Winter
Winter.
The time of year when the city looked amazing as the snow fell, and the Christmas lovers showed their cheer. It was the time of year when you couldn't walk a block without seeing the Salvation Army out ringing their bells, or people on the streets with signs about God and needing food.
And this was what Inuyasha was witnessing now. Just with a twist.
This year, he wasn't alone. In fact he had Sesshomaru and Moko-moko here with him, walking down the streets of the city, window shopping and talking about their plans. The demon and hanyou had agreed to keeping it to just them, with possibly some friends over to hang out for a small party. Other than that, it would just be them and the dog for Christmas, and Inuyasha was beyond excited. Dating your brother could do that to you, make you excited about the dumbest shit, just like he found himself angry at the dumbest shit too. But since they were so close now, the hanyou was beginning to think long term and their issues with the family possibly finding out. Not that it could be too much of a problem. Demon law was much different than human law, and most old ways were still intact.
It was just that Inuyasha could only think about what it would be like to be with Sesshomaru all the time. And with it being the holiday season, well, his thoughts grew tenfold.
Peeking into The Bay shop windows, the hanyou marvelled at all the different clothes and other holiday special products inside. The demon caught this quickly, and by the time they were out of the store they had ordered enough gifts to hand out to nearly every citizen nearby.
At least, that's what it felt like to Sesshomaru.
He didn't really understand the need for celebration like this, thinking that it was good enough to just...sit around with Inuyasha and the damn dog. Instead he and Inuyasha had bought gifts and were planning things together and it was then that he realized that things were serious. So when they got home from their outing, he sat down on the couch and unwrapped the scarf from around his neck, eyes watching his brother as he slowly stripped out of his winter gear and disappeared into the bedroom, only to return in a sweater and his pajama pants. Clearly he was getting comfortable for the evening.
Sesshomaru reached out, pulling Inuyasha down into his lap and wrapping his arms around him before he littered his face with sweet kisses.
"Oi, oi oi!" Inuyasha smiled and pushed against the demon's face, "You're being pretty affectionate today."
"Mm..maybe..." Sesshomaru whispered and kissed him on the lips, "I'm just happy to have you,"
"Sesshomaru...who knew you could be a sap?" The hanyouo teased, tangling his fingers in his hair.
"Only for you, Inuyasha," He smirked, moving their positions so that he was laying down with the hanyou held tightly against his chest as he kissed him. Their small kisses soon took a turn for a more passionate route, and the demon's hands were soon pushed up the hanyou's sweater before they broke away panting.
"You're not usually like this..." Inuyasha sighed, sucking his lip gently.
"Neither are you..."
"Maybe it's just the weather..."
"Are you blaming your love on the winter season, little brother?"
"Possibly. I just know that I love you, and I think that's good enough.."
Oh, it was. The demon knew it was, which was why when Christmas finally came, he would show him that love was all they needed.
