Exams over! Yayyyy! *runs around in circles with happiness*

Chapter 25

Tala whistled lightly when he saw Kai staring at Diana in shock. Before sparks could fly Tala displayed his survival skills, "The night seems very good for a late night walk. I'll just… you know…" He disappeared through the door faster than you could Ivanovic.

He had just sauntered a mile beside the dirt path when he found someone hunched in the grass, looking the other way. Tala gripped his pistol, thoughts running in his brain. Had someone seen then leaving the plant? Could it be someone from the crazy organization they were supposed to hunt?

A twig snapped beneath his boots and he nearly shot the head that turned.

"Hina!?" Tala exclaimed, pushing back the pistol into his hip holster.

"Woah! Calm down," Hina shouted, letting go of her camera and raising her hands. "Don't shoot me."

"Its okay," Tala replied sullenly. "You just caught me off guard."

Hina gave a nervous laugh, hands still raised above her head, "You usually drive bullets into people when they catch you off guard."

"Uh this?" Tala looked at his holstered pistol. "No, uh, I-how did you date go?"

Hina looked away hugging herself, "A fiasco. I swear, I'm not going on a date for a long, long time after what happened today."

Tala tried to ignore the flash of pleasure he felt on hearing that the date had been a fiasco. Why would he feel happy? But he did. For some unexplainable reason, Tala didn't want Hina to be dating anybody but him. He crouched beside her and tried to hide the glee in his voice, "Why? Did Ian-?"

"Oh Ian messed up pretty good," Hina replied. "And then he got messed up because Giselle got messed up. Oh lord! I shudder to even think of it. I wish I had never agreed to him."

"He's difficult to say no too," Tala tried to sound sympathetic.

Hina laughed, "Did he ask you on a date too?"

"What!? Me? Uh Are you ma-Oh you're joking," Tala smiled suddenly and snap! He was blinded by Hina's flash. "What?" he asked trying to blink away the spots of white light clouding his vision.

Hina looked at her camera, "I like to preserve memories of all things beautiful. Your smile right there? Its like the beautiful flash of comets that you only see once in a lifetime."

Tala was blushing and he hated it. He could feel heat rushing up to his red hair and he looked away.

"I suppose I shouldn't ask why you are wearing all black? Are you part of some cult or something?" Hina asked focusing her camera on him.

Tala lied easily, "Yes and it's a secret cult."

Hina stopped before clicking the photo, "Really?"

Tala shook his head, smirking, wondering if all the love at first sight bullshit was real. That hadn't happened with Anna. And it was back. The turmoil of hurt, confusion and anger.

"Oh you're joking," Hina looked appreciatively.

Snap! went the camera and it took all of Tala's strength to not reach out and hurl it to the ground. He had just remembered, he didn't like his photos taken. The snaps of Hina's camera was pushing memories of Anna and how he used to photograph her, trying to protect every bit of life they lived so that when they grew old they could live it all over again.

"You need to turn your face this side or even my night vision lens won't be able to decipher your face."

"Turn it off," Tala suddenly said, his eyes wild.

Hina caught the tone and immediately shifted away the focus.

Tala got up, ready to leave. He couldn't fall in that trap again. He couldn't undergo the same betrayal but most of all he couldn't forget Anna.

Hina stood up and caught hold of his arm, "Are you okay?"

Tala wrenched his arm away and turned towards her, "You stay away from me, okay?"

With that he was off.

I know you all probably wanted to see Kai-Diana face-off...but this was important okay? Don't worry though, the next chapter is the dramatic Clash of the Titans...okay, that's a little too dramatic, clash of Kai-Diana ;)

BUT I'm so happy you guys liked the last chapter. I quite proud of it actually :D
