Thank-you for the reviews on the last chapter. They were greatly appreciated. Thank-you all so much*
"Hey, Man," I say to my best friend Roman as I am sitting in catering eating chicken and vegetables before Renee arrives to RAW. "How's the married life going for you?"
"It's no different," he says taking a seat next to me. "It's just official now. Lina and I have been together for over 8 years so it's nothing new it's just she has my last name now."
"I see," I say, "congratulations. I am happy for you two."
"Thanks," he says, "it was a nice private wedding just the three of us on a private island just the way I wanted it to be but of course the media got wind of it and there are pictures posted all over the internet. Lina was upset that she didn't get to post her pictures first and some paparazzi person posted them. That kind of upset me. Let us have our time and our moment."
"That's crazy. When I married Saige I wasn't famous yet no one knew my name so it was a pretty private wedding, just a small family affair."
"That's what we tried to do but it didn't work that way but it doesn't matter it was still the best day of my life now we are working on another baby."
"Really?" I ask. "I don't think I could have another baby."
"Yes, really," he says with a smile. "We want one or two more but we are trying we figure since Jojo is 7 that it's time to have another. Why don't you think you could have another baby? You don't think about having more kids?"
"I have thought about it but Kennedy, I love her so much. She is my whole heart. She is everything to me. I can't even say how much I love her I'm scared that if I were to have another baby I wouldn't love it as much as I love Kennedy and that's not fair. Not to mention the fact I am gone 300 days a year. I hardly get time with Kennedy and to have another baby while I'm this active in my career isn't fair either. To have a baby any time soon would be selfish. I want to wait till my career dies down or till I retire from the ring."
"I see," he says. "I'm kind of scared to have another one too just because I'm scared I won't love it as much as Jojo. We have awesome little girls it's hard to top their awesomeness."
"Exactly," I say before taking a bite of my chicken. "So how are you feeling about what's going on at Wrestlemania?"
"I think it's a match everyone wants to see," he says, "I mean you, Seth and I came into this business together, we dominated the business together and we are dominating it by ourselves. I think Wrestlemania is going to prove who the dominant member of the Shield is. It's going to be a good match."
"I think so too because we all know each other so well so we know each other's moves and maneuvers it should be interesting. Who do you think is getting the championship?"
"I don't know," he says. "I don't think Seth is going to retain so it means either one of us is going to get the belt. I would be okay if you got it. You deserve it after everything you've been through. You deserve it more than I do."
"I think you deserve it too," I say. "Especially after what happened last year during Mania, that was wrong."
"I knew it was happening before we even got out there. I was supposed to win it then during the show right before we went out Vince and Hunter told me Seth was cashing in and that he was taking the belt. I understand now why they did what they did. There were things I needed to work on and I have but you have been ready for a while. You were ready two years ago but everything happened with Saige and you took a break. I bet you get it and I wouldn't be upset."
"You're humble," I say as Joey Mercury comes up to us. "Yes, Joey?" I ask.
"Hunter and Steph would like to talk to you," he says. "They want to talk about upcoming events."
"All right," I say before I stand up to throw out my trash. "I'll talk to you later, Bro."
"Later," says Roman before I walk to the trashcan to throw my trash away before I make my way to see Hunter and Stephanie. Sometimes I dread talking to them because sometimes I am in trouble other times not. I don't remember doing anything wrong so I assume it's about Wrestlemania.
I knock on their door. "Come in," says Hunter. I open the door and walk into their office shutting the door behind me. "Dean," he says with a smile, "come have a seat."
"Thanks," I say as I make my way over to the chair in front of his desk. I take a seat and look at him. "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes," he says, "as you know we are heading into Wrestlemania season and it's one of the busiest seasons of the year we are talking non-stop work. You are headlining Wrestlemania along with Seth and Roman but we want to make Wrestlemania about you. First thing's first," he says. "I know you're generally a private person you don't want the world to see your private life and what goes on in your private life."
"That's right," I say.
"Well, we wanted to do a documentary of you for the network. We want to take a look at your journey on the road to Wrestlemania. We want to follow you the week of Mania and see how you prepare for one of the biggest matches of your career, see you interact with your daughter, your girlfriend, your mom we want to see your family life, we want a look at you and who you are," he says.
"I don't want my daughter on TV and I don't want my girlfriend on TV network or not. I don't want my family out there."
"What if we did this documentary but we blurred out their faces so no one could see them or just did back shots of them. We don't have to have your family's faces on the documentary unless they want to be."
"That might work but I don't want my daughter in the public eye. I've worked this hard for 6 years to keep her off the screen and keep her private I'm not going to mess that up now. Undertaker does it and you do it I want to do it too. She deserves a life where she's not Dean Ambrose's daughter. I will do the documentary but my daughter is off limits."
"Can we ask her questions and show you two interacting?" he asks.
"What don't you understand about keeping her out of the public eye? If you do that I want her face blurred out and I don't want her name used. You will refer to her as Dean Ambrose's daughter not Kennedy Ambrose and her face will not be shown on the network, the internet or any public viewing site if I find out it is the documentary will be shut down. I have to protect her."
"Okay," he says. "We'll keep her face off the camera and we'll keep her out of public sight."
"Thank-you," I say, "I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just trying to protect my baby girl. I know how some fans can get. They find pictures or take screenshots and post them on their social media pages and then next thing you know you enter in your child's name on Google search and they pop up. I don't want that for her."
"I understand," he says, "Steph and I are the exact same way when it comes to our children. So we'll do this documentary of you the week of Mania but you're going to have a lot of appearances. You are going to do some late night talk shows like Conan and Jimmy Fallon. You're going to be doing radio broadcasts and TV interviews along with autograph signings. You are one of the VIP superstars for Axxess, you'll be busy that week."
"Okay," I say. "I can handle it."
"It's going to be a busy time, Dean but we want to make Wrestlemania about you and your road to the top. You have been through a lot in the last couple years. You deserve this," he says.
"Are you trying to say I'm winning the match?"
"We don't know yet and we won't let anyone know until you are about to take your place before the match. We like to keep that information quiet. Now I know you were asking about tickets to Mania."
"Yes," I say, "I need 4 tickets. That's all I really need for my mom, my daughter and Saige's parents. I would really like for Renee to be able to watch from ringside. Can she please?"
"We have other things for Renee to do. She asked us too if she would be able to watch the match ringside. I understand your relationship but we need her for the Wrestlemania panel. How much does it mean to both of you for her to watch the match at ringside?"
"It means a lot to me," I say. "Especially if I were to win the championship I want her to be front row to see it happen. I want her there in one of my biggest moments of my career."
"All right," he says. "She can be at ringside for that match only but if you were to win or whoever wins she is interviewing after the match in the ring for the post show. Deal?"
"Deal," I say. "Thank-you."
"You're welcome," he says with a smile. "By the way I liked the term you used the Ambrose Era."
"Thanks," I say, "It just came into my mind and I decided I was going to use it. I thought about the Lunatic Era but I like the Ambrose Era. I don't want to be known as a lunatic all of my career."
"Ambrose Era is good," says Hunter. "You should be proud of yourself, Dean. You've come a long way. You had a rough couple years but you've come a long way since then. You're doing so much better. You should be proud of yourself."
"Thanks," I say with a smile. "I just hit a rough patch in my life and had to figure out what was more important. I just want to thank you for everything you did for me and the WWE did for me while I was having the roughest time of my life. The cards, the support and the love you and the superstars gave me meant a lot to me and Kennedy. We needed that. Thank-you for allowing me this opportunity."
"You're welcome," he says, "but just ask anyone, you deserve this opportunity more than most. I know you, Roman and Seth are going to put on one hell of a show at Mania and it is sure to steal the show."
"Thanks," I say as we continue talking to each other before he has to get ready for RAW and I have to get ready for RAW. I walk out of his office and as I'm walking down the hallway I run into Renee. "Hey," I say with a smile.
"Hey, Baby," she says with a smile as she looks at me with her beautiful honey brown eyes. "I was looking for you."
"Sorry, I was talking to Hunter about Wrestlemania week."
"Really?" she asks. "I talked to him last Tuesday about Wrestlemania week. He has me busy all week," she says as we take a seat on one of the trunks backstage.
"He has me busy too I guess Kennedy is spending a lot of time with my mom which I am okay with. He has me doing a lot of appearances on talk shows and radio shows as well as TV interviews. Are we going to announce our relationship to the public if we're asked about it?"
"Only if they ask about it," she says as I take her hand into mine. "If they don't ask about the rumors it's not their business."
"I know," I say, "and they want to film a Wrestlemania documentary on me. They want to follow me around that week. I told them I don't want Kennedy on TV unless her face isn't shown and her name isn't used and Hunter was okay with it. You'll probably be on the documentary so either way the world is going to know we're in love."
"I know," she says, "but that's pretty awesome."
"Yeah," I say, "I never had a documentary filmed about me."
"I bet," she says, "so I have an announcement to make," she says with a smile and for a moment my heart stops thinking she's going to tell me she's pregnant. I am not ready for all of that.
"You're not pregnant are you?" I ask.
"Oh my god no," she says. "Not for a long time. We're pretty good on that. I just got my new prescription for my pill. We're good. I'm not ready to have a baby."
"Okay me either," I say with a smile, "but what if it were to happen like what if we didn't plan it. I need to know these things."
"I don't know," she says, "I don't really think about it. I mean I guess we would let it happen. I mean whatever happens happens but we'll be all right so you don't have to worry about anything."
"Okay," I say with a smile. "So what's your big announcement?"
"Well, they are giving me my own show on the Network!"
"That's awesome! What's it going to be about?"
"I'm just going to interview some people. It's pretty much what I do but not as restricted. I have to do a thing with Seth, I did one with Wiz Khalifa tonight and there are other ones I have to do. I'm excited. I hope I am getting closer to being a commentator."
"I'm happy for you," I say with a smile before I kiss her cheek. "I'm proud of you. I hope you're getting closer to becoming a commentator too. I heard you on NXT and Superstars you're awesome. The work you do is pretty awesome too. When is it debuting?"
"They said sometime in May so it won't be long now."
"Awesome," I say with a smile. "I talked to Hunter about you being ringside for my match at Mania."
"He said no to you too didn't he?"
"Actually he said yes. He said only for my match you can be ringside but afterward you have to interview the winner in the ring for the post show."
"So I get to see your match?" she asks with a smile.
"You get to see my match," I say with a smile. "I wouldn't want it any other way."
"Me either, think you're going to win?"
"Win or lose it's going to be the best match of my career," I say with a smile. "So how was Kennedy this weekend? Did everything go all right?"
"Yeah everything went great. We did homework, picking her up from school was good, we had a sleepover on Friday night in the living room watching movies and eating lots of junk food like ice-cream sundaes and candy. It was fun. Then Saturday we went shopping and went out to lunch."
"You took her shopping?"
"Yeah, she just got two outfits and we went to Build-a-Bear. She made herself a really cute rainbow teddy bear with a tutu. She loves it."
"Sounds like you two had a good time. She behaved for you?"
"Oh yeah she was no problem. She's awesome I love her but she did ask me something."
"I'm scared to ask," I say.
"She asked if she could call me mommy. I told her that right now we should stick to Nay for now and that I would talk to you about it. What do you think?"
"I don't know. She's asked me before if she could call you mommy but I don't know how you feel about it. How do you feel about her calling you mommy?"
"I don't mind if you don't mind. I mean I'm not here to replace Saige in her life but she's pretty insistent on calling me mommy. Should she?"
"I don't see the harm in her calling you mommy because if the day comes you and I have kids is she going to call you Nay while they call you mommy? That might make her feel out of place. I mean I know you love her like she's your own and that's all I ask. She knows Saige is her birth mommy and knows that Saige is her angel mommy that watches over her every day. It's not like she's not crediting Saige as her mom. I don't think it's a big deal but Saige's mom may think it's a big deal."
"So you think she shouldn't?"
"I'm not saying she shouldn't but I think if she wants to call you mommy then she should call you mommy. I'm just saying her Grandma is going to have a problem with it but hopefully she gets over it. I know you're not trying to replace Saige. I'm just glad that Kennedy loves you enough and that much that she wants to call you mommy. I think you're amazing with her and she has no other female role model in her life other than my mom and her grandma. If you're okay with it then I'm okay with it."
"I'm okay with it," she says with a smile. "I just wanted to see how you felt about it and since you seem to be okay with it so am I."
I smile at her as I cup her chin and push a piece of blonde hair behind her ear. "I love you, Renee," I say, "and I love how amazing you are with Kennedy. You are like a mom to her. She looks up to you. I'm okay with her calling you mommy."
"Okay," she says with a smile before I kiss her lips softly.
*A/N: What do you think of Dean's and Roman's Humility of each other? Do you think they will have the same attitude if they don't win at Wrestlemania? Could it cause a rift in their friendship? What did you think of Hunter telling Dean about the documentary and his busy Mania week? Is Dean going to be able to handle that pressure? Do you think a lot of Dean's fear of putting his family in the public eye has a lot to do with what happened to Saige or is he just trying to give them their privacy or is it a little of both? Are you glad that Renee is going to be ringside for Dean's match? Who do you think is going to win? What do you think of Dean allowing Kennedy to call Renee Mommy do you think Saige's mom is going to have an issue with it? Please review and thank-you for reading.
*A/N2: I just want to wish all the moms a very happy mother's day and hope you are having a relaxing day. :)
