asked, going over to Andrea and kissing the top of her head.
"Nothing." All four girls said, faces turning red. Merle and Conner looked at each other and shrugged.
"Ye feelin' alrigh, lass?" Conner asked, noticing his wife with her head on her arms. He walked over and put his arms around her.
"Yeah. Just tired." Aerin tamped down the urge to throw up and smiled at Conner.
"'Twould do ye good ta get some rest while we're gone today." Conner ran his hands up and down her arms.
"I'll try." She said and turned on her stool and buried her head in his chest. "Promise me you'll come back today. You and your brother."
"Lass, ye know tha' nothin' will happen ta us." Conner leaned down and pressed his lips to her forehead. Her green eyes were staring at him and he sighed at how scared they looked. "Ye canna take down a Macmanus."
"A bullet can." She frowned. "Just be careful."
"Aye, we will." He nodded.
"Let's get the cars loaded up, Conn." Merle said and they left the room, leaving the girls alone.
"That was close." Carol said, stirring the eggs in the skillet.
"Yep. We have to be more careful." Andrea agreed. She turned the oatmeal off and poured honey and brown sugar into it.
"Seriously, guys. My dad's delivering my baby." Maggie was still outraged. "How gross is that?"
"You could teach Glenn how to do it." Andrea smiled. "I bet he could handle it."
"That's even worse." Maggie sighed and put her head back down with a thunk. "I obviously didn't think this through."
"Not so much." Carol rubbed Maggie's shoulder and began dishing the eggs up. Aerin pulled herself off the stool and poured coffee into the styrofoam travel cups that they had stolen from a warehouse store. She knew they all drank their coffee black so she put the lids on. Carol and Andrea were dishing up plates and Maggie was carrying them out to the table. It didn't take long for the men to finish their breakfast and the girls stood and watched as they pulled away from the school, all hoping that this wasn't the last time they would see their men.

"This better fuckin' work." Murphy grumbled to his brother as the Governor's town came into sight. He checked the chamber of his gun and stuck it back in his holster.
"'Twill work." Conner said, wishing he was as sure as he sounded. "Get tha' white flag ready."
"Flag?" Murphy laughed. "Ye mean Aerin's tank top?"
"Whatever tha fuck 'tis." Conner looked over at Murphy. "Get it out tha fuckin' window."
"Aye, calm tha fuck down." Murphy rolled his window down and stuck the white tank top out. He waved it around as Conner stopped the Armada just outside the gates of the town. Three men with guns jumped down from the wall and walked over, rifles pointed. Conner and Murphy shared a look before they stepped out of the Armada, hands raised.
"Who the fuck are you?" One of the men, a huge black man, called.
"We have news for tha Governor." Conner said, hands still up.
"News about what?" The black man asked.
"News about Martinez. I think ye migh' wan' ta get him." Murphy said, lowering his hands and leaning against the hood of the Armada.
"Martinez is dead. How do you know him?" One of the other guys asked.
"He isna dead." Conner pulled himself up on the hood of the Armada. He took Murphy's cue and decided to play this casual.
"Where the fuck is he?" The black man asked.
"Ye best get tha governor if ye wan' him back." Murphy directed and reached in his pocket for his cigarettes. He laughed when he saw the men get antsy. "Calm down, boys. I'm just havin' a cigarette." Murphy pulled two from the pack, lit them both and handed one to Conner.
"Thank ye, brother." Conner said, and sucked on the cigarette. "Which of ye will be headin' inside ta get tha governor? We don' have all day, ye know."
"I'll do it." One of the men grumbled and hurried back inside the walls of the town. Conner and Murphy smoked their cigarettes and watched the other two men stare at them.
"Ye boys happy here?" Murphy asked. "Tha governor treat ye well?"
"What the fuck do you care?" The black guy asked, glaring at them.
"Just makin' conversation." Murphy shrugged. He took a drag on his cigarette and tilted his head to the side. "For such a happy man, ye seem awfully jumpy."
"Fuck you, you stupid mick." The black man said, glaring at Murphy.
"Do ye really need ta bring race into it?" Murphy sighed, shaking his head.
"Murph, tha's enough." Conner warned.
"Aye, fine." Murphy rolled his eyes but kept his mouth shut. They both looked up when the Governor appeared on top of the wall. Conner slid off the Armada and the brothers stood united as the Governor jumped down and walked over to stand next to his men.
"What can I do for you gentlemen?" The man said, a friendly smile on his face.
"We have Martinez." Conner took his last drag on his cigarette and dropped it to the ground. He toed it out with his boot and looked up at the governor.
"Martinez is dead." The Governor said, hands on his hips.
"No, he isna." Murphy rolled his eyes. "We have him. Ye left him ta die after we busted up yer plan ta kill those soldiers."
"I'm not sure what you're talking about, son." The Governor pasted an innocent smile on his face.
"Cut tha shit, man." Conner said. "If ye want yer man, ye'll meet us in Fayetteville. Center of town, main street."
"Why would I want him back? If he's even still alive?" The Governor asked.
"He knows a lot about you. We coul' make him talk, get all yer secrets." Murphy said in a sing song voice. "Migh' be in yer best interest ta take him back. We'd hate ta have ta come back and wage war on yer little town."
"As if you could." The Governor scoffed.
"We made ye run like a little bitch yesterday, mate." Conner said. "Try us if ye dare, but I can assure ye that ye willna come out tha winner."
"Two Irish micks are going to take down my whole town?" The Governor laughed.
"We killed an entire mob family in Boston. I doubt your town will give us any trouble." Murphy said.
"You're a long way from Boston, son." The Governor couldn't hide the shade of fear that fell across his eyes. "We aren't exactly the mob. Just some innocent people trying to survive in this hellish world."
"Ye may not be tha mob, but ye'll certainly bleed tha same. And as for innocent, ye are far from it." Conner said. "We've been watchin' ye, mate. Goin' out and robbin' innocent people. Killin' folks for just being in yer way."
"You don't know anything." The Governor was indignant.
"Fayetteville. One o'clock." Murphy said and he and Conner turned their backs on the Governor and got in the Armada. Conner started it and pulled away in a hurry.
"I think that went well." Conner laughed as he sped down the deserted road.
"Aye, we migh' have scared him just a bit." Murphy agreed.
"Good, that creepy bastard has it coming." Conner said and turned down the road that would lead them to Fayetteville. They had some killing to get ready for.
***TWD***BDS***
Conner and Murphy were waiting in the middle of the road at one o'clock, Martinez between them. He was bitching and crying up a storm and Murphy was toying with the thought of knocking him out just for the hell of it. Damn fool didn't know when to shut the hell up. Murphy glanced up to the top of the grain elevator. He couldn't see Merle but he knew he was there, the high powered sniper rifle armed and ready for the Governor. Daryl, Glenn, T, and Michonne were situated around the center of the town, out of sight but ready to jump in when the bullets started flying.
"Ye ready for this, my dear brother?" Conner asked when the Governor's truck came into view.
"Aye, let's do some gratuitous violence." Murphy nodded. He gave Martinez a shake and rolled his eyes. What a pussy. The brothers were on high alert as the truck stopped in front of them. The Governor and the same three men from earlier stepped out, guns already out and pointed.
"Martinez, you're not looking so good, my friend." The Governor said in a friendly tone. Martinez shut up immediately and had the good sense to look ashamed. "You have no idea how disappointed I am that you went and got yourself took." The Governor stopped in front of them and was only silent for a second before a bullet ripped through his head. Before the other guys could even react, Merle had shot the large black man. An arrow flew uncomfortably close to Conner's head and slammed through the eye of one of the men. Murphy already had his gun out and shot the Governor's other man.
"Tha' was way too easy." Conner muttered, pulling his gun out and putting a bullet in Martinez's head.
"I wanted ta kill tha' noisy bastard." Murphy grumbled.
"He left most of his men back at the town." Daryl said, coming over and kicking the Governor's dead body.
"That's great." Glenn groaned. "What are we supposed to do now?"
"Ye almos' took my head off, ye fuckin' redneck." Conner pushed Daryl in the shoulder.
"Fuck you. I was never even close to you." Daryl rolled his eyes. "Stop being a pussy."
"Aye, Conn. Calm tha fuck down." Murphy laughed.
"Fuck ye." Conner flipped his brother off.
"We need to bring him back to his town." Michonne spoke up. "The other men will stand down if they know the leader is dead."
"I think you're right, black beauty." Merle said as he walked up to them. "Did you guys see that shooting? Damn, I'm good."
"You're a real crackshot, Merle." Daryl shook his head. "Those gunshots are gonna draw the walkers. We need to figure this shit out."
"Tie him to the front of his truck. I'll drive it up to the gates. You guys hide outside the gates and we'll draw the men out. Anyone who's willing to shoot at a female needs to be killed." Michonne said, her hands on her slim hips. They all gaped at her, this was the most any of them had heard her say.
"What about the rest of the people?" T asked. "We can't just leave a bunch of women and children alone there."
"Fuckin' bleedin' hearts." Merle groaned. He hefted the Governor up and motioned for Daryl to help him heave the dead body on the front of the truck. Glenn appeared with some rope and they lashed him to the windshield. Michonne waited impatiently as the men decided where they would be hiding.
"Can you hens figure it out so we can get on with this?" Michonne drawled, her eyes amused at the guys surrounding her.
"Black beauty's getting some big britches today." Merle turned and glared at her.
"You're lucky I like Andrea, Merle, or I'd take your head off for calling me that." She waved her Katana blade at him. Merle was speechless as he stared at her.
"Get in the fuckin' truck then." Merle finally sputtered. "Let's end this."
"About damn time." Michonne said and shut herself in the truck before Merle could say anything else. She watched as they all drove off and waited the decided upon twenty minutes before she followed. It was sort of macabre to be driving around with a dead man strapped to the front of her vehicle, but all in all it wasn't even in the top ten of the strange things she had done since the end of the world. Michonne drove down the road leading to the town and she could see men on the wall staring in her direction. She could pinpoint the exact moment they realized that the Governor was dead by the amount of hysteria that commenced. She was laughing as she stopped the truck and hopped down to the ground.
"Who the hell are you?" A man called. She eyed him with a sad look. He barely looked old enough to drive. "What have you done to the Governor?"
"He's obviously dead." Michonne said, her hand on the gun at her hip.
"Where's Martinez?" The man/child asked, his eyes darting around.
"He's dead too." Michonne smiled at him.
"You killed them all?" Another man asked, this one looked meaner and older than the boy.
"Well not by myself." Michonne laughed. "I'm tough, but I'm not that tough."
"This isn't a fucking joke!" The man screamed and pulled his gun out. He pointed it at Michonne as he jumped off the wall. He came at her but before he could even think about pulling the trigger, his head exploded. Michonne threw herself behind the truck as gunfire burst out around her. She drew her gun and leaned out and took aim at one of the men who had jumped from the wall and was creeping her way. She squeezed the trigger and the man dropped to the ground. She slid along the back of the truck and looked out the other side. Another man was coming her way, but he was too close for the gun. She pulled the Katana sword from her sheath and with one swoosh, the man's head was rolling away from his swaying body. She pushed the body with the tip of her sword and it fell backwards.
"Damn, girlie, you're cold as ice." Merle called out as he darted from the woods to join her at the back of the truck.
"It was him or me." She shrugged and looked around. The gunfire had drawn most of the men outside of the wall and she could see bodies littering the ground now that the shooting was over.
"Please don't shoot me!" The boy from earlier cried out, his voice was terrified. Michonne rolled her eyes and strode out from behind the truck.
"Get up." She said, stopping at his side. "We won't hurt you."
"I don't even know how to use this gun." The boy cried, dropping the gun at Michonne's feet.
"What's your name?" She asked, bending down and picking up the gun. The fool boy hadn't even taken the safety off. With a shake of her head, she stuck the gun in the waistband at the back of her pants.
"N-N-Noah." The boy stuttered, hands up in surrender.
"How many more men are inside, Noah?" Michonne asked, helping the boy to his feet.
"Not that many." Noah said, his whole body shaking. "None that will shoot you."
"What's the deal?" Daryl asked, striding over with his crossbow still armed in his hands. "He a threat?"
"No." Michonne shook her head. "He says there aren't any men left that will shoot us."
"As if we can trust him." Daryl scoffed.
"You can trust me." Michonne sighed. "I trust him."
"Fine." Daryl glared. Everyone else soon ran over and went about stabbing heads to make sure the men didn't rise back up.
"We need tha girls." Murphy spoke up.
"The hell we do." Daryl said.
"They need ta be tha ones ta talk ta these people about their options." Conner spoke up. "We jus' killed all their men, ye really think they'll listen ta us?"
"They're right." Merle said. "These people think we're murderers."
"We kind of are." Glenn said, looking at the carnage surrounding them.
"Had to be done, Short Round." Merle said with a grim smile. "Gotta protect the women and children."
"Who's goin' ta tha school?" Murphy asked.
"Why don' ye and Daryl go?" Conner suggested. "Bring Aerin, Andrea, and Carol. Maggie if she's not doin' anythin'."
"Why the fuck do I have to go?" Daryl grumbled.
"Because you looked pissed off, baby brother. These people don't need you glowering at 'em while we're waiting." Merle said.
"Fine." Daryl shouldered his crossbow and stomped down the road to where they had hidden the vehicles. Murphy followed after him. The other guys joined Michonne and Noah at the top of the wall where a number of people were gathering around. Michonne was doing her best to calm them down, but it was obvious they were extremely freaked out.
