I don't own Silverwing or Guardians of Ga'Hoole. I only own this story and the characters not in the books.
Goth made Shade and Marina land on a tree branch. The giant bat wasn't pleased with the Silverwing.
"We had a deal. You are still taking too long." growled Goth.
Goth grabbed Shade by the throat. Shade tried to convince Goth he wasn't lying.
"I've never migrated before. Maybe I should check my sound map again." nervously said Shade.
Goth let go of the Silverwing's throat.
"Very well. I am off to hunt. But I swear on the soul of Zots that if you try to trick me..." snarled Goth.
Shade could see his colony flying behind Goth out of the giant bat's view.
"Hey come on. Let's hunt together. I'm pretty good you know." stammered Shade.
Goth was beginning to become intrigued by the Silverwing.
"Really. Then perhaps you can prove it by killing something for us all to eat." suggested Goth.
Shade got a little worried. Out of nowhere Dusk appeared. The smallest and youngest of the Starwings attacked Goth's face. The giant bat clawed at his face to get the Starwing off of it.
"Now!" shouted Dusk.
Eclipse, Soren, Twilight, and Digger appeared from hiding. Twilight and Digger went to take care of Throbb. Eclipse and Soren assisted Dusk in attacking Goth.
Goth glared at the ones who dared to attack him. The giant bat spread his wings and prepared to fight.
"Last time I went too easy on you. This time you will all die." swore Goth.
Goth lunged at Eclipse and Soren. The two friends split up and dodged Goth's attack. Eclipse looked at his little brother.
"Fly Dusk. Take Shade and Marina and fly away. We'll handle things here. Save yourself and go look after Aurora." instructed Eclipse.
Dusk understood. He gathered Shade and Marina and the three of them flew away from the battle field. Both Shade and Marina were shocked by what had just happened.
"What just happened? And where did you come from?" questioned Shade.
Dusk turned to the confused Silverwing.
"I managed to escape Goth and Throbb's attack. I found Eclipse. He was scratched up a bit, but he was still able to fly. I treated his wounds and we looked for the others. We found Soren, Gylfie, Digger, and twilight caught in traps like the one we freed Orestes from. After Eclipse and I freed the Band, we began looking for Aurora. Aurora was badly injured in her fight with Goth. You'll see for yourself in a minute. Gylfie stayed with Aurora to look after her wounds and keep her company while the rest of us went on a rescue mission to try and save you two." explained Dusk.
The three young bats landed on nearby tree branch. From the branch, Shade, Marina, and Dusk could see Gylfie standing over a badly wounded Aurora. Aurora's fur was stained red and it looked like her right wing might have been broken.
Shade and Marina gasped. Dusk just looked away from his sister. Gylfie looked up and noticed that Dusk was back with Shade and Marina.
"Dusk, you're back. I need your help. Aurora keeps losing more and more blood. I can't stop the bleeding. You have to help me." exclaimed Gylfie.
Dusk wished he could just disappear.
"I can't help. I'm not a healer. I'm barely an Oracle apprentice. I don't know how to treat wounds like my sister has. I'm useless." self insulted Dusk.
Shade got an idea.
"I might be able to help your sister Dusk. I can remember what Zephyr taught me. I just hope it will be enough to help your sister." told Shade.
Dusk was overcome by joy for the first time since he left his homeland.
"Thank you, Shade. If you can help my sister I will be forever in your det." gratefully thanked Dusk.
Shade glided down to get a better look at Aurora's wounds. When Shade knew how bad the wounds were, he told Dusk and Marina what herbs he would need to help Aurora heal. Dusk and Marina went to go get the herbs while Shade stayed behind with Gylfie to try and stop Aurora from losing anymore blood.
The Starwing and Brightwing bats returned in a short amount of time with the herbs Shade had asked them to find. Shade smiled when he saw Dusk and Marina had returned, with the herbs. Now he could get to work.
Shade treated Aurora wounds to the best of his abilities. The bleeding had stopped, but Aurora's fur was still bright red and had to be cleaned. Dusk looked from his unconscious sister to the one who had saved her life.
"Will she be alright?" worriedly asked Dusk.
"I did the best I could Dusk. Her wounds were pretty bad. We're luck her wing wasn't broken. I wouldn't have been able to fix that. But she'll be unconscious for a little bit longer. We shouldn't move her until she wakes up. When she's awake, I think we might be able to continue on our journey." replied Shade.
Aurora awoke by the time Eclipse and the others got back. The white Starwing bat as still weak so she had to cling to her older brother as they flew towards the next place Shade saw on his soundmap. The soundmap was leading them strait to a snow covered mountain. Things just kept on getting better and better.
Sorry about the late update. I've been a bit busy lately. Comment if you like the story and comment on my other stories as well.
