Meet the Pines - A Gravity Falls Fanfiction...

Chapter 25
Little Wonders
Dipper ran as fast as he could back to the Museum Competition. Now that he knew he did have a future, he needed to save it before he messed it up once more, this was going to be amazing and hopefully Gideon would change as well. However Dipper stopped as soon as he entered the school and instantly remembered about the game this day. So he dropped everything and began to run outside to where the baseball field was holding a game.
Outside Dipper frowned when he saw that Gideon was really asleep in the outfield. By the looks of score board it was the ninth inning of the baseball game and the other team was up to bat. All Gideon's team needed was one final catch and they would win. Instantly the sound of the ball being hit made Dipper's head snap into reality and he looked over at Gideon who was still standing there sleeping, the ball was coming towards him!
"Gideon! Wake up!" Dipper shouted as Gideon's eyes snapped open and he stretched.
Gideon stretched his left hand out which ended up with him catching the ball. Everyone on the field on Gideon's team began to cheer and scream of happiness since Gideon caught the winning ball. They all ran to him and Gideon was lifted off his feet and up into the air. Dipper smiled to himself and began to turn around and walk back towards the Museum Competition where he knew both of their future's would be changed forever.
As soon as he made it into the building again, Dipper began to run to where he left his invention and once he reached it, he grabbed it and began to run towards the gym. Inside the gym everything was a mess from the horrible accident that went on earlier that day. Frogs were still jumping everywhere, water was still all over the floor, displays were knocked over, and the teachers/judges were still here, which made Dipper happy.
"Mrs. Pines! I know what went wrong, can I please have one more chance!?" Dipper asked in excitement as Mrs. Pines thought for a moment.
"My rides not here yet! So why not!?" Mrs. Pines exclaimed with a smile.
Dipper set up his invention once more on a table near by that wasn't knocked over. Everyone in the gym gathered around as Dipper pulled the cover off of the giant bird that was attached to many weirs and other gismos. The bird stood there like a statue not moving and when Dipper turned towards the machine he twisted two toes of the bird, and twisted one of the ears. Instantly the bird began to flap it's wins and open it's mouth.
"Okay I'm going to need a volunteer." Dipper said with a smile as he turned to look at everyone, Mrs. Pines raised her hand.
"So what do I do?" Mrs. Pines asked as she walked up to Dipper.
"Well place this on." Dipper said as he handed her a helmet, "Then I need a date to import that you can remember." Dipper said with happiness.
"Well there was the first time I won my first Science Award, the first time I watched iCarly, or the first time I swam the English Channel..." Mrs. Pines said with thought. "Oh I know..." Mrs. Pines stated as she turned and began to whisper into Dipper's ear.
"It's perfect!" Dipper said with a smile as he began to punch some numbers into the machine he had wrapped around his neck.
The machine powered up and a small twirl of black and white lights came along the small screen that was inside of the birds mouth. The bird flapped it's wins and a small picture came onto the screen. Dipper heard everyone gasped in amazement and it made him smile, one of his inventions actually worked. However on the screen was a picture of Mrs. Pines looking at a box full of frogs that she unwrapped for Christmas.
"Oh it's amazing!" Mrs. Pines squealed with delight.
"Candy!?" Dipper asked in shock as he turned and looked at the young women in front of him, he smiled.
"That's right." Mrs. Pines said with a smile. "...And boy your invention works!" Mrs. Pines added once more.
"Where is he!?" A voice asked as a person came into view. "Kid we'd like to do an interview on you, you have a bright future a head of you."
"Yeah, I do..." Dipper said with a smile as he looked at Candy with a smile.
