Spring Affairs
"I still cannot believe that I got roped into this." Carly was ready for this to be over.
"Considering that Corinthos Morgan had the most successful Easter Eggstravaganza weekend ever, it isn't surprising that other planners have reached out for pointers." Nadine said with a chipper grin. She had been enjoying getting a behind the scenes look at how things came together.
"I keep telling everyone that had very little to do with me." Carly said passing the buck. "That weekend being so successful was mostly Liz."
"That isn't close to being true and you know it." Liz just gave her friend a look. "Yes I worked hard, but I didn't do it all. Not even close."
"I was very happy that I could help this year." Nadine had brought a notebook to each meeting. She loved being home with Aiden, but at the same time she missed being able to help others. She was starting volunteering with this project. When it was all done she was meeting with Lila to talk about working at the foundation part time, because Nadine didn't want to the return to the hospital.
"You can't ask for a better mentor than Liz." Carly looked across the table at her friend and smiled. The petite brunette was simply too adorable with that baby belly. Despite complaining Carly had no problem helping out this year. She wanted to make sure that Liz didn't get taken advantage of. "How hard was it to get out of the house?"
"Not too hard." Liz answered trying not to laugh. "Jason is at the office today. So I didn't even have to sneak out." Her husband didn't try to keep her in the house. He got that she had a life, but she would be lying if she said he wasn't happiest when she stayed at home. She was pretty sure this was the nesting instinct kicking in. Considering what she did for a living most days he got his wish. Even when she stayed home she tried to go for a walk to get some fresh air, if the weather allowed.
"How did you get past Ritchie?" Nadine asked her friend. "Reggie pretty much reported every move I made to Johnny." Which was why she now had a new guard. Nadine didn't complain about much, but Reggie had to go.
"Ritchie can be bribed with an entire pan of brownies." Liz said smiling wide. That wasn't even close to being true and the other ladies would know it. Her guard didn't take chances where she was concerned, and she didn't misbehave. One guard lost his life protecting her that was not something she ever wanted to have happen again.
"Where is Chloe?" Carly asked checking her watch. She didn't have a lot of patience where her fellow blonde was concerned.
"The amount of time you have to work with her is almost over." Liz was kind of surprised Carly agreed to come in the first place. Up until this point they hadn't been in the same room at the same time. All contact had been through their assistants. Carly and the world famous designer didn't get along so no one was in a rush to change that.
"I have been fine. We are only having this one face to face meeting to wrap everything up." Carly could be mature for the next couple of hours. It's amazing how much she had grown from the hellion who came to town. "I'll fill you in later." She told Nadine.
"You don't have to." The former nurse was curious but knew how to keep her nose out of other folks business.
"I don't mind. Mostly because I didn't do anything wrong." Carly said laughing. That statement was totally true. She could also share it because it didn't involve her making a fool off herself because of a guy. Chloe had been jealous of the friendship between Jax and Carly. That's all it was, a friendship. There was no romantic interest between Carly and the Australian billionaire. She had no interest in a work place romance especially with her boss. She still ended up getting let go as the manager of Club 101 due to that jealousy. What stung the most for Carly was that she had worked for Jax for over a year before Chloe entered his life.
That was enough to ensure a bad relationship going forward because Carly was totally holding a grudge. It also caused both Sonny and Jason to not do business with the Australian. Neither Jax nor Chloe generally came to Quartermaine family functions because of that underlying tension. The Halloween gala was usually the only place they socialized together, but even there they rarely spoke.
"What are your guys doing while you are out?" Liz asked her friends. She didn't know if Sonny or Johnny were working today. Both women just smirked. "What am I missing?"
Nadine and Carly had lunch together last week. They spent a good amount of time laughing at their guys. "They are at work." Nadine took the question. "Which is the only reason they aren't out shopping."
"For what exactly?" Liz still got the impression that she was missing something. "They both shop regularly for many things."
"Sonny and Johnny are competing to be the godfather of your children." Carly said with a growing smile. "Sonny has spent the better part of the last couple of weeks trying to find the perfect gift to bribe you with."
"So has Johnny." Nadine gave up and started laughing. "The night you announced that you guys were expecting, and the next couple of days after that, he pestered me for all your favorite things. In the hopes of going out to get it, and yes win your vote. I told him he was on his own."
"I told Sonny the same thing." Carly was staying out of that mess. Kelly was probably going to end up killing Sonny, Johnny, or the both of them. "He's on his own."
"I'm not making the decision alone. I'm also not for sale." Liz said with a shrug.
Nadine looked at Carly and started laughing harder. "Jason told them that you were the deciding vote." Carly threw her friend under the bus. Okay, not totally under the bus so she kept going. "He did that so you would get nice gifts."
"I don't need gifts." Liz just shook her head. Jason was probably laughing his very fine behind off at his friends.
"Nope, you don't." Nadine agreed with her friend. "But take them anyway. Both Sonny and Johnny have really good taste. I'm not one for being overly materialistic, but you need to take them for all that you can get. There is a learning opportunity here."
"I'm with Nadine." Carly was nodding her agreement. The owner of Deception already knew Liz wasn't going to do any such thing. It just wasn't who she was. "Sonny is going high end. Get the gifts now especially since you and Jason are not going to be requesting gifts at the shower."
"We never said that." Liz hadn't discussed the shower with anyone. Sarah was going to plan it, with the help of the other ladies, so there wasn't anything to discuss. Liz would be thrilled with whatever they did.
"Please, Jason is too much of a control freak to not buy all the baby items himself. He wants what he wants and the way to ensure he gets it is to purchase it." Carly said calling Jason out because Sonny had been the same way. "The hospital and whatever charities you pick will get nice checks because of that." Which is also what they did.
"You not keeping the profits from your books kind of tipped your hand." Nadine explained another way they figured it out. She and Johnny had used their shower as a fundraiser too. Her family and friends from back home sent actual gifts which they also happily received.
"Diane and Lila will be the only ones to break the rule." Carly commented checking her watch again. "Your kids are going to be very well dressed." The lawyer always bought clothing.
Lila would gift something that showed off her incredibly good taste. Jason's grandmother gave Carly the most beautiful pendant with Michael's birthstone, and linens for the nursery. She had cried almost all day after getting the items. Then she cried more when she learned the pendant had been in Lila's family for several generations.
"Diane will only bend the rule because Shawn will still make a donation, and the clothes won't arrive until after the babies are born." Nadine chimed in. "Aiden always looks well put together." The lawyer had gifted more clothes at his first birthday party. "Lila is the rebel, she's going to come to the shower with her gift and everyone will be envious of what she gives you." Johnny had to do a fair amount of translating because the prayer embroidered on the blanket and antique cross they had been given where in Gaelic. It meant a lot to her guy to see his native tongue in the nursery. He had actually ended crying.
"Since Chloe likes you, there is a chance you'll get more clothes than Nadine and I. You'll probably get stuff from her maternity and children's lines." Carly saw another way she had grown up. She wasn't bothered that Chloe and Liz were friends. Carly didn't need to have her pregnant friend pick sides.
"When are the gifts from your guys coming?" Liz was going to try to see if Jason could put on the brakes.
"Imminently." Carly answered the question. She had no clue when Sonny was going to actually buy something but she wasn't going to say that. Especially since Liz was going to try to put a halt to what the guys were doing. "Striking first blood is key." Her grin turned feral. "It's going to be like a chess match. Move and countermove until you name your godparents. Should be fun to watch."
"No pressure though." Liz just shook her head. She and Jason hadn't even talked about picking godparents yet.
"No pressure. Don't let the gifts make you feel that way. Think of it like you are badass and this is your due. You're having two babies at once, you've earned it." Nadine grinned and looked at Carly. Over lunch they had both admitted to not expecting to get named as godparents, and they were fine with that. Both Jason and Liz had siblings who would probably get the nod. No matter what these babies would have lots of aunts and uncles ready to spoil them. "And like Carly said, this is going to be a lot of fun for us."
"Collect your swag, and ignore all the rest." Carly couldn't wait to see what Sonny bought. She might have to drop some hints of things Liz would like, but wouldn't buy for herself. Or ask Jason to get for her. The woman was just too low maintenance.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Chloe said walking into the room. Working with Carly wasn't ideal, but it needed to happen. Chloe was extremely competitive and she wanted Morgan Designs to outshine Corinthos Morgan. The only way to do it was to work with the ladies in the room. Particularly Elizabeth. However after talking with Liz it became clear that Carly was essential as well.
The only reason Chloe didn't feel petty was because Carly was going to want her title back the next time her turn came round. Them competing was good for the charities this event benefited because they would be bringing in more money each year. Chloe just had to find a way to coexist with Carly during the planning stage. The fact that they were only having this one meeting with them both in attendance helped greatly with that. The only thing Chloe felt bad about was trapping Liz between them.
"It's fine. We were just catching up." Liz expected to do most of the talking today, especially in the beginning. Carly would stay quiet because she might not be able to rein in the snark. Nadine would speak up before the meeting concluded, she just needed to relax and trust her instincts. Liz was thinking the former nurse was going to excel at this type of work. "We should get started though because we are all busy. We've been sitting here awhile already."
Carly was surprised that Liz gave their hostess that not so subtle chastisement. Her friend was generally the peace keeper of the group, but on the other hand it was rude to just have them sitting here without even sending someone to say why they were waiting. Watching Chloe flush some in embarrassment made it all worthwhile though.
"Yes, we should." Chloe didn't mind making Carly wait. However the annoying blonde wasn't alone, so the slight dressing down was earned. Chloe would apologize to Liz and Nadine once the meeting ended. "Let me tell you the final schedule for the events over the weekend, and then we can open the table up to a discussion."
Over at the offices of Corinthos Morgan a meeting was also getting ready to take place. Sonny was sitting in the boardroom just waiting for everyone to arrive. No one was running late, he was just early. And on his phone because he was looking for a gift. "You could just tell me what to get."
Jason got himself some coffee and took a seat. "What fun will that be? Do you know how much enjoyment I'm getting from watching you and Johnny run around looking for gifts? I cannot wait to see who buys the first gift, and what it is. Plus I'm thinking at some point one of you will throw me a gift too."
"Now the truth comes out." Sonny put his phone down because they would be starting shortly.
"I'm surprised Elizabeth hasn't gotten anything yet." Jason leaned back in his chair. He had a suspicion why, and waited to hear what his partner had to say.
"Carly refused to help me, so I'm going it solo." Sonny admitted popping out his dimples.
"Thought so." Jason gave into the laughter. "I think Johnny is in the same boat."
"Not buying gifts for one another is making this harder." The adults in the group didn't exchange gifts unless it was something major. The last time the Morgans got a haul was at their wedding. Sonny had some ideas though. "I won't even have to get something for the shower because you guys will do the charity thing." He and Carly would get the babies something cute after they arrived. "So my bribes will need to be good. No hints?"
"No." Jason gave a slick grin as he took a drink. The door opened and the guys started filing in. Their meetings rarely started late unless things in the territory were off. He nodded as the guys got drinks and sat down. Sonny would do most of the talking which was fairly normal. Jason did wonder just how what they discussed here today was going to change things going forward.
"Morning." Sonny said once everyone was seated. They were in the boardroom because they wouldn't fit in either his or Jason's office. Francis, Johnny, Shawn, Cody, Marco, Renaldo, and Max were with them. "I'm just going to get to it." Rarely did they have long meetings. "Maximus called and requested we put forward the names of those in our organization that might be ready to head families."
Around the table the guys just looked at one another. These calls were not unusual, but the fact that so many of them were around the table was odd. "How many names?" Francis asked his boss.
"We can submit three names." Sonny told the table. "Jason and I don't want to submit names without talking it over with you first. Any one of you could run a territory and do it well. What we need to know is if anyone here doesn't want to. Putting you in a position where you have unwanted leadership placed on you isn't fair. If you are interested then we will put your name up for consideration."
"There are seven of us here but only three slots." Cody looked at his friend. No one would take it as a personal slight if they didn't make the cut, but he was still curious as to why so many of them had been called in.
"If you all say yes, then Jason and I will make the final decision. It will come down to skill and just how hard it will be to lose you." Sonny said being honest. "No one is expendable but Jason and I consider you all to be essential." There would be a temporary gap to fill if any of them left, but they would adjust and move on.
"At the same time, we don't want to hold anyone back." Jason said finally speaking up. "There is nothing wrong with you wanting to lead a family, and every man in this room will have our support if that is a goal of yours."
"Just remember, us putting your name in doesn't guarantee you getting a territory." Sonny was thinking that at least one of the men they put up for consideration would get the nod. His crew was outstanding. "Let's start by asking who doesn't want to be put on the list."
"Me." Francis was smiling. "Which won't surprise either of you. Thank you for asking though." It was a sign of respect that they would. Francis also got that his bosses expected a couple of other men to turn him down. That explained the high number. "I have to consider Kelly's career. Leaving Port Charles is not an option. Also I'm not interested in running anything."
Both Sonny and Jason nodded.
"I'm out as well. For the same reason." Shawn told his bosses.
"You worry about Kelly's career?" Francis asked making everyone laugh.
"I do because I don't need to worry about Diane's." Shawn kept the joke going. His girlfriend wasn't going to want to move. He loved her enough to put her needs first. It also didn't hurt that he already had a great job where he was highly respected. So in the end he wasn't being hurt by his choice.
"I'm sure Kelly will thank you for that." Sonny said after he stopped laughing. So far this was going as they expected. "Who wants to go next?" He was thinking Johnny would be next, and Sonny expected to hear that the Irishman wanted to have his name submitted. So did Jason.
"I'm out." Johnny announced to the room.
"Really?" Jason didn't hide that he was surprised. He could see Sonny wasn't hiding his surprise either. "Can I ask why?"
"I've got a baby." Johnny didn't regret making this choice. There was not a single part of him that felt he would be missing out on anything. "I know how this works. Maximus calls up and tells you where you will now be living. You pack up and go, no discussion. There are places I do not want to take my girl and son. Leaving them behind is not an option." Johnny could have Nadine and Aiden stay here if the place he was being sent to was dangerous. Jason and Sonny would keep them safe. That was not in doubt. Johnny just didn't want to be separated from his family.
"I can mention your concerns to Maximus." Sonny told his friend, but Johnny was right. Maximus sent you where he needed you. With Johnny being such a strong leader he might get put somewhere that needed someone who could bring the area back under control.
"He will listen, then he will do what he needs to." Johnny respected the Don and that was one of the reasons why. Business was just that, and favorites were not a part of that. "I'd rather stay here. I don't want to risk it."
"Can't blame you." Francis already knew Johnny didn't care what anyone else though, but he wanted his friend to know he had support. They all knew guys who got their own territory and it didn't work out well. Sometimes even ending up with them getting taken out, although Maximus always supported the new families.
"That leaves the four of you." Sonny looked down the table. The top tier of their organization wasn't changing.
"I'd like to have my name put in." Cody would not have ever walked into Sonny's or Jason's office to ask for his own territory. However since they were offering their support it was something he could consider. Changes in his personal life also made this a good time for this.
"We'll put your name in." Sonny would have questioned this decision if Cody was newly single, but he and Lainey broke up over a month ago. So this wasn't him being impulsive. "Who else?"
"I'd like to have my name put in." Renaldo felt he was in a good place for this. He had been trained well, and he thought he could run a territory.
"So would I." Max just put it out there. Of all the guys at the table he would have the most to prove if he got picked. He would have to show everyone that he wasn't getting a territory because his father was the Don. However he had been sent here to be trained to be a leader, so now they could see if that training had worked. At some point Milo would face the same decision.
"What about you Marco?" Sonny looked at the only man they hadn't heard from.
"I've never even thought about running my own territory." Marco could admit that. "Since you mentioned why the meeting was called I've been sitting here thinking about it." He went through his thought process. "First of all thank you for having faith in me, probably more than I have in myself." He said grinning. "But I'm going to have to pass. I don't think I'm ready." He got that he had to believe in himself as much as his bosses did. "I get that there is no guarantee this opportunity will come again, but I just can't."
Sonny just looked at Jason, he would let his partner take this one.
"You're welcome." Jason started there. "Life in general doesn't hold guarantees, but if you continue to work at the level you do now you'll be here again. Probably the next time Maximus calls us. If you feel you aren't ready, then we respect that. I know how you are feeling because I was terrified when I became a boss. So if you want to talk, you know where to find me. In fact I'm going to recommend you come talk with me because you would be a great boss. I don't say that lightly. We just want you to know that if you decide that leaving just isn't for you, then we are happy to have you stay." Men like Marco made an organization strong.
"Cody, Renaldo, and Max we will submit your names. There is no guarantee that you'll get picked, or that you are going to go somewhere amazing. Everyone wants tropical, but first time out you don't get that." Sonny warned his guy. Their first territory would be small just to make sure they could run things. If they did well then they would be rewarded with either an expansion or a new location.
"How long before we hear back?" Cody wanted to know.
"No clue." Sonny admitted with a shrug. "This is a first for us as well. I can promise you that as soon as we hear something we will let you know."
"Until then it's business as usual." Jason wasn't going to tell the guys they had to stay quiet. This was their news to do with as they would. Odds were good that they wouldn't say anything unless they got picked. "Which is another way of saying the meeting is over, go find something to keep you out of trouble." He finished up grinning.
"I have some ideas about that." Johnny was still doing research on what to get Liz.
When it was just them Jason looked at his partner. "How many of our guys are you thinking will get picked?" They were putting forth some strong contenders.
"Two." Sonny wasn't going to say which ones because he didn't want to jinx anything. "I was surprised by Johnny."
"I think two as well." Jason would say whom after Maximus made his decisions. "I was surprised as well, but I get it. Now more than I would have this time last year."
"I'm proud of him. That was a very mature answer." Sonny thought he couldn't respect his friend more, but he learned differently today. "It's too bad I'm going to have to crush him when it comes to being the godfather to your children."
"On that note, I'll leave you to your shopping." Jason grabbed his mug and stood up. He would go do some work. He wanted to leave on time and hear about how Elizabeth's meeting went.
"How was the meeting?" Ritchie asked opening the passenger door of the car. He had to switch from his SUV to an armor plated Mercedes because getting in and out of the bigger car was difficult. He knew it was coming because both Carly and Nadine had done so. They made it further into their pregnancies than Liz did though. "I don't see any blood splatter."
Liz laughed as she got settled in the car. "Carly was on her best behavior. She's more likely to throw a punch than Chloe. I didn't know you were aware they didn't get along."
"Max told me, with him not coming along he didn't want me to be caught off guard." Ritchie explained as he started the car. Max was in a meeting with both their bosses, so Carly had a sub.
"It went well, and this is the only time they will be in a room together. Not counting the gala, so you guys can stand down." Liz said with a bright smile. "If they go at it during the opening ball then that's not your concern because you'll have your hands full keeping me out of trouble."
"It's a struggle." Ritchie said laughing. "Lucas's house now?"
"Yup." Liz was almost out of steam. She had just enough for this stop. "I'm super excited that Felix is moving to Port Charles." She had a gift to drop off. There was going to be a party later in the month but Felix was arriving tomorrow and she wanted something nice to be waiting to greet him. In addition to something just for her friend there was a gift for the couple, and something for the house.
This was going to be a quick visit because Lucas wasn't actually home. Bobbie was over receiving deliveries for her son and his boyfriend. They would have a chat but Carly's mom was going to want to get Liz to go home and rest. It was running theme with all the medical folks.
"I'm going to take vitamins so I can keep up with the two of you. I figure since you can't run around much at the moment I have time to get in shape." Ritchie joked as he drove them to Lucas's place.
"Smart. It won't help though." Liz said with a wicked grin. It was going to be a great summer.
Jason was parking in the garage when his phone rang. "Hi Mom."
"Hi. How are you?" Monica was in her office taking a break. Sometimes it felt wonderful to just have a seat.
"I'm good." Jason was already grinning. "And now that you've been polite you can ask what you really wanted to know."
"I'm your mother Jason, and I love you." Monica knew she was busted.
"Uh huh." He said getting out of the car.
"How are Elizabeth and the babies?" Monica really did want to know this.
"They are fine. She saw Kelly a few days ago, and we got the all clear. Elizabeth is a little underweight, but not anything to worry about." Jason passed along. A minor adjustment to the caloric intake plan was put into place but Kelly hadn't been upset.
"Good. We were wondering if you two would like to come to dinner tomorrow." Monica had already extended the invitation to Carolyn and Jeff.
"Let me check with my wife, and if we are free I will call you back." Jason didn't think they had plans but considering that his wife was with Carly and Nadine today that might have changed.
"Good. Also have you spoken to Em recently? I can't seem to find my daughter unless she is working." Monica knew residents clocked a lot of hours but she was starting to get the impression Emily was avoiding her for some reason.
"I haven't seen Em since dinner last month. I've called the house a few times and talked to Dante he said they are good. Calls to Em have gotten me text messages back." Jason wasn't overly concerned because he knew his sister's life revolved around the hospital at the moment. He made sure to keep in contact with his brother and sister but his focus didn't extend much past Elizabeth and work right now, in that order. "Invite her and Dante to dinner, we don't mind sharing."
"More like you want someone else for us to talk to." It was Monica's turn to bust her son. None of the other kids were coming to dinner because the parents wanted to focus on the expectant parents. "Give Liz a hug for us."
"Will do." Jason said as they ended the call and he stepped into the foyer of his home. "Hey."
"Hey." Ritchie was slipping into his jacket. "Liz is in the den."
"Asleep?" Jason was guessing.
"Out cold." Ritchie wasn't surprised by that. "She didn't nap this morning because she wanted to do some work before leaving to go to the meeting. Then when we swung by Lucas's place Bobbie insisted on Liz sitting and having something to drink. Mrs. Spencer said Liz looked dry, I have no idea what that means but I don't question nurses."
"Which led to them talking." Jason saw where this was going.
"Liz came home did a little bit more work and then it got really quiet in the den." Ritchie reported grinning. "I put a blanket over her. She's been asleep for about forty-five minutes now."
"Thank you." Jason appreciated that Ritchie was looking out for Elizabeth. "We'll be in for the rest of the night, and tomorrow. There may be a trip to the mansion tomorrow night. I'll send you a text."
"I'll be around if you need anything." Ritchie said before leaving.
Jason hung up his jacket, put away his gun, and went to look for his girl. She was beautiful, sometimes he thought his brain was playing tricks on him because no one could be that beautiful. Then he saw his wife again and she always managed to knock his world off its axis. He was having one of those moments where it was hard to believe she was his. He made himself leave the den because if he stayed he was going to end up kissing her or touching her and she needed to rest.
To keep himself busy he would go into the kitchen and call Emily, then start prepping dinner. He was becoming a whiz at incorporating bacon into dishes. What amazed him was that it really was true that the breakfast staple made almost everything better. So far he hadn't been brave enough to try bacon in desserts, but it wasn't an issue because they didn't eat sweets every day. A quick rummage through the cabinets had him deciding what to cook. With that settled he went to call his sister.
"That was delicious." Liz smiled at her hubby across the table. "Grilled chicken with bacon Fettuccini Alfredo. We should have this again soon." She got up and walked over to where he was sitting, but the time she got there he had pushed back his chair. Making herself comfortable on his lap she gave him a kiss. "You take really good care of us, thank you."
"You're welcome. I told Mom to make sure bacon was on the table tomorrow night." Jason placed his hand on her stomach and rubbed a bit. The hum of pleasure that came from his wife said that she was enjoying it.
"I'm sure Cook will be pleased at being told what to make." Liz said laughing.
"She likes you, so you and Lila will be fine. The rest of us need to worry though." Jason loved the sound of his wife's laughter. "Have you spoken to Emily recently? I think my mother is worried about her."
"No, we've been exchanging text messages." Liz was used to that. "I can ask Sarah if Em is okay. They worked together last week." Sarah had been excited to have Emily on her service.
"It's not that big of a deal. I'm sure if something was wrong your sister would speak up without prompting. I know that's one of the jobs of training new doctors. Mentioning if they are struggling in any way." Jason would let that go for now. "Have you felt the babies moving yet?" Kelly said it would be soon.
"Not yet." Liz sighed in delight when his hand moved to another part of tummy and started to rub. "I'm rather impatient for it to happen. Once it does then I'll be impatient for you to feel it." They were told at the last appointment Jason would have to wait a while longer to feel that.
"I know how you feel." Since her lips were right there he kissed her. "I'm loving watching you be pregnant but I know once the babies are here I'll be able to be a part of everything. Does that make sense?"
"It does." Liz kissed him. "And it makes me love you more." He loved being a husband, and she knew what he was trying to express was that he couldn't wait to be a dad too. She also got that he didn't really feel like he was doing much right now, but that wasn't true. Not even close. "All three of us feel just how much you love us. I can't wait to meet our children, and I can't wait to watch you with them." She blinked but couldn't stop the tears. "Sorry."
"Don't be." He kissed her eyes before reaching for the napkin by his plate. "I was thinking that we should go upstairs, put on our pajamas, get under the covers and watch a movie or two." His wife used to get in some time on the treadmill about an hour or so after eating, but for now Kelly nixed that. The doctor said a little less exercise wouldn't be a bad thing.
"If I get under the covers I'm going to fall asleep." Liz could actually sleep right now if she sat on Jason's lap long enough. On busy days she should probably nap in the morning and then have a short rest in the afternoon. She did her best to make sure between all that sleeping she gave her husband some attention.
"That's fine." Jason said kissing her nose. "You don't need to feel guilty, my needs are being met." They were together just this morning.
"Okay. Let's clean up and then we can go upstairs." Liz said getting up, with a bit of assistance. "While we are straightening up the kitchen we can talk about what you've done where Sonny and Johnny are concerned."
Jason grinned at being busted and at her waddle as she walked away. It was too cute. When she fell asleep he would get out his tablet and work on the trip he was planning. Johnny took Nadine on something called a babymoon, and Jason was going to totally copy that idea. Kelly said to do it now because when Elizabeth hit the six month mark then traveling was not going to be permitted. So he was putting together some time away that she would love.
However at the moment there was explaining to do. Then there would be cuddling, which was not something he wanted to miss out on. He grabbed his plate and headed into the kitchen so they could get to it.
Thanks for the reviews, the follows, and the favorites!
