It's Sunday! It is the weekend and the week beginning…Whoever created Sunday was crazy, but at least it's not Monday. Anyway, I am here again with another chapter. I feel like I'm really spoiling you guys, but I was serious when I said I was going to post more. So please enjoy and review!
Last time: Obi-wan managed to Sasha from drowning, but she was having a horrible allergic reaction to the seaweed. He also admitted how he felt toward Sasha. The medics arrived just in time.
Now: They return to the negotiator. Sasha goes to the medics and receives immediate care. Obi-wan gets some rest after talking with Cody and the King. Meanwhile, Grievous makes his escape and debriefs Dooku, who throws a fit.
Chapter 25- Recover and Punish
The gunship landed in the side hanger of the Negotiator. When the doors opened, the two medics and Basha escorted Sasha off the gunship and toward the medical ward. Obi-wan in tow. Despite the multiple corridors they had to go through to get there, the clones managed to lead them there in record time. Entering into the medics, Obi-wan expected it to be a mad house, but no one was there… yet. The head clone medic spotted them as he walked out of one of the many rooms. He came over and ran his eyes over Sasha. He looked up at Obi-wan.
"What happened?" he asked.
"She got wrapped up in the seaweed," Obi-wan said. "She's allergic to it. Plus she nearly drowned."
The head medic nodded and said something to his two clones who were holding up the stretcher. The nodded and headed into one of the private rooms with Sasha. Basha went in with them. Obi-wan started to follow them until he was stopped by the head medic.
"Master Jedi, I suggest you remain out here for now," he said.
Obi-wan looked past him to his padawan. They lifted her off the stretcher and onto the bed. They then pulled a curtain around the bed blocking his view of her. He returned his gaze to the clone medic.
"Alright," Obi-wan said reluctantly.
The medic patted his shoulder then entered the room, closing the door behind him. Obi-wan sighed and moved over to the waiting chairs that were pressed up against the wall. He sat down and looked at the door. The wait began.
Once the head medic, Ivan, closed the door, he came over to the closed off part of the small room. Pulling the curtain back just enough for him to enter, peered down at the commander. She lay on the bed, her wet hair sprawled out on the pillow and oxygen mask over her face. The swim top she was wear was pulled up just enough to reveal the rash that was on her midsection. The clones were busily setting up the supplies they need to take care of the rash around her.
Medic Ivan shooed two of the medics away leaving him and Basha alone in the room with the padawan. Ivan examined the rash on her midsection first before doing anything else. The rash was red and splotchy. He applied a cream to it. Sasha winced in pain as he did so. He looked at Basha.
"Give her something for the pain," he ordered.
Basha nodded as he removed his helmet. Setting it aside, he then reached for some pain killers. He then injected the pain killers into her neck, and slowly, she started to relax. Ivan finished applying the cream on her midsection then started to do the same for her other rashes. Once he was done with that, he grabbed a scanner and hooked it up to the monitor. He ran the scanner over her and watched the screen. It appeared that her internal organs were not affected too badly by the reaction, and the medicine that Basha had given her was doing its job in bring down the reaction.
He turned off the scanner and looked Basha.
"Get her prepped and ready for a bacta tank," Ivan said.
Basha nodded. Ivan left him alone to do what he needed to, to get her ready for the bacta tank. Ivan headed back out to the waiting area to speak with the Jedi Master.
The medical ward became packed after about a few minutes as the injured from the battle had returned. Obi-wan, thankfully, was undisturbed by anyone as he sat there patiently waiting to hear how she was doing. Head Medic Ivan appeared about ten minutes later. He approached Obi-wan and took a seat next to him.
"How is she?" Obi-wan asked.
"She is fine," Ivan said. "We are now moving her to a bacta tank. The rashes were pretty bad though and her internal organs were slightly affected by the reaction. The bacta will help."
Obi-wan sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "When can I see her?"
Ivan shook his head. "Not yet. When she is pulled from the tank then you can."
"And how long will that be?" he asked.
The clone looked at the chrono on the wall. He then looked back at Obi-wan.
"An hour or two," he stated.
Obi-wan sighed.
"General, go and get some rest sir," Ivan ordered kindly. "I'll have Basha contact you when she is ready to have visitors."
"Alright," Obi-wan said standing. He stretched once he stood. "Thank you, Ivan."
Ivan stood and gave him a nod. "No thanks needed. It's my job."
Obi-wan smirked and headed out of the medics. He headed to his private quarters. When he got there, he sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled out his holo. Activating it, he contacted Cody. The clone commander's image appeared, along with King Rennek.
"Commander Cody here," Cody answered.
"How goes clean up down there?" Obi-wan asked.
"All the droids are disposed of in the city," Rennek said. "I have my men cleaning up the pieces left in the water."
Obi-wan nodded. "Is everyone alright, your highness?"
"Everyone is alright and they are currently returning to their homes," Rennek said. "What about you, Master Kenobi? I expected to see you after the battle with your padawan. Is everything alright?"
"Sasha has suffered from the seaweed again," Obi-wan said. "They have her in bacta tank now as we speak."
The king nodded. "And what about you?"
"No damage," he said. "I was given orders by the medics to rest, but I'm fine. I was actually planning on heading back down to help with clean up."
"That won't necessary, Master Kenobi," he said raising a hand. "I suggest you take the doctor's orders and get some sleep. I'm sure, if it is alright with you, that your clones and my men can handle things down here until you return?"
Cody nodded. "We've got it under control, sir. Get some rest, General."
Obi-wan smiled. "I'm not going to win this argument, am I?"
Both of them shook their heads. Obi-wan chuckled.
"Alright. I'll get some rest," Obi-wan said.
Cody nodded and hung up the holo. Obi-wan chuckled again as he stood and made his way to the refresher. He showered and changed into a spare change of clothes he had in his room. Once he was done with that, he placed his saber, Sasha's saber, and a commlink on the nightstand before lying down. Once his head hit the pillow, Obi-wan fell into a deep slumber.
Back with Grievous…
After coming out of the water, Grievous spotted his base in ruins on the far side of the beach. Kenobi had destroyed the base, his special diving suit, and possibly was now trying to save his pathetic pet. Grumbling, Grievous marched through the trees heading to his fighter's secret location. He tore off the torn suit he wore and threw it into the bushes as he pushed through the trees.
His fighter, the Soulless One sat waiting for him on the other side of this tiny island. He climbed into the cockpit and started the engines. He flew off in the direction of his warship that was resting on one of the main Voth islands. Thankfully, when he got closer the ship was still in one piece. He landed his fighter in the hanger of the ship.
"General Grievous," one of the many battle droids that was in the hanger said startled as Grievous climbed out of his fighter. "We were not expecting you back for some time sir."
Grievous didn't reply. He stormed past the droids and knocked over any that were in his way. He headed to the bridge. The commanding droid turned to Grievous when he entered the bridge.
"Sir, you have an incoming transmission from Count Dooku," it said.
Grievous stepped up onto the captain's platform and pressed the one switch for the holoprojector. Count Dooku appeared, confused.
"Grievous, what has happened?" Dooku asked.
"The Jedi had clones with them," Grievous said. "I don't know how they got the word out so fast, but they were more than prepared for our attack."
Dooku furrowed his eyebrows. "And what of the Jedi? Are they dead?"
"No."
"Grievous you have disappointed me for the last time!" he stated, pissed off.
"But Count, we can still overthrow the King. We just need…"
He was interrupted. "No, now we may have just lost the King's trust. And that was to be our aid when throwing him over. You are to leave Vothkul this instant."
"Yes, my lord," Grievous said with a bow.
The count shimmered out and all the droids looked up at Grievous.
"You heard the Count's orders. Get us off this rock," Grievous ordered. "And tell all remaining troops to leave… now."
The droids started up the engines and contacted their fellow droids. Grievous left the bridge without a word.
Two hours later…
Obi-wan woke up to the sound of beeping. Groaning, he rolled over and answered his commlink.
"Hello?" he asked.
"General, you may come and see the commander," the voice on the other end said.
That woke him up. "On my way," he said then hung up.
Throwing off the blankets, Obi-wan got himself ready, grabbing the sabers and pulling on his boots. He then headed out to the medical ward, which by now should be calmer. When he got there, Ivan was waiting for him. Obi-wan approached him.
"How is she?" Obi-wan asked.
Ivan smiled. "She is just fine. The bacta worked its magic and the rashes are practically gone. As well the inner organ issue has been taken care. She will need to stay on an oxygen tank for the rest of the day and by tomorrow she should be well enough to leave, but no strenuous activity until the Jedi healers get a look at her."
Obi-wan nodded. "Of course. Once we are all finished here, I will make sure she heads to see the healers."
Ivan gave a nod and started to walk away. He stopped half way and turned back.
"And if you return to Luga City, I suggest you use a sub, no scuba suits or swimming."
"Will do," he said.
Ivan smirked and left. Obi-wan smirked and looked at the open doorway of the room Sasha had been in when they had arrived earlier. Moving closer, he peered inside. Sasha was resting in the bed in a medical outfit. Her swim suit was hung up on a rack to dry nearby, along with the busted air and her boots. Frowning, he looked back over to her. The oxygen mask fogged up as she breathed. He walked over to one side of the bed and took a seat on the edge. He detached her saber from his belt and laid it down on the table beside the bed. He then placed a hand on her shoulder. She moaned and slowly her eyes fluttered open.
Obi-wan smiled gently done at her. "Hey."
"Master?' her voice was hoarse and soft.
"Shh… don't try talking," he said softly. "You have been through a lot." He paused. "How do you feel?"
"Blah," she whispered.
He smiled. "Yeah, you'll feel blah for a while."
She smiled through the mask then cleared her throat. The noise she made when she did that didn't sound good. His smile disappeared and he gently squeezed her shoulder.
"Where's Grievous?" she asked softly.
"We don't know. But knowing him, he may have fled," Obi-wan said. "Now get some sleep and rest. I'll come check on you in a while."
Sasha nodded and her eyes slowly fell shut. She was asleep again. Obi-wan placed a hand on her cheek. He wiped a tear that had escaped her eye when she had cleared her throat. She leaned into his hand. He pulled away and stood up from the bed. He headed out and dimmed the lights. He took one last look at his sleeping padawan. He smiled and closed the door shut.
AWE! How cute! But at the same time intense, right? PLEASE REVIEW!
