Ben were in his kitchen finishing up some dishes when there was a knock on his door, he walked to the door and opened it and there was corporal Mark Reynolds with an anxious look on his face,
"Reynolds, if you're here to see Maddy then she is not here this week she's with her mother" Ben said.
"No sir it is you I wanted to speak to" Mark said and Ben grew suspicious immediately,
"He's not going to ask for her hand in marriage already?" Ben thought
"Well sir since I'll be going on an OTG mission the day after tomorrow and won't be back for a couple of days, I'd like to take Mad...Miss Shannon on a date OTG" Mark said and Ben raised an eyebrow
"OTG is dangerous even for us soldiers kid" Ben said almost berating the younger man,
"Yes I know that's what I wanted to talk about, you see I've found a great place that I know she would love and if you are willing to help me then we could make it more secure" Mark explained
"So where is this place then?" Ben asked and Mark explained.
"Okay but we have to at least ask Elisabeth about this too you know and I could talk to Cronkite for some extra sonic mines we could place around that field" Ben answered after Reynolds had finished explaining.
Reynolds nodded "of course sir – I think Doctor Shannon is in the infirmary" he added,
"Well then just let me finish this up and we can go and talk to her" Ben replied,
Said and done after Ben had finished the dishes he and Reynolds walked to the infirmary he was late for his damn check up anyway which he was hoping to avoid.
When they were walking through the market one of the female soldiers Diana Shackleford from Ben's squads came up and smiled at him,
"Good to see ya in good health sir" Shackleford cooed at him while saluting,
"Yeah thanks Shackleford I'm fine" he responded and she smiled at him,
"Well maybe I'll see ya around sir!?" she again cooed and saluting again and walked away, and before Ben could even register what that was about another soldier Private Wilder...Joan Wilder walked past and saluted and even winked at him,
"What the hell is going on here?" Ben mumbled as Mark raised an eyebrow,
"What is it sir?" Mark queried but Ben just shook his head,
"Nothing Reynolds" Ben replied when he realised Reynolds were just as clueless as him.
When they finally got to the infirmary and Ben managed to get Liz away for a few minutes and explained to her what Reynolds wanted,
"I don't know...outside the gates is dangerous" Elisabeth said hesitantly
"I will ask Cronk for help and together with Reynolds we'll put some extra sonic mines around the area creating a safe perimeter – it's still within the perimeter Liz and Reynolds will be taking a rover" Ben reassured her and after a few moments she looked sternly at Reynolds
"Alright I will approve this but you must promise to never let anything happen to her!" she said to Mark, who straightened up,
"Don't worry Doctor Shannon; I won't let anything happen to her...ever!" Mark stated resolutely,
Elisabeth smiled and Ben smirked and started turning around when she raised her hand,
"BUT...you will first submit to that examination Ben" she said with a tone that left no room for protest,
"Can't we do that after this is fixed?" Ben whined and Elisabeth made a tutting sound and waved her finger in front of him,
"Now now Ben you promised to submit to this examination" she berated softly,
"Alright I'll do it but we have to start making that perimeter while there's sunlight" Ben relented,
"It's still morning Ben you have plenty of time and this will only take an hour to do" Elisabeth said,
"Plus I want to know what exactly they did to you so I can if need be able to remove that chip in your head" she added,
"Look I know how much you hate hospitals and doctors...but I DO want to help you Ben...besides with everything you've done for this family I think it is time I helped you" she continued adamantly, Ben smirked at her and nodded,
"That's my job Liz...to look after you Jim and the kids" he stated,
"Well even YOU need looking after once in a while...if only we had done that for you early enough..." she said despondently with sad eyes and he gently touched her shoulder,
"Liz what happened was my own choice...I made the choice to give myself to those population control creeps not you and not Jim" Ben stated,
Elisabeth could not say much more as she led him over to the special bio bed and had him lie down,
"Reynolds you go talk to Cronkite about this and then you two meet me up here after I'm through with this" Ben said before Elisabeth shoed Reynolds out of the room, and then started up the equipment.
Elsewhere Kono and Alicia were talking about when to have the wedding,
"I want Nathaniel to preside over the ceremony" Alicia said,
"I agree but I want both my brothers as best men" Kono countered and Alicia nodded,
"And in that case I want Maddy, Skye, Reilly and Elisabeth as maids of honour" Alicia re countered,
"But that's four maids of honour to my two best men?" Kono blurted in mock annoyance,
"Well you could add your nephew and Reynolds to best men then" Alicia smile devilishly and Kono laughed and kissed her,
"Okay then I'll go and talk to them all then" he said and walked away as Alicia walked off to try and find Doctor Shannon and then Skye.
Jim were at the command centre making his report to Taylor when Kono came barrelling in panting from the quick run between his house and the command centre,
"How in the HELLS can Bennyboy run like this every day at this speed and several times this length?" he thought before he remembered a few very important things Ben had always been a sort of neat freak and exercised at least once a day unless otherwise occupied and the only one in the colony that even rivalled that was Reynolds – AND he was also bionically enhanced, Kono had finally gotten his breathing under control when he noticed Jim and Taylor looking at him,
"Well Lieutenant, do you have something to say since you obviously had to run all the way here from...wherever you came?" Taylor queried half amused and even Jim smirked,
"I'd like to ask something of you both" Kono started and then explained everything,
"I'd be happy to preside over the ceremony" Taylor said and smiled widely,
"And I'm glad you wanted me as best man how could I refuse?" Jim said and the added;
"and I'm sure the other guys would be thrilled as well, I'll ask Josh for ya bro", Kono smiled and then did a hesitant salute to Taylor and walked out to look for Ben and hopefully Reynolds too.
At the infirmary Ben was suffering as Elisabeth took some blood samples and started up the biobed – Elisabeth rolled her eyes and smiled,
"OH! Stop being such a baby Ben, it can't be THAT uncomfortable?" she laughed,
"It is uncomfortable Liz – now what more have you found out about my...err body?" he stuttered,
"Well it seems since your muscles and bones are largely bionic BUT they seem to be just like organic organs they grow and have integrated with your body – I'm quite sure that IF organs such as these were put into the body of let's say a child with severe disabilities they would grow as the child grows evolve as the child evolves" Elisabeth practically rambled Ben looked at her brain locked,
"It means IF we could figure out how they managed to bond the bionic parts with the organic parts, without your body rejecting them we could save so many lives Ben" Elisabeth continued,
"Well I think we are finished here now Ben and you are clear for duty again" she finished and Ben nearly jumped off the bed looking really happy which made her laugh,
"Good I need to meet up with Reynolds and Cronkite...thanks for clearing me for active duty again" Ben said thankfully and were about to leave when Elisabeth stopped him,
"You know I have started calling him Mark – though he still insists at calling me Doctor or Mrs Shannon" she said,
"He's polite and follow the proper decorum and IF or WHEN the day comes and he gives Maddy a ring...then and ONLY then may I start calling him Mark and ONLY off duty" Ben stated,
"And of course that can only happen in about two years when she's eighteen not before..." he quickly added and Elisabeth chuckled,
"You really ARE a good father Ben, as I predicted all along" she said and Ben smiled,
"I do my best and can only hope it is enough, for Maddy deserves only the very best father figure – seeing she already have the perfect mom" Ben replied smiling and walked out, leaving Elisabeth with her thoughts smiling at what he had said, Ben had always doted on the children and now one of them had been proven to be his own child and despite his fears of becoming like his father Ben had stepped up and accepted the challenge, and children had always felt secure around him,
"He IS a good man and father even if he himself doubts it, Maddy seem happier and calmer than in a long time" she thought and continued examining the data.
Ben met Reynolds and Cronkite just outside the infirmary when Lieutenant Washington showed up,
"Hey Shannon, Reynolds, Cronkite!" she hailed with unusual happiness and smiled at them – all three stood at attention and saluted and she rolled her eyes,
"Is your sister in law at work?" she asked,
"Yes ma'am, she is" Ben replied,
After Wash had entered the infirmary Cronk turned and glared suspiciously at Ben,
"What's this about needing sonic mines?" he growled,
"Well Reynolds here are going to invite my daughter on a date in a field – it is inside the perimeter BUT we want to make it extra safe...just in case...AND I'll make it worth your while" Ben explained,
"You still owe me that dinner...sir" Cronkite countered,
"No problem...look I'll make ya that dinner myself full course including desert" Ben promised and Cronkite raised both eyebrows and Ben rolled his eyes,
"Why is it so hard for people to believe that I can cook?" he sighed,
"I don't doubt ya laddie I was just surprised you'd cook for me" Cronkite replied with a smirk,
"Alright I'll help ya with this little thing then" Cronkite said and added "Could you make some form of haggis?" he asked,
"Okay but it will have to be made with vegetables and fish or beetles or all three" Ben said and Cronkite nodded and all three started off as Ben heard a familiar voice,
"BEN!" a child voice squeaked and as Ben turned around only to have Leah Marcos almost colliding with him as she jumped at him hugging him tightly,
"Hey Leah, what've you been up to?" he asked smiling at her as she happily clung to him and she looked up at him and smiled widely,
"I've been at school...I don't like school but Wynona says I need to learn stuff and meet other kids" she blurted out Ben could see she was more at ease about being which was a clear change from the little scared little girl that clung to his arm out of fear because of the bullshit story she'd been fed by Mira and her bunch of terrorists,
"Who's Wynona?"
"OH YEAH, she's my legal guardian...I mean mine and Sam's" Leah answered,
"What about you...you okay?" she then asked and Ben chuckled,
"I've just been cleared for duty by the doc who also happen to be my sister in law" Ben answered,
"The nice and beautiful one?" she asked and then added "I don't like doctors but Doctor Shannon is nice...I like her" Leah rambled and then looked guilty,
"I'm sorry for what happened to you" she said and looked into the ground, Ben crouched down to her level,
"Listen Leah, what happened to me and Wash was not your fault, Mira and her goons were using your brother to force you into working for them...I don't blame you for wanting to protect your brother, I'm just glad I could help you both" he said gently to her and she smiled again,
"Commander Taylor said when I grow up he may have to put me in uniform" she said giddily,
"We'll see when you get eighteen, but you could be something better than that you know...like a doctor and helping the colony that way is better than trudging around in the jungle looking for trouble" Ben stated but Leah shook her head,
"Nope I want to be like you when I grow up" she said and hugged him again,
"Why would you want to be like me?" Ben asked perplexed,
"I've been talking to some of the other soldiers and I've heard Lieutenant Lao talk about how you rescued my brother, so I want to be like you; big and strong and brave" she stated matter of factually and Ben chuckled,
"Na, what you did to help your brother...THAT took bravery... and love" Ben replied and Leah hugged him again and then turned to leave,
"I've gotta get back to school before the break is over, see ya" she said and waved and ran off,
Ben and the others walked away towards the equipment, when they were about to enter Ben heard Kono shouting and turned to see him come running,
"Hey Bennyboy *huff, huff*, glad I caught up to ya, I'd like to ask you for a very big favour" he panted,
"You know Lieutenant, you could benefit from a good workout program...get into shape" Ben suggested, and Kono looked at him,
"You could always join me and Reynolds here in our workout routine, we always start every morning with a good run around the colony...though I can understand at your age it may be too much" Ben said half teasingly as he knew Reynolds did his best to keep up and was good during their sparring sessions, but he also knew Kono had never really been one for workout,
Kono glared at him,
"I wanted to ask you AND Reynolds if you two wanted to be my best men together with Jim and Josh?" he finally huffed out, Ben and Mark looked at each other then at Kono,
"Of course Kono I'd be happy to stand by your side" Ben said smiling mischievously and added,
"If only to make sure you don't run away!" he said with just the slightest sound of mirth in his voice,
Kono glared at him again and decided to get even a bit,
"And what about the future son in law then?" he asked with a smirk which now had Ben glaring at HIM at the same time giving Mark the NOT a single word glare, though Mark was blushing extremely,
"Yeas I'd be honoured to sir" he then said, Mark had always seen Alicia like a big sister and she saw him likewise so he was happy for her,
"So what are ya guys up to?" Kono then asked and all three men looked sheepishly at him trying to act as innocent as possible, Kono narrowed his eyes,
"Well do I have to pull rank to know what's going on?" he asked semi seriously, and after a few minutes Ben explained the situation,
"So all ya have to do is put up a small perimeter around that field of flowers?" he asked with a smirk at Reynolds,
"Yes sir" Mark answered,
"Then we'd better get going while there's still daylight" Kono said and laughed at their puzzled faces,
"You think I'm going to let y'all do this on your own do ya?" he asked with an exaggerated accent while chuckling,
Said and done, while Ben, Mark and Cronk got the mines while Kono requisitioned a rhino transport.
Meanwhile Jim was fuming about his brothers – both of them,
"What is it dad?" Josh asked, Josh was still angry at him even though his father had allowed him to continue working at Boylan's,
"Ah its Ben, he's being way too nice to that Reynolds kid about Maddy" Jim replied, Josh couldn't help but smirk at it since he knew why,
"Could it be that he allowed Maddy to wear that Cleopatra outfit during Halloween last week?" he asked trying not to let the question come out as a laugh, Jim glared at him,
"It had every hormonal boy staring at her", Jim huffed out, Jim had years ago when Maddy was still little suspected that they would have a beauty on their hands just by knowing how beautiful Elisabeth was...and now all this with his baby brother being the father of said beauty instead of him!
Jim tried not to blame Ben for it but he still felt some resentment about members of his family being used like some lab rats,
"Y'know dad, you could talk to Maddy about at least seeing other boys...to err...widen her perspective a little bit?" Josh suggested as he were getting ready for his shift at the bar and not waiting for an answer he opened the door and walked out leaving Jim wondering,
"That could be a good idea – NO Reynolds IS a good kid" he thought,
"Am I just being like this because I am competing with my own brother?" he realised how childish he was acting – Ben had always been good with the kids and now they knew he was Maddy's real father, Jim didn't like it but he had to accept it...plus Ben WAS apparently being a great dad to her, not giving her too much freedom but certainly giving her the space she needed, but it was the way Ben did not try and scare the Reynolds kid that irked Jim extremely,
"I guess soldiers DO stick together" he thought semi bitterly before he laughed at himself and these ridiculous thoughts...it COULD after all have been a whole lot worse...Maddy could have been the daughter of that Malcolmus wimp, and went back to checking his reports.
After having collected enough equipment Ben, Kono, Mark and Cronk drove the rhino out to the field where Mark wanted to have his date with Maddy and the other three agreed that it looked beautiful and then started placing the mines around the field – the mines were not designed to kill the dinosaurs but drive them off, their job in this world in the distant past was not to repeat the mistakes of the future but to safeguard it while at the same time giving humanity it's second chance, as soon as they were finished Cronkite tested the mines and after that they all went back into the rhino and drove back to the colony with Kono and even Cronkite snickering when Ben gave Reynolds some stringent rules of what can happen that he did not wish to happen in large fields of romantically beautiful flowers.
Early the next day Maddy had dressed in a new dress her mother had bought for her and fixed her hair, she also chose a pair of low boots as however nice they looked wedge shoes was barely practical on Terra Nova's gravel streets and would be next useless in the jungle, when she came out of her room she saw Josh rummaging around, she looked at him quizzically and he noticed her,
"Where are my shoes?" Josh asked,
"Where were they last time you saw them?" Maddy countered teasingly,
"On my feet Maddy" Josh grumbled, Maddy looked around and found them, she picked them up and handed them to him and Josh noticed that she had fixed herself up and smelled of some herbal shampoo,
"Why do you look kind of nice?" he asked
"And why do you smell nice too?" he added, she ignored him and pushed him so he nearly stumbled
"Go!" she said teasingly again and smiled as she could hardly wait for what she were going to do today,
"So what are you going to do today pumpkin?" Jim asked,
"Nothing just homework" Maddy answered and Jim stared at her,
"Homework, its Saturday?" Jim exclaimed,
"Yeah I've got tons of homework to do" Maddy answered,
Jim shrugged and took Zoe by the hand and left together with Josh,
of course with Jim, Josh and even little Zoe completely oblivious as Elisabeth were going to tell them but wanted to wait...because she knew Jim might have had some things to say about Maddy going OTG on a date so she decided to tell him later – and she didn't want to worry him needlessly as Ben and Kono had reassured her the extra perimeter they had set up was foolproof...NOTHING could go wrong...!
As Mark drove the rover out to wherever they were going to have their date she wondered how the male members of her family would react to her almost sneaking out...she had actually lied to her other dad...true she had before but that was when she didn't want to worry them about her being bullied at school, she worried about what Jim would say – or think and Josh...well he hadn't been very accepting to Mark, Zoe on the other hand totally loved Mark,
"Maybe I'll have to watch out when she gets older?" she thought and giggled at the thought,
"Something funny Maddy?" Mark asked as he could only spare a quick glance at his girlfriend since he had to watch where he was driving as well,
"No nothing...nothing at all" she giggled, Mark smiled
"I just love to hear your laughter – even when you're giggling it makes me smile" he said, Maddy beamed at him.
When they finally got to the field,
"Maddy I need you to close your eyes ok" Mark instructed her,
"Why?" Maddy wondered,
"Just do it please" he pleaded, Maddy did as he asked as he brought the rover to a stop and got out and first strapped a backpack he had prepared with their picnic and walked around to her side of the rover and gently helped her get out,
"Don't open your eyes" he persisted and then with his own hands over her eyes walked her to the middle of the field not far from an old tree, as Mark stopped and then removed his hands, at first Maddy was quiet as she looked out over the glorious field of flowers, she stepped away a little and then started breathing again,
"Dayflowers!" she exclaimed,
"Some of these live their entire lifespan over twenty-four hours" she then added, Mark simply smiled
"I had a feeling you'd know about them – I found this field a few months back and wanted to bring you here" he said as she turned around, her eyes was absolutely shining,
"They're beautiful...thank you" she said and smiled enigmatically at him as he started removing the backpack,
"You hungry?" he asked and Maddy nodded still smiling, and Mark started setting up the picnic, he had packed fruit and some juice made from fruits as well as water, once set they started eating.
In the colony Jim were taking Zoe to the Eye to show her where she was born when they met Ben and Kono on their way there,
"Hey Jimmyboy, hey Zoe" Kono said smiling,
"Hey Giggles" Ben said to Zoe who of course giggles at him and shifted nervously and looked at Jim,
"Hey Jim" he said,
"Hey guys" Jim replied and noticed Ben looking for a lack of a better word...Guilty!
Jim smirked at the whole situation, ever since Ben had taken on the role as single father it seemed as if every woman in the colony had set their sights on him,
"Ben...what's wrong?" Jim asked him which caused Ben to squirm even more,
"Ben I thought we'd cleared this out...about Maddy?!" he asked, true Jim was still a bit resentful but not really towards Ben and least of all towards Maddy,
"Sorry Jim, I guess it's going to take a while getting used to it myself...I can only hope I can be half as good a father as you've been to her" Ben said, Jim chuckled,
"From what I know AND from what I can tell, you are a great father to her...kinda tops being a good father now don't ya think?" Jim said trying to joke a bit,
"Though you COULD be a bit sterner towards that Reynolds kid" he pointed out,
Kono sighed at his brothers' attempt at bantering,
"Well at least they're not slugging it out over her!?" he thought,
"Well Jimmyboy me and Bennyboy have to go report for our shifts anyway" Kono stated and he and Ben walked away toward the command centre.
At the field Maddy was laughing when Mark told her what he wanted to be when he was a kid,
"So I borrowed my grandfather's old re-breather and calculator" Mark started,
"One of those big giganto ones that covered half your face" Maddy interrupted and Mark laughed with her,
"Yeah so there I was sitting under the table pretending I was on the moon and added things" Mark continued,
"Adding" Maddy corrected and blushed when Mark looked down,
"When you say it like that" Mark said quietly,
"No no I'm sorry – I didn't mean to interrupt you" she said still smiling,
"No it's okay you're...perfect!" Mark stated and now it was his turn to blush and he looked down into the ground as Maddy cocked her head,
"What did you say?" she asked half smilingly.
At the settlement Ben with Reilly's help had just finished the haggis for Cronkite and dropped it off to him, they all three sat themselves outside the barracks and started eating,
"Thanks laddie, thanks lassie" Cronkite said, and they started talking about how their lives had been like,
"Me mother knew I was...deformed, but she refused to have an abortion" Cronk said as he were taking a bite from his plate,
"Deformed?" Ben asked,
"Ya DO know I'm short...a dwarf" Cronkite replied deadpan,
"Aha, but I wouldn't call that a deformity" Ben huffed,
"In the family I was born into it was...he he, me dad tried forcing her but she stuck to her guns and had me" Cronk said and then was quiet for a few seconds before he continued,
"She died in childbirth, and after that me father refused to have me...but me mother's father took me in and raised me, when he died I joined the military" Cronk explained,
"Have you ever had any contact with your...family?" Anna queried, Cronk shook his head
"No and I was and still am fine with that since they never bothered to check on me" he replied resolutely,
"Well we have something in common then" Ben said,
"My dad was a real prick...he used to beat both me and my brother and our mom because she tried to take the beating so he wouldn't beat us" Ben explained,
"What happened to her – your mother I mean?" Cronkite queried,
"She died when I was ten by pulmo replasia and because dad beat her really hard" Ben said with clenched teeth,
"What happened to yer dad?" Cronk asked calmly, both he and Anna could see the anger shining in Ben's eyes,
"He went to jail for voluntary manslaughter and severe child abuse...I almost died apparently" Ben replied with a vicious smirk,
"Ya know I've never asked your full name" Ben added,
"It's Vincent...but ya may call me Vince, now that we are on friendlier terms...AND because this haggis was wonderful" Vince said,
"Mine's...ahem, Benjamin, but you MUST call me Ben" Ben replied and extended his hand which Vincent or Vince took,
"Two grouchy men finding each other" Anna thought amused, and then she and Ben were walking away and Anna on an impulse she couldn't explain put her arm around Ben's waist, he looked at her a bit surprised and then put his arm around her shoulders and smiled slightly.
When they got to the command centre there was a sound like thunder from the sky and they both looked up as they saw what looked like a fireball streaking across the sky and hit somewhere far out into the jungle but before it did Ben could swear he heard an explosion coming from it as it was clearly breaking up, and then he heard Commander Taylor's voice from the balcony shout,
"SHOCK-WAVE! EVERYONE, DOWN!" Ben acted instinctively when he saw the dust coming from the jungle as he threw Anna to the ground and protected her with his own body and all hell broke loose.
At the field Maddy looked at Mark,
"I said you're perfect...but what do I know, I'm just some lunar accountant" Mark replied to her earlier question as they were nearing each other, Maddy's lips parted ever so slightly as she guessed what he were going to do,
"My first kiss with this gorgeous boy" she thought excitedly and JUST as their lips were about to meet Mark turned towards the horizon, Maddy opened her half closed eyes in disappointment and looked at him, Maddy was deeply disappointed,
"What's that?" he queried to no one in particular and as Maddy looked into the same direction she could see a ball of flame coming down and a few seconds later it probably hit the ground somewhere far away but then she also heard AND saw the shock wave coming their way,
"Get down" Mark shouted and grabbed her and put his own body over hers as the shock wave made everything in its path fly around and all hell broke loose.
At the Eye Jim and Zoe were having a holo adventure with them riding the rollercoaster when suddenly everything went dark, Jim walked to the door and tried opening it...but no luck, it was shut and would not open no matter how much he tried,
He then looked around as Zoe looked worried,
"Daddy I'm scared" she exclaimed Jim looked at his youngest and hugged her reassuringly,
"Hey it's okay pumpkin, there has to be a good explanation for this" Jim assured her and looked around and saw the core of the Eye was still powered and so did Zoe,
"Must be a power outage" Jim said,
"What about that?" Zoe asked, and Jim looked at the core,
"It has its own power supply" Jim replied as he found what he was looking for and removed the chair they had been sitting in and found a sort of manhole and tried to squeeze into it – of course without any semblance of success and then against his will looked at Zoe,
"Zoe honey I can't fit through this hole but you can" he suggested and Zoe looked down the hole and then shook her head in fear,
"What is it baby?" he asked as she recoiled from the hole,
"It looks creepy dark down there" she answered,
"It's okay Zoe there's nothing dangerous down there" Jim assured,
"It's dark and creepy and there could be spiders there" Zoe whined,
"Spiders?" Jim started and then got an idea,
"What if I sing the Go away spider song?" he continued,
"The Go away spider song?" Zoe asked and Jim smiled,
"It goes something like this" he said and started singing

Jim sang he remembered once when Elisabeth had been angry and thrown him out when she were pregnant and Ben had remained at home he had then apparently sung a song about sadness and tears using this very tune, Elisabeth had told Jim afterward, of course now he actually regretted teasing Ben about it,
"I used it all the time when me and your Uncle Ben were kids" he explained and after a few minutes hesitance Zoe finally crawled down into the hole but stopped as she got just past the opening, and Jim remembered and started singing,

After a while of crawling she stopped,
"What's wrong honey?" Jim asked,
"Daddy...the song" she whined,
Jim started singing again,
"Let's just hope she never tells anyone about this...especially not Kono and above all NOT Ben...I'll never hear the end of it" he thought as he kept singing.
Outside Ben was helping to pick up the pieces of the impact...even though the meteorite-impact were nowhere near the colony the effects were still un escapable, almost every piece of electronic device had their circuits fried and there were a lot of people who got hurt, he looked at Anna who looked a little roughed up, she must have been hit by debris as she had a small bump on her head,
"You okay Reilly?" he queried,
"Yeah thanks sir, I just got the wind knocked out of me is all" she replied,
"Let me take you to the infirmary just in case" Ben continued,
"It really isn't necessary sir" Reilly replied,
"I CAN make that an order you know!?" Ben countered and she relented and when he started leading her towards the infirmary she smirked,
"He is so DARN CUTE whenever he takes the commanding tone" she thought – ONE thing was for damn sure; Ben Shannon was a keeper!
