Chapter Twenty-Five
Before she could experience him biting down on a side of her neck, Amy found herself being flung away from Frost's body due to a blast coming from the direction of the door that led into the room. She let out a groan after her body had made contact with the hard floor of the small dance studio that Deacon had in his home. Amy reached up to her head, and held it, gently, while her face had an expression of confusion and pain mixing together on it.
What in the hell just happened?!
Sitting up, she turned her eyes in the direction of where a large opening had been made in place of where the door was, and discovered Blade to be standing there with a look that could kill anyone that he wanted to upon his strong face. Her heart nearly stopped when she found out that the cause for the explosion was none other than the very person who had been trying to keep her away from Frost and falling into his grasp.
Here is your chance, Amy! Blade is standing right there and he is more than able to get you the hell out of this place before Deacon finishes what he was about to do with you. Run your ass over to him right now, and get out of here before another moment is wasted!
Deep down inside of herself, Amy knew that her conscience was right. This was the moment for her to make her escape from Frost and his vampire lifestyle and return back to her normal, human existence that she knew of before ever going to his night club in the first place.
However...The idea of her leaving Deacon seemed to be just an illusion. Amy didn't want to leave him. In fact...She wanted to remain there with the one person who seemed to speak to her in ways that no one else could manage to do so in her ordinary life outside the walls of his skyrise compound. He awakened things in her that made her realize that she was not as straight laced and mundane like she first assumed herself to be. Now that the door was open, she didn't want to close it.
Amy proceeded to speak up when she felt Blade picking her up off of the floor and putting her over one of his shoulders. She let out a gasp from finding herself in a situation where she couldn't get down from.
"I will take my leave now, Frost," Blade said, speaking in a growl tone towards him, "and come back to finish you off once I have Amy somewhere that is safe and sound from you finding her again."
Her heart nearly stopped at the mentioning of Blade taking her out of the area that she had already started to get used to, and placing her in an area where she would never be found by Frost again. Amy didn't want anything of the sort. All she wanted was to remain there with Frost and to spend the rest of her days out with him despite how corny it sounded to her within her mind. He was the only vampire she wanted to stay with and allow to bite her. Not even Blade could shake that off of her with herself being suspended off of the floor over one of his shoulders.
Moving her eyes over to where Frost was nestled on the floor, Amy showed him a heartbreaking stare from where her body was laying across one of Blade's strong shoulders. Her eyes started to tear up at the notion of never seeing him again. With sadness starting to pull at her heart strings, her mouth managed to make a statement to him with no sound coming from her vocal chords.
"Deacon..."
Only one word escaped from her mouth in a near silent whisper before she found Blade to be rushing her out of the room. Amy found her surroundings to be blurred due to how she was being rushed through Deacon's home at a speed that she was not accustomed to. She looked to the walls on either side of Blade and her, and took in the images of various artworks flying past Blade and herself.
"Stop them!"
Amy looked back from catching the sound of Frost's voice, and found him to be moving down the long hallway towards her direction with several of his male and female vampires following him. Her heart started to race and lift with hope that the one man who had shown her a passion unlike anything else in very subtle and small ways coming for her from where she was.
"Hang on."
Her ears picked up on Blade's voice speaking to her firmly, alerting her that something big was fixing to happen. Fearfully, Amy grabbed onto Deacon's enemy's shoulders and closed her eyes moments before her body registered him to be leaping them out through a window and flying through the air. She waited until Blade landed on a roof before she opened her eyes. Amy looked back in time to see Deacon looking at her from the shadows of his home before Blade started to jump them from rooftop to rooftop, moving them out of his line of sight.
