A/N: This upcoming scene with Beastboy, Raven and Stacy I've had stuck in my head for months, hopefully it turned out well in text.

(Scene Break)********************

Beastboy was a little taken aback by the situation. One moment, he was having lunch with Stacy, one of his childhood friends and the next thing he knew Raven had dropped in to throw glares at her. His cloaked friend had come out of nowhere and caught him by surprise, she had a knack for that. However, her unexpected entrance had increased the tension by tenfold, he could practically taste the hostility from the two girls in the air. He had to do something fast to diffuse it or else things could get ugly.

"Stacy, this is Raven. She's a teammate and a good friend of mine." Beastboy said, starting introductions.

"REALLY good friend." Raven added, the changeling let out a nervous chuckle.

"Raven this is Stacy. She and I go back quite a ways." Beastboy continued, Stacy had recovered from her initial surprise and matched Raven's glare.

"WAY back." Stacy added, Garfield looked between the two. He was shocked by Raven's behavior, usually she was indifferent whenever she met a new person. Right now the grey-skinned sorceress was eyeing Stacy with barely concealed hostility, she wasn't even that bad with Terra, so why was his old friend striking such a bad chord with her? The answer hit him like a slap in the face, Raven was jealous!

The changeling ran a hand through his green hair and let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Why was she picking today of all days to suddenly explore her feelings? Suddenly her strange behavior from this morning made a lot more sense, making him breakfast, complaining about the noise he was making while playing games yet refusing to move from her spot next to him. Before now whenever he tried to pursue something with her she would brush him off, probably because she thought she was going to die with the whole end of the world thing a year ago. Then the Brotherhood of Evil had kept them so busy they hardly had time to talk with each other. During their visit to Tokyo she barely had any patience with him and so he reverted to keeping a cautious distance from her, respecting her boundaries and not pushing her to do things she didn't want to do.

Now she seemed to be shadowing him and was being clingy in her own Raven way. Beastboy would almost dare say that she was being possessive of him and it was taking him a few moments to wrap his mind around it. Looks like Raven was deciding to act on her feelings now rather than suppress them, but damn, the girl had really bad timing.

Hoping to keep the situation from going critical, Beastboy took control of the conversation. "So Raven, find any good books while you were shopping?" The dark girl continued to glare at Stacy for a few moments before taking a few bites out of her food.

"Yeah I found a great book about a girl who likes to steal things." Raven replied nonchalantly, her gaze on her food as she continued eating. "It didn't have a happy ending." Beastboy visibly winced at her response and Raven looked at Stacy once more, "How long have you known Beastboy?"

Stacy shrugged, chewing her food before answering, "Oh you know, since he was a little kid, way longer than some broody vampire-wannabe." Raven rolled her eyes.

"Like I haven't heard that before." The cloaked Titan drolled.

"What's your problem!?" Stacy snapped, losing her patience finally. "You don't even know me and you're already treating me like some sort of diseased animal!" The petite brown-haired girl leaned forward, stabbing her index finger into the table. "You don't like me hanging out with Gar? Too bad, get this through that little skull of yours, I can hang out with my friends whenever I want."

Raven raised an eyebrow, "You think so?"

Stacy smirked, "I know so."

A slice of pizza from Raven's plate was suddenly encased in black energy and flung into Stacy's face. There was a moment of dead silence as Beastboy's old friend sat there with pizza sauce running down her horrified face and then she recovered. With reflexes that would have impressed Robin, Stacy reached down and flung her plate at Raven, her aim was dead-on and the plate smacked the dark girl right in the face, covering it in bits of burger, ketchup and fries.

Raven's eyes glowed white through a mask of ketchup and two bottles of mustard were lifted from behind a nearby counter thanks to her powers. The two bottles squirted their contents all over Stacy, who howled in outrage, holding her left hand in front of her face to try and protect her eyes from the mustard hitting her. The brown-haired girl reached blindly across the table with her right hand for something to use against Raven and found it when she gripped a salt shaker. Quickly unscrewing the cap, Stacy threw the salt into the cloaked girl's face and was rewarded with the sound of her cursing as some of the salt got in her eyes.

Beastboy sat there, stunned to silence while ducking and dodging stray food projectiles. Yup, Raven definitely wasn't herself, any other day and she would never be caught getting into a food fight with a girl she hardly knew. He expected behavior like this from Stacy though, as she had always been a scrapper for as long as he knew her.

Seeing that the food fight was getting out of control, Beastboy called out for the girls to stop, but they either ignored him or were in a blind rage. He had to make a louder statement if he was going to get their attention. Morphing into a lion, Beastboy leapt in between the two young girls, letting out a loud roar that halted them both in their tracks. He then morphed back into his human form.

"That's enough!" He spoke commandingly, both girls paused and glared at each other. Raven's eyes glowed white briefly and a piece of tomato smacked Stacy in the face, Beastboy glared in her direction.

"What?" Raven asked stoically, the changeling shook his head.

(Scene Break)********************

"I can't believe you got into a food fight with Stacy, what happened to the mature Raven I used to know?" Beastboy scolded Raven as they entered the Tower through the roof entrance.

" I don't know, out to lunch apparently." The dark girl responded gloomily, the green Titan sighed.

"Well you two are going to have to learn to get along, Stacy was one of my first friends, we're really close." He informed her, Raven raised an eyebrow at him.

"Close huh? Well don't let me get in the way then." Raven said, Beastboy detecting the slightest hint of hurt in her voice. The two had entered the hallway that led to his room and the sorceress picked up her pace, intending to retreat to her room, but she found her path blocked by the changeling.

"I didn't mean it that way Raven, she's right up there with everyone who lives in this tower, that includes you." He clarified, Raven crossed her arms and if Beastboy didn't know any better he would have said that she was pouting. Raven didn't do pouting though.

"I don't see her watching your back and risking her life to keep the city safe." The sorceress told him, he refused to budge.

"She was a friend when friends were few." The changeling replied, she grunted in response, but said nothing. Raven knew what having no friends was like and if Stacy helped Beastboy in a time when he was vulnerable then perhaps she deserved her respect. Still she wasn't going to suddenly be best friends with her overnight.

"I don't trust her." Raven stated, Beastboy rolled his eyes.

"Yeah I gathered that much." He responded sarcastically. "Give her a chance Raven." Her glare deepened, "Please?" the glare deepened even more. "Uh, do it for me?" She closed her eyes and clenched her teeth, rubbing her temples.

"Fine." Raven said, Beastboy grinned.

"Thank you." He told her genuinely, moving aside to let her through and then making his way to his own room. He had just got his door open when he heard Raven's voice from down the hall.

"Beastboy?"

"Yeah?"

"Where do 'we' stand at the moment?"

The changeling thought for a moment, he knew that his and Raven's relationship was more than friends, but how much more? He knew he'd do anything to keep her safe and vice versa, but that's what good friends did for each other. What were two people who were possibly more than friends supposed to be?

"I don't know." Beastboy answered truthfully.

"Me neither, but I'd really like to find out. I-If that's okay with you?" She asked with a slight tremor in her voice, Beastboy smiled.

"Totally." He replied, Raven studied him for a moment and gave him a slight smile.

"Good." She simply said and made her way to her room. The changeling let out a slow breath, exploring a relationship with Raven was going to be like navigating a minefield, but he was eager to try it out. Well, after he got some serious time in on his new Gamestation 2 first.

(Scene Break)*********************

Raven was looking forward to a movie night. Normally the Titans would choose one night during the weekend to do movie night, but Cyborg had bought a newly released horror flick and so they decided to make Thursday a surprise movie night. Although the prospect of a good scare was always a thrill for the sorceress she had another reason why she was glad for the impromptu movie-watching session, getting Beastboy out of his blasted room. The team never missed a movie night and so that meant he had to make an appearance.

The changeling had been locked in his room ever since getting his Gamestation 2 back to the Tower, that was two days ago. The only time the others spotted him was when he made a quick run to the kitchen for snacks. Raven made a few attempts to get him out of his room, but was met with failure. The irony of the situation was not lost on her and she had a newfound respect for how Beastboy had always managed to coerce her out of her own room to participate in their team's activities.

One by one the Titans filed in and Raven patiently waited, but as everyone settled in and Cyborg was about to start the movie the dark girl realized with much annoyance that they were still one short.

"Where's Beastboy?" Raven asked, Cyborg shrugged.

"Still messing with his Gamestation 2." The bionic Titan answered.

"But it's movie night." She replied.

"Missing one movie night won't harm anyone." Robin said, relaxing on the couch.

"Perhaps Beastboy will join us on the next night of the movies." Starfire added, Raven's frown went deeper and deeper until she finally stood up.

"I'll be right back." She told her friends, making her way to the sliding doors leading out of the common room.

(Scene Break)********************

Beastboy's fingers flew across his Gamestation 2 controller, his toon on his TV responding to his inputs and several pirate monkeys in crisp next-gen graphics fell over dead in comical fashion. A headset rested on his head as he conversed with Stacy over voice chat, they were playing 2 player co-op. So far they had completed fifteen of the hardest missions and only had five more to go to fully complete the game.

The past couple of days had been beyond awesome for the changeling. The Gamestation 2 had been everything he hoped and more. Super Ninja Monkey 5 was a great game playing by yourself, but it was a complete blast playing with friends. Stacy and him had been playing for the better part of two days and it was great to catch up with his old friend again. Maybe once Cyborg and Robin got off their lazy butts and bought a Gamestation 2 as well, the four of them could do some sick four player co-op.

They were just about ready to complete the sixteenth mission when he heard the telltale sign of Raven's dark energy at his door. Sure enough, his cloaked friend emerged through a portal she had made, looking none too happy at the moment. Beastboy spared her a quick glance, but then returned his attention towards the game, the toughest enemies were coming up and he needed to focus.

"So." Raven began in her monotone, though the furrowed eyebrows gave away her anger. "Were you planning on living in your room for the rest of your life with your little pixel generator? Or were you going to come down for movie night?"

"Movie night?" Beastboy repeated questioningly, eyes never leaving the screen. "What day is it?"

"Thursday." Raven stated.

"Dude why a movie night on Thursday? We always do that stuff on weekends."

"Scary Movie 3."

Beastboy's head swiveled to look at Raven, his eyes bloodshot and wide. "Really? For real?" Raven rolled her eyes.

"The disc looked pretty real to me." She answered him. "Come on, the others are waiting." The green Titan's eyes widened in surprise and he returned his attention back to his TV.

"Oh crap! Sorry about that Stacy, Raven was talking to me." Beastboy said into his headset, Raven's eyes instantly narrowed.

"You're playing with Stacy?" The dark girl asked, her voice dangerously calm, the changeling made eye contact with her.

"Hang on a sec." He said into his headset and then muted it, turning his full attention towards Raven. "Yeah I'm playing with Stacy, we've been gaming together since we were kids, this is how we hang out."

"Yeah well, you've had plenty of time to hang out with her, time to hang out with your other friends for a change." Raven said.

"I can't." Beastboy replied, returning to his game. "We're almost done with the sixteenth mission, I'll come down after that." The grey-skinned girl lifted a violet eyebrow.

"And just how long is almost done?" She inquired, Beastboy gulped.

"Uh, twenty minutes?" He responded meekly, Raven's glare deepened and her eyes took on an ivory glow. The changeling felt her dark energy wrap around his waist and begin to drag him out of his room. He held on for dear life, attempting to anchor himself to the ground with his right hand and use the controller with his left, he only succeeded in slowing Raven's progress. "Five more minutes Raven! Just five more minutes!" He called out, but the dark sorceress ignored his pleas, produced a portal at his door, and dragged him kicking and screaming through it. At some point, Beastboy unmuted his mic, letting Stacy hear the scuffle, leaving his childhood friend bewildered at her house wondering if she just witnessed a kidnapping.
