This happens after the chapter in the manga being Messenger from Bewitching Food World and labyrinth of death.
Passing Our Time:
Traveling within giant beast like the Octomelon was something Usako had to adapt to since she was leaving with men again. Flourite, Coco, and her son she was comfortable around when she had to bath and changes her clothes. Flourite was familiar with female form of being a widower turned womanizer. Coco and she had many sexual encounters since coming back together as a couple. Lexxion flat out didn't care about her state of dress or how she groomed her self. Leaving three other men within the Heavenly Kings she would rather dress like a Nun around. Sunny admired her for her beauty while Zebra couldn't stop looking at her like she was a pen-up girl.
Had her working around their schedules within Octomelon that had to do with usage of the bathroom. Shared bedroom allowed Coco and her to share a bed while everyone else had their own (Flourite and Lexxion also shared one). Every thing else she found time to adapt to life within Octomelon. By finding time to get use to Capture Level Measuring Devices IGO had come out with. Wrist watch version had come in handy while serving trey version had her as gitty as a school girl. Trying them out on passing beasts had her learning quickly how to use these devices.
"Mom!" Lexxion found her outside of Octomelon messing with the Capture Level Measuring Devices.
"Over here Lexxy." She would wave to him with one hand while other was being pointed at all types of monsters. "I feel like teenager again."
By her Lexxion would seat on a leaf chair to look over all the data on high level Gourmet Beasts she recorded. Pulling his candied find head from his lips wondering if he could hide from Sunny out here. Between the meals that were being made since they left the deadly maze that's to Komatsu's food luck. He satisfied his sweet tooth with his mother's homemade sweets for everyone to enjoy. One he currently was snacking on was a fish heads turned into lollipop through candy process.
"Sunny berating your again for unhealthy eating habits." She knew he had to be here for that. "If it's Zebra bothering you about being cocky then I'll..."
"Sunny." Was all Lexxion could say he bit into the fish head.
"Then I'll berate him in a while." She flips the trey around in her hand.
She they took a bite of her son's fishhead and slowly chew shifting her eyes side to side not opening her mouth once. Swallowing minute after ward while she pulled out her journal and wrote something down. To only end up asking Lexxion if any of her bizarre meals were any way eatable and enjoyable. Around his eyes would turn when he took more bites of his candied fishhead before talking.
"Gets a rise out of Uncle Sunny and I blame where we're going for you changing you cooking preference all the sudden." Lexxion pointed out the location they were heading,
"I even have my old recipe notebooks." She couldn't wait to barter them with the natives.
"Still my mom." Lexxion finished his fishhead.
This got him a kiss on his cheek by her before she got off the leaf chair suggesting they should head in. Anch was up off his feet taking his master's side with out a verbal command tilting his ears back. Back into the Octomelon this Doobra would show Usako with Lexxion following; while asking about more candied fishheads. Usako was careful to not drop any of the Measuring Devices while answering her son. Informing him she would make more whenever more fish was gathered for her. Lexion nodded his head right behind her chewing on the bones of the fish head within his lips.
"You're going to ruin your appetite and possibly choke." Usako reached out and pulled the bones out of mouth. "Don't start how you're coming to like taste of morrow."
"I'm a grow kid!" He reminds her.
She just rolled her dull eyes and messed with her hair at his statement when they stepped into the Great Hall. Flourite would greet Lexxion and her as he came from the Pot Storage and Food Repository. A small version of a strange looking flower with puckered pedals within a portal clay pot held securely within his right hand.
"Isn't she beautiful?" Flourite asked gesturing toward the plant.
"This is what I've been living with since we left the human world." Lexxion spoke of Flourite having cabin fever.
"Tell me you've not forgotten what a Puckered Rose?" Usako asked walking toward the stairs.
Flourite was left watching Lexxion try to remember what a Puckered Rose even was while Usako walked away. This amused the retired saiseiya to the point he leaned forward to kiss Lexxion's cheek. Watching the teen turn a bright shade of red before whispering to him what a Puckered Rose was. This had Lexxion yelling loud enough that he sounded like he was screaming out of pain, or scared. Who ever came running wouldn't find him since he ended up chasing after his mother. Flourite was behind them carrying his Puckered Rose needing to water the plant this day. Only form of conversation between the three of them was Lexxion and Flourite about a plant. Usako stayed quiet the whole time at they moved up the stairs leading to the kitchen area.
Where they split apart with Usako and Flourite heading toward the kitchen's water source with Lexxion following. Upon the counter next to the kitchen's water source Lexxion would seat as his mother and boyfriend/combo partner worked. Watching the simple flower is gently watered and pruned.
"I heard a Nitro was the reason why three out of 5 of your senses were damaged." Lexxion commented on his mother's past.
"Someone has been doing his research." Usako could only smile.
Lexxion was handed a glass of water by Flourite before his mother spoke of most depressing part of her life. How she went into the Gourmet World during her teenage years beside her father, Ichiryuu. The purpose of the two of them was never revealed to her during their Gourmet World travels. She lived for the gathering of ingredients, listening to stories of her father's past, and just being with him. Some times battling a high level beast came along passed the time for those two. Half the time they won by allowing the beast to live and serve them or end up as dinner. Others were captured for the IGO to use as research maternal or in the battle dome fighting.
All came to end one day when they came across Nitro unprepared for what this feathered enemy had. Before either one could react to presence or even come up with a plan of some kind. Young Usako was the first to be attacked to the point what beating she received while trying to defend her self. Her oculomotor nerve was carved in half while head injuries robbed her of her sight. She blacked out and wouldn't see the light of Gourmet World unlit later on in her life.
"Dad, some how fought the Nitro to the point he was able to save me." Usako recalled the details of that memory.
She then handed her son a piece of chocolate bark from a Bitter Bark tree she snatched from outside Octomelon. Warning her son the taste of this raw ingredient was more potent then food form human world. He took the item within his own hands and took his first bite with out pausing. Taking more bites of this bitter bark not once more slowing down this snack his mother gave him. Making Flourite smirk while Usako stood there carefully listening to her son chew. Waiting for him to stop eating and tell her what the thought of whatever she stuck n front of him.
"Tastes like unsweetened chocolate made straight from raw coco beans." Lexxion swallowed. "….With an oaky undertone."
"He's a future member of the G7." Flourite would joke.
"Up to him to chose his future goal." Usako yawned.
She ended up losing her balance completely with her eyes slowly closing as she fell toward Flourite. He caught her within his arms guessing she's been avoiding actual sleep since they got through the maze. Had him lifting her gently as if she was a fragile flower about to fall apart of held her wrong. He called after Lexxion to watch his Puckered Rose while cradling her within his arms. Anch would have made a loud noise about her collapsing all the sudden if not signaled by Lexxion to stand down.
"Don't touch the pedals." Flourite warned the teen. "I'll be right back."
Flourite disappeared up the stairs of that he knew led to the dinning room and then the bed room areas. Leaving Lexxion in a vast kitchen area he had little to no experience in as the sight of his unconscious mother in the arms of Flourite that wasn't his father was weird. He always remembered that only his grandfather and seniors members of the IGO carrying her. She never left anyone even handle her in any kind of way before she was reunited with Coco.
"She'll be fine." Lexxion looked to the Dobbra.
Anch snorted in her own way at being told her master was collapsed from fatigue or lack of sleep. Figuring she could march all the way to ward occupied bathing area and gain Komatsu and Coco attention. Not that Lexxion in the lower parts of the Octomelon had to explain what wrong Usako was. Since the teen could them Flourite was settling her down on a bed that reeked of a sweet smells. Knew had a mixture of his parents' poisonous sweat produced when they slept.
"Calla lilies." Lexxion whispered to the Puckered Rose about what flora the smell reminds of.
Lexxion sighed as he all be could was sit on that counter top and try to think of something to do. He didn't want to be found by one of his uncles, father, Mappy, or Komatsu just being here. Not like he was avoiding them all or flat out still scared of being around Toriko and Zebra. To take his mind off the ideas he went back to eating the Bitter Bark while getting off the counter. Just when he slightly shifted he ended up biting down to hard and bit into upper parts of his tongue. Gushing of acidic blood started to fill his mouth to the point he had to keep his lips shut. Had he being careful in removing last bits of Bitter Bark soaked in mixed of his blood and saliva.
This had him unable to use his voice to call for help when he become worried his blood may harm Octomelon (if he opened his mouth to speak). So he and Anch ended up traveling down the star well between kitchens and bathing area. Whole time Lexxion tried to keep his own blood from spilling or trickling from his mouth. Not that he would make it far when the losing too much of his own blood had him slowing down. He ended up having to stop at the entrance of bathing area using one his hands to cover his mouth. Leaning against the wall while Anch stepped into get much needed attention for Lexxion.
Mending a teenager's tongue wasn't easy when single drip of fluids from his mouth had a cursive effect. He's mother wasn't consciousness to hand stitch his tongue with he special thread made from Banjyan Tiger's fur. Left Coco to find his son on brick of crying with a mouth full of blood and tend to him. By seeking help from Flourite while clearing Lexxion's blood filled mouth out. Getting the teen to swoosh around glass of Delicineral Water mixed with Taste Salt handed to him by Komatsu. He spit out minutes later able to show how far his bit into his tongue when eating Bitter Bark. This was deep bite that had Flourite using yet another Thorn leaf on wound. Pain stung when leaf pulled the teen's tongue back together and allowed him to talk finally.
Just Lexxion ended up getting some sound advice from Zebra for the first time on avoiding biting his tongue again. By actually sitting down and listening to what this former badass of the Heavenly Kings had to say. Instead of backing away or making up an excuse to get away from this Uncle.
"Where is the fair skinned maiden what smells of Strawberry of the Valley?" Mappy asked about Usako.
"In the world of slumber." Flourite answered him laying down his glass. "She'll join us upon arrival within Hex World."
Lexxion could be heard laughing to some kind of joke Zebra told him sipping his glass of squeezed Lemonadurian. Smile in the place of fear told Flourite that Lexxion was quickly becoming comfortable.
"Her beauty is that of no Beast I've never seen before." Mappy openly spoke of Usako's beauty.
"Thank her Gourmet Cells for that." Flourite mentioned Usako's Gourmet Cells.
Rest of this feast they all shared carried into the night with drinks flowing and all kinds of words exchanged. Once more Usako's fishhead pop made an appearance when she joined them in to late hours. Sunny made it clear he didn't want anything to do with ugly teat while Komatsu wanted her recipe. Toriko and Zebra tried a few while Coco took Usako into his arms and asked if she was alright. Lexxion was careful in eating his since his tongue was still on the mend while Mappy enjoy Usako's creation.
