Videl had went to Gohans house flying with him, she was quiet pleased as she had made it the whole way there by herself instead of having to rely on Gohan carrying her or helping in some other way. They now stood in the centre of a large green field with her staring at Gohan intensely, his face showing an equal amount of intensity.
Gohan didn't speak at all as another part of him arrived and handed him a capsule. He quickly felt around, and a small smile graced his features when the brail indicated it was what he wanted it to be, but then he turned deadly serious once again.
"Videl, this training isn't easy but it is effective. It will push you much harder than I had intended to… well ever" Gohan admitted but still remained completely serious both in his tone and facial expression.
"Great!" Videl cheered joyfully, she wanted to get stronger and knew pushing herself harder was the best way to do this. Gohan didn't look pleased with that response, and strangely Videl felt compelled to continue, as if she needed to give the right answer. "I know it'll be hard but it'll be worth, I bet after a few weeks I'll be able to beat any android" she cheered but with less enthusiasm as she noticed he didn't get any less serious.
"Videl" he hesitated, knowing she wouldn't like what he was about to say to her, but also knowing he had to say it. If she didn't know how outclassed she was she would try to fight them, and that would not go well. "I think it's important you know exactly how much stronger each android is that you" Gohan began feeling a slight spike in her energy as he said it.
"I know they're a lot stronger than me Gohan, but after this training I'll be hundreds of times stronger and kick their asses so what does it matter" Videl got out through gritted teeth not liking that once again she was being treated like she was a weakling.
"If I do make you a hundred times stronger than they'll be… roughly ten thousand times stronger than you and that would be one of the weakest ones" Gohan explained complete seriously, she had to know that she couldn't win against them. He was only really training her so that she could run away as fast as possible, like Yamcha most likely will.
Videl was shocked, she knew she was outclassed from the first fight she had with one of them but, she didn't know by how much. She could never get so much stronger, a million times stronger just to be strong enough to not get into the way. It was hopeless. She knew he wasn't exaggerating either; Gohan wasn't really the time to do so often. So swallowing her pride and biting her tongue she waited for him to continue.
Gohan took her silence as acceptance of fact so continued. He quickly felt around the capsule in his hand for the plunger, then clicked his tongue to make sure nothing was in the clearing he had chosen, before pressing down on the plunger and throwing it into the clearing.
Videl didn't say anything, which Gohan knew was her way of saying she didn't know what it was; she rarely showed a lack of knowledge of anything unless absolutely necessary. "It can change the gravity so that you weigh up to one thousand times more than here in Earth" Gohan explained factually, the devices amazing level of technology was no longer impressive to him now that he had seen it so many times since he was a child.
"You want me to train in a thousand times gravity?" Videl yelled out trying to keep the panic out of her voice, and failing.
"No, no of course not, we'll start with two" Gohan answered with a laugh at her thinking he would do something like that.
"Where did you even get something like this? How does it work? Why didn't we use this from the start?" were but a sample of the questions asked by Videl.
Gohan didn't feel like explaining though so simply walked in, not even bothering to give her a signal to follow him. Videl followed him, hating that she was being ignored. But she soon stopped caring when she saw the interior.
The exterior was just a large dome on stands with capsule corp written across it-which she now realized answered the question as to where it can from- which didn't seem impressive at all. The interior was different though, it had shiny walls and strong floor tiles, the sound of her steps echoed lightly around the room but that wasn't what surprised her.
The centre of the room was an amazing technological gold mine, everything was touch screen as Gohan went to activate the gravitation she also noticed that it had several other functions which he ignored complete as he did what he had come to do.
It was so small but had so much on it, some of the functions appeared similar to apps on an IPod but she resisted the temptation to ask if they were like that for fear of looking stupid when they did something different. Upon closer observation she noticed that the touch screen was rough-no doubt brail was written across it- but was surprised that it moved about as he put in commands changing to different things in time with the many images.
She took a step forward but was stopped by Gohans surprisingly commanding voice. "Videl lie flat on your chest" he ordered not checking if she was doing as she was told, he knew she would.
As Gohan predicted Videl was too shocked by his commanding tone to do anything but what he said. Something she didn't regret when she realized she felt so much heavier. She was about to scream out when she remembered that's what the machine was meant to do.
"Ok, Videl are you ready for your first task?" Gohan asked showing a tiny bit of smile.
"Yes what is it" she asked enthusiastically even though she was clearly struggling to lift her head to look at him when she was responding.
"Ok your first task is to stand up"
